My wife and I enjoyed brunch here last weekend. The breakfast tacos were great, the breakfast burrito was too heavy on the beans, but good taste and size. My wife order the chilaquiles rojos which she said were decent. The ambiance has a Fuzzy's feel to it. The staff were might kind and efficient. I highly recommend the bacon and egg taco!

My partner grew up around here and had always talked about Don Taco. So when we came to visit, I had to try it for myself! Let me just say that this absolutely lived up to the hype. I love the casual vibe and the service was wonderful. We ordered the chicken chimichanga, an al pastor taco, and a carnitas taco along with an order of guac and chips. The chimichanga and al pastor taco were incredible! The carnitas taco was also good but not as flavorful as the al pastor. The guac though was seriously one of the best guacamoles that I have ever had. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area, and we highly highly recommend!

Don Taco's has some of the best Mexican food I've had since I've been in Texas. The service is amazing they go above & beyond to make sure you leave a happy customer. The restaurant is cleaner than all places I've eaten at in a long time. The prices are great & food speaks for itself definitely recommend if you're craving a good meal & looking to get full definitely coming back soon for another plate shoutout to the GM for the samples of meat he allowed me & my little brother to try while we waited for our food.

I live just behind this place. When I travel out of state, this is the first place I want to eat when I come home. Its legit. Everything is good, fairly priced and service is top notch. My puppy loves the outdoor patio.

this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Been here twice and got the below items: sour cream chicken enchiladas verdes chicken enchiladas Combo Nachos al pastor burrito brisket taco (choice of corn or flour) I really enjoyed the enchiladas, and out of the two, the sour cream one was the better of the two. if you get a plate, it'll come with rice and beans. The burrito was decently sized and the nachos were ok, i wish they used more cheese to cover more of the chips. We also got a michelada and i'm not sure what base they use (in house or calmato), but it was really good. They also have liquor, so you can get mixed drinks or shots here. This store is located in a plaza right at the corner, near the riverside drive street.

I will be honest, I don't like having to call in orders these days because I'm worried I won't know what to order (the sides and sauces etc). That being said, the man that answered the phone was actually really helpful! He made sure to answer my questions thoroughly and was quite friendly! And it was super easy to see where to go as there's a red tent and a curbside sign at the entry door. We just let them know we were there and they brought our food right out. The food tasted way better than I expected, loved how the fajita burrito was so filling. The enchilada surprised me the most though as I was hesitant to even order it. I let the guy know when I ordered that I wanted to try it but wasn't sure if I would like the sauce. But I LOVED IT ALL!

Hands down the best authentic Mexican food in town. Friendly staff, quick service, and quality food.

This are no were close to being Mexican tacos . Gummy tortillas . when you order a potato and egg taco , you get a taco full of beans with couple of potatoes in there . Not recommended . But then again , I'm spoiled I live in Houston were we have the best tacos in the United States ! read more

Cheese and potato breakfast tacos are the best breakfast tacos I've ever had. We order them when we have guests staying with us. The rest of the menu is very good, but breakfast tacos are exceptional. Vegetarian friendly with lard free beans! Whoop! read more

I really don't like this place. We've gone there so many times because the team meets there after games, but we would never go there on our own. The one thing they really had going for them was their salsa and they recently changed that. I swear...it was so good you could eat it all on it's own! Sadly, that isn't the case anymore. I didn't eat a single chip this last trip. I was told it tasted bad, dipped my fork in it to try it and that was it...I couldn't bring myself to touch it. Too bad I bought the bigger "bowl" size. The place has ok food at best. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable (seriously, did anyone sit in them before buying them?). The tea tastes bad every time. I guess the beer is at least cold in the frosty mugs. The service there really is pretty good, so I can't fault them there. read more

We love Don Taco for a quick yet authentic meal. Have had many enchilada plates, taco plates and fajitas. All delicious. My mother loves the menuldo from this place. Anything you get I am sure you'll love. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean. We love eating on the patio when it's not too hot out. read more

The menu is EXTENSIVE. I love getting 2 beef tostadas and a frozen margarita. Everything is made fresh. My 6 year old loves both the bean and cheese nachos and the brisket burrito. The staff is friendly. The service is fast. There's just nothing to possibly complain about. read more

Meh. Not good, not bad. I had the build your own platter and got two beef tacos, a cheese enchilada, and rice and beans. Rice and beans were typical, cheese enchiladas were plain but good, and the tacos were... store bought taco shells (you know the kind) filled with the norm. Overall nothing special, probably won't come back. read more

Absolutely delicious!!!! I went for the first time a week ago, and have already been back! It's rare to find a Mexican restaurant that taste different from each other and that have that fresh, authentic taste. Their chicken fajita tacos are delicious and their queso is to die for. First off the employees Carlos & Manny are extremely disrespectful. I ordered a steak quesadilla with no beans & they gave me a burrito with no beans. When i brought it to their attention Carlos told me to take what I got because that's what I ordered. Not only did the burrito cost more than a quesadilla but he was not trying to give me a refund or what I asked for. So when I politely asked again he started arguing with me saying that i asked for a burrito & he wasn't going to change anything. I told him because of the mask maybe he did not hear me but I'm not going to eat a burrito because I don't eat them I wanted a quesadilla. Now here comes Manny & is telling me to calm down when it's his employee that's yelling at me & not giving me my refund for something I did not ask for. Manny then tells me & my friends we're banned because his employee messed up my order. Which is fine because Don Taco has roaches anyway. It's been filmed & I'm actually glad we did not get food there because many people did not have on gloves nor masks & we're in the middle of a pandemic. read more

I LOVE TACOS!!! Brisket tacos with cilantro & onions on soft corn tortillas with a side of refried beans! Excelente! When you check out a taco shop you must check the following... tacos = delicious salsa = delicious guacamole = needs a little salt, but very good margaritas = good & cheap atmosphere = clean & friendly Basically they have everything I want in a taco shop. They recognize us every time we walk in, and always ask about the family if my husband or I run in alone. Food is inexpensive and very good. Oh! Breakfast is also awesome there. The only bad thing is that sometimes it is too crowded to grab a table if you have more than 4 people. read more

Want simple ala cart Mexican, or dinner? Don Taco is the place. Want real fresh ingredients, Don Taco is the place. Like a cheap margarita every now and then, Don Taco's! It isn't fancy, it isn't a hole in the wall either. Think of taco stand food indoors (and patio). They also have two full restaurant's if you are looking for the whole ambiance of a mexican restaurant. It isn't my date night plan, but it is my hang out with the girls plan! The food is consistently good. I think it is a good value. If you compare the taco to the tacos of most fast food chains, you will actually see the meat and cheese! The Taco salad, is everything you could want in a taco salad. The giant smothered chicken burrito is good for two meals! read more

As today is Cinco de Mayo a Margarita was in order and the house pour was lovely. We shared a bottle of California Sauvignon Blanc to accompany the Ceviche Tatemado followed by the Tacos de Barbacoa which is the Tuesday lunch special. Both the ceviche and barbacoa tacos were just so enjoyable. The striped bass and octopus ceviche here is a unique preparation that sings in the tangy lime and Serrano vinaigrette in which it is prepared. The barbacoa is so flavorful and tender; and the thin, house made flour tortilla is fried crispy on the flat top before being filled. So good.

Servers provided a great experience aside from a bunch of flies (ate outside on the patio and were waving at flys most of the night). Three stars for the prices. We are an entirely vegetarian meal with no alcohol and paid $400 for a party of six...and we were sharing (yes, you read that correctly). $13 for a side of Mexican rice. $18 for essentially a side mashed potatoes. $16 for grilled vegetables. And the portions were SMALL. We were sharing across four adults and three kids and everyone only ended up getting a tiny amount. It was really difficult believing we were receiving any real value...it felt like the Don and figured out how to have unsuspecting guests pay double! It to say this isn't a legit high-end Mexican restaurant, it is. But I would more realistically describe it as a high-end steak house with wrap-around Mexican dishes (which explains why the side prices were so extreme). Kids quesadillas with steak were $17 a piece with no sides other than potato chips (a little odd given the context). Anyway, I'll end it where I began...food was good, servers were great...but just not worth the price. If the bill had been half or the portions were larger, it would have felt like we were actually getting value for our money.

I'd not only come back here next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'd be interested in opening a location in Houston if I had the money to franchise it.

The truffle fries were a massive hit and a frequent topic of conversation around the table, and even the fountain Diet Coke was perfectly calibrated. I'd be completely remiss if I didn't mention the monster rolls brought out for the table--they are giant, incredibly airy, golden popovers served with a spectacular rosemary honey butter that steals the show before the main course even arrives. For breakfast, I wanted to stay on the healthier side and ordered the Sinclair Breakfast with chicken sausage. The sausage delivered incredible flavor with a perfect, distinct peppery bite. The plate was beautifully balanced with delicate microgreens, and the breakfast potatoes were a total standout--perfectly executed with a great outer char and deep flavor. Paired with excellent, robust Lavazza drip coffee, it was a flawless start to the morning. Across both visits, the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and highly attentive with beverage refills. Top-tier service, great quality, and an absolute must-visit in Fort Worth.

A quick note on seating: the patio is lovely in theory, with the optional open windows and a breezy feel, but the chairs are not winning any comfort awards. Inside booths are the move. Also worth noting, this is Fort Worth, and once the thermometer hits triple digits, the patio conversation ends itself if the windows are open. Plan accordingly. Malai starts every table with steamed sticky rice and an eggplant dip, which is a charming little ritual and a genuinely good one. We also kicked things off with the Edamame, a heads up on the heat level there, and the Fried Imperial Rolls, filled with ground pork and shrimp and served with a sesame soy sauce. Fair warning: these do not photograph well and arrive at the table looking a little shy. Don't be fooled. They're flavorful, subtly spicy, and well worth ordering. For entrees, we tried the Basil Vegetable Fried Rice two ways, one vegan and one with chicken. The vegan version was a genuine surprise, with vegetables cooked just right and a flavor that didn't need the chicken to make its case. The mushrooms, however, had the texture of something you'd find in a hardware store. Chew at your own risk. The Green Curry, meanwhile, was a case of too much of a good thing. The curry was so heavy-handed it drowned everything underneath it. Sometimes restraint is a virtue. Save room for the Banana Pot de Crème. It's creamy, subtly sweet, and a graceful finish to the meal. The service at Malai is enthusiastic, and I do mean enthusiastic. The staff works as a team, all smiles, attentive, always nearby. Occasionally a little too nearby. More than once a plate nearly disappeared before we were done with it. It's a small complaint, and honestly a far better problem than the alternative. They're warm, cheerful, and clearly enjoy what they do, which goes a long way. Portions are generous, so order a few dishes and share the wealth. For a lunch stop between shops, Malai Kitchen punches well above its weight.
