Nice little gem we found while on vacation. Not many spots to choose from in the area so it was good to see they had a variety of different menu items. Our group was large and they accommodated us without hesitation. The staff was amazing, very polite and hospitable. As for the food, it was really good. We knew it would either be a hit or flop. Thankfully it was a hit. Kids had shakes, which were amazing. The onion rings were nice and crispy by and large. The crab Rangoons were a hit as well - seemed home made with right amount of consistency and good dipping sauce. The crispy chicken wrap was good - fried chicken pieces, cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and choice of condiments (Mayo, ranch, or honey mustard) on the side. Wrap would have been better if it had more chicken. It was loaded with other toppings though. The Smurd Burger was delicious - two smash Pattie's, cheese curds with lettuce, tomato, red onion. Patties were on the small side but it all came together quite nicely with the cheese curds adding a great garlicky element. He bun was nicely toasted and buttery. The regular cheeseburger was good and thick. Fries were seasoned well, hot and fresh and crispy. Egg roll was great! Pizza was hit with the kids. Would recommend. Wish we took pictures but we were so hungry we forgot. Side note: you go to counter, order food and they bring it out to you when ready. read more

4.5 stars! My husband and I are staying in an Airbnb not far from here for some rest and rejuvenation. We ventured out to find a place to eat, and we are so glad we stopped in! We were immediately greeted with a welcome. We had seen the interesting menu already, but were excited to see what we might order. The crab rangoons were so good, as were both our burgers and fries. It's definitely more of a home-cooked meal diner vibe, with friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere. We will be back. read more

The burger and sandwich menu were not what I wanted, but I was hungry and the special was a chicken fried chicken, so that's what i ordered. The entree was plenty to split and absolutely delicious. Only 2 employees (cook and cashier) were working, so it was good that I wasn't in a hurry. The sides were just OK but I would go back for the special I had. read more

We are staying nearby and were looking for a place to eat. We got a chuckle out of the variety of menu: Hamburgers/chinese/pizza. We ordered 4 different burgers, fries, onion rings and shakes. All of us were super happy with our orders. We also ordered crab ragoon. Not our favorite but if you like your filling on the sweet side, You might like them It was a great classic burger joint. Excellent hole-in-the-wall place! Try the garlic cheese curds, amazing. The white lightning hamburger has bacon and their signature bbq sauce, pretty good. The fried ravioli was good as well. Everyone enjoyed their meals in our group of 7. Service was very friendly. Has a 60's diner feel. read more

Classic diner vibes. Very laid back. Best burger we've had while in the Branson area. I had the "Patton melt" & my husband had the "White Lightning Burger" both DELICIOUS. Fries are good. Onion rings are okay. Service was good & they were super nice! They also have pizza & Chinese on the menu. If you go to dogwood canyon it's just a couple minutes from the entrance and definitely a better option than overpaying while at the park! We'll be back. read more

My buddy and I stopped by after a golf trip, looking for a good local spot and this place did not disappoint. We didn't know much about it going in, but they took great care of us from the moment we walked in the door, greeting us right away with warm hospitality. The menu had plenty of great options, and while we waited for our food, we got to meet the owner's mom. She was incredibly sweet and made us feel right at home she even brought us free cookies on the house to welcome us on our first visit. And let me tell you, the cookies were amazing. We ordered the Chinese food, and it was fantastic fresh, flavorful, and clearly homemade. Between the cozy vibe, the genuinely kind people, and the delicious food, this spot easily earned a 1000/5 from me. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

This is a great less expensive option to stop and eat on your way to/from Dogwood Canyon Nature Preserve. Good burgers and some of the best onion rings I've ever head. Very pleasant service. Your meal is going to cost you at least twice the price at the restaurant at Dogwood Canyon but you are paying for the spectacular view. I'd maybe have a drink at Dogwood to take in the view but save some money and fuel up for lunch or dinner at White Lightning. Eclectic menu with something for everyone. read more

We stopped in for breakfast on our way to Silver Dollar City. It was a great breakfast. The omelette was amazing. The eggs just were cooked to perfection. My husband loved the biscuits and gravy. The gravy is truly made from scratch. No box can or anything else and you can tell it's good Will certainly be worth another stop again. Stopped in for Fiesta Thursday. As always the staff was super friendly. The food came out quickly. Good sized portion, more then enough for one person. Filled with chicken, rice and beans. Fried crispy and covered in queso. Chips were fresh and the salsa was mild . It was a good meal. Definitely reasonably priced for the area. I didn't get dessert tonight but they always have a selection of homemade cakes and pies and other sweets. Definitely will be going back. read more

We were camping at Mill Creek and decided to try White Lightning for breakfast. The omletes were great, and the best pancakes ever! Loved it so much we went again on our last day camping. The staff is so nice and friendly. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again. read more

The Chinese food was very good. I got take out and was very disappointed in the potion size. More rice than meat. I have heard that the portions are great. We had such high hopes after reading reviews, and were completely let down! I'll start by saying, the tenderloin was pretty good, but came completely plain. No Mayo, no lettuce...nothing! Just meat and bread! The onion rings were ok. We also got Chicken fried rice and crab Rangoon. It was $8 for the rice and the serving was laughable! I could potentially overlook that if it was good....it was TERRIBLE! Not a veggie in site, and it tasted like they douse it in salt and sesame oil! The crab Rangoon tasted like cheesecake fried in a wonton wrap! We have a cabin just down the road and we're hopeful we'd have a good dining spot to regular while we're there. We'd probably go back and try the burgers, but not very high hopes that they'd be good after our experience! read more

I have eaten in here multiple times since moving to the Lampe area. This a place doing things right. From the perfectly toasted bun, on top of the beautiful pattie. The onion rings were amazing crispy and crunchy! I'm a chocolate cookie snob and this place has some of the very best. And at 2 $3 for the cookies I'm sure I'll be stopping by often to grab food! read more
