Place is very disorganized. Food is okay. Not a big fan and we eat a lot of Mexican food. Chips are from a bag. Not authentic. We ordered nachos. We went there for some barbacoa, we even called before we got there. Now the place is generally Crowded as they get a good business. However after siting in the front waiting for our food, we should have gotten our money and ran! The servers at the front making the plates were not using gloves, when they put the wrong food in a plate they dumped it back into the food contained and stirred it up again. And the Barbacoa we went there for was nasty as it was marinated in a sauce but there was no discerption of the marinate when ordering from the menu. And it was appalling to hear how they spoke in Spanish about other people who complained about their food or lack of service. read more

This place is awesome!! We came in on a Sunday for some menudo and WOW. This is prob the best menudo place I've tried. To top of off it came with handmade tortillas...whattt?!! Mmm, mmm, mmm. My son is in town visiting from Hawaii for the holidays and wanted some good Mexican food while here. We decided to give this place a shot. I knew when I tried the chips it wasn't going to be good. They did not taste fresh and the salsa had no flavor. Then it took quite some time to get our food. I ordered carne asada street tacos and they were just okay. Sorry to say that my party ordering experience was chaotic. I ordered a week in advance with a 30 dollar deposit for a 200 dollar service. On the day of my event I contacted the establishment to make sure my party packs were ready because my event was going to start in a couple hours. They said that there was no order for this! Luckily I had my receipts of purchase or this establishment would have stole money from me. Needless to say I had re order my party menu and I had people at the party that were starving because of this chaotic mishap. After 3 hours late we picked up the order with no sorry, no discount or extra chips. I have to say that the food was good but maybe because we all were hungry with out food for 3 hours. It is really unfortunate when you love a business, but the ownership is poor. Sadly My family contacted the store to see when they were planning to start making tamales for the holiday season and the owner was incredibly rude and hung up on my father. Then proceeded to give an outlandish price for a dozen because he was irritated by my father calling them for business again. This is incredibly disappointing and we will not be going back there again. I too was lured in by the reviews. I won't keep this review long, just a list of what I observed during my hour of dining there. Place was empty at 1 in the afternoon on a weekday. Had to search to find a clean table only one clean table in the entire restaurant. Not recent either. The spilled soda had dried. No masks, gloves, or any type of protocol handed out by the state of California. Very rude impatient manager walked off as we were checking the menu and didn't return for over 5 minutes. Seemed like it was our punishment for not scanning the menu fast enough. On to the food. Was not impressed I ordered a a California burrito that had mostly potatoes and what little carne it had was in it was tough and rubbery. I couldn't even finish half it was so bad. They have great authentic Mexican food. However, they were lacking servers for a lunch time crowd. It took 15 minutes to get our bloody mary, water and complimentary chips and salsa. I had to ask for mild sauce multiple times before it came out. The menudo came out without the tortillas it was supposed to be served with (even though they asked if we wanted corn or flour when we ordered). The chips and salsa are very tasty as was their hard shell shredded chicken taco. The menudo was tasty once you added the lime cilantro and onion it was served with. The chilli relleno was the best I've had in the area. The carnitas chimichanga was ok but I would stick with the crispy tacos. The bloody mary when it finally got to our table was perfect. Over all I will give them one more shot and hope they have more people on the floor. To give them some credit the line was out the door and it was crowded (hence 4 stars instead of 3). read more

I can't believe that I have lived here for 33yrs and this restaurant has been open for a number of years without me knowing. First of all I can't say enough about how friendly and accommodating everyone that works there are. Yes you go in and order your food at the counter. Then if you want to eat inside, let them know. They have booths and tables in the next room along with a bar. Great Cadillac Margaritas!!! I like mine on the rocks with Tajin that's just me. But they are great!!! I had the chili verde burrito, wet. It was really tasty. Chili Verde was tender. I usually don't get beans inside my burrito only rice. But thought I would try it their way. It was good. Husband had Carne Asada burrito dry no beans. He said it was really good. Ask for pico if you have a husband like mine, not into the hot stuff. Lol. I got a bowl of the red hot and tomatillo, then they asked if I would like to try the Habanero since I like hot. omg the three of them were all great. The habanero was hot but actually had the best flavor I've had with a habanero salsa in a very long time. I found that a wonderful surprise. That doesn't happen very often. There has to be something extra you have to offer to stand out from the rest, and Don Pancho's has found their niche - BAD service. Been coming here and getting takeout for 12 years. They have no care about customer service. Every time I try to place an order they either put me on hold and forget about me or do not pickup the phone at all. Sick of the lack of service. I've been a loyal customer, food is good but apparently they don't appreciate their regulars. I've figured out that Murrieta totally has a lack of customer service across the board but has no problem raising prices and asking for tips even on carry out orders now. Screw them there are plenty of other MEXICAN restaurants in Temecula or other nearby places that care about customer service and have much better food read more

We just discovered this little spot about a month ago when we noticed people on the patio with margaritas. We decided to give it a shot. Really glad we did because we have been back probably five times since! The margaritas are good if a little overpriced. The chili verde is incredible! If deciding between chili verde and carnitas, get the chili verde. Both are good but the chili verde is great. The table chips and salsa are delicious and spicy - hard to stop eating them. Staff is friendly. The restaurant seems to be setup more for carry-out than inside dining but if you can get over the not so fancy atmosphere you will get some of the better Mexican food in valley. Taco Tuesday is also a very good deal and again, the chili verde tacos are a standout. read more
