Finally tried this place and it did not disappoint. Our family loved them! The donuts were satisfyingly soft and it gave me that same feeling when I pop bubble wrap, only better. Sometimes you want chocolate with fun sprinkles, or a campfire toasted mallow with a hint of graham crackers, or sometimes you just can't take another disappointment and need a good ol' beautiful ring of glazy goodness to cheer you up. Got right to this location in less than 10 minutes drive. It was probably around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. Very helpful, friendly staff. This spot is open 7 days a week so it seems like fresh donuts keep rolling out. Lots of interesting choices. Can be a bit overwhelming. These donuts were so good, fresh, and just knocked me out! Since I don't practice Lent or watch what I eat, I ordered 2 boxes of different types and flavors and saved the rest for the weekend which I hope will stay fresh and tasty. For me the only thing amazing here was the over inflated prices. This place is fine but to pay $4.50 for one donut is a rip off. Service is fine, it looks like any other donut shop, nothing special. There are a few different flavors but as far as being number one, maybe they mean number one in overpaying. Duncan donuts is just as good and their black coffee is better. You either love donuts or you're some sort of crazy. Who doesn't love donuts? Well, I didn't care for donuts before due to the heavy density nature of it. Then...the French cruller donuts changed the game for me. The French Cruller donuts are light and airy with a sugary gaze on top. The Long John's have custard in them and are dusted with powder sugar. I don't care for long John donuts that are slathered in cream, so the way Long Johns are made here at Donut King is absolute perfection in my book.
