So sad today was their last day, the owners retired and I'm not sure if there will be new management or not, but ever since moving into a home nearby in 2023, my daughter and I have have become a big fan! So much promise when I walked by. Looked like everything you want in a donut shop. I got a maple and a glaze twist. Both my donuts had the same issue. Absolutely saturated in oil or grease. Stopped by for an after-school treat for the kids. Appreciate them being open in the afternoon! The shelves were a bit bare since we came so late -- I'm sure the kids from the high school across the street ransack this place pretty early. Nevertheless, there was still more than enough to choose from. The man working was so sweet and patient as my kids took forever to make their choices. We got a gigantic cinnamon roll (literally the size of someone's head) two chocolate tiger tails (also huge) and a couple old fashioned cake glazed. Everything was super fresh and soft; if they're like that at 3pm, I can't even imagine what they're like bright and early. For 5 giant donuts our total was about $11. A really good deal! It's the type of place you feel good spending money at because it's so homey. And those are more and more rare these days. read more

The Asian lady here is racist. So rude! My daughter and I were here to buy 1 small donut that I paid in cash for, and she did not like that. I thanked her and she walked away without saying anything, but made sure to give us dirty looks. There was no other customers, absolutely no rush, no phone calls. Nice little donut shop across the street from Trabuco Hills HS. Tucked in the corner by Panda Express. Decent selection of donuts in their pastry case, considering we came around 9AM on a Saturday. They have your typical everyday donuts. A few seasonal decorated donuts - Halloween themed. Hot beverages offerred. The croissants are okay, the ratio of ham and cheese to dough is pretty small. The muffins are also okay. Random selection of Mexican candies & other snacks on the counter as well. Very friendly staff. We visited this nice donut shop two days in a row this weekend based on a recommendation from a neighbor. Their raised donuts are very nice with a high rise and good flavor. I love this place! I have lived near by this amazing place for seven years and even though I am usually in this plaza once a week or more I never noticed this donut place until my husband and I drove past it one day and he looked over and saw the name and just said the name of it out loud. After that I wanted to try them and tried them a day or two later. I am so glad we did! We both got kind of a lot of donuts, and some of them I have never seen before. Came in and waited in a line of about 8 people as the owner left the store to do something. Drop off some doughnuts or something. I could hear someone else inside the kitchen as we all awkwardly stood there and fidgeted awaiting the return of the vanished owner. Doughnuts were fairly high priced. I think $1.00 each is too much for the OC. I've paid as high as $1.25 each, this place isn't too far off. I got half a dozen, no free doughnut holes neither, I know they're not obligated, but most places just toss a few in when you spend a bit of money. On to the selection, it was lacking. The place is small and there isn't room for much but I was still a bit disappointed. The most important factor, the quality of the doughnuts, were average at best. I've had the type which coats your upper mouth in butter, thankfully these didn't haven't that. They were heavy, dense, and the icing was too thick. Haphazardly applied, no neatness. The plain cake was super oily. The bag was oily from the doughnut. The crust was crispy, dense and thick. It was crunchy which was fun, however a plain cake is supposed to be light and soft. Not dark brown and oily. Although I appreciate that they're open while COVID is going on, I probably wouldn't return. read more

My wife came here, out of convenience, to get my daughter some bday donuts. She arrived at 5:48am waiting for Ralph's to open. My wife who is not a donut person, quickly ordered and was out. Once home let the kids dig in. Sadly my daughter said her chocolate twist was dry and hard. I called the lady to ask her and she said you can bring it back if you don't like. These were obviously day old donuts that had not sold. She claims they were made at 4 am. Anyone who's had fresh donuts knows that 1.5 hr later the donut should still practically be warm. I can't believe I haven't written a review about this wonderful spot after coming here for about two years. The donuts are great but the croissants are the stand out here! I recommend the ham and cheese croissant and ask them to add jalapeños and warm that bitch up! This item is not on the menu but is usually available in limited quantities in the AM. Also, the chocolate croissants are unbelievable! The best I've had outside of France. These should also be warmed up as well so that the chocolate in the center becomes gooey and delicious! Found this place decided to go New Year's morning driven past it a million times never knew it was even there it's hidden facing directly across the street from the high school went in it was a small place not really somewhere you would want to sit and eat at but although you can however the quality of the donuts were excellent made fresh hot off the pan ordered an Apple fritter and a chocolate cream donut for starters all the donuts were large and well made and tasted excellent not skimping on any of the ingredients the apple fritter had real apples in it I was highly impressed and had to make and post a review for this establishment. I have eatin' here a few times, the donuts are always pretty fresh tasting. the employees could use some customer service training, and the prices seem kind of high compared to a few other donut stores I have visited. The 3 donuts below were $3.19. A little more then other donut stores I have recently visited. Plus, they charged me 49 cents to use my ATM/Visa Card, without even telling me or having a sign that states there will be a surcharge for debit/credit purchases. The maple bar is probably one of the best I have had recently, the dough part is light, fresh, an nice and soft. The maple topping, is more like a maple cream, and not a thin layer of maple glaze. It is really good. You get that little hint of grease taste so you know you are eating bad. I am not a fan of donut stores were the cake part is not a little greasy. When I splurge on the calories and eat a donut, I want it to taste that way. The chocolate cake donut with peanuts on top, excellent. The cake part was really moist and cooked to perfection. This donut had more of a chocolate fudgy/creamy top, that was fresh and loaded with chopped peanuts. The rainbow sprinkle donut was pretty good. The cake part of the donut was fresh tasting. This is my favorite place to go get a donut! Whenever I try a donut from somewhere else it never compares to Donut World. Their donuts are always super fresh and I love that their donuts are super fluffy/airy. I prefer the classic glazed donut, it's my absolute favorite and Donut World really knows how to make the perfect glazed donut. My only negative is that they don't stick to their store hours. I've come by many times where they're supposed to be open but they've closed early. I'm assuming it's because they ran out of donuts or something, but it would be nice to know that you can rely on them to be open when you come by. read more
