Don Vito's was a lovely restaurant, and the staff was very accommodating as we celebrated a birthday. While I wish our group could have been seated at one table instead of two, the evening was still very enjoyable. The birthday cake that was pre-ordered through the restaurant was beautiful and delicious. One of my favorite touches was the tableside salad preparation. The salad was fresh, crisp, and loaded with all the right fixings. The bread basket also offered a wonderful variety of breads, and every selection was tasty. The steaks were tender, flavorful, and cooked well. My only criticism is the presentation--the steaks looked a bit lonely sitting by themselves on the plate. A little more visual appeal would elevate the dining experience. Overall, it was a fun night with good food, great company, and attentive service. Look forward to return again! read more

I know what you're thinking, casino restaurant, can't be all THAT! I was surprised myself that The South Point Hotel, Spa and Casino would have a great Italian restaurant. Don Vito's has an old world ambiance, I almost expected The Rat Pack to show up. Frank Sinatra would have loved this place. As good as any New York Italian. You don't need to dress up to eat here, even though it is a classy looking joint. My aunt and sister both had the linguine with clams in wine sauce. I had the Baked Ziti. Both dishes were top notch. The ziti was loaded with meatballs Italian sausage. Ricotta cheese and mozzarella baked on top. Dishes come with choice of soup or Cesar Salad prepared at the table. An exceptional Cesar at that. Don Vito's has an excellent and attentive staff. Our server Mario was wonderful. I wasn't planning on having wine, but I changed my mind after seeing almost 100 red wines on the menu. I asked for a chianti and Mario recommended a reserve. I could not tell you it's name but it was great. They only had 2 chianti and even a Valpolicella. valentines day review me and hubby decided to try this steakhouse passing through the casino. They had a 3 course meal for Valentines. Service was par- Waiter did not refill our glasses often and did not pick up plates in a timely manner. Food was also eh ok. price definitely decent especially for a "steakhouse*. It just was not enjoyable when there was a big group of elderly loud men in front of our table, and no one told them anything.... My husband and I went to Vegas for a basketball tournament. One of the parents offered to take the team to the movies at South Point. Husband and I decided to try Don Vitos on a Sunday evening. We didnt have reservations and they got us right in. We were welcomed warmly by the the waiter, I dont remember his name but he was very knowledgeable about the menu. We started off with the stuffed blossoms and they were crunchy, creamy and delicious. My husband had the lobster spinach Alfredo pasta and he wasn't a fan, he didn't read the description properly and only ate half. We also had the stuffed clams imperial and they were also delicious, highly recommend. Cesar salad was fresh and crispy and made table side. Manager came by and inquired about our meal and noticed the pasta and offered us a different plate. We declined and they took it off our bill which was very nice as it was my husband's fault. We ended the night with the lemon cake with fresh berries, get this desert, it was not too sweet, just enough tart and very soft and fluffy. My friend and I like to split entrees. We order two glasses of wine, the Gorgonzola Pear salad ($12) and the Short Rib Ravioli ($10 split charge which was fine). Service was attentive and friendly. Food was prepared just right and was delicious. This is definitely a 4-star restaurant and it shows. Total bill, including tax and tip was $104.53. Reasonable for this kind of food and service. We had been wanting to eat here for a long time and finally did have the opportunity to do it. We had reservations and got seated immediately in a nice booth at the back of the restaurant which was nice. One of the first things we always notice the attitude of the hostess, and it often indicates how your service will be (in this case she was not very personable or friendly). The food here definitely was a 4-5 star, but the service could use some help. The complimentary bread and relish were simply delicious. The bread included a normal roll, a roll I call pizza type roll, and a flat cheese cracker type bread which were all great, but what them even better was the relish, which was a mixture of olive oil, balsamic, tomatoes, garlic, and other items (this relish was divine). No butter came with our bread, and we really never had the opportunity to ask for some. We had also ordered the Alfredo (homemade noodle) with shrimp added which was delicious. The white wine clam linguine we order was also very good. The Caesar salad that they mix next to the table was one of the best we have ever had. And the birthday dessert was also very good and a nice gesture. Overall, we were really impressed with all the food and the portion sizes. The service, attentiveness and friendliness are where they fell short. I want to say they tried, but we think they were either short staffed or disorganized. Giving them the benefit of doubt, I would say they were short staffed. The server did check back with us, but not as often as we would have expected, and time between the delivery of our salad, entrees and the check were long. They also have other staff helping but they rarely cleared our finished dishes or refilled our drinks or even asked if we needed anything else. The other negative thing we noticed is there were larger groups in the dining room and a few of them were pretty loud, obnoxious and using vulgar language (I would have thought management would have said something to them). I also had a question when the server picked up my check and payment, but he ran off so quick, he did not hear me (at this point we just wanted to leave). I would have loved to rate this restaurant higher for the food, but unfortunately the service and atmosphere were big negatives (I almost gave it a 2 Star rating but was being generous with the 3 Star rating). read more

Heard good things but our experience wasn't great. My review is closer to 2.5 but bumped it to 3 without half star options. For starters we made a reservation and received the worst booth in the entire place right next to the kitchen entrance. We watched carts of food go in and out all night and employees talking back and forth. This booth shouldn't be here unless someone requests it because they enjoy being right on top of the kitchen door. This wasn't the worst part, the food was the worst part. The chicken parm was two chicken breasts. Not pounded out like they should be. Some parts of the chicken were rough. The penne was so overcooked it actually mushy. The red sauce on the penne was bitter but was told the same sauce was on the chicken parm which tasted very different. My the shrimp scampi was pasta was also very overcooked but the shrimps were undercooked. Added lots of fresh lemon to help add flavor but it was very bland as well. By far the best part was the bruschetta bread basket. The Caesar was decent as well but I've had much better. Calamari had some good pieces while others were extremely chewy. We left half our food which has never happened before and didn't take anything home. We love Italian food so much and this was the most disappointing Italian experience we've had in Vegas. Thank you for the complimentary dessert for our anniversary but again it wasn't very tasty. That part didn't surprise me as many places drop the ball on complimentary desserts. Left unsatisfied. I initially ordered the lobster with spinach fettichini alfredo wasn't to my liking. My waiter was very accommodating. I decided to try their shrimp scampi with linguini. The shrimp were succulent and the scampi sauce was garlicy, just the way I like it. My cousin ordered their chillian seabass with fresh greenbeans and lemon butter reduction. It was good. What a revelation. It was a superb experience, from the moment we sat down. First of all, even though the tables were close to each other, we could carry on a conversation without shouting. The setting was so elegant. Our service was impeccable. We noticed that the wait staff consisted of very attentive and mature and obviously very well trained people. In a flash, it was wonderful to receive a generous basket of breads with their own delicious salsa. Our water glasses were never half-full because there was always a man filling our glases. For starters, we split a very large salad garnished with pears, gorgonzola cheese and candided pecans. We could have licked the bowl. It was that good. My partner ordered his favorite, chicken parmigiana. In his mind, this was his ultimate test to see if an Italian restaurant serves good food. He was delighted that the chicken wasn't pounded and overly breaded. It was plump and juicy, served with a side order of spaghetti. He thinks it's the best chicken parm he's ever had. The restaurant stopped offering cioppino, but they do have pasta pescatore in cioppino broth. Goodness, but that was incredibly tasty with lots of shrimp, clams, mussels and fish. Surprisingly, no squid. But that was perfectly fine with me. Wish they did have scallops, though. The cioppino broth was so rich and luscious. Had more than enough leftover for the next day's dinner. A forgettable chapter in our Italian cuisine tour of Las Vegas. As part of our quest to explore every Italian restaurant in the city, a tribute to my man's love for the cuisine, we made reservations weeks in advance. We were seated beside the hallway to the kitchen where carts piled high with food clattered past us every minute or so. Usually they hit the wall and rattled our booth. Charming, right? Normally this can be forgiven with amazing food but sadly that wasn't the case. This spot could easily be mistaken for Olive Garden but with a higher price tag and even less flavor. The pasta was mushy, the calamari rough and rubbery, and the table-side Caesar lacked punch, served with watery dressing and even though it was tossed right in-front of us many of my pieces were left not coated in anything. We usually leave Italian spots with a bounty of leftovers, but not this time. My shrimp scampi was nearly inedible with overcooked pasta and shrimp that was once again, rubbery. My man's chicken parm came with thick, unpounded chicken that was very firm, paired with pasta somehow even more overdone than mine. The only memorable bite was the complimentary bread with bruschetta-style dipping oil that was very flavorful. When your free starter outshines everything else you know it's a problem. Left hungry and disappointed. If you enjoy great Italian food, look elsewhere. read more

We had a great dinner experience from the moment we walked in. We were seated at a comfortable booth, I would definitely recommending asking for one if they're available. We ordered the stuffed clams, lobster fettuccini, bone in ribeye and chose the tableside Caesar. Everything was excellent, with the steak being well seasoned and cooked perfectly to our requested temperature. My favorite was the stuffed clams though, they were stuffed full of fresh crab meat and came with a light but rich butter lemon sauce. I would definitely recommend as an appetizer. First of all may I state that for years I have been a fan of Don Vito's at the Southpoint Hotel. My friends and I would meet for dinner and blackjack for a guy's night out. All that is over. We recently went to Don Vito's only to discover they had 86'ed the Rigatoni and Sausage (aka: Sausage and Peppers over Rigatoni). That was a great dish served with black olives and delicious sausage. Instead I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. After waiting almost 30 minutes, it was at best, average. Southpoint is not only losing diners, but also blackjack players. And, the quality of cooking is very good. Service is professional and servers aim to please. But we did encounter a few service errors during our latest stays. Pasta e Fagioli was good but almost clogged with Cannellini Beans. Minestrone Soup was also bean oriented. Caesar Salads finished tableside were also well constructed, but on the second visit requested Anchovies were initially forgotten. A knife was dropped by me and taken away by our server with a promise to provide a replacement. And this occurred, but not right away. Both Veal Saltimbocca and Rigatoni & Sausage entrees were quite tasty. And Diane liked her Veal Parm Alfredo accompanied by Penne Alfredo. Entree portions were very generous. In contrast, an appetizer of Mozzarella Fritti consisted of only two small breaded and fried triangles of melted cheese. Last night I went to watch my friend play in the Beach boy tribute"good vibrations' at South Point casino. It's been a minute since I've visited the South Point, so I decided to grab some appetizers at Don Vito's, Italian restaurant. Our server, Melanie was a charm and recommended some good appetizers for the evening. We decided on a shrimp cocktail and scallop dish. The bread they served prior to the meal was warm and the spread was full of garlic, which I love. When the food arrived, we were very excited to dive in since everything looks so delicious. It ended tasting better than we imagined. We had a nice white wine to pair with our appetizers and left for the show fully satisfied. I enjoyed the lighting and menu items. In two words DON'T BOTHER. Staff is rude and will ignore you and the food is a little below average! We arrived according to the desk captain two minutes late so we would have to wait another 15 minutes. The reason we were late is because the whole front of the restaurant was crowded with people so you couldn't get to the desk so we chose to wait outside so after 3 minutes of our supposed 15 minute wait we are called back in which takes another 10 minutes to squeeze by the people we just left. No reason to hurry though as it took our waiter about 25 minutes to notice us. When he finally took our order the soup i ordered turned into a salad I didn't order. The floor manager finally got us for the Champaign that the waiter would not do. The wait between appetizers and entrees was incredible. And here is the kicker one of the people in our party wanted to order another entree but the waiter told him it was not allowed ( we want to pay you more but we are not allowed come on get real). We once again chose to dine at Don Vito's on a Monday night and you of an inquisitive nature may inquire why? First off the food is quite good, secondly it is within easy walking distance from where we were staying, thirdly menu prices are more than reasonable, quarterly the dining room is quite attractive, and fifthly service is consistently good. If those reasons are not enough, how about the fact that seniors are only charged 1/2 slot points on Mondays (that would sixthly or is it Sicily?) and (sevently) we tendered a funbook coupon in exchange for a bottle of that month's featured wine. My wife chose seafood diavolo (sauteed shrimp, scallops and lobster with linguine in a spicy tomato broth) while I found happiness in the extreme with my entree of clams and linguine. Had dinner Here before the Gary Puckett concert. Told the waiter we only had 1 hr 15 minutes to eat . Did not order drinks . Took one hour 10 minutes before we had our entree . The waiter probably forgot to put the orders in. We had 5 minutes to eat fast . While the food was good , this was a bad experience . Sent an enote to "Vanya" who was the manager listed in the card . We would like to see some type of garlic bread on the menu. For an appetizers, the stuffed clam imperial. The Gorgonzola and Pear Salad is one of the go to's. The fettuccine is well portioned and very dense and filling. I'd like to have more flavor and garlic. It does taste as if they're trying to cater to those who don't care for herbs and spices. The 5 cheese ravioli and Linguine and claims is also a good choice. The serving size is more than enough and is good. We've tried a number of items on the menu. It's been 9 years since my last review of Don Vito's so it is time for an update. I am happy to say that there is little to update - everything that was done right 9 years ago has remained. The decor is old school Italian restaurant with booths around the periphery and tables in the center. If you have been to Primarily Prime, you have seen the same decorating. In fact, the service is the same as in Primarily Prime. The wait staff is dressed in black vests with white shirts. Very attentive and excellent service throughout. They start by bringing a basket of breads that was delish. I went with the seafood diavolo. Huge portion of linguini loaded with shrimp and pieces of lobster (I asked for the scallops to be taken out) in a spicy tomato sauce - really good! Comes with a choice of soup or salad. I went with the Caesar salad. They mix it a table side - very classy and very good. Excellent choice for an upscale Italian meal. Reasonably priced considering it is in a hotel/casino. read more

Our server was excellent here. This made a big difference in the overall experience because the dishes were hit and miss. The server was attentive, had a big personality, and was always there for anything we needed. To start, they give you a bruschetta style complimentary plate - it has bread in a basket and some nice chopped tomato topper. We started with the Mozzarella Fritti, and while the exterior was crispy, it was disappointing that the center cheese was undercooked - the cheese was like a block, completely not even close to melting. This made it disappointing. The entrees: Chicken Marsala was excellent! Great sauce, tender chicken. I would definitely get this again! The Chicken Parmesan was just ok because, again, it wasn't that hot when it came out. The portion sizes of both plates were generous. I'm calling this place my ratatouille because I have never been more excited for real Italian food. Being a fine Italian restaurant, the restaurant welcomes you with in a slightly dark elegant atmosphere. As much as I want to try every single one, the one I went with was the old country lasagna. Let me just say, I dropped my fork and mouth because this was by far the best thing I've ever eaten something that felt very Italian. Some of my family members also had different foods like their Lobster with spinach fettuccine Alfredo and the linguini and clams, and I tried everything single one of them with delight. Every taste was fascinating and I love it when I can actually taste real quality from every piece of food. The lasagna was the best, lobster fettuccine was my absolute favorite, and the linguine was phenomenal. Our server also made sure that we had the best experience of the Don Vito's fine dining. I certainly got what I have anticipated, and I will say that I'm putting Olive Garden under the bus. If you want fine Italian food and have enough money, be sure you head on over to South Point Las Vegas as Don Vito's will be awaiting you. I highly recommend it. Very disappointing experience at Don Vito's on March 30, 2026. I was told there would be a 45-minute wait, gave my number to the host, Jennifer, and was told I would get a text when my table was ready. I never received a text, call, or voicemail. When I called back much later, I was told they had texted me three times and left a voicemail, but I received nothing. They confirmed they had the correct number, which makes this very confusing. I've been coming to South Point for about 19 years and have never had this issue before. I hope they fix this because something clearly went wrong. read more
