My wife told me there was this really great Korean soup place months ago but she couldn't remember the name. Pulled up to this place and she said "This is that place I was telling you about" emphatically. The YukDaeJang (shredded beef soup w/ tomato base) is really good and worth the order. Wife also got the white broth soup and it is solid in flavor. 10/10 recommend!

So good I went twice! I love their cold noodles. Parking is easy. Even though the lot is small there's usually a spot available. Service is friendly and their food hits the spot when I feel like eating cold noodles on a hot day.

Soooooo yummy and comforting. I love coming here to get the Bossam! The Dumpling and Rice Cake in Ox Bone Broth is also very delicious. All of the sides are fresh and flavorful. Just the perfect meal. Service is always amazing and the restaurant is very clean and tidy. I love it here!

Located in an unassuming plaza in Gardena is Yuk Dae Jang. We love coming here! Service is fast and friendly and the food is good. An underrated item is the cold noodles here. We alwasy get the Bossam with the Cold Noodles. It's a good value and we always have leftovers. Last time we were there, they had a promotion for free steamed dumplings with 2 entree's. We always love coming here and we'll be back soon!

Parking is located in a small shopping center with other places to eat . Service: we were promptly greeted at the door by a young man who I must say was very polite I arrived around 8:30 because of traffic and I felt bad because I knew they closed at 9pm. I didn't want the young man to have to wait for me to eat. He immediately told us not to rush and take our time that he didn't mind as long as we enjoyed our food. He kept the refills coming of everything and anything we needed or were running low on. I will definitely be going back that is the kind of service I enjoy. Ambience: loved the music they were playing cute place to eat very very welcoming

Loved their pork belly! It comes on a steamer and it is so soft and well seasoned. We used to order their yukgaejang kalgooksoo and cold noodle but we decided to just stick to the pork belly from now on. I believe that's their best dish~ the restaurant is clean, servers are nice and they spoke English when we went. nice big parking lot so no worries there.

Food: this is one of my favorite Korean restaurant chains, the Gardena location is so close to where my family lives, and we come here fairly often. Everytime, the food is consistent and delicious, really hits the spot for Korean comfort food craving. My favorite is the yukgaejang kalgooksu, which is a great mixture of hot spicy soup and yummy chewy noodles. If I come with a group, then we also order bossam to share with others, the meat is always so juicy and tender. Price: the yukgaejang costs about $18-20, whereas bossam costs about $18-47 depending on the size of the plate. Sorta pricey, but their portions are huge, and I always take the rest for to go, it makes a very nice second meal Ambiance: located within a mostly Korean-centered outdoor shopping plaza, the restaurant itself is fairly small with only about 6 ish tables inside. But had no trouble getting seated, never had to wait too long. Family friendly environment with comfort foods, but not ideal for date nights. Service: great and very attentive, checking in on us to make sure we have everything we need. Parking, the shopping plaza has ample parking spaces in various corners, had no trouble finding a spot every time I came here

Korean penicillin. At least, that's what my Mark claims. He craved a spicy soup to try and battle a head cold that so far has eliminated a box of Kleenex and a good amount of Tylenol. His misery made it easy for me to make the trip to pick up a bowl of YukGaeJang original with Ramen, extra spicy, of course. I hoped the soup, both red hot and red in color, would rid the ill spirits out of his body...and it may have done that. Apart from the gosari being a bit tough to eat (it was fairly simple to pluck it out), he enjoyed the soup for 2 meals. I liked that I got a small break from cooking, but honestly, I missed the heavenly aromas from the kitchen when there's cooking going on. I ordered online and made the drive to Gardena to pick it up. Simple, no fuss, no nonsense either, I was in and out in 9 seconds. Plus, I was greeted with a smile, and the sweet lady behind the counter didn't bat an eye when I politely asked her to teach me the proper way to pronounce "yukgaejang". If another cold makes its appearance, he would likely visit again for another round of the original soup. I'm not a huge fan of $29 price tag (his order was just soup that comes with petite sides/banchan of kimchi and fish cake), but these days, prices are what they are. Could I teach myself to make this soup? Probably, but then I'd have to do the dishes. Go here for the convenience, but stay for the tasty original spicy YukGaeJang.

Yak dae jang is located in a small mall and the restaurant itself is relatively small. We got sitted right away and loved how the service was on the faster side. We ordered the army stew pot and steamed dumplings. The foods were decent. Nothing really special about the foods but if you want your Korean fix, not a bad place to go

Was craving some Korean food and stopped by after flying into LAX. We ordered the Korean ox bone soup and a large order of pork belly. The restaurant only has about 6 tables but service was fast and it shares a large parking lot with some other restaurants. Food came with some side dishes that were all tasty and the portions were more than enough for 2 people. The bossam comes with a bunch of its own sides like cabbage, jalapeños, garlic, ssamjang, and salted shrimp, all to make the perfect wrap. A small or medium order would have been enough. The soup was also good and comforting.

I did not know such an amazing korean restaurant existed in Gardena. South Bay never ceases to surprise me with all the amazing food options. Gives me another excuse to not want to leave. So in case you're wondering, Yuk Dae Jang is korean. I will say this now, the noodle soup was amazing, the bossam was amazing, everything was amazing. I simply want to come back again and again. Flavor's on point, service is on point, and, well, company was on point cause I ate with my gf and her parents, making for a perfect lunch after a long trip out of town. There's a whole lot of parking so you'll be just fine. Otherwise, there's nothing to complain about, just good food, good vibes, good time.

Just got back from out of town and on the way home from LAX and was looking for my usual place but they closed on Sunday. Stumbled into this place in Gardena and it was bright clean and modern. Not a big place but around 10 tables, the staff are young and polite with a quick ordered, we got the foods within 10mins. We ordered medium size of pork belly with condiments and it was very flavorful and tasty. We also got a spicy original Yukgaejang, surprisingly it was delicious and just perfect to warm up your belly in cold weather, so glad we ordered this noodle soup. And for snack, we tried the squid dumpling (forgot what it called) but it was very tasting and big. So glad we stumbled into this place and definitely come back again to try other dishes for sure.

My friend introduced me to this gem yesterday when she took me out for my birthday dinner! Sooo yummy!! This is located in Gardena (about 10ish minutes away from where my friend lives). We came at around 1:00PM on a Thursday and there was no wait! We opted for the Small Bossam & we also ordered the original YukGaeJang with glass noodle. This definitely got my Korean food fix in! The small bossam and the yukgaejang was the perfect amount for two girls. The service here was amazing! The food came out super fast and the workers were super attentive. The broth in the yukgaejang was flavorful & comforting. I don't eat Korean food often but it was so good that I'm still thinking about this meal today. Will definitely come back soon whenever I'm in the area visiting my friend! :)

The broth is silky smooth, rich, soothing, and honestly tastes wonderful on its own. But of course the salt, pepper, and plate of chopped green onions really amplify and improve the overall dish. Purple rice and banchan were delicious as well. I love how thick and crunchy their radish is and I loved pouring some of those juices into my broth about halfway through finishing. Kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and fish cake were so so addicting. Service was impressively quick. I came in while the Mexico vs. South Korea World Cup was broadcasted so the energy in the restaurant and servers was ELECTRIC. It also seemed to include some new items, or at least ones that weren't printed out on the placemats. We've previously tried their cold noodles, galbi, hot stone bimbimbap, tofu soup and seafood pancake. All are pretty good but the cold noodle is our favorite. This time we ordered their fishcake kimbap and the cold noodle and galbi combo. I previously saw photos of their kimbap but didn't see it on their menu until now so I was excited to try it. It comes with 20-24 pieces and a side of soup, quite a lot actually for one person. The kimbap was as expected, it was flavorful, had a slight crunch (from the pickled radish) and didn't fall apart easily while eating. It comes with a dipping sauce but it wasn't particularly noteworthy and I didn't feel it is required to use. The cold noodles were a bit different this time but overall had the same flavor. It comes with half an egg, pickled vegetables, slices of cucumber, and slices of meat in an icy broth with buckwheat noodles. Be sure to add the mustard and vinegar for added flavor. The side of galbi was as expected, but doesn't arrive sizzling like at many other Korean restaurants. The flavor can vary, sometimes more flavorful than other times but overall it still pairs well with the cold noodle. Service can be a bit spotty, especially when they only have one server doing everything. It can be hard to flag someone down so be prepared to sit around for a while if they have less staff and many customers. Overall not a dealbreaker but just something to be aware of.

We gave this place a try because we were excited to see they have Rice Wine here (since most of the mainstream KBBQ places didn't have this), and we were satisfied beyond our expectations. Parking: A very small dim lot next to the restaurant. Right below the small sign that sits above it. Ambience: We came on a Saturday night (7:00pm) expecting busy wait times but we called in and there was no wait! We were immediately seated. It's a very small restaurant, the booths are big enough to fit a family but bigger parties may need to call in to see if space is available. The vibes are especially different from most bigger and popular places but this qualifies as a hidden gem for sure. Service: Quick and nice! Second time coming to a place where they cook it for you at some points and serve you. They check on you often enough and were quick to see you get all that you ordered. Food: Absolutely nothing I've never had before, we knew we wanted brisket and pork belly, we skipped out on the combos + intestine sections bc of this. Luckily our two meat combo qualified us to also receive a soybean paste soup, steamed egg, and corn cheese for free! We additionally added rice paper to our order for a small charge. The menu is vast and I would like to come back here to try their different meats. I have never had a more flavorful brisket in my KBBQ experience before and the pork belly was thick enough and had that chewiness texture that made it so enjoyable. Employee was nice enough to inform us that the soup + steamed egg are carefully cooked with real flavorful ingredients, so expect high-quality. We didn't go into this place expecting AYCE since we believe places that offer à la carte specializes in quality, so please come with the same idea if you choose to go here! Regardless, our small bodies were filled by how much food we received! Overall, I gave this place a chance despite its smaller reviews, smaller atmosphere, and a generally smaller presence this had in comparison to its competitors. I would suggest you do the same too!

The customer service was greats The girl who helped me answered all my questions and was very polite. Keep in mind they still have to fry your chicken so it's about a 10-20 minute wait. I wasn't very hungry and wanted to grab something to take home. I tried the garlic soy tikkudak chicken. Apparently this version is fried then baked so it's more crispy. The wings are yummy. They are crispy and the soy gsrlic is slightly too spicy for me. But I'm a wuss at spice so take it with a grain of salt. It's still worth a try though. I'll definitely come back to try more items!

Tofu Village is one of those places I've been going to for so long that I honestly can't remember…read morewhen I first started coming here. It's always nice seeing the same servers over the years since they recognize us and always make sure we have a great dining experience. Even though prices have gone up a bit since I first started coming, the quality of the food has never changed, so it's still completely worth it to me. I almost always order the spicy pork BBQ combo, which comes with spicy pork and a soontofu. I like switching up the soontofu flavors each visit, and this time I got the kimchi pork with medium spice. Everything was delicious as always, comforting, flavorful, and super satisfying. The banchan really deserves a mention too -- the side dishes are such a great addition to the meal that sometimes I feel like I could make a whole meal out of just those alone. The service here is consistently great, and the food usually comes out pretty quickly. It's easy to wave down a server if you want more side dishes or need anything else, and I also appreciate that they leave a pitcher of water at the table so you don't constantly need refills. The restaurant ambiance itself is simple, but the food is really what makes this place shine. One tip: come during lunch if you can since they offer the same great combos for a lower price. Overall, this is a spot I'll always keep coming back to.

This is a small, family-owned Korean tofu house serving a variety of soondubu soup, protein combos,…read moreand bibimbap. Our group ordered a little bit of everything. Two of us went with the galbi combo, another friend ordered the bibimbap, and I chose the soondubu with chicken. The banchan arrived almost immediately after we ordered and included japchae, bean sprouts, kimchi, cucumbers, fish cake, and a few other small sides. While the kimchi and fish cake were enjoyable, I found the cucumbers and japchae to be a bit underwhelming. The meal also came with purple rice, but it seemed like there wasn't enough black rice mixed in to give it that signature color. The chicken in my soondubu was tender, and I especially enjoyed the pan fried tofu side dish as one of the banchan. Service was a little mixed. One of the waitresses was warm and friendly, while the other seemed less welcoming. They do offer value lunch combo Monday through Friday, but since we visited on a Sunday, the combo was around $30, which felt a bit pricey for what we received. Overall, I'd give it 3.5 stars. The food was good, but a few of the side dishes and the weekend pricing kept it from being a standout.
