We got the medium spicy galbijjim to share. The meat was super tender and the dish was flavorful all around. Portions ended up being way bigger than we expected, so much that we had to take leftovers home. The owner ended up helping us repack everything since our attempt was pretty rough. He laughed at us but made sure nothing would leak in the bag before we left. It really has that mom and pop shop feel. I'm a huge fan of Korean cuisine and this place kept popping up on my homepage. It's been on my list of places to try for some time and I'm so glad I could finally make the trip out. Wooga Sullungtang is officially one of my top places to grab some ox bone soup without having to deal with a longer, traffic-ridden drive to K-Town. The broth is silky smooth, rich, soothing, and honestly tastes wonderful on its own. But of course the salt, pepper, and plate of chopped green onions really amplify and improve the overall dish. Purple rice and banchan were delicious as well. I love how thick and crunchy their radish is and I loved pouring some of those juices into my broth about halfway through finishing. Kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and fish cake were so so addicting. Service was impressively quick. I came in while the Mexico vs. South Korea World Cup was broadcasted so the energy in the restaurant and servers was ELECTRIC. The best place for sullungtang in the south bay! This is my go to place when I want a homey, comforting meal out. Food: I always order the lean brisket sullungtang when I'm here. I love coming here, as the food is consistently great. The brisket is really tasty and they give you a good portion of it. Soup is always hot, not lukewarm which I appreciate. I genuinely think their sullungtang is the best I've had! I was really happy that this time, they had purple rice. The past few times, they only had white rice, so this was such a great change! I was sick and searching for ginseng chicken soup. Yelp brought me to Wooga! We got the #9 ginseng chicken soup, beef galbi-jjim, and oxtail soup. It came out to $157 for the 3 items, so def a bit pricey but it was a lot of food. The soup was delicious and warming. Definitely what I needed! The galbi-jjim was big enough for 3-4ppl and very flavorful. The only disappointing thing was the banchan! I don't know if it was a packaging error, but we only got kimchi, radish, and jalapeño/onions in soy sauce. They gave us a lot of each, but where was the fish cake? Potatoes? Pickled cucumbers?? I'm seeing them in the dine in photos, I hope they give them for takeout too..I'll have to ask for next time. Just so comforting, so delicious. I'm so glad that the weather is getting a little cooler because it gives me a chance to visit Wooga! The restaurant is tucked away in a corner of Pacific Square, brightly lit and super welcoming atmosphere. Paper menu/placemats are already on the table along with your cutlery. A pitcher of cold tea (I think it's buckwheat though I never asked) is brought to you. It's so refreshing! I got the #13 Pork Guk-bap with purple rice and my friend got the #20 (?) I appreciated also getting complementary banchan and barley tea while I waited for the soup. TL;DR - Their galbi-jjim is amazing I always come here for their galbi-jjim. It is so FREAKING delicious! It comes out sizzling on it's own stone? plate. The meat is really tender and falls off the bone. It's savory, slightly salty, and fatty! The one they have here is meant for 2 people but if it came to it, I could eat all of it myself... without hesitation. In fact, we had to order some appetizers to ensure everyone at the table was full lol. The service is quick and friendly. The owner (older Asian guy with a lot of energy..I THINK it's the owner at least) is always there and he's very entertaining. The broth itself was very clean. I forgot the exact name of the oil (lol oops) that I added to give it more flavor. The noodles and beef brisket were cooked well. 2) Spicy Jjimdak - braised spicy chicken drumsticks. This was HUGE! Get your cameras ready because they torch the cheese in front of you! It's really sad that it has taken me so long to review this restaurant. I've enjoyed countless amazing meals at this place over the past few years. The family that owns the place is super nice and really treat you like family. The food here is the real star of the show. My go to favorites here are the banchan, I said it, it's always really good. Came to pick up Korean food for my mom's birthday because she was craving Korean. I had the best spicy galbijim I've ever had. Like legit for a hot sec, I was thinking how are they charing $80 for this dish... I figure splurge for momma's birthday even though she wasn't even the one who ordered the signature dish. This place has some of the best Korean soups in town, sullungtang is super tasty and clean, broth will warm those weary bones! I don't k ow the name of it but my wife loves the dumpling and rice cake soup, so filling and delicious. I recently tried the pork gukbap and my goodness, the most tender pork belly, plus you get fresh sliced garlic and jalapeños, ssamjang sauce, plus some of their tasty kimchi put all that in one bite and you'll be sent to paradise. We got the galbijjim spicy instead of medium spicy - had a generous amount of meat but I didn't enjoy the marinade very much. It was a good level of spice but a little too salty.
