I came to Donutsville expecting to be wowed by unique varieties of the AZ valley...unfortunately, even though I ate in-house right after opening (when most fresh), I found myself a bit underwhelmed by the taste of the doughnuts despite the glitz and glam of their presentation. I purchased a yeast fruity pebbles, maple cruller, strawberry sprinkles, chocolate cocoa crispies, traditional glazed cake, and a jalapeño cheddar kolache. -The fruity pebbles was great due to the texture and crunch of the fruity pebbles (they weren't soggy), this one I enjoyed and finished. -The maple cruller lacked a density to the donut that I would've liked, it was rubbery in texture as far as the dough goes and the maple was light in flavor. -The strawberry sprinkles folding have a strong strawberry flavoring that I would've enjoyed if it were more robust. It was simple, basic and not very special. -The chocolate cocoa crispies was mediocre too in that there wasn't a lot of chocolate flavoring...but the texture was decent from the crispies which were crisp. This could've used perhaps a dark chocolate or hazelnut icing rather than a lightly flavored generic chocolate to really make it noteworthy. -The traditional glazed cake doughnut was simple...not my favorite as the density of flavor was lacking, but it was ok. -The jalapeño cheddar kolache was actually the star of the show, it was delicious from the warmth and spice from the sausage. There were great flavors and this is something I'd definitely want to order again. In general will I go back? I have no plans to return to such experiences--though I wish I could report otherwise. read more

Easily some of the best donuts in the valley. The staff is great, and all of them are super patient as my 5yo picks out a donut he likes. Never had a donut I was disappointed with here. They are very light and fluffy, plus they have a lot of specialty donuts. I think you'll enjoy any donut you get here, but some faves include the Maple Bacon, Pumpkin Spice (when they have it), Apple Pie (yes, Apple Pie), and Old-Fashioned Blueberry. The Cronuts are also great, but I'm not enough of an early bird to regularly get there in time for there to be any left. They have Peanut-Butter and Jelly donuts at times as well, which are really good. My only regret is that I haven't seen any Cinnamon Twist Donuts here yet, which are my personal favorite donuts. We always try out a local donut shop on vacation. Donutsville didn't disappoint. They had a large selection of donuts and brewed coffees. We went with a dozen, non-filled donuts. We were thrilled at the $9.90 a dozen price. That was cheaper than I saw in a local gas station! We got a variety. Out favorites were the old-fashions. Great donuts. Terrible customer service. Went through the drive-through try to understand what donuts they had available the girl says you have to read the menu They're all there. I tell her there's only the specialty donuts listed on the menu I wanted to know what she had and cake donuts. She starts rambling off a list like 50,000 miles a minute didn't understand a word she said ask her to repeat it she repeats it with an attitude still didn't understand what she said. Then I get to the drive-through they ask if I want to leave a tip and I said absolutely not based on the service I just received. And the guy at the window said "that's your opinion". I said yes it is my opinion as your customer that she was terrible on the phone with me. He said I listen to the car I thought she's fine like I said it's just your opinion. A few months ago my husband and I went through the drive thru and ordered coffees and pastries. I had a bear claw and started to eat it when I got home. After a few bites I realized it wasn't a traditional bear claw because it's filling had peanuts. I'm allergic to peanuts. I went to the ER for treatment. Bear claws are always my go-to because I know that they are filled with an almond paste or an apple pie type filling. Donutsville's menu does not say that the bear claw has peanuts and they do not have an allergy warning on their drive thru menu. I spoke to the owner on the phone and asked her to file a claim with their insurance to help me pay for my hospital bill. She told me that she spoke to the insurance company and that I would hear from them soon. Never heard from them, months later. I'm very disappointed that they did not take responsibility for their lack of allergy warnings and then lied to me about calling insurance. I will never return. My $12 breakfast turned into an $800 hospital bill. read more

I was so impressed with how light and fluffy they are. We got an assortment of a few standard donuts to judge and I will be back to try their specialty donuts. Donutsville is probably one of the only places that makes kolaches in arizona, and they are sooo good! That said they only make a handful of them a day and every time i try and get one they are sold out even at 9 in the morning. I had high hopes. I mean the name Donutsville says alot. Hit this place three times in a week. Twice at 8:45AM and once at 7:45AM. Prime time for donuts and coffee you would think. The donuts are OK. Better than DD and a step below Bosas. My 2 issues are: The coffee is only lukewarm. What? Nice that they have so many choices but if the staff is not going to refresh them then what is the point? Staff- Not very energetic (see coffee comment above). Make me feel welcome please. Make suggestions, recomendations, etc. I just do not understand why some people open a business and then neglect to pay attention to the very basics that make a place a success. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of Donutsville. I stopped in at around 7AM (two hours after they opened). I was greeted by silence, and then an awkward comment that didn't make me feel welcome. I had never been there before, so I asked if there was a "favorite" or anything they recommend. The response I got was, "they're just donuts..." Then, after seeing that they have muffins on the menu, I asked for one. But alas... "We don't have muffins. What you see out is all we have. We're kind of like an old school bakery. Do you understand what an old school bakery is?" At that point, I just wanted to leave, but I decided to at least give the donuts a chance. They were definitely fresh, which is why I added a star. They only seemed a little better than a fresh box of donuts you could get from a grocery store. Cronuts have made their way out of the heart of the eastern states, into the stomachs of Americans on the west coasts. They landed at Donutsville where variety is the key to life and happiness. Hubs loved French cruellers and they have at least 4 different varieties here. I'm more of a speciality kinda gal and red velvet or the Oreo fits the cake..or rather donut. My favorite here though are the buttermilk. Another donut with a few varieties but what's great about these is that when purchased, they miraculously last (if not consumed) for about 4-5 days on the counter. They don't taste stale at all. Nice tip for anyone looking to purchase a dozen donuts but not sure which will last for the week. Owners here are really nice. They really try to keep the variety (again, they key to foodie life) rotating and with what their customers are into. They are personable with their customers and the rest of the staff are sweet too. read more
