Yuk Dae Jang is that dependable Korean spot you hit when you want comfort, heat, and a bowl that fixes your mood. The soups are rich and full‑bodied, the meat is tender, and the spice level is just right. It's the kind of bowl that makes you sit back and go, "Yep... this is exactly what I needed." Place is very casual and bright, clean, and simple. Not a "date night" spot, more of a "I'm hungry and I want something legit" vibe. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. They keep things moving, and even when it's busy, you never feel forgotten. Solid comfort food, solid service, solid spot. Miguel C.

I have tried them for their cold soup brisket buckwheat noodles during the summer and their hot YukGaeJang noodles that have spice heat as well. I love how careful this restaurant is with their deliveries - double checking that everything is included and extra taping the bag so nothing spills or falls out of the bag during transport. The ingredients are good quality and carefully separated out and it's fun to put it all together. The noodles are cooked part of the way so the texture is perfect once added to the hot soup. The rice helps soak up the broth or mute the fire a bit. I keep the banchan on the sides until I eat everything in my soup then I put the banchan and the rest of the rice in the broth for dinner or a late snack. I would recommend for the flavors and the simplicity because it takes a while to cook soups to get a rich broth like this. Until I learn how to make this myself, I will keep ordering from Yuk Dae Jang! #theresgreatfoodinGardena

We ordered: Yuk gae jang- this was good BO SSAM- there's a spice that they used that I wasn't a fan of. SQUID MANDU- This was just ok for me

My wife told me there was this really great Korean soup place months ago but she couldn't remember the name. Pulled up to this place and she said "This is that place I was telling you about" emphatically. The YukDaeJang (shredded beef soup w/ tomato base) is really good and worth the order. Wife also got the white broth soup and it is solid in flavor. 10/10 recommend!

So good I went twice! I love their cold noodles. Parking is easy. Even though the lot is small there's usually a spot available. Service is friendly and their food hits the spot when I feel like eating cold noodles on a hot day.

Soooooo yummy and comforting. I love coming here to get the Bossam! The Dumpling and Rice Cake in Ox Bone Broth is also very delicious. All of the sides are fresh and flavorful. Just the perfect meal. Service is always amazing and the restaurant is very clean and tidy. I love it here!

Located in an unassuming plaza in Gardena is Yuk Dae Jang. We love coming here! Service is fast and friendly and the food is good. An underrated item is the cold noodles here. We alwasy get the Bossam with the Cold Noodles. It's a good value and we always have leftovers. Last time we were there, they had a promotion for free steamed dumplings with 2 entree's. We always love coming here and we'll be back soon!

Parking is located in a small shopping center with other places to eat . Service: we were promptly greeted at the door by a young man who I must say was very polite I arrived around 8:30 because of traffic and I felt bad because I knew they closed at 9pm. I didn't want the young man to have to wait for me to eat. He immediately told us not to rush and take our time that he didn't mind as long as we enjoyed our food. He kept the refills coming of everything and anything we needed or were running low on. I will definitely be going back that is the kind of service I enjoy. Ambience: loved the music they were playing cute place to eat very very welcoming

Loved their pork belly! It comes on a steamer and it is so soft and well seasoned. We used to order their yukgaejang kalgooksoo and cold noodle but we decided to just stick to the pork belly from now on. I believe that's their best dish~ the restaurant is clean, servers are nice and they spoke English when we went. nice big parking lot so no worries there.

Food: this is one of my favorite Korean restaurant chains, the Gardena location is so close to where my family lives, and we come here fairly often. Everytime, the food is consistent and delicious, really hits the spot for Korean comfort food craving. My favorite is the yukgaejang kalgooksu, which is a great mixture of hot spicy soup and yummy chewy noodles. If I come with a group, then we also order bossam to share with others, the meat is always so juicy and tender. Price: the yukgaejang costs about $18-20, whereas bossam costs about $18-47 depending on the size of the plate. Sorta pricey, but their portions are huge, and I always take the rest for to go, it makes a very nice second meal Ambiance: located within a mostly Korean-centered outdoor shopping plaza, the restaurant itself is fairly small with only about 6 ish tables inside. But had no trouble getting seated, never had to wait too long. Family friendly environment with comfort foods, but not ideal for date nights. Service: great and very attentive, checking in on us to make sure we have everything we need. Parking, the shopping plaza has ample parking spaces in various corners, had no trouble finding a spot every time I came here

Korean penicillin. At least, that's what my Mark claims. He craved a spicy soup to try and battle a head cold that so far has eliminated a box of Kleenex and a good amount of Tylenol. His misery made it easy for me to make the trip to pick up a bowl of YukGaeJang original with Ramen, extra spicy, of course. I hoped the soup, both red hot and red in color, would rid the ill spirits out of his body...and it may have done that. Apart from the gosari being a bit tough to eat (it was fairly simple to pluck it out), he enjoyed the soup for 2 meals. I liked that I got a small break from cooking, but honestly, I missed the heavenly aromas from the kitchen when there's cooking going on. I ordered online and made the drive to Gardena to pick it up. Simple, no fuss, no nonsense either, I was in and out in 9 seconds. Plus, I was greeted with a smile, and the sweet lady behind the counter didn't bat an eye when I politely asked her to teach me the proper way to pronounce "yukgaejang". If another cold makes its appearance, he would likely visit again for another round of the original soup. I'm not a huge fan of $29 price tag (his order was just soup that comes with petite sides/banchan of kimchi and fish cake), but these days, prices are what they are. Could I teach myself to make this soup? Probably, but then I'd have to do the dishes. Go here for the convenience, but stay for the tasty original spicy YukGaeJang.

Was craving some Korean food and stopped by after flying into LAX. We ordered the Korean ox bone soup and a large order of pork belly. The restaurant only has about 6 tables but service was fast and it shares a large parking lot with some other restaurants. Food came with some side dishes that were all tasty and the portions were more than enough for 2 people. The bossam comes with a bunch of its own sides like cabbage, jalapeños, garlic, ssamjang, and salted shrimp, all to make the perfect wrap. A small or medium order would have been enough. The soup was also good and comforting.

Yak dae jang is located in a small mall and the restaurant itself is relatively small. We got sitted right away and loved how the service was on the faster side. We ordered the army stew pot and steamed dumplings. The foods were decent. Nothing really special about the foods but if you want your Korean fix, not a bad place to go

Sorry.. no more outdoor seating... We will update the listing shortly. Thanks!

As of July 30, 2021, do they still have outdoor dining and about how many tables do they have?

Yes we do. We have about 6 tables.

It looks like you guys have a different phone number on Google than on yelp? Or maybe yelp has 2 phone numbers. Just FYI, because one of them didn't work.

Dear Karen, Our phone number is (310) 400-7743. If the call went to answering machine, that means…

How do you guy's pack the soup, plastic containers?

We pack our soups in high quality microwavable plastic container.

Why do they not deliver anymore to Torrance thru Grubhub? I was ordering it for months and then the Delivery zone got changed all of a sudden!

We have no idea... We don't make that decision for them... You can try Postmate or Door Dash.

Are you guys reopen for sit down and eat?

Not yet. We will post on our FB & IG once we have an estimated reopening date. Until then, we still provide take out & delivery :)

Does your Sul Lang Tan soup have any garlic in it? (Food allergy)

We don't add garlic in our Sul Lung Tang.

No. Ask to take the egg out.

Yes we do upon popular demand :)

No peanut present in our kitchen :)

Yes, I, myself, ordered from the English menu.

Do they use MSG (monosodium glutamate) in their dishes?

    They do not.

Do you have a vegetarian or vegan option?

Our soup base is ox bone broth. If you are ok with it, we have dried pollock Sullungtang.

Can we purchase your fish cakes for to-go? If so, how much?

Thank you for loving our fish cakes? Funny enough, we get this question very often :) Unfortunately, it's only complimentary side dish at this moment. We'd love to have you back at our restaurant for our food more often!…

Do they charge for extra cabbage when you order bossam?

Good amount of cabbage comes with the order. Thank you for your interest in us :)

Do they charge for extra broth when low?

We offer free ox bone broth upon request, however, we do charge if you want the red broth at $3. It is so because our recipe is designed for each bowl and we do need to make a new broth from scratch for additional.…

It also seemed to include some new items, or at least ones that weren't printed out on the placemats. We've previously tried their cold noodles, galbi, hot stone bimbimbap, tofu soup and seafood pancake. All are pretty good but the cold noodle is our favorite. This time we ordered their fishcake kimbap and the cold noodle and galbi combo. I previously saw photos of their kimbap but didn't see it on their menu until now so I was excited to try it. It comes with 20-24 pieces and a side of soup, quite a lot actually for one person. The kimbap was as expected, it was flavorful, had a slight crunch (from the pickled radish) and didn't fall apart easily while eating. It comes with a dipping sauce but it wasn't particularly noteworthy and I didn't feel it is required to use. The cold noodles were a bit different this time but overall had the same flavor. It comes with half an egg, pickled vegetables, slices of cucumber, and slices of meat in an icy broth with buckwheat noodles. Be sure to add the mustard and vinegar for added flavor. The side of galbi was as expected, but doesn't arrive sizzling like at many other Korean restaurants. The flavor can vary, sometimes more flavorful than other times but overall it still pairs well with the cold noodle. Service can be a bit spotty, especially when they only have one server doing everything. It can be hard to flag someone down so be prepared to sit around for a while if they have less staff and many customers. Overall not a dealbreaker but just something to be aware of.

This place would probably be considered more affordable if you came with a bigger group to you can split multiple orders.
