Solid all around experience. Service was good, drinks were cold and the food was excellent. The trio chip appetizer is a must, great options with guacamole and two kinds of queso. Dinner options were great from burritos to enchiladas to tortas. We enjoyed them all. Great bar and it's located right next to an open place with lots of things for the kids to do.

I stopped eating to write this review. I went in for a pick up, expecting for it to be MAYBE good. Boy was I wrong this plate was DELICIOUS! Everything I ordered was good, chips, salsa, enchiladas, tacos and the tortilla soup. It was only $22 as I got a discount for paying online for $5. I totally recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

Don Pepe's is all around great. Nestled at the back of the Hillcrest Village Shopping Center, it has ample indoor as well as outdoor dining options. The food is a good value for the price. I have yet to try something here that isn't great. Try the queso blanco for starters or the bean soup. The service is friendly and attentive. Every time we come here, we get prompt service and are seated quickly. However, the last time we were here, it was pretty packed, so to be on the safe side, I'll start to place reservations. Glad to see this place get busy. It has great food for the price!

Great dinner at Don Pepe's! Came for their happy hour and the margaritas were half off. The chicken tortilla soup was flavorful without being too heavy. It was a lively atmosphere and we will definitely come back.

Service was excellent. Fajitas were really amazing. Homemade flour tortillas! Salsa was good and queso was really good too. Chili Rellenos with chicken/cheese also had the pecans and raisins which I felt were odd? overall excellent experience with a great waitress! Jessy B

Don Pepe's Rancho Mexican Restaurant was a good spot for a mid day lunch. It wasn't busy and the prices wasn't too bad . Nice local Tex-mex with a "hole-in-the-wall" feel. The patio overlooks a green space and kids playground. I got the shrimp enchiladas . This had to have been the best shrimp enchiladas I have ever had. I wanted to order another one but the person in my head said not today and that portion control is important these days. I definitely will be back for more and add this spot to one of my favorites.

First visit to the new location and that in itself is a huge improvement. This location is spacious and wide open. The food was good, I went with the enchilada special of two , one cheese and one beef. Both were good but I did load the whole meal with extra hot salsa. I also ordered the meltdown margarita and it was sweet but packed a punch. We were seated at the bar area table so we did have to hunt down the server as she was also the bartender. Goof experience all around except the Mavs lost. A lot of TV's. Awesome

We had breakfast in the hotel and our server was helpful, friendly and had a sense of humor. We visited the pool and were surprised that it was not heated. The hotel gym was decent, could use a better (newer) bench but it had the basics. Our room had everything we needed (the bed was quite soft) and a great view of the eye across the street. My first shower would only get warm and not hot so maintenance had to come up and show me a safely button to push which allows the water to get hot. This was after texting with hotel staff (a very helpful option) but surprising that they didn't just tell me about the button and chose to send maintenance. We were in room 852 on the North side of the hotel and overlooking the eye. We came back from dinner around 10 on Saturday night and were kept awake until about 1:30am. I guess Main St is where people choose to drive their cars with the music so loud it feels as though it's in your hotel room. The motorcycles and cars also like to rev their engines.... A LOT. The windows appear to be single pane and they don't keep any noise out at all. Due to the noise level, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.  Being on the 8th floor and feeling like I was in the cars that were driving on main st and blaring music 2 nights in a row was incredibly disappointing.  If this was a 2 star hotel, okay.  That is not the case.  Upgrade the windows to double or triple pane.  Your location is great, service was friendly and efficient, but one generally wants to sleep at night and that is not possible at your hotel. We even asked the front desk on our second morning if we should change rooms and were told Sunday nights were quiet. I should have listened to my gut as our Sunday night was not quiet. Although the amount of cars & motorcycles wasn't as much as on Saturday, we still heard several cars with music blaring or motorcycles reviving their engines until around 1am. This was the beginning of a long overdue vacation and birthday celebration and it did not get started on the right foot unfortunately.

We were amazed at how much space there is. The back room got pretty tight when we first arrived since there was a group of 12 there already....they had taken over the tall tables in the middle and the couch. Best decision ever From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with so much enthusiasm and seated right away by the window --although I was a little unsure about staying there since it was already cold outside . While we were deciding, someone immediately checked in to make sure we were okay (love that ). That's when the very kind gentleman--who we later learned was Victor Hugo--let us know another table would be clearing shortly so we could move. Top-tier service already For appetizers, we went with the brisket balls, duck taquitos, and a pitcher of pineapple mimosas . Let me tell you... those duck taquitos were SO good That crema?? EVERYTHING. The brisket balls instantly took us back to Turks & Caicos --IFYKYK We also tried the quesadilla, and once again--another hit . So good that we ended up ordering another round of the brisket balls because why not? Shoutout to Sayde and Maria, who were absolutely amazing . Tequila shots were flowing , and we were convinced to order pecan pie with ice cream for dessert . I do wish the dessert had been complimentary, and the pie would've been a solid 10/10 if it were warm--but still appreciated. Takeaway: Bucket & Rope does food right , and Victor and his team truly make you feel like family . We'll definitely be back--especially for those half-price apps during the week

We started off with a pitcher of mimosa and the duck taquitos. I'm usually not a fan duck however I was told to give it a try. If you hadn't told me it was duck, I probably would have thought it was chicken. The mimosa was a build your own, it came with 3 juices - orange, pineapple and cranberry - and you got to pour as much or as little juice as you wanted. Between the two of us, we each got about 3 glasses. I got the French toast, which tasted like a deep fried donut, in a good way. The outside was crunchy, the inside still had the pillow custard texture. However in my opinion it needed more of the apple pecan slaw especially if you weren't trying to drown them in syrup. My friend had the chilequillas which she really enjoyed but did mention a few times that it was a little spicy. We ended the meal with dessert which was rich and luscious but oh so delicious. It was a cholesterol mouse that was covered in a hazelnut chocolate shell with a raspberry sauce. Overall a great time was had & I'd gladly go back to try more.
