We spent the majority of the day going from one used car dealership to another. We had called in advance to verify the website's information; that they did in-house financing. After receiving confirmation of "tote the note" financing availability, we headed to the first dealership on our list (E-Auto Groups), to buy our first choice vehicle, which was an H3 2006 Hummer. The Carfax report said it had been listed for 306 days, so we were hoping they would be happy to sell it to us, regardless of our troubled credit. After a 45 minute drive we arrived at the lot and we looked at the exterior (it was locked), and waited for a salesperson to arrive. No salespeople appeared, the lot was just dead empty. We headed inside and a lady behind a desk seemed surprised someone was there, but asked if she could help us. We informed her of our desire to purchase the H3, so she got the keys and took us to it. It would not start, she said recent thefts from the lot had led to them disconnecting the batteries...then she had it jump-started for us. The interior was very clean, the outside was not. There were multiple visible damages including a snapped off radio antennae. She spoke with us a while and invited us to inspect it at the local AutoZone via a free diagnostic. So we did. Despite the cosmetic damages, and obvious signs that the CarFax reported alignment had failed, we decided to go for it. We sat down to start the approval process at which time she informed us that we would have to have $2500 down for in-house, not the advertised $995. Otherwise we would have to have a credit check and $2000 down. She told us that John did not want to wait for his share of the payment if they did in-house financing, so basically that was never an option even though it was clearly stated on their website. I asked her how long the H3 had been there, and she said "oh just a few weeks", not 306 days. Even though she was polite and patient the rest of the experience was frustrating, disappointing, and made us feel lied to. After our credit was turned down, ( I believe it was never even checked, since all she did was say she would go "ask John" returning in just a few moments with "no" for an answer). We put $5 in gas in the H3 to make it to the AutoZone since it was sitting on empty, and did not get reimbursed before we left feeling angry and hopeless. Our next dealership on the list was Carnaval Autos, another 45 minute drive away. We were already getting hot and thirsty in the 970 F day. Without much of a greeting or any introductions the salesman just asked to run our credit, we told him we were needing in-house finance due to a low credit score. He told us we had to run credit to buy there, that they would not do in-house, even though we had called to make sure they did. Really tired and dejected we decided to go to Don Herring Mitsubishi, since they were running an ad for a "credit amnesty event" at their Plano location. We figured the worst they could do is say no too. The ad said "if you make $400 a week, we can finance you!" Really not expecting much, and slightly the worse for wear, we turned around and headed back to Plano on another 45 minute trip across town. Upon arrival we were greeted almost instantly by a smiling and friendly salesperson named Simon. While my spouse went in to discuss financing, I roamed the lot checking out the enormous selection of new vehicles, and used trade-ins. I assumed we would have to get a used car, because of our credit situation. So I primarily looked at those, picking out a few to consider. I went in, and they had already finished the preliminary paperwork. I went to ask where the facilities were, and was greeted in a upbeat and jovial manner by Shane, the GM. Almost tripping over each other in their eagerness to help, half a dozen salespeople directed me to the restrooms. The ladies room was clean, had soap, and paper towels. Upon leaving the restroom I noticed multiple vending machines. I went out to smoke a cigarette, came back in to check on the progress, and Simon went over all the incredible features of the warranty (10 years or 100,000 miles), and the services the dealership would offer, such as the first three oil changes for free. The approval was still pending, so I went to get some drinks from the machines, although they had already given us bottled water. I noticed a service and parts area as well as a enclosed children's play area fully equipped with toys and brightly colored objects of interest. I was very impressed that the dealership had taken into consideration the trials and tribulations of parenthood, and accommodated those needs accordingly. I was also very pleased to have something cold to drink. I stopped to chat at the front counter, where everyone was in high spirits, and watched as outside someone was taking a picture with their new ride. RE: Don Herring Mitsubishi NORTH. I purchased a Groupon for a state inspection, called beforehand and was told the machine was broken, would not be fixed for 2 weeks. I could not wait 2 weeks, did not want to be stopped by police. So as an understanding person, not faulting them for a broken machine, I was willing to go elsewhere this time. ALL I asked of them was if they would kindly honor the coupon for my next inspection and the man was very rude to me, impatient as well, got to the point of yelling at me, though I talked to him courteously. He acted as if it was my fault that I had not called earlier to schedule, which, I told him that my Firestone place does not require an appt and I'd only purchased the coupon 1 month earlier. I was willing to go elsewhere for this inspection but the coupon will not be good for my next one and will thus be expired. I was not upset but just wanted them to extend the date for just a short time later so I could eventually use it next year, being that it's not my fault their machine was broken. I didn't mind paying more this year. Instead of trying to find a way to make things right & fair for the customer by eventually honoring the coupon, he rudely told me that people have been coming in for the past 1-1/2 months with Groupons, that I should have called sooner, and also that even if the machine was not broken he would not have been able to schedule me for another month. There was nowhere written on the Groupon that I had to call a month ahead for an appt and I feel they should have foreseen this & asked people to call at least so much time in advance. He also was not even able to tell me when the machine would be fixed, except "maybe in 2 weeks". I never experiece this with Firestone; in fact, they go all out of their way to please. Now I am stuck with a coupon that I cannot use, plus have been treated very rudely by Don Herring and just feel that they don't care, that they do not even TRY to find solutions, even when their customer presents options. Bought a 15 Outlander sport gt about a week ago and the car has been great. Mitsubishi offers 10yrs/100k miles of powertrain warranty so no reason to worry about CVT that I was skeptical about. Dealership experience was pleasant as well. Ethan was the salesman. He was a nice guy who was very courteous and helpful. He wasn't pushy or sleazy. I had him go talk to his manager many times (well, which is normal) and bring 3 different cars for me to look at but he didn't show any sign of annoyance. I wish all the car salesperson was like him. Just watch out for this finance guy, I forgot his name but he is the definition of pushy and annoying salesman. He kept on trying to sell me a product saying he never lets his family buy a car without this and what not. He also tried to screw me over by charging me a $1,000 that was supposed to be down payment on the final out the door price. The price didn't come out to what I expected so I had to ask him and he shook his head showed why are you even talking to me attitude. He also said "oh, I thought the final price was after the down payment." He showed how annoyed he was so I just decided to do all the math myself and just ask him simple questions like so what's the APR. Make sure to double check. If I didn't, I would have paid a grand more than what I was supposed to. Overall, 5 for the car 5 for the salesman -5 for finance dude Only reason why I keep it at 5/5 is I am extremely satisfied with my vehicle and the salesman was very courteous. Their warranty proves that they are pretty damn confident about their motors and transmission and the salesman won't screw you over but just watch out for finance dude, so if you ever consider getting a Mitsubishi don't hesitate. read more

When I was doing my research (6-months of research) to purchase a new vehicle that would fit all my needs, I first went to the GMC Dealership to purchase a GMC Terrain, only to find out the Terrain only had a full bench back seat rather than a split seat, which was a total deal-breaker for me due to my needs. I didn't even test drive the Terrain. I was upset that I was going to have to start my research all over again since I didn't have a 2nd choice!! While I was driving to work one day, I saw an Outlander in front of me and I managed to see the entire vehicle and thought "wow" what a great looking vehicle. So I started my research with the Outlander and based on the information I found, I decided it was the vehicle for me. When I arrived at the dealership, I was even more impressed with how well they treat their customers and how hard they worked to get me out of there in as short amount of time as possible while making sure that I was getting and understood all the correct information on my purchase and finance. I decided that I will continue to drive Mitsubishi vehicles throughout the rest of my life and the Plano site will be my dealership of preference. My new Outlander has a 4-cyl engine with ECO Boost and gets great gas mileage, a split back seat as well as a third row seat for all my grandkids. I have 5-grandchildren who range in age from 14yrs to 3 yrs and can't wait to get them all in my new Outlander at the same time. I am about to drive my new outlander to Castle Rock, Colorado to visit my son and his family and I am very excited to make this journey in my new Outlander. Kudos!! This place is full of liars , bait and switch games. They are sending out flyers with a scratch off game. My wife scratched off 3 matching numbers and called the number on the ticket to verify. Told her , yes that is a winning number come claim your prize. 7500.00 dollars. We get there and are told that the person on the number on the flyer does not have the ability to verify winning numbers. What a load of crap. We were offered a 2 dollar bill. I wouldn't buy anything from these people, not even a stick of gum. Dishonest , fraudulent advertising, luckily my daughter works for a law firm and I know how to call Mitsubishi corporate and let them know what their dealers are doing and why it is my goal to see heads roll. Just bought our 5th vehicle from Don Herring since 2003. Even with some minor hail damage and a bit of high mileage on the car we got above the KBB value for the trade as well as getting sales and loyalty rebates and a low, low interest rate on the new car loan. We bought our first Mitsubishi, a used '95 Galant in 1998 (which, by the way, was still running and on the road just over a year ago when we gave to the daughter of a former neighbor) and have never bought anything other than Mitsubishi since. We have not had the fortune of using their service for anything other than oil changes as we've never had anything go wrong mechanically on any of our or our children's Mitsubishi vehicles.
