This review is solely for the Pizza we had which was the Drafthouse Deluxe. I mean SO good. We are NYers and had been searching for a pizza place forever and had relied on Zalat just because it's always reliable and consistent (unlike many pizzerias in the area they may be good one day than bad the next). We have had Vaughn's only twice now but both times have been fresh, fluffy crust, holds its slice pretty good, and delicious. We also had their wings and they were cooked just right, fall off the bone. Could have been a little more saucier for the hot sauce but it was still good! They had some Ethiopian sauce that wasn't really our kindve taste but it was a different option which we appreciate. Lastly has the garlic bread with marinara to calm our hungry stomachs and the bread was fresh and fluffy, marinara was good too. Basic, yet many restaurants have bad bread texture or marinara that tastes like ketchup. Not here. Will be back read more

It's like a craft pub type atmosphere with lots of tables and fast friendly service. Fantastic pizza with probably the best crust I've had around the metro area. The prices might seem a little high but you won't mind because you're getting a very quality product. They have an excellent draft beer selection as well. read more

Wow this is a legit pizzeria. I've tried all types of pizza all over the place and this right here is the best example of legit NY-style pizza slices. First - the place is nice and comfortable. Quick, friendly table service (Oriana, our server, was great). All types of tables, booths, bar, and outdoor tables. The menu has the full range of a whole pizzas, some salads, etc, and huge NY-style by-the-slice offerings including lunch specials. The lunch specials are actually an incredible deal. I ordered a couple of slices. Pick your toppings that range from all the usual options. I chose chicken, onion, mushrooms, and peppers. These slices must have come from a 20" pizza. The slices are huge but not overly filling because in legit NY-style they are very thin and light. Not like a cracker thin pizza, but actually thin stretched crispy but chewy foldable crust with a thin amount of sauce and cheese. Yeah, perfect. I saw Vaughn in the kitchen doing his thing. Have eaten here many times. The food and service are usually great. We ate here on 4/16/26 and it was absolutely terrible. The pizza was so overcooked that we could barely eat it. It took forever to get our food and the service was terrible. We'll be back because we know it isn't always horrible. We hope the owners see this post read more

I will not return here!! The owners have left teenagers to run and manage the business and it shows! I have been coming here for 5 years. Today the bottom of the pizza was burnt after watching the multi hair workers eat pepperoni and play on their phones behind the line. I tried Rocco's and it was awesome! The pizza was clearly better. Vaughns has become our go-to pizza locally. They're consistent in quality and have never gotten our order wrong. My husband always comments on the friendliness when he picks up our order. A rare find these days! We love their garlic bread knots !!! And you cannot go wrong with their supreme Pizza. The sausage on it is so good - this coming from someone who will never eat sausage on pizza! We do hate that they've gotten pricey but thus is the way of life it seems these days sadly. We were very disappointed this evening in our first visit unfortunately. We go to the swim school next door and wanted to try out this place next to it. Having a hungry child, I ordered ahead as a "to go" order so the pizza was ready when we arrived. When I picked up the pizza and said we were going to eat in, could we have some plates? I was told that "to go orders are not allowed to eat in." I was shocked but very calmly asked why that is? And was told, "so our dine in customers have tables." I then asked, "is this an issue on a Tuesday night?" To which again I was told, "to go orders are not allowed to eat inside." Unfortunately we will not return due to this. We spent our money on the pizza, we were going to order more food & drinks but just wanted the pizza ready for our hungry child, and were not given the opportunity to do this. We've worked in the food industry, always clean/prebus our tables, like to tip well, and was hoping to make this a weekly stop with our 2x/week swim classes. So if you're thinking of the same strategy for your child like we tried to do, just know it's "not allowed." read more

Never disappoints. The food is always fresh and hot. Vaughn's is a great local neighborhood Italian spot that always seems to hit the spot. Not pretentious at all. Lots of tables and booths plus you could sit at the bar if you choose. The garlic knots are a great way to start. The pasta dishes are quite large and they don't skimp as are the salads. Whenever I go, which is odd hours, it's usually not too crowded. The TVs are playing sports and there will be a few locals scattered about. This has been my new go to for Italian of late and I certainly recommend to others. There's always plenty of parking. read more

We've loved Vaughns for a while but over the last year or so we've began to feel more like a nuisance than a valued customer. The pizza and Stromboli are still delicious but we've got a couple other pizza places locally that offer friendly greetings and attentive care. We've noticed time and time again the patrons at the bar are treated like royalty while the families at tables just seem yo get in the way of social hour at the bar. Good, cozy neighborhood restaurant serving of a nice variety of local brews on tap and in the bottle and can. Nice variety on the menu from small sorts of pizza, no-sauce pizza, and traditional Italian pasta dishes. We were able to split a two different signature toppings on one pizzas so it was great for everybody to get a little of what they wanted. They'll even do individual slices of whatever pizza you want. I think their key ingredient is actually the dough. My kid, who is not necessarily fond of pizza crust, are it all. The waitress, who was super friendly, told us that the dough is made in house. It sure makes a difference. While I know this might not be relevant months from now and after the Coronavirus runs its course, we did notice that the hostess, who was also helping bus tables, was super quick to wipe down tables and chairs with a disinfectant and get them all cleaned up for the next customer. Good food and service. We had Stromboli, lasagna, chicken fettuccine, veggie sub. The lasagna stands out as more like layered traditional type instead of the usual strip center Italian places with nondescript pasta in an ocean of sauce. Very tasty and excellent. I had heard this place actually sold pizza by the slice, which is harder to find in this area than you would think. I stopped in just before 2pm on a Thursday. I had an appointment to get to and I just wanted a quick lunch to get me through until 5pm. The place is dimly lit with a bar, tables and booths. There were 3 televisions and a big projection on the wall. I noticed some kids games in the back corner and there was a small amount of outdoor seating through a side door. There was one server helping three tables and appeared to be one person cooking. The server was very sweet and responsive to my time crunch. I only had enough time to eat a slice, so she told me what was popular there, all of which sounded like a lot of toppings for a single slice. I asked if there were any that were ready or a limit on the toppings since that's typical of places that sell by the slice, but she basically said you can get whatever you want on there as you are paying by the topping. Her personal favorite was the sliced meatball so I went with that. A slice is $2.35 and toppings start at $1.60 each for regular and go up to $0.90 for specialty and $0.99 for premium toppings. Interestingly they can do gluten free for an upcharge, but slice options are not available for that. It's a NY slice so it ended up being too heavy and the toppings were too big to fold. Okay, lesson learned, be careful with your toppings. Just because you can put anything on it, doesn't mean you should. Since the meatballs are made for pasta, they got dried out during the cook time on the pizza. It tasted like it was a mildly spiced meatball and is probably great with pasta, but I didn't feel like it added to the pizza, it got in the way. That's understandable when you can make anything a topping, so order with restraint. The pizza itself was pretty good! I loved that they got the cook perfect and managed to get the crust crispy, but they skimped on the cheese around the edges. I can't really complain though, because it was $3.20 with tax and I was in and out of there quickly. I returned the following week, around 2:15pm on a Friday. There were a few more people here this time, but just two staff, both different than my previous visit. I saw that they have lunch combos from $6.49-$7.99 everyday and it includes a tea or a fountain drink- that's a great deal! I went with one of the lunch combos, a slice with 2 toppings, salad and a drink for $6.99. I ordered a sweet tea which at first seemed a bit over sugared, but became fairly addicting. The salad had a lot more on it than I expected included mushrooms, onions and a pepper. It's still just iceberg lettuce, so it was okay. The house dressing didn't have much flavor at all, so I would go with something else next time, he listed quite a few options. Due to my previous experience, I figured cheese or pepperoni would be the best thing to try this time. Despite being able to get 2 toppings, I was more interested in getting a good slice. I asked what their normal amount of topping was. I was slightly alarmed when he described normal as 8 or 9 pepperoni for a slice so I asked for light pepperoni. Later when he brought it to the table, he described it as a couple, but it had 6. Another good lesson, know the definitions being used by the restaurant. The pizza wasn't bad, but it was not great. It was overcooked making the slice difficult to fold. Also, the pepperoni was very overcooked making it either difficult to bite through or just easy to fall of altogether. Not to mention, it was pretty damn greasy, which the previous one wasn't. They still ran light on the cheese in my opinion, mostly at the crust and edges though. This didn't have the same potential, my first slice had. I like the small business vibe of this place and they do have reasonable prices. Since it's hard to get pizza by the slice, and they also have pasta, calzones, etc. I would be open to returning in the future. However, they have to master their topping game, there are too many great restaurants in the area to settle. read more

1st time here. Had a slice of cheese and a slice of sausage. Atmosphere: It is a draft house so there are TV screens around and a large projection on the wall. Large chalkboard that shows the "On Tap" list which looked very good. I was there on my lunch break so did not partake of any beverages, but would love to come back and have a sample or three. Food: The pizza is top notch. I have begun a journey to find great pizza and this is the first stop on my trek. So far so good because this pizza was real good. No flop. The crust was not doughy and the crisp was just right. Sauce had just the right tang and the cheese seemed to be fresh. The sausage was also good, just a little sweetness and well balanced. Service: Our service was good. Granted there was only one or two other tables at lunch service, but none the less our waitress took good care of us. Football Pizza We have been on a mission to try all the pizza in flower mound and lewisville and we are almost done . Pretty relaxed place almost to relaxed , kind of a bar type atmosphere. We went on Sunday during football games and I would have thought after seeing the TVs it would have been more crowded. On our tours of all the pizza spots we have been ordering just cheese pizzas so it would be a equal playing field trying to find favorites. I am struggling to find 1 redeeming quality that I can mention about my experience here . It was probably the least amount of effort I've ever seen go into preparing food as far as presentation, taste and quality. I feel like I ordered a sack of hot garbage . There is no way this place has 4 stars on Average unless it's friends and family . It was so bad I'm not even interested in asking for my money back . I just want to forget it ever happened. Because the pizzeria sold individual made-to-order slices, I came here with the intention of ordering one or two. An employee suggested I order the 8 inch because I would enjoy the appearance of a whole pie. The pizza arrived about 20 minutes later. The pizzeria describes itself as New York-style. Although I would order the occasional pizza for dinner while working in the Big Apple, it was decades ago. So I do not recall it being thin crusted and crispy which definitely is not my favorite crust. A customer mentioned the individual slices have a thicker crust. I can't believe I've lived here 3 years and never reviewed Vaughn's. It was the first place we went for pizza after moving from the South, and we instantly loved it. Great atmosphere, great food (garlic knots and pizza are on point) and awesome wait staff.
