Hot Honey Pepperoni and Works
Caroline K.

I haven't found a better fast food pizza than the hot honey pepperoni here! Not only is the pizza great, but I ordered it and it was ready in 10 minutes and the server was incredibly nice! Just moved to flower mound and this is my new pizza place!

Donatos is in Texas!
John G.

I spent 14 years in Columbus, Ohio, so I'm all too familiar with Donatos - but admittedly didn't appreciate this family-owned, ~60-year-old fast-casual pizza place as much when I lived in its headquarters hub. This location is a slight drive from where I live now in Texas, so I couldn't pass up the chance to stop in and order when I was driving back from Flower Mound this past week. Donatos has a long history of being a pizza stalwart in Ohio, so it isn't surprising that it's taking its shot in the southwest. In ordering, I stuck to my ol' reliable: The Works, which is an Italian deluxe-style pizza that goes end to end with a thin crust, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and seasoning. Donatos prides itself on its fresh ingredients blending to produce outstanding flavor, and my wife and I marveled at how everything came together. I also ordered the wings to go along with the pizza since it was a longer trip home from the restaurant. At first, I was somewhat surprised by the size - they looked really small. However, once I started eating them, I realized there was a good bit of meat on the bone, and that they weren't as smallish as I initially thought. Not my favorite wings ever because of the size factor but a worthy complement to the pizza. I haven't spent as much time dining in Donatos restaurants as I usually either ate its pizza at work functions or brought it home. Funny enough on this visit, I picked up Donatos on the 4th of July when pizza and wings isn't exactly the lunch of choice. While waiting, I found the restaurant to be clean and spacious - perfectly capable of hosting large groups, families, and local youth sports teams wanting to grab a bite after practice or a game. Pricewise, you'll pay more for Donatos, but in terms of quality, it outpizzas the Hut and Papa Johns while competing favorably against wood-fired pizza joints. In terms of service, there isn't much to grade as the restaurant was wide open on a day typically reserved for hot dogs and hamburgers, so I can't speak to how well this location handles the typical hustle and bustle. The shift manager who took my order was pleasant - and seemed somewhat taken aback that I was chatting up the brand so much during my visit. Don't know what you got 'til it's gone.

My husband and I were so pleased with our recent visit to Donato's. We opted to eat there, but it seems like most patrons do take-out. The service was friendly and the pizza delicious. The store was very clean. We really enjoyed the pizza flavor - the thin crust was a welcome change to some of the other places we have been. And their sauce has a delicious robust flavor. We had a coupon to use, which made our meal (and leftovers that fed us two more meals) very inexpensive, but their regular prices are very reasonable. Very pleased!

First time having Donatos and it won't be my last. Solid thin crust pizza option with fresh toppings and doesn't leave the box covered in grease. I had 2 individual pizzas so I'd have leftovers for tomorrow. Tried Hot Honey Pepperoni and The Works. Both were good with The Works being my favorite. I also tried the meatballs for another win. Restaurant was clean, but 95% of the orders were for takeout.

Any new pizza place that decides to set up shop around here must be VERY confident in their product considering that they will be competing with the 1001 other pizza places in town. So that alone was reason enough for me to want to give them a try. It also helped that the locals, who were already familiar with this name, couldn't stop raving about them online well before the grand opening. Now that I have been a couple times I totally understand what all the excitement was about. Donatos serves the Mary Poppins of pizza - it's practically perfect in every way! I've always been a sucker for a nice thin crust, edge to edge toppings piled high, and a sauce that's on the sweeter side. Some other places have come close but Donatos gets all of it right. Of course practically perfect pizza doesn't come cheap. It's no surprise that they charge more than the bigger chains like Pizza Hut or Domino's, but when prices approach the lofty heights of i Fratelli I can only indulge every so often. They have also jumped on the bandwagon of asking customers to pre-tip for services when you order online, even for a carry out.

Hot honey pepperoni pizza (personal size), and sausage/black olive calzone

Donato's new location is up and running in Flower Mound - gotta give it a try. The personal size pizza is perfect for one person; the calzones are plenty big enough for two. The delivery was right on time and the food was still hot and fresh. Good things: - Calzone was absolutely packed with filling - Hot honey pepperoni pizza had generous proportions Wishes: - Wish the marinara was a little less thick and more flavorful - Wish the "hot" level of the hot honey pizza was hotter Overall, this is a nice addition to the pizza choices in the area.

1 of 2 locations opened up in TX. How lucky are we? Love Donato's Pizza! The dough is soft and fresher than any other pizzas I've had. The flavors are not overpowering and the small is the perfect portion. Price point is on the higher side but worth the extra couple of dollars. Will definitely frequent this venue. It's worth a drive to try Donato's. Service was quick and the restaurant was quiet and clean.

I had decent expectations based on the taste in east coast. The pies turned out to be average. The app is consistently terrible when it comes to redeeming the rewards. The service is very slow. They got good number of employees inside the kitchen but wait times for dine-in and take outs is crazy. There are some issues with the line otherwise it won't take 27 minutes for a personal pizza. I hope they improve this asap.

Takeout for delivery has been ordered and waiting for delivery for 12:30. Final review T.B.D.... ------ Delivery was prompt and pizzas were oven hot. We had the 10" Small famous thin Hot Honey Pepperoni WPepperoni, Fresh Mozzarella, Hot Honey and 10" Small famous thin Hot Chicken WHot Chicken, Jalapenos, Ranch Dressing Drizzle RPickles. Both turned out great.

Hot Honey Pepperoni and half cheese half The Works without sausage.

Spotted this little gem while next door getting donuts. From my understanding this is a newly opened pizza place that also sells baked chicken wings and sandwiches. Their indoor eating area isn't large, but it's nice and will probably accommodate maybe a total of 50 people, but it was nice and clean upon arrival. We were greeted kindly by the nice cashier who gave us a moment to look over their menu so we could decide on what we wanted to order. The four of us decided on a large honey pepperoni and a large The Works with no sausage. They don't sell fountain drinks so we all ordered their Pepsi products that were sold in plastic bottles. They have a self serve water dispenser for those that prefer water. Once our pizza was done our cashier brought our pizzas to our table. The pizza's were brought out hot and fresh and are cut into strips making it easier to handle. The pizza crust was nice and crunchy and the pizza had plenty of toppings, everything tasted delicious. While eating our cashier stopped by to make sure everything was okay which it was and also the owner/Manager, came by as well to see how everything tasted. Unfortunately we don't live close by, but when we're back in this area this will definitely be on our list to visit.

Culinary Mastery in Flower Mound: A Transcendental Pizza Experience…read more It is a rare occurrence to encounter a dining establishment that treats the humble canvas of dough, sauce, and cheese with the reverence of a fine art gallery. Yet, tucked away in a pristine, modern shopping enclave in Flower Mound, **Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza** is doing exactly that. As a connoisseur who has traversed the country in pursuit of the perfect pie, I can say with unequivocal authority: this is not merely a meal; it is a masterclass in culinary composition. The Atmosphere of Excellence From the moment you cross the threshold, the experience is curated with precision. The environment feels fresh, intentional, and inviting. However, the true heartbeat of the restaurant is the service. In an era where genuine hospitality is increasingly elusive, our server, Claudia, operated at a level of executive-tier care. Her ability to balance professional attentiveness with a warm, family-oriented touch, even proactively engaging our four-year-old with a dough ball, was a masterstroke of guest relations. The floor management followed suit, providing not just oversight, but narrative depth, sharing the remarkable history of the founder's O1 Visa, a rare, prestigious designation reserved for individuals of "extraordinary ability." It is fitting, then, that the kitchen produces work of such caliber. The Gastronomic Journey The prologue to our meal, a Caprese salad paired with house-grade bread, oil, and balsamic, set a high bar for quality. The tomatoes and mozzarella were remarkably vibrant, possessing that elusive, sun-ripened depth that screams farm-to-table integrity. Then, the protagonists arrived: The Elisa: A triumph of balance. The interplay of ricotta and mozzarella provides a lush, creamy foundation, while the white truffle oil elevates the profile without overwhelming the palate. The addition of honey and black pepper creates a complex, symphonic finish that keeps the taste buds yearning for the next bite. It is, quite simply, an exercise in culinary restraint and harmony. The Star Beckham: A visual and structural feat, the star-shaped crust, filled to the brim with ricotta and bacon, is an architectural marvel. Removing the red onions allowed the savory depth of the bacon and the brightness of the basil and ranch to coalesce into a flavor profile that feels both innovative and deeply satisfying. The Traditional Pepperoni: Even the most basic offering was executed with technical perfection. When a four-year-old, the most honest of all food critics, declares it the best pizza they have ever consumed, you know the foundation of the dough and sauce is impeccable. We were further impressed by the beverage program, specifically the Mastri Birrai Umbri Blonde Ale. Its crisp, clean finish was the perfect accompaniment to the richness of the cheeses, proving that the beverage curation is just as thoughtful as the menu design. The Final Verdict We left Flower Mound with empty boxes and full hearts, the memory of the meal serving as the primary topic of conversation for the entire duration of our road trip back to El Paso. A "great" pizza can be found in many corners of Texas, but an *extraordinary* pizza is a distinct privilege. Mister O1 does not simply feed you; they transport you. My only professional grievance is the significant distance between El Paso and Flower Mound. If you find yourself anywhere near the North Texas area, treat this as a mandatory pilgrimage. It is, without reservation, a must-visit destination for anyone who treats pizza as a serious culinary art form.

He never made us wait for anything and was very polite. 2 Stars Food: We ordered (essentially) 4 pizzas and a Caprese salad. The Caprese was fantastic. The high quality EVOO that was served with it was very fruity and delectable. We had the classic pepperoni pizza, a 1/2- 1/2 Federico and Meat Lovers 2.0, and a Maria. All three were very good. I like a little more sauce on mine with a bit more "tang" to it, but it was still good. Crust on all were that perfect crispy that would hold up to just holding it from the end crust. 1.5 Stars Overall: Good pizza, and next time we will try the "Extraordinary" pizzas which have ricotta stuffed in them. 4.5 Stars

I know my husband and I were a little disappointed at first that there was a set menu, but we decided to stay and begin our night. We had no idea it would take an hour and a half for our food to show up. And when it did well, here's how it went. My wife had the chicken piccata and I had the wise guy pizza. My wife enjoyed her plate. Based on the last time I ordered the same pizza a year ago what showed up on the table was a sad echo of something that used to be good. The sauce was very thin and to the point of almost being nonexistent. The meatballs were very stingy as if they were trying to increase their margins by short serving a basic pizza. Overall, it was very dry and lacking of any discernible taste. No doubt because it sat in the kitchen for quite awhile, given the unusual duration that it took for our food to show up. I've had better frozen pizzas from the grocery store. It was a very dry and disappointing for something that used to be overloaded with flavor, sauce and meatball chunks. It was a marked contrast from when we had been here a year ago. What used to be a regular go to has turned into a sad disappointment. I'm putting it down to perhaps they had an off night. But we're not in a hurry to come back anytime soon to see if that was the case.
