Doro Marketplace is a cafe bakery that opened in April 2026 at this location. They also have multiple locations. They offer coffee, pastries, croissants, sandwiches, bowls, and more. The interior is spacious and there was ample parking. This is the first time I've been to a Doro. I've been a few times now and have enjoyed their offerings. I love their tiramisu latte and pistachio croissant. My husband enjoyed their sandwich and cakes. The service was good too, we usually pre-order online. I've visited Doro Marketplace in Avon multiple times and have always had a positive experience. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. First time being at a Doro Marketplace introduced by my friend! Indeed, a very pleasant place! There are plenty of tables inside and outside. It is about a medium sized establishment. Clean and nicely decorated. There is "to mati" on the shelf for protection, pretty common within their culture. There is a good amount of beautiful selections of pastries and croissants. Their service was quick and friendly; if you dine in, they will bring out the food to you. I had the Doro Bowl and pistachio croissant: Both were delicious! Total chaos. Food and the pastries are excellent, but this is a failed ordering system that has been prevalent throughout my patronage at the West Hartford location, and basically, they rubber stamped a failed model for their new location in Avon. My pizza came out cold. Even when you asked them to double warm it they put it in the oven for about a minute and by the time it makes its way to you. It's already lukewarm. It came out separate from my other half of the order then I watched it sit on the counter and go around the restaurant on somebody's tray end up back at the busing station, getting colder and colder. I know it's my slice. I'm watching it then it goes back to be put on a larger plate and finally got it. The saving grace here is that the food is delicious. The sandwiches are amazing, and the pastries are excellent as well. Especially the pistachio mousse cake and the cookies. I'm hoping that they will carefully consider a more organized busing system. As an added note, I witnessed someone else having to get up out of their chair because they saw their drink at the busing station and overheard people confused about where it was supposed to go and then it prompted her to just go get it herself. Another area of opportunity here is to understand the importance of a shared experience. If your partner orders a sandwich and you order a salad and would like to have a lunch together, that's likely not going to happen here. Because there's no system for someone to hold part of the order until the other one is finished. I'm hoping this comment actually gets heard and discussed among the management. read more

The store is pretty much identical to the ones we're most accustomed to in West Hartford and Wethersfield -plenty of seating, big grab and go shelves, a coffee station, and a gorgeous cafeteria style counter where you can ogle their prepared foods and breads. They serve breakfast from 7-11 before turning the menu over to toasts, sandwiches, salads, bowls, soups, roasted chickens, and pizzas. We picked up a slice of White Pizza, a slice of pepperoni pizza, and a gorgeous Parma sandwich on a croissant with aged prosciutto di parma, swiss cheese, and arugula. We were there pretty close to their 8:00 closing and were surprised to see just how crowded they were still are. I suspect they will be a popular and very busy place for a long time to come. read more

The latest location of Doro has just opened in Avon. While in Avon, one will find an abundance of places for lunch or coffee. If you're looking for a bit of an elevated spot for a coffee, salad or a dessert, where you could dine solo or with a group, Doro is the place. Doro's signature exposed brick, makes the exterior stand out from the rest of the businesses in the area. The inside had fresh flowers at every turn. They have comfortable seating inside and outside. There's a large assortment of desserts, sandwiches, pizzas and more. On this occasion my guest got their Pastrami sandwich. This sandwich typically comes on rye bread, we requested it be made on a baguette instead. I got their Baklava Cold Brew. We were given an order number so that the waitstaff could find us. We sat outside since it was so nice out. The pastrami sandwich isn't something I'd typically get. They kindly made it on a toasted baguette as requested. I had a half. It was generously packed with pastrami, a bit of Swiss cheese and mustard. It wasn't bad, just not my preference. The Baklava Cold Brew had a whole lot of flavor profiles going on. You can't do wrong with any coffee from Doro. This Doro with so many options to cater to any preference and stellar service is sure to thrive. read more

Wonderful place! Convenient location close to Avon shops. Pastries are excellent. Cronut is my kids favorite. Salad and bowls are also wonderful. Feels so fresh and healthy. We went here twice. Just not impressed. Not many gluten or dairy free options. The ordering system is awful. Not sure if there's a line it's weird. Picking up your food is odd. Sometimes it comes to you sometimes it sits. The chicken sandwich I brought home and I never ate it, it wasn't good. Breakfast bowl and French toast was good. There are so many of these places in the area now that there are just better options for the money. read more

I love the food at Doro Marketplace in Avon, but had a few bad experiences where they left out a portion of the order - which was discovered when I arrived home. The last time this happened we made the 40-minute round trip to correct the error expressing our disappointment with their service. The last time we visited the Avon Marketplace, the manager (Francesca Dimaio) greeted us providing a passionate apology - with her commitment to focus her staff on the importance of accurately fulfilling orders. It was evident to us that she was genuinely concerned since she recalled the details of this incident - leaving us with the feeling that she really cared and would focus on this element of their operation. Im a fan of Doro Marketplace I frequently hang out and would take friends, at first mostly, in their WeHa location until they open their outlet in Avon. Today is no difference. I was looking forward to having lunch with my cappuccino and ordered the quarter 'freebird' lunch. I asked for legs with sweet potatoes. when the food arrived, instead of leg, they'd given the breast meat. So I took it back and requested the leg as per order. The manager looked at my receipt and said it was ordered wrongly, I said I purposely requested the leg and not the breast meat. She replaced it for me and I had to wait again. (Not happy). Then when the busser brought the food to me I was shocked to see the leg was ridiculously small and said the same to the busser. He smiled and said maybe because the chicken was a small one. I am a cook and I know no chicken is that small, the leg that came with some 20+ cubes of baked sweet potatoes look about the same size as my palm and I am small. I was upset at the portion and thought maybe they 'tried to get back at me for complaining earlier on'. I didn't bother bringing it back as I was hungry but did complain to the 'manager' a young Hispanic woman who was chit chatting with the kitchen staff by the coffee machines. She apologized and said she didn't see what was served and offered to refund the meal to which I declined. Doro Avon needs to do better. The last few times I was there I didn't have good experiences, the staff taking the orders were very unfriendly, like as if they were doing us a favour instead. I give 2+ stars! read more

Not impressed with their food menu. I was excited to see a Doro opening up near where I work at. Unfortunately their menu is subpar. The tomato soup is good, their sandwiches are not great, the avocado inside the chicken sandwich should have been smashed like guacamole, instead I had pieces of avocado that fell from the bun. The chicken was fried it had a weird taste like it was fried in old oil; I hate to say it but McDonald's has better tasting chicken sandwich. The last time I ordered from Doro it was their quarter chicken I picked the dark meat with mac and cheese on the side. For what I paid I was expecting an enjoyable good size meal, instead I had mac and cheese that lacked flavor and a piece of chicken that I think it was Cornish hen because of their small size. All my orders were made online so they were ready on time when I picked up. Parking lot always packed, had to wait for a parking space to become available. One I was able to get inside, inside of Doro was packed, people waiting while others were seated. Thankfully I was there to pick up and not be subjected to the noise and long line. read more

Tried out the new Doro Marketplace in Avon. Gotta say that the place rocks! I tried the tricolor pizza and it was warmed up for me. It was delicious with fresh garlic, tomato sauce and cheese. Everything tasted very fresh, and not processed. Got their Doro Peach tea too. Total cost was about $10 plus tip on April 20, 2026. They have a lot of workers too, and it's quite busy. They had a good steady number of customers, but everyone was being taken care of well. Big parking lot including more parking in the back of the building, with all the parking spots taken up. Looks like picking up to-go is the best if you're on a time crunch. Will be a great addition to the Avon neighborhood! read more

the foods pretty good. service was great, got my food right away and servers were friendly and kind. i came to write a review though because i witnessed a manager (im guessing) yelling at one of the young employees and it really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm really hoping the managers treat their employees with respect. A safe workplace is really important and I felt uncomfortable watching an employee get yelled at. Young employees are still learning and deserve respect. I hope the workplace culture improves because I was really disappointed to witness that. I personally would never want to send my daughter or son to work there and makes me question whether I want to give them my business. As someone whos been in the food industry for years (and at the higher level) I would NEVER want my employees to question their worth. there's a difference between holding an employee accountable and making them feel small. especially considering most employees are young and likely doing this to make some money for school read more
