Doors are locked to anyone they deem as poor. When I asked to be let in they denied me because they are "doing inventory" funny how that works. I have been going to Don Roberto's in El Monte for over 10 years and the reason for that is not only the quality of products but the quality of service! They have truly treated me like family over the last 10 years with. Lulu , Carlos and Laura have always gone above and beyond on how they have taken care of any request I may have. They have also come up with some of the best custom job ideas on jewelry I've gotten over the years. Laura pierced my daughters ears and now loves to see how she's grown over the years. Lulu always has the most patience with me as she knows how long it takes for me to decide on what I want, hours sometimes! Carlos is always willing to stop and talk with me on how the family is doing and always seems to find a way work deals out with me when he sees me eyeing more than one item. Lulu was the first person I talked to for adjusting my watch and she was very nice. Ana was very nice, it was honestly a nice and homey feel I gotta say. We went to this place a few years ago looking for some engagement rings. The woman who greeted us was pushed aside by this bossy woman who spoke no English. Our Spanish isn't the best. So we choose some rings. We're told they're 14 karat gold. They were a little pricey, but our credit needed help so we make the purchase. First, we get the rings missing diamonds. We take them back, they fix it and give them back. Then we notice our rings are marked as 10k. We take them to get checked and sure enough, they're 10k. We were swindled by that rude lady! I went to another Don Roberto's and had the same experience. Every time I walk by a Don Roberto's, I'm bombarded by raunchy looking, no English speaking, swindling women, including this store. read more

I didn't make my purchase here for a few crucial reasons. First of all, stop pressuring me to make a purchase! I mean it, they were really pushy. Like 5 minutes into my visit, I had 3 people surrounding me telling, "just do it". I kid you not! If your jewels and service are great then let them speak for themselves. Dont tell me "just do it"! What is this, middle school peer pressure? Their prices are crazy expensive when I compared it to Jared. I figured Jared an American established business will definitely be way more expensive than a place that caters to "La Raza" right? Wrong! The place that caters to La Raza is taking advantage of them and love of bling. Plus they dont offer the services that Jared does. Let me put it this way, a gorgeous Neil Lane diamond at Jared cost less than the tiny ring I wanted to get. I ended up making my purchase at Jared in Chino Hills, and couldnt be happier with my decision. I saved several $100s on a gorgeous ring, I was never pressured, I didnt have to give all kinds of personal info to create an account with them, plus my ring is fully covered for life and I have 30 days to change my mind on my purchase. I'm sorry but these folks are thirsty and just want your money, its upsetting! read more

I give Don Robert 0 stars. In stead of help the community they do more damage. They push you to buy over price jewelry and state this will help you credit .ect ect. Then when some hard ship happends like lost of job. They take you to court to garnish your wage nit caring about your living cost. Thet taking 25% off every check i get from working leaving me with 1800 monthly. With that i have to bay my rent 1300 becouse im head off house hold. Leaving me with 500 month for food ,phone,gas,electricity ect . Update: I finally received the ring on Wednesday, 06/24. The ring was beautiful, proposal went great. However, I have not received the refund for the delivery fee that they promised. I inquired twice about it, but now I am not receiving any answers. I am giving it a two-star because the overall experience could have been a lot better. Even with the delay, they could have been proactive and contact me, and not wait for me to initiate contact EVERY SINGLE TIME there was a new delay in shipment. Ultimately, 12 days for an overnight delivery is a little much. Maybe their service is better in person. read more
