Newer to the area and are still trying to find our favorite eateries. Several locals have recommended Donnie's and today we gave it a shot. In for a late lunch close to closing time. Staff was some of the best we have met so far but the bar is high as most everyone we have met around the area is unbelievable compared to the Left Coast of California! Asked our server for a lusuggestion. We followed her lead. My wife had their club and I had the Rueben. Both were better than good. Both came with a side of fries that were very tasty and cooked to perfection. No sticker shock on the bill. It was very reasonably priced for the service and good quality food. May have been a slight mix up in the kitchen as out order took a little longer than expected. I have eaten here 3 times in the 2 weeks since I moved here from abroad. The food is okay as they are always busy and obviously under staffed but today was the corker. I arrived at the entrance and waited for 5 minutes and finally an Asian gentleman told me to have a seat anywhere. I looked and saw that all of the tables were dirty as I sat at one knowing that the servers weree n the weeds. Finally a waitress came over to me and asked if I was a new customer and why did I sit at that table. I told here her the gentleman told me to sit anywhere. She questioned him on it and he said he did and then she told him he can't do that. She got real huffy and after myself being in the restaurant business for over 45 years I felt very uncomfortable so I decided to leave. I did tell the waitress that she was very rude and I will never eat in the establishment again as there are other places to dine without being insulted. read more

Waited forever for food that was just okay. Had to get our own menus, silverware and straws. The waiter who took our order, male with a hat and tattoos, was very nice, he's the reason for three stars instead of two. Had 3 different waiters while we were there which can make tipping difficult, as I cannot afford to tip 3 different people. No changing table, had to change my baby on a bookshelf in the bathroom, and my friend changed her baby in the downstairs bathroom on the sink because there was no changing table down there either. Branson West, hidden spot not known yet by tourists. Found a local to ask where a great place for breakfast was. He recommended Billy Gails and Donnie's Diner. He said Billy Gail would be packed by tourists and he was right. So we drove to Branson West and ate breakfast here. Pancake was bigger than the plate and the hashbrown mess was awesome. Ladies were very friendly and busy but we got a table right away. Prices veer not too high either. read more

Had breakfast there June 15 - the food was ok but waitress had a runny nose - running down to her chin - she was obliviously sick and should not have been working especially with the virus going around. I won't be going back for a while!! read more

Best breakfast spot in town! We visited from Dallas and the experience was awesome! We came in ten minutes before closing and they catered to our every need and desire. We cleaned out our plates. It was so good we are coming back ASAP! read more

The staff was very friendly and efficient. We did not have to wait long for our food. We ordered our eggs over easy and our bacon crispy- both came out perfect. The prices were great too. Two of my favorite things, delicious food that's cheap! We will go back here for sure read more

This is a dive, a basic diner with ugly decor and greasy food. If you can appreciate the charm of that in this new world of gourmet and foodies, then you'll enjoy Donnies! Breakfast is what they probably do best. The French toast and hash browns stood out to me. If you love some chicken fried steak, they have that, too. Cheap and generous portions. There is just something about greasy diner food. I visited Donnie's twice when I was on a recent vacation. First, the fact that I was the youngest customer in there by about 30 years made me think it was going to be good. Donnie's really did deliver on the breakfast food. Huge portions, excellent gravy (a diner must), and very cheap. This place is definitely more for locals than tourists, but that is probably just how they like it. read more

The food was good, between the 4 of us we had B&G, waffle, eggs, omelets. Our drinks stayed full & food was hot & fresh in spite of the long wait after ordering. Place was clean & all the servers were hustling to take care of their tables. A couple things struck us as opportunities for improvement: --put up a sign asking patrons to wait to be seated. With no sign people were trying to seat themselves, and wait staff were rushing to tell people to wait & then quickly bus tables. --unprofessional behavior by one of the staff members, a pregnant server was really running her mouth, yelling, barking orders, generally having tantrum after tantrum. At times it was difficult to carry a conversation at our table due to her yelling, and the lack of respect shown to her coworkers really was astonishing. We even discussed leaving and going somewhere else. This last thing was a pretty big deal, as we were stopping for brunch before heading home from vacation. Took forever to get waited on. Waitress was very rude, not only to us but other tables as well. We waited an hour four our food, it never came. I try to be patient and understanding as I have worked in this kind of business before. But this was all just too much. We walked out after an hour. read more

We have visited Donnie's Diner a few times now. The food was ok for a quick breakfast, but our most recent visit will definitely be our last. As we were eating, my wife saw a cockroach crawling on the wall right next to her. We were quite a distance from the kitchen, and if there are cockroaches that far from the prep area, I can only imagine how bad it must be by the food storage/prep area. This is the second restaurant in this area that we have visited that should not have passed a health inspection. (The other was Parmesan's Pizza) I have to assume that they don't do health inspections in this area. I am originally from the Chicago area, and if either of these restaurants were moved to that area, they would be shut down! read more
