I visited this restaurant with my granddaughter. What should have been a nice outing turned into a very uncomfortable experience. During our visit, the interaction felt dismissive and disrespectful, especially toward my granddaughter, who is transgender. When she asked for a straw it was basically just tossed on the table as the server walked by. As other customers were asked how their meal was, we were not. Even when our bill was brought to the table we weren't asked how everything was. Everyone deserves to be treated with basic kindness and respect when dining out. No one should feel singled out or unwelcome because of who they are. I'm sharing this in the hope that the restaurant takes this seriously and provides better training so future customers are treated with dignity. I gave it a 1, the food and prices were ok. The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 is the decor it's dated. Totally a dive diner, but that's ok the food was pretty good I didn't see any crusty bottles or anything like that. The people were very sweet! The other patrons were definitely characters to say the least. Now the food I was a bit skeptical about when we were looking at the menu but I was pleasantly surprised! My wife had breakfast eggs, hash browns, beacon and ham with a massive pancake, I had the cabbage patch soup which was delicious and hardy, and the pot roast dinner. the pot roast was tender and juicy and smothered in gravy. Are you looking for ambiance? Then this is NOT the place for you. What you WILL find, however, is friendly staff, generous portions, a hot cup of joe, and a clean establishment. Two stand-outs were the coconut shrimp and the ham on the breakfast menu. If you get the coconut shrimp, be sure to grab some packets of orange marmalade to spread on top. Lived in Marysville for 30 years and finally got a chance to dine in at Don's. Burgers were lukewarm, fries and onion rings cold. Waitress was busy eating her dinner and chatting with others, apparently forgot about our meal. We will never go back, surprised this place is still open. read more

We were invited here for breakfast nine years ago. Ever since then, Don's has been our go for breakfast lunch or dinner. There are times we can eat here 3-4 times in one week. The staff here are so friendly and make us feel at home. There are days it's so busy and you will still get that great service with a smile and a wave. Came here super early with a friend after she got off work. It was just us considering the time we went in. It is 24/7 so that's a plus. Better than going to Dennys. My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy and I ordered the livers and onions. Prices were a lot cheaper than most places and the portion size was huge. My liver came smothered in bacon and onions with a side salad, steamed veggies and a mountain high mashed potato and gravy. We had a nice waitress who did check on us and always refilled our coffee. The taste was okay. Very basic like a mom and pops restaurant. I would have to say the restaurant isn't as clean as I hoped it would be. It would be a 5 stars if it was. I do think they do need to do a little update here and there with the booths and stuff. It is very hard to sit comfortably when you have a piece of torn pleather up your a... Anyway, I recommend. I was driving home from Seattle early in the morning and discovered this diner looking for a 24h restaurant that wasn't McD's. I wanted to be cautious walking into a diner in a new town at 5 am, but the staff here was welcoming and I got a good vibe from the small handful of fellow early-morning patrons. They made some decaf coffee for me (free refills) and I ordered the French toast. Very eggy French toast but that's a good thing to me! Thick and fluffy slices of bread. It was plain and simple but exceeded expectations and hit the spot. Affordable prices as you'd hope for at a diner. Note that they have a check-in deal listed on Yelp but this seems to be outdated - I brought it up to my waitress and she said she'd only heard it mentioned once, years ago, and didn't know how to apply it even then. Diner dive. Clean and good ole fashion diner type food. Triglycerides threw the roof. I had a double wannie burger. Good perfectly I do wish maybe 3 or 4 slices of bacon. Also a nice added touch would be grilled onions and mushrooms! Waitress was a bit annoyed that asked about the Deep Fried Mushrooms. I've had them frozen and they can be a bit slimy and not good texture. The waitress said they are frozen and never heard of any place making them fresh. Ive been going here for years.... today marks the end of that support! Holy smoke... where to begin.... Waitstaff -- OUSTANDING and welcoming...Pleasant even. My girlfriend had the French toast which was yummy especially midnight. I got the fish platter which was OK. But the main point is our waiter was the son of the owner who's cash this out. The CFS was food service and not from even the medium priced selection. I am saying one step from shoe leather. The gravy was tasting a bit rancid. The hash browns were mush and the coffee tasted like battery acid. No amount of cream and sugar could cut the taste. The service was fantastic.
