Wow this was my first eating here and it was 10/10. It is very busy and it probably has a lot to do with today being a holiday Juneteenth. So we got there at a great time before the line got really long. The servers are so nice and awesome. Chris was a nice person who Got our drinks and I didn't get the name of the actual person who was our server. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and the beautiful ambiance outside. The prices were steep for me but worth it.

Came here for breakfast with the fam and it did not disappoint. If you are a looking for a hearty and comforting breakfast this is the spot. The hash browns were AMAZING so crispy and good, probably the best I've had in a while. The biscuits and gravy were super good too :) I enjoyed them but my fiancée who loves salt said it could use a bit more. The stuffed hash-brown was great as well. The eggs were cooked great and the hollandaise sauce was tasty. Cinnamon roll was bomb!! Warm and ooey gooey just like a cinnamon roll should be. Service was great and the place was cute and cozy. We sat outside and it was perfect! Parking lot is small but a ton of neighborhood parking nearby

Finally got to try don's after living here for 25 years. And it was great! Solid quaint brunch place, with comfort done well. The parking situation is horrific, and the wait can be hefty, the price is also a bit jarring, but the experience was great!

We were referred to Don's Country Kitchen by a local, and it definitely lived up to the recommendation. From the moment we arrived, the staff gave off a warm, family vibe that made the experience feel welcoming. Cinnamon Roll ($6): Cinnamon roll served warm with a thick slab of butter and icing. Soft, fluffy, and really satisfying. Country Stuffed Hash Browns ($19.95): Crispy hash browns layered and stuffed with bacon, sausage, grilled onions, cheese, and country gravy topped with two over-easy eggs. Comes with toast or a biscuit. Very filling and flavorful. Meat Lovers Omelette ($19.95): A three-egg omelette packed with bacon, ham, sausage, and cheese, served with a side of home fries or hash browns and toast or a biscuit. I chose the home fries stir-fried with peppers and onions and upgraded to biscuits and gravy for $2.50. The omelette was solid overall, though the biscuit leaned a bit dry. Parking is limited to a small lot with about 8 spots but street parking is also available in the surrounding area.

Don's Country Kitchen is THAT spot. A small, hidden gem and a true locals-only favorite--and for very good reason. We've been here countless times and the food has never let us down. We've worked our way through almost the entire menu over multiple visits and can confidently say: there is no bad food here. My absolute favorite is Bea's Stuffed Hashbrown--a must-order every single time. On a recent visit, I tried the vanilla chai latte and accidentally received it hot instead of iced. Our waitress immediately fixed it, let us keep the hot one, and still brought out the iced version. Top-tier service like that deserves major praise. Every server here is amazing--friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. There's almost always a wait (yes, even on weekdays), which just proves how good this place is. The pancakes are MASSIVE and ridiculously delicious, and the chicken sandwich is one of our go-to lunch favorites. We absolutely love Don's and will keep coming back again and again. If you haven't been yet... you're missing out.

It's no secret I absolutely love Dons, and you should too. Every friend we have it town- Dons is a must visit. Four of us came on our latest visit, in the weekend downpour. They cleared a section under the tents for us and others to wait out the rain while our table was getting set up. The Cinnamon Roll was a table favorite and the stuffed hash browns were incredible. They do extra crispy bacon perfectly, the servers are super nice, and I'll just keep coming back!

Spent "Mother's Day" weekend visiting Oceanside with my wife, so we decided to try Don's Country Kitchen. The food was delicious, our service was excellent and the outdoor dining was great. If you're just visiting or reside locally, please consider Don's Country Kitchen...I promise you it won't disappoint. Note: The menu offers an array of delicious options to choose from.

Don's really knows what they're doing and the reviews don't exaggerate! Although parking is extremely tight - only a couple of spots or street parking, the food is worth it! The customer service is fast, workers are kind, very accommodating, and food comes out quickly! The portions are HUGE, the quality is AMAZING and for the price, it is such a steal! I enjoy coming here every time and the consistency is something I always look forward to. I highly recommend trying their biscuits (they make in house) and the Bea stuffed hashbrowns (what they're known for)!

Arrived on a Wednesday morning & maybe 10people, that's including the workers, but not long after, people started to come in. We are from outta town & just looked up on Yelp for a breakfast spot, found this gem with 2 others & we were definitely glad, we decided to go here, because not only the staff was super friendly, the food Did Not Disappoint We will for sure be back to this place, if we are ever in town, just to try more of the goodies on the menu. Parking doesn't seem like much, but there's places on the street or near by to park.

My first visit to this restaurant for brunch last weekend. We had a party of 6 so we had to wait 40 minutes to be seated on a Saturday morning for brunch. There is indoor and outdoor seating, we were seated inside. We had a great server (I didn't catch his name), but he was very attentive and professional. Inside was nice, nothing too special to me, just a standard restaurant. I don't like the small parking lot/limited parking situation. We had to park down the road and walk awhile to get to the restaurant, so heads up on the poor parking situation. The food was amazing! They have a huge menu with a lot of cool items, a hot White Russian?! I've never seen that before, it was so good though! I highly recommend it; if this is your thing. I really liked my son's big omelette, it had cheese, avocado and bacon and it was a huge portion. My hazelnut latte with oat milk was super good too. The portions here are consistent and very large, everyone I sat with had a huge plate of food and we all prefer different menu items. I highly recommend this place; if you haven't had the chance to visit yet, make the time it will be worth it.

If I lived closer to this spot I would be coming here all the time because their brunch is so good! I have not been here in a couple of years now but I will be back sooner for sure or have it be our treat of a brunch spot on the weekends or a day off. I am a hashbrown lover, I truly wish I could figure out how to make restaurant or diner quality hash browns at home and I have never been able to figure out how to make them as good. Anyways they have loaded hash browns here which are 2 big pieces of hashbrowns with ingredients in between, I did the Bea's stuffed hash browns this time which includes hollandaise on top of the eggs. Oh my gosh I was so full but I had to keep going because it was so good I did not want to stop eating it. My husband went for the ultimate tuna melt which was large and came with the perfect thin cut fries. The staff here are great and super attentive and we came towards the end of their day and got seated outside with our dog within 10 mins which was awesome. I absolutely love this spot and will be dreaming of those stuffed hashbrowns until I can order them again!

I always enjoy dining there with my family because they have good food that we can all enjoy together. Every year for my birthday I go to Gonzo! I simply love eating at Gonzo. First of all, I can't get over how scrumptious their food is, it is so tasty and packed with flavor. If you stand in line to order, as soon as you sit down you will have already been served. I don't know how Gonzo prepares their meals so fast, yet so delicious. Also the fact that they cook their food fresh daily is crazy to me. I've been to many ramen restaurants and no one compares to Gonzo's. My go to on the menu is the tonkotsu ramen with gyoza and chicken karaage. Gonzo also offers a very unique atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Japan. They have waving cats, a big banana neon light, posters and a floating ball on top of the water station. The ball is so cool but I am still puzzled on how it works. Their decor can not be matched. They also have a TV that is always playing Anime. You can also sit inside or outside so if you feel like sitting inside, sit inside but if you want to sit outside, sit outside. Gonzo also does not offer reservations so there is always a place to sit. If there is nowhere to sit just get It to go, truly there is no other ramen stop better than Gonzo. Lastly, the people there are super nice, and always check up on you, they are very polite, and they always say your welcome. While you wait, you can enjoy your appetizers until your main meal arrives. Also if you ask them for a free ticket to their store, they will give you one, each member of the family gets one. You can go next door and trade them in for tokens, these tokens can be used to play claw machines so you can win stuff. But what tops that off is that all of the employees are welcoming and happy. Gonzo Ramen is the best restaurant in the world. They offer good food, an amazing atmosphere and the people there are super nice not to mention the location is very conveniently located near my house. I seriously think about Gonzo all the time. Gonzo is that go to place for me and my family.

it's saturday night. we don't have a reservation. they tell us the wait is over an hour. what do we…read moredo? we wait. and thank jebus we did, because this ended up being one of the best meals i've had in a while. we started with the prawn. we each got one, and given that they're $10 a skewer, our bill started off STRONG. the prawns were perfectly roasted with hints of mezcal and prickly pear. the candied habanero or whatever garnish of death was on there totally kicked my ass in terms of spice. in true Asian fashion, we ripped the heads off and sucked all the goodness out of them too. no shame. you don't waste the good stuff. then the cornbread showed up. the group collectively agreed we'd pass on this one next time. for me, the goat cheese threw me off, but that's entirely on me because i hate goat cheese and still knowingly ordered something with goat cheese. i played myself. there was absolutely nothing wrong with the dish, but compared to everything else we ate, there wasn't anything particularly standout about it either. but then. the fucking broccoli showed up. it is literally charred broccoli with chermoula, lime, and peanut. that's it. BROCCOLI. and after taking one bite, i learned that broccoli could, in fact, be life changing. suddenly i was a new woman. a woman who wanted nothing more than to sit there and stuff her face with massive amounts of broccoli. unfortunately, i couldn't because we still had dishes to taste. and so i moved on to the pork belly. when people describe something as "melting in your mouth," they are specifically referring to Campfire's pork belly. because that's exactly what it did. just melted all up in my mouth and lit my taste buds on fire. normally, i find pork belly prepared this way a little heavy and can only stomach a few bites, but i could have eaten the entire dish. but of course i didn't, because i'm a lady. and the octopus was about to show up. and show up it DID. i don't like celery, and this dish had plenty of it, but because it was shaved super thin, it was actually super palatable. the octopus was incredibly tender, and there were little bits of chorizo throughout that gave it the perfect balance. also, love me a good chimichurri sauce. and finally, last but truly not least, the chicken. a whole ass half bird, charred to perfection with roasted red pepper, kumquat, and fennel. apparently i like fennel now??? i didn't even know i liked fennel like that, but here we are. if i hadn't already been stuffed to the absolute brim, i could have destroyed this entire dish. the chicken was juicy and tender, and paired with the fennel, you're almost like just having a healthy dish??? LOL. although we went in with every intention of ending the night with s'mores, our bodies simply said no. there was no more room at the inn. see what i did there :P so instead, we left and went on a very long walk to digest all the delicious goodness that was Campfire. i cannot wait to go back. mostly for the broccoli, which is a sentence i never thought i'd write in my life. and this time, i will absolutely be making a reservation.

I always order the same dishes: the porridge bread, roasted broccoli, and ribeye for two. Since nothing else on the menu particularly interests me, those dishes are generally good--but when I'm spending $250-$300 on dinner for two, I expect the food to be exceptional, and it just hasn't been. I also haven't found the cocktails especially impressive in recent years. Campfire helped bring craft cocktails to Carlsbad, and my husband and I still reminisce about drinks like the roasted beet and charred corn. Unfortunately, the current cocktail menu hasn't made the same impression. Campfire is worth trying if you've never been, but as a local, it's no longer a restaurant I look forward to visiting regularly. These days, I'd probably go about once a year.

We ordered their Mac and Cheese in a cast iron oval skillet, boy was that hot coming out of the kitchen! We also had the Wagyu meatloaf and the Mahi Mahi fish tacos. Everything we ordered was spot on delicious. Their wait staff was amazing and she was always available when we needed anything. I wholeheartedly recommend La Papagayo in Carlsbad for a wonderful dinner experience. It's hard to find a good restaurant today that has great food and great service. It's usually only one or the other. You rarely get both. Let me tell you Le Papagayo had both. It made a great night out with family an exceptional one. It was one of those nights out we won't soon forget. Their food, service and ambiance easily earns them 5 Stars from me. Give them a try, you won't regret it!
