It has been about a year since I have been here and i normally don't eat many donuts. When I do want to Satisfy a craving, then I will drive across town from Sparks to doughboys. Big mistake coming back here, because I don't remember it being like this. The butter milk donut was like a bland funnel cake that was incomplete, no frosting, no glaze nothing. It was an incomplete donut. The chocolate donut was so hard that I struggled to cut it in half with a butter knife. It was like eating French bread that has been left out for days uncovered that I nearly choked on! Flavorless, crumbly, dry, a strange texture that as if made by my 5 year old in an easy bake oven. I bet you can go to any convenience store and get a fresher hostess donut had been on the shelf a few weeks. I don't remember this place being like this, whether they are selling donuts from days ago, or have a different baker or recipe, perhaps they are stored incorrectly? Either way I would be embarrassed to call myself a donut shop and put this product out to sell! We were just passing through town and happens to see a donut shop on our way out in the morning... Definitely glad we took the time to stop! Seriously some of the best donuts I've ever had. My son and I come here every Friday morning for a donut. The donuts are fabulous. I even ordered some for his class for his birthday party this year and got him one of the big huge ones. The only complaint that I have is that the staff is not very friendly at all. They all look miserable, and aren't very friendly. Everytime I use my debit card to make a purchase there, it has the "tip" line on the bottom (what kind of tip are you suppose to leave for two $0.89 cent donuts anyway??). I honestly feel like everytime I don't leave a tip they get get an attitude. Could just be my imaginiation, but guess what? Provide good customer service and put a smile on your face and maybe next time I will leave you a tip! Last time I checked, tips are earned, not expected.Other than the poor customer service, I really do like this place. read more

Yummmy! We actually went in the evening for dessert and since moving to the area, these are the best donuts we have had in the Sparks area. We are sure they taste even better in the morning, but the evening was still lovely! The Apple Fritter- crunchy light and not too sweet, cake donuts and gigantic donut were the same! There is less selection of course at night, but it wasn't crowded, customer service was great, and great value. We will definitely be back for a delicious treat. read more

Donuts are light! Just enough sweetness and didn't leave an oily taste in your mouth. Especially the donut holes! Not overly impressed. The coffee was so cold I could leave my hand on the pot. Adding cream made it lukewarm like it had sat for maybe 30 minutes off the heat. I told the cashier but he just touched the pot and said nothing. One if our Bavarian cremes had no creme in it. They were nice enough to replace it so they don't get just 1 star. The selection was very small also. No chocolate cake, old fashioned, fruit flavored, or anything really interesting. The donuts we got were OK but nothing to wrote home about. Maybe I'm spoiled by the good donuts I had growing up back l east, but I just can't seem to find a great donut in Nevada. read more

Great donuts, normal price. Bacon covered maple are awesome. We went for first time on Valentines day morning placed was packed. They kept the line moving and didn't seem stressed or surprised, possibly always that busy. Only drawback is the parking lot has one entrance and if you miss it, it will take you a minute to get back to it, don't miss it. read more

I used to love their doughnut. I never liked any other doughnuts except from this place. This afternoon I bought 6 doughnuts came home and the very first one tried had a funky taste. My husband who is not so picky did not believe that their doughnut tasted bad so he tried and even threw it. It tasted like whatever grease they used had become rancid. Donuts don't get better. These donuts are the best I've ever tasted, and I've tasted a lot of donuts. They don't make you feel like garbage after you eat them. Very friendly staff. The only negative is the donut shop always seems to be a little hotter than it should be during the spring and summer months. It wouldn't hurt to crank up the AC once in a while. But that doesn't really matter much. The donuts are excellent and the place is clean, so it's good enough for me. I came here on a Friday morning, just before 7. I came for two specific (maple bar and Cinnamon roll) donuts and two individual milks, this doesn't seem like too much of a request. When I walked in there were three people in front of me, one person working the counter, and the person ordering was ordering about 2 dozen. I knew this wasn't going to end well. About 5 minutes into waiting, another person showed up to help work the counter and the line started to move. By the time I got to the front I realized they were out of maple bars, and had a very limited selection to substitute. I picked out my two donuts, got to pay and asked for two milks. Nope. no can do. Out of milk. I left the shop defeated and not optimistic about my donuts. In the end, they tasted alright, nothing special. For a place that does one thing - they didn't do it well. The donuts are good, if you can get your hands on any. I was there at 7:30 am on a weekday and they were nearly out of donuts. The reason for going to a donut shop is to have a large selection of donuts. There was no decaf coffee perked and I was asked if I would wait for them to make a pot. There is very minimal seating so I would have had to stand waiting for the coffee, right in the way of the customers coming through the door to find the few donuts that were left. Hmmm...donuts....coffee....don't they go together? Not even a 1/2 pot of regular coffee was available. I am thinking that maybe they need to prepare more donuts and coffee, and less of the meat sandwiches/ calzones...whatever they were; that were filling half of one of there cases. In fact, the name is "donut" bistro. I was very disappointed. The lady in front of me and two excited little boys looking for a donut with sprinkles, were also disappointed. Love love love this donut shop. Usually Donuts leave a greasy taste in your mouth but these don't. Everything is always so fresh and delicious and the customer service is great. We try to make it by for a treat every couple of weeks or so. Their coffee is great and they have my Fufu creamers that are a must-have.
