Best donuts in Chico! Only bummer is they only accept cash but it's worth it to get the best donuts!

I've been to donut shops around the world and nothing compares. This place is the gold standard. Biting into these donuts is like pushing a rope. It's the softest donut ever. I've actually had dreams of me eating donut nook donuts and woke up crying because it wasn't true. If you've got an ugly girlfriend go to donut nook. It'll make you feel better. If your ugly girlfriend just broke up with you go to donut nook. If your dog just died go to donut nook. If you're considering dessert go to donut nook. My only complaint is that they have funky hours. Sometimes they're closed in the evening and don't open until late. However, it's kind of cool at the same time because it's like finding a great band who only plays in a basement of a tavern in downtown of your least favorite city. I love this place. Get a chocolate bar or maple bar or both and just eat it. Don't use any words when describing how good it is. Just love it and shut it. read more

This is the best doughnut place in town... well, they used to be! I have gone in several times hoping and praying that they would wear a mask and follow the california state mandate for mask and gloves especially in a food establishment but unfortunately they don't! Donuts in the middle of the night? YES PLEASE! This place is great. The donuts are big and fresh, whenever you want them. They don't have a huge selection at 11pm, but they have the basics and that works for me. They also have a sign that says they will not serve you if you are on your cell phone. I've gone to this place for my donut needs of all sorts since my freshman year of college. It's a total hole in the wall. Amazing quality, just the perfect donut. My god. As a donut enthusiast, they have the perfect donut to icing ratio and it is just wonderful. Another thing, they have HOT donut holes at 10:30 every night, so if you're looking for a new addiction- look no further! Also, they do pre-orders too! Their employees are helpful and polite. Donut nook is the only place I'll get donuts in town. And I honestly don't really care for donuts much. Once or twice a year, and I'm good. They have a great selection and every flavor always has some fresh ones in the case, or on their way out. I love the cinnamon sugar twists and maple bars. Went on a jelly filled donut kick for a while (Very weird, I know) and theirs satisfy. Like the lemon or cherry filling. My favorite thing about Donut Nook is the blended drinks. They make a mocha blended drink using a mix my old hometown coffee shop used, and I loved it. Brought back memories for me, though they could tone it down on the ice and just add more milk. However, the flavor is robust and the drink still comes out creamy and refreshing (even with too much ice). Donuts aren't rocket science, so I expect them to prepare a palatable donut. Drinks are a bonus. Pricing is fair, and the more you buy the better the price. Good option for a quick breakfast when guests are in town, or on your way out of town on an early morning. read more

In all honesty the donuts here are pretty below average. Really nothing at all special about them. It's a pretty good place to go when you're craving something sweet at 2 am but then again so is Jack in the Box. I would have to agree with most of the reviews that state bad customer service. When ordering the rude women behind the counter gave us a very snippy remark when we forgot to specify what type of jelly donut we wanted. Very unprofessional but my friend and I remained polite even though she was acting rather trashy. Hopefully management has a talk with the staff in order to correct this but it seems like this is an on going issue here. read more

This place is dope. Delicious, inexpensive donuts. I like that they are open pretty much all the time, wish more places were like that. I recommend coming in around 2 or 3 am because they seem to be fully stocked with everything and its usually still hot. This place is very nostalgic for me; I used to come here as a kid, now I come here for my late night donut fix. After all these years it has stayed the same. They have a pac-man/galaga machine as well. Their signature donut is the chocolate square. Sometimes they even have the peanut butter chocolate square. I recommend those If you've never tried them, but everything here is really good. It is hard to go wrong with anything so give Donut Nook a shot. read more

Probably the best donuts in Northern Ca we bought a bunch of these for our wedding and on a separate occasion for my parents anniversary and everyone was raving about these. We had people from all over CA come an they said it was the best donuts they've had. read more

Updated review, original review below. So the donuts are still off the charts and customer service is improving! That was one of my biggest complaints in my original review. The last several times I've been in, there have been more smiles and pleasantness all around, yay for that. Thank you! Payment is still not customer-friendly. Perhaps in future. DONUTS: Amazing, 5-stars! My favorite place for donuts, hands-down. CUSTOMER SERVICE: 1 star. 2 of the 3 lady employees at the counter are rude as all get out, don't go unless you have thick skin and are prepared to take their disrespect. It's bad, they act like they hate their job and you and pretty much the whole world. The lady in the customer review photos is actually very nice, I just can't say the same for her coworkers. Why the owner employs the other two is beyond me. It totally puts a damper on the experience for my husband and I. The credit card thing is also a pain, they should reconsider this whole idea of $15 minimum credit card purchase. They are donuts. Nothing special and nothing I can't get at a multitude if other places around town. I went here to get donuts for my wife and brother in law and didn't have any cash on me. The amount of donuts I'd have to purchase to use a debit card is staggering. Perhaps It would be a useful limit if i was trying to kill a diabetic giant with kindness....and copious amounts of sugar. But when i'm just looking for some early morning junk food, I'm not making a trip to the bank to buy 3 dollars worth of donuts. Ditch the 10 dollar limit for debit use and I'd consider coming back, but you're not missing anything. read more

I've grown to like this place, a lot. Unfortunately it's very unhealthy food, but not bad for a once a month treat. Try the cinnamon twists, and the maple bars... excellent. Only knock is they don't ever have more than one or two PLAIN old fashioned, and when you ask for plain you get glazed, you have to specify you want no glaze (glazed is not plain). read more
