Legit Korean spot since all the ajummas come here after golfing. The bossam is good and feeds probably 3-4 people. There is no way 2 people can finish this. Great service, small place, sweet owners and just overall good food too.

I LOVE Dong Nae Gil! I'm so happy to have found this restaurant, the staff have always been so kind when I've gone and the food has been absolutely amazing. I especially love the combo options on their menu, so I've been able to order many of my favorites, and the portions with the combos are still HUGE. My bibimnaengmyeon is going to last me three more meals as a leftover. The banchan was fantastic too, some of the best eomuk I've had hands down, I don't know what they do to it but it's fantastic. When we finished several banchan too the waitress was kind enough to refill them. Looking forward to my next visit. FIVE STARS!!!!!

very homey, feels like a neighborhood korean restaurant i'd go to in korea i think this place offers some dishes that i'd say are pretty hard to find at other korean restaurants like the braised monkfish, which is super hearty and feels healthy because there's so much beansprouts LOL really good tho but could be an acquired taste tbh. also had the cheonggukjang which is definitely a very strong flavor, it's great but very fermented so i'd only try it if you're really into that.

Hands down the best bossam and Korean stew I have ever had. Dong Nae Gil is where it's at!!! They have amazing bossam perfectly portioned for one person that you can order as a combo with a classic Korean stew. My go to is the soybean paste stew. This place tastes delicious, has incredible side dishes, and has affordable prices. What more can you ask for in life?! # 64 - grilled fish (mackerel) + kimchi stew # 60 - cabbage wraps w/ steamed pork & kimchi + soybean paste stew Instagram: @jessgoeat

This place is awesome if you want tasty Korean food. I got the spicy cold noodles with beef bulgogi. This was delicious especially on a hot summer day with a kick of spice. It's not spicy to the point where your mouth is on fire. Just a hint that settles in the back of your taste buds. The service was fast. The banchan are a must eat along side with your meal bringing out that umami flavor with each bite. Great place to bring with friends and family.

In the heart of Gardena is an inconspicuous Korean restaurant that screams authenticity! Walk inside and you will find small groups of Koreans , enjoying the multitude of items on their menu. Honestly, I have No idea what o was eating, but it was so tasty and will definitely be back for more!

Stopped by this place on the way to LAX for a quick dinner - it wasn't busy when we got in around 5:30pm on a Sunday but when we left there was a small line. We got the Galbi and the black goat stew - but overall I thought the dishes were pretty average compared to places in Koreatown. Rounding up to 4 stars because the service was friendly and efficient, and they gave us a lot of banchan.

This place is my Korean soul food spot. It has a very mom and pop vibe and all the workers are Korean ajummas there so you already know the food is gonna be bomb. I've been here a handful of times it's on the side of a small lowkey plaza. The bossam is great but I think my favorite there is actually the black goat stew. It's a great pick me up on a cold day or if you're tired and hung over. If you order the combo there's so much food. Every time I go here it's basically two meals. Their Banchan is also really good and there's an abundance of options.

They said closed almost an hour earlier, but allowed Korean men in!
    Vivân D.

Stopped by at 8:18pm tonight. Two ladies turned us away. They said "closed"! The sign clearly says "close at 9:00pm". Seemed like they just want to close at anytime. Then we saw 2-3 Korean men walked in. I guess they can't b.s. the Korean men. We like the food, but this kind of service is not worth my patronage.

This Korean restaurant is nearby the corner of Western Avenue and Marine Avenue. You should not have any difficulty finding your parking as there is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant, but you may also try to find your parking in the back of the shopping plaza if you happen to visit during busy hours. They offer many authentic Korean dishes like Korean BBQ, fish dishes, soups, cabbage wraps, steamed pork, Korean pancakes, noodles, and etc. You will also receive an ample amount of Banchan (A collective name for small side dishes served along with cooked rice in Korean cuisine.). They have practically everything except Soon-Tofu (You can visit the Tofu Village located in the same shopping plaza if you are craving Soon-Tofu.). They also offer some excellent combos as you may want to try two different main dishes st the ssme time! Lastly, but not least, they offer a very generous beverage menu that includes some popular Korean alcoholic beverages. Their service is friendly and efficient. And the food is served promptly after placing your orders. Out of many Korean restaurants on Western Avenue in the city of Gardena, I certainly would like to say that this one is one of the good places to visit when you are craving for some real authentic Korean food. I hope you will give it a try when you are in the city of Gardena!

We've visited this place a handful of times. The proprietors are very friendly and the service quick and efficient. The food is delicious and always hits the spot. It's not a fancy place, but it's a nice neighborhood joint. This visit we ordered: Chicken and rice soup Bossam with soybean stew We must've been hungrier than we realized. We finished everything; and, I rarely finish my food at one of these places! It was a satisfying early dinner. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with ample parking.

The broth is silky smooth, rich, soothing, and honestly tastes wonderful on its own. But of course the salt, pepper, and plate of chopped green onions really amplify and improve the overall dish. Purple rice and banchan were delicious as well. I love how thick and crunchy their radish is and I loved pouring some of those juices into my broth about halfway through finishing. Kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and fish cake were so so addicting. Service was impressively quick. I came in while the Mexico vs. South Korea World Cup was broadcasted so the energy in the restaurant and servers was ELECTRIC. It also seemed to include some new items, or at least ones that weren't printed out on the placemats. We've previously tried their cold noodles, galbi, hot stone bimbimbap, tofu soup and seafood pancake. All are pretty good but the cold noodle is our favorite. This time we ordered their fishcake kimbap and the cold noodle and galbi combo. I previously saw photos of their kimbap but didn't see it on their menu until now so I was excited to try it. It comes with 20-24 pieces and a side of soup, quite a lot actually for one person. The kimbap was as expected, it was flavorful, had a slight crunch (from the pickled radish) and didn't fall apart easily while eating. It comes with a dipping sauce but it wasn't particularly noteworthy and I didn't feel it is required to use. The cold noodles were a bit different this time but overall had the same flavor. It comes with half an egg, pickled vegetables, slices of cucumber, and slices of meat in an icy broth with buckwheat noodles. Be sure to add the mustard and vinegar for added flavor. The side of galbi was as expected, but doesn't arrive sizzling like at many other Korean restaurants. The flavor can vary, sometimes more flavorful than other times but overall it still pairs well with the cold noodle. Service can be a bit spotty, especially when they only have one server doing everything. It can be hard to flag someone down so be prepared to sit around for a while if they have less staff and many customers. Overall not a dealbreaker but just something to be aware of.

We gave this place a try because we were excited to see they have Rice Wine here (since most of the mainstream KBBQ places didn't have this), and we were satisfied beyond our expectations. Parking: A very small dim lot next to the restaurant. Right below the small sign that sits above it. Ambience: We came on a Saturday night (7:00pm) expecting busy wait times but we called in and there was no wait! We were immediately seated. It's a very small restaurant, the booths are big enough to fit a family but bigger parties may need to call in to see if space is available. The vibes are especially different from most bigger and popular places but this qualifies as a hidden gem for sure. Service: Quick and nice! Second time coming to a place where they cook it for you at some points and serve you. They check on you often enough and were quick to see you get all that you ordered. Food: Absolutely nothing I've never had before, we knew we wanted brisket and pork belly, we skipped out on the combos + intestine sections bc of this. Luckily our two meat combo qualified us to also receive a soybean paste soup, steamed egg, and corn cheese for free! We additionally added rice paper to our order for a small charge. The menu is vast and I would like to come back here to try their different meats. I have never had a more flavorful brisket in my KBBQ experience before and the pork belly was thick enough and had that chewiness texture that made it so enjoyable. Employee was nice enough to inform us that the soup + steamed egg are carefully cooked with real flavorful ingredients, so expect high-quality. We didn't go into this place expecting AYCE since we believe places that offer à la carte specializes in quality, so please come with the same idea if you choose to go here! Regardless, our small bodies were filled by how much food we received! Overall, I gave this place a chance despite its smaller reviews, smaller atmosphere, and a generally smaller presence this had in comparison to its competitors. I would suggest you do the same too!

It's always nice seeing the same servers over the years since they recognize us and always make sure we have a great dining experience. I almost always order the spicy pork BBQ combo, which comes with spicy pork and a soontofu. I like switching up the soontofu flavors each visit, and this time I got the kimchi pork with medium spice. Everything was delicious as always, comforting, flavorful, and super satisfying. The banchan really deserves a mention too -- the side dishes are such a great addition to the meal that sometimes I feel like I could make a whole meal out of just those alone. Two of us went with the galbi combo, another friend ordered the bibimbap, and I chose the soondubu with chicken. The banchan arrived almost immediately after we ordered and included japchae, bean sprouts, kimchi, cucumbers, fish cake, and a few other small sides. While the kimchi and fish cake were enjoyable, I found the cucumbers and japchae to be a bit underwhelming. The meal also came with purple rice, but it seemed like there wasn't enough black rice mixed in to give it that signature color. The chicken in my soondubu was tender, and I especially enjoyed the pan fried tofu side dish as one of the banchan. Service was a little mixed. One of the waitresses was warm and friendly, while the other seemed less welcoming. They do offer value lunch combo Monday through Friday, but since we visited on a Sunday, the combo was around $30, which felt a bit pricey for what we received. Overall, I'd give it 3.5 stars.
