I came in this morning to get two dozen donuts for my kids class on his birthday. I couldn't believe when they checked me out it was only $48 for two dozen (WTF?). With this commie inflation caused by the over spending politicians who could care less if they spend your grandkids money, it's great to see a small business like this make it through these difficult times. What really got me is after I paid the owner wrapped up an apple fritter and put it on top of the box and said "this one's for the teacher." I thought that was so special. LOVE the chocolate bar donut, and my husband says the apple fritter is good. No complaints from the in-laws re: blueberry donuts. My big complaint today tho - I got a ham and cheese croissant and it tasted old. Like the smell of the store got soaked up into it *gag*. I was wondering why when I asked for a ham and cheese croissant, it was already in a bag in the case, ready to go. Probably got bagged at end of day yesterday and they were trying to get rid of it today before all of the other freshly made ones. If the owner see this, please don't serve old pastries. It doesn't taste good. Or at least label them as old and price at a lower price than the $6.00 that they are. On top of that, the dude behind the counter wasn't the friendliest with customer service. I don't know if he was trying to avoid using a box, but if I order a bunch of pastries, instead of bagging each and every one and handing them to me in a big pile, he could have just put them in a box. Which I ended up asking for, and he then did, begrudgingly. Based on my experience today, I would go for the donuts that are freshly made every morning, but I would be wary of getting any pastries that have already been placed in a bag in the case. read more

I always find a way to treat myself at the Donut Storr! I used to work at the Preschool across the street and taking a run over to grab a donut was how I discovered these fresh baked tender joys! I love that no matter what time I arrive there are still wonderful choices to make. One of our favorite donut shops in the area. Located at the corner of Los Alisos & Trabuco by the Taco Bell. This is a very small shopping center with a few parking spots to share among businesses. As always, early bird gets the worm. The earlier you come, the more choices. I appreciate that most of their donuts have the option for glazed or plain. My favorite blueberry donut comes in glazed or just plain. Both are just as delish. Love the old fashioned. Croissant varieties: plain, sweet fillings, jalapeño cream cheese, ham and cheese, and HOTDOG! Refrigerated drinks for your convenience. Hot coffee per usual. Disappointed After Three Visits - Not Worth the $24 We really wanted to like this place. The first time we came in, the owner was surprisingly cheery and decent with customer service. It gave us hope. On our second visit, it was the opposite. He seemed irritated and was downright rude and dismissive. Not exactly the vibe you want when grabbing donuts. The third time, we were helped by a woman who we think might be his daughter. She was actually pleasant and made the visit better--friendly, patient, and much more suited for front-of-house interaction. Unfortunately, the donuts were where the experience truly fell apart. We ordered a dozen, half of them double glazed and half with chocolate on top of the glaze. They looked fine but tasted... off. Stale, dry, and suspiciously like they were from the day before. It seemed like they had just been drowned in extra glaze or chocolate to cover up how old they were. Spending $24.00 for donuts that taste like leftovers is frustrating, to say the least. If you happen to get the extra glazed or chocolate-topped ones, compare them to a regular glazed--chances are you'll notice the difference. We certainly did. Three visits, three different vibes, and one too many stale donuts. We're done. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Best donuts around. The owners are so friendly and so generous. Twice I came in, once I bought a dozen for home and they threw in some donut holes, yay! A couple days ago I ordered 4 dozen donuts for my coworkers and they threw in a free coffee, a croissant, and an extra 6 or so donuts. Today I brought my kids in for donuts to celebrate the holiday spirits but once I saw what the guy behind the counter was wearing, I immediately was appalled. It was a cartoon of an almost naked girl. My kids were staring at it in a confused way which made me angry but I didn't want to make a scene in front of them. We still got our donuts which were pretty dry but the sight of what the guy was wearing made my experience worse. The donuts here are "gangster" quality good. These are the donuts I grew up with - high quality and made to perfection. Sadly the places that rhyme with "pumpkins" are now just a product of taking something that made them successful and chipping away 10% at a time until it's not recognizable. This place has some of the best donuts in south OC. I have several other places that are closer but this place is better so I go here. Went in to get 2 dozen donuts and 24 donut holes. Owner took all the food and put in the back after I asked for 2 boxes instead of 1 and a bag where the donuts would get squished beyond recognition. Most of the holes were broken when she grabbed them to put in the bag and several were the wrong holes, not the glazed. Owner was very angry and said to go somewhere else!! Wow, very rude.
