    Banchan

Our favorite neighborhood sullungtang spot! It's in the corner of the Tokyo central plaza and service is always so friendly (family run). Inside is really homey with good seating. We always get the Galbitang and it always hits the spot!! Their banchan compliments really nicely and they also provide complimentary barley tea with your meal. I don't need to add any salt or pepper to the Galbitang since it's already so flavorful and naturally sweet. Comes with the choice of purple or white rice. Have yet to try oth or dishes!

This place is small and tuck away in a shopping corner, but the services was the best, seen like a great mom and pop place. Forgot what I order but it was all delicious, when with a group of 4 and we family style the meal, best way to try all the amazing dishes.

Fresh and authentic Korean food! My favorite was forsure the seafood pancake! It was full of seafood and extremely crispy. I wished it was a bigger portion though! The Sullungtang was clean tasting and warm. A great way to start the meal. We also got the cold noodles which were perfectly spicy and chewy! I really love the Banchan the most! Their japchae was really good!

Ordered the Galbi-jjim and it was so tender and flavorful! The ribs were fall off the bone. Add cheese for extra flavor and a fire show. The side dishes were tasty. Service was good. Will be back to try the soup and other dishes!

Just so comforting, so delicious. I'm so glad that the weather is getting a little cooler because it gives me a chance to visit Wooga! The restaurant is tucked away in a corner of Pacific Square, brightly lit and super welcoming atmosphere. Paper menu/placemats are already on the table along with your cutlery. A pitcher of cold tea (I think it's buckwheat though I never asked) is brought to you. It's so refreshing! I got the #13 Pork Guk-bap with purple rice and my friend got the #20 (?) Bibimbap also with purple rice. And just look at all the beautiful banchan. I love them all. You'll experience great service when you come to Wooga. This is the kind of restaurant where you can have a favorite to order all the time or try something new. Support local, support Gardena businesses and visit Wooga Sullungtang!

Home-y mom and pop w/ tasty food. I like the ban chan and barley tea tooo - Galbi jjim $80.99 - perfect for 3-4 people. So yummy and perfectly seasoned and tender. The tteok was plump and oh so chewy. Carrots, onions, and potatoes were cooked through as well. would def get again - Yanji Sul lang tang $17.99 - ox bone broth could be a hit or miss because it's quite light in flavor. for me, adding just a touch of salt and lots of pepper made the broth just perfect for a rainy Friday. I didn't expect the chewy noodles but it was great along with the decent amount of meat. would get again - Bibim Naemyeon $17.99: not bad but prob wouldn't get again The auntie and uncle that clapped when I handed the check to my SO (lol) was so cute. Service was a bit slower but we didn't mind. Parking is plentiful in the plaza. SO and I would def come back!!

Ox bone soup with fatty beef brisket and banchan

Wooga Sullungtang is a little mom and pop shop tucked away in the corner of a large plaza, next to a dim sum place. It's known for its ox bone soup, so I ordered it with fatty beef brisket. I appreciated also getting complementary banchan and barley tea while I waited for the soup. The ox bone soup came piping hot; the broth was comforting and clean, with plenty of beef brisket and noodles inside. However, the beef brisket was tough and dry, which wasn't very pleasant. Overall, food was decent, service a bit slow (despite few people when I went), and I recommend supporting a local business!

Amazing restaurant for Korean comfort food. Their kimchi are made in the house and super yummy! I had: 1. Ox bone soup with mixed meats (yangji, chadol, ox knee) 2. Spocy galbi-jjim - thinly sliced braised spicy beef short ribs

    Galbi-jjim

TL;DR - Their galbi-jjim is amazing I always come here for their galbi-jjim. It is so FREAKING delicious! It comes out sizzling on it's own stone? plate. The meat is really tender and falls off the bone. It's savory, slightly salty, and fatty! The one they have here is meant for 2 people but if it came to it, I could eat all of it myself... without hesitation. In fact, we had to order some appetizers to ensure everyone at the table was full lol. The service is quick and friendly. The owner (older Asian guy with a lot of energy..I THINK it's the owner at least) is always there and he's very entertaining. If you add cheese to your bowl, he'll bust out his hand torch and melt it in front of you. Ambiance is on the slightly noisier end. Theres enough space in there for 10 parties or so, and they have Kpop music videos playing on their TV (so be sure to position yourself strategically at the table for optimal entertainment :D)

Not everything should be salty or sweet.

Typical Korean restaurant. We ordered the sullungtang as it's their signature dish. Taste wise, it wasn't bad. It wasn't great but wasn't bad. My only gripe on the soup itself was it came salted. 1 swirl of salt from the table is usually not enough salt.. but at this place, half a scoop will more be plenty. The kimchee side dishes.. kimchee and radish. Overly sweet. The sweetness from the radish should suffice but this was a tad too sweet for my taste. Service was decent. I would go back.. but def would not be my first choice

The restaurant feels a little run down, but that may be part of its charm. The food was clean and simple in a comforting way, like grandma's homemade cooking. If I have to say anything. The deep fried pork cutlet was a slightly overcooked and the sauce was not my favorite, but all the soups were good! What definitely stood out was the service! Our server... maybe the owner? He had such a bright, kind energy, really made it hard to criticize anything. We might stop by again if we are in the area.

The restaurant interior was very vibrant. It puts you at a pleasant mood while enjoying your meal. The background noise was moderate, which you could carry a conversation with your friends or family. The restaurant utilizes individual table tablet to place orders. This system is ok but lacking some features. It would be helpful that you can check to see what you have already ordered, to prevent repetitive orders. Right now, you can only check by confirming with a waitress. The service was good, they would check a d refill the side dishes and tea. The side dishes were served before the meal, there were 8 in total, which it was very proper. The main course was served within timely manner. I seafood pancake was delicious. The buck wheat cold noodle was light and perfect for a hot summer evening. The portion was just about right. The price may be slightly higher but well worth it. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. 4.8 out of 5

The service here is so wonderful, the staff is super funny, attentive, and kind! 5/5 - Sullungtang, so flavorful even without seasoning! I was so impressed by the meaty flavor. It goes super well with their kimchi and radish kimchi banchan. 4/5 - Galbi Jjim, our mistake for ordering the medium spice level. It was too spicy for us, but the meat, rice cakes, and potatoes were cooked to perfection and very delicious! 5/5 - Seafood pancake, on the thicker side but full of mini seafood, crispy all on outside, and kind of crunchy like bindaetteok? 3/5 - Corn cheese, too sweet for my liking. It tasted like a lot of sugar was added.

We gave this place a try because we were excited to see they have Rice Wine here (since most of the mainstream KBBQ places didn't have this), and we were satisfied beyond our expectations. Parking: A very small dim lot next to the restaurant. Right below the small sign that sits above it. Ambience: We came on a Saturday night (7:00pm) expecting busy wait times but we called in and there was no wait! We were immediately seated. It's a very small restaurant, the booths are big enough to fit a family but bigger parties may need to call in to see if space is available. The vibes are especially different from most bigger and popular places but this qualifies as a hidden gem for sure. Service: Quick and nice! Second time coming to a place where they cook it for you at some points and serve you. They check on you often enough and were quick to see you get all that you ordered. Food: Absolutely nothing I've never had before, we knew we wanted brisket and pork belly, we skipped out on the combos + intestine sections bc of this. Luckily our two meat combo qualified us to also receive a soybean paste soup, steamed egg, and corn cheese for free! We additionally added rice paper to our order for a small charge. The menu is vast and I would like to come back here to try their different meats. I have never had a more flavorful brisket in my KBBQ experience before and the pork belly was thick enough and had that chewiness texture that made it so enjoyable. Employee was nice enough to inform us that the soup + steamed egg are carefully cooked with real flavorful ingredients, so expect high-quality. We didn't go into this place expecting AYCE since we believe places that offer à la carte specializes in quality, so please come with the same idea if you choose to go here! Regardless, our small bodies were filled by how much food we received! Overall, I gave this place a chance despite its smaller reviews, smaller atmosphere, and a generally smaller presence this had in comparison to its competitors. I would suggest you do the same too!

We ordered the xiao long bao, broccoli beef, beef rolls, and chicken chow mein. The xiao long bao was excellent with a good amount of soup in each dumpling, and the beef rolls were probably my favorite item, especially dipped in a mix of black vinegar and soy sauce. The broccoli beef had a nice flavor, though I wished it had a little more meat. The chicken chow mein was the weakest dish for me: the noodle texture was great, but the overall flavor didn't stand out as much as I expected. Ordering was easy and the menu was very approachable thanks to the pictures. The restaurant is on the smaller side, which actually made it easier to get a server's attention when needed. Food also came out pretty quickly. The ambiance is straightforward and comfortable -- nothing fancy, just a solid neighborhood restaurant. Because it's small, you may have to wait if it gets busy, but tables seemed to turn over quickly thanks to the fast service. One practical tip: the portion sizes are bigger than they look. We had a table for two and ended up with dishes crowding the table pretty quickly. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back.
