Wow! What a surprising find near Beverly Hills/West Hollywood area. From the front it doesn't seem much but on the inside it's transforms into a welcoming Italian style place. There's also great lighting for a nice and intimate meal for a small group or a date. We found this place through Dine LA and really enjoyed our experience. The service was attentive without being too overbearing and the food was excellent! We had an octopus that was thinly sliced and burrata that just melted in our mouth. For our main entree we got the gnocchi that was pillowy with pieces of lobster. There's a heartiness and authenticity that gives the food a special feel that isn't too overproduced. Really a gem of a place a look forward to coming back again!

Easily 1/2 of my favorite Italian restaurants throughout the city. Locanda is very small but the intimacy is what makes it more special. Marco was always wonderful and remembers frequent customers. Absolute favorite is the Cappellaci al Manzo Stufato! Second favorite raviolo d'aragosta, and third is the linguini al frutti di mare. The minestrone is tasty and wine list consists of some fine local wines. What makes this place an easy favorite is how quiet/lowkey/intimate but spectacular the food and service is.

We drive all the way from San Diego County just to eat here - and every single time, it's worth it. Locanda Veneta isn't just an Italian restaurant; it's an experience. The food is beyond anything I've ever tasted. Every dish feels crafted by someone who understands flavor, texture, and balance on a whole different level. The chef is a true artist - his skill and experience stand far above most in the industry, and it shows in everything from the perfectly silky sauces to the flawless tenderness of the pasta. From the moment you arrive, everything just flows. Valet parking right out front means you can relax and step straight into this warm, inviting space tucked near Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills. Inside, it's the perfect blend of romantic, cozy, and family-friendly. Whether it's date night or dinner with loved ones, it just feels right. The Maître D' is phenomenal - genuinely welcoming, attentive, and professional - the kind of person who makes you feel like an old friend from the moment you walk in. The servers are top-shelf, with a rhythm and grace that make the evening seamless. Every detail feels intentional, from the pacing of the meal to how they anticipate what you need before you even ask. And then there's the wine list - it truly hits differently. The selection is thoughtful, diverse, and designed to enhance every flavor coming out of that kitchen. Their team helps you find the perfect pairing with confidence and ease - never pushy, just deeply knowledgeable. Locals rave about how well they handle large parties and private events, and I believe it. The staff works together like a family - making guests feel valued, seen, and completely cared for, all while keeping things beautifully professional. Locanda Veneta is one of those rare places that stays with you long after the meal ends. Elegant, authentic, and unforgettable, it's Italian dining the way it's meant to be - done with passion, precision, and heart!!! Five stars, always. .... An additional plus- seed oil free!

My husband had a doctor's appointment directly across from this restaurant. Decided to have lunch. We got lucky and have a great parking spot right in front. My husband had the Branzino - their special for the day and I had Linguini Pescatora. They started us with their delicious bread. We finished with a couple of Cappuccinos and a Panna Cotta. Everything was delicious and our server was delightful. It's not a huge restaurant but they do have outdoor seating. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Locanda Veneta (Italian for Venetian Inn) is an intimate, quaint, charming, romantic Italian restaurant that has been around since 1988 and for good reason. It's just such a treat to eat here. Prior to this visit, I had been here for dinner a few times over the years. The food has always been consistently good and I've even spotted some celebrities. This time around, I came to Locanda Veneta to try the DineLA lunch menu. It was a wonderful deal for a three course gourmet meal. Another thing I really liked about the menu is that the vegetarian options were clearly marked. A vegetarian can order from every course of the Dinela menu. The meal came with complimentary bread served warm and a side of pesto. A definite must-try. It's so, so good!! For my appetizer I chose FAGOTTINI MELANZANE which had eggplant rolls stuffed with mozzarella and basil and baked in a delicious tomato sauce. The presentation of this appetizer was stunning. It came baked in an individual cast iron baking dish and there was a fresh piece of basil over the top. The serving size was very generous as well. As an appetizer, you may want to consider taking some home as this definitely could be a meal in itself. The soup of the day was also vegetarian (red pepper soup that had a vegetable broth base). So there is was another lighter vegetarian option to choose from on the menu. However, I went with the eggplant as I thought it was more unique. For the main course I choose PESCE BLANCO AL CARTOCCIO which was white fish wrapped in parchment paper with julienne vegetables, capers and spices. It did take some time for this dish to come as they make it from scratch but it was 100% worth the wait. The fish tasted so fresh and melted in my mouth as I ate it. The julienne vegetables were also cooked just right. I would come here again just to eat this fish. It was so, so good and a pretty healthy option as well. For dessert there was a choice between the BISCOTTI and SORBET. One of us ordered the sorbet and the other biscotti so that we could share them both. I'm not usually a fan of biscotti but this biscotti was so special. The chocolate chips melted in my mouth and the texture was just right and not too hard. I see why they are called "famous" biscotti on the menu. This is a winning cookie! The sorbet came with 2 scoops of your choice: mango, lemon, and raspberry. We chose lemon and raspberry and it was a delightful end to the meal. Locanda Veneta has seating outside as well on the sidewalk but I prefer the inside of this establishment because it is just so cute and part of the fun of dining out for me is the atmosphere. There was a large party of 8 sitting across from me in the middle booth. This is a lovely place to have a small party. I also spotted some solo diners as well as parties of two. It did start clearing out around two o'clock and I believe they close at two instead of two thirty (as listed on Yelp) so I suggest going early for lunch. Since it is a small place, our waiter was also the host, so it was a little bit of a wait to get our seats but once seated the whole experience was wonderful and first class. We felt very special and also loved where we were seated by the window in a comfy booth. Parking can be a bit tough to find. There's metered parking on the street but it does fill up fast. We parked a few blocks away and walked. They do have a valet as well ($15). Other cool facts: The head chef and owner of the restaurant was honored as one of the culinary talents in Best Chefs America. Won Opentable Diners Choice Award 15 years in a row.

I met a friend here for lunch who works at Cedars Sinai. It's location right across from the West tower makes it convenient for people working at Cedars to get to. And for people like me that are driving up being across from the West Tower parking structure makes an easy place to park although it expensive place. I was there for just under 2 hours and it cost me $18 to park! There is street parking if you can find it but of course that's easier said than done. The service is welcoming with friendly and attentive servers. They had a lunch time special for $20.95 you get to pick an appetizer/soup and an entree. I got the minestrone soup which was full of vegetables and a delicious broth that wasn't too acidic, not spicy at all, not too salty either. It was perfect for this chilly winter day. And for my entree I opted for the Rigatoni Bolognese because it was described as a lean meaty sauce. It was hearty and delicious and topped with Parmesan cheese, was amazing!

Perfecto! Italian food at it's finest. Maximo was our server, and he was fantastic His jokes were hysterical, and he's quite the charmer. My friend enjoyed the artichoke soup and I enjoyed the ahi tuna salad. The salad dressing complimented the tuna so well, and it was incredibly fresh. We ended our lovely evening with dessert with a panna cotta I cannot wait to come back for and our server Ciao!

I was craving authentic Italian and saw some promising words and pictures on here so I ventured out to try this place. I ordered: 1. grilled calamari (for one person) 2. squid ink lobster ravioli 3. panna cotta with fresh berries Bread was complimentary and came with a yummy pesto sauce. Grilled calamari was juicy, grilled to perfection and tasted so fresh with lemon, and the squid ink lobster ravioli was the start of the show - the magic yellow sauce on top of the black ravioli filled with fresh lobster was delectable, each magic puff filled with a the perfect blend of umami. Panna cotta with fresh berries was the best I have ever had - the panna cotta had specks of vanilla bean, not too sweet - it was light, refreshing and perfect tart/sweetness ratio in the housemade fruit compote that the panna cotta was basking in. Service was delightful, friendly and very attentive. This special restaurant knows authentic Italian cuisine without being pretentious. I can't wait to go back during my next trip to LA.

I'm disappointed. I wanted to like this place a LOT MORE than I did. However, I can give it a solid three stars. While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't great, either. Perhaps, my husband and I just ordered the wrong dishes, but it shouldn't matter what we ordered. Everything should have been sublime, and it just wasn't. The restaurant was really tiny, which shouldn't have bothered me, but it was more that the tables were crammed together. Thank goodness it wasn't crowded, or I would've been upset to almost be eating on top of other people/tables. Which then begs the next question... why was this place with so many empty tables on a Saturday night? At its most crowded, there were only three other tables utilized besides ours. Again, I liked that, given how crowded the tables were jammed in there, but it didn't speak well of this restaurant's ability to attract diners. Perhaps that is also why Locanda Veneta runs a Travelzoo special offering $100 worth of food for only $55. That is what brought us to the restaurant. They are not bashful to charge steep amounts for their dishes, so even while I secured that offer, a food bill for three of us easily went well over $200, and that was without any alcohol. One glaring strike against this restaurant is that in our online reservation, we stated that we were celebrating someone's birthday. The restaurant had the information in print, but they failed to say or do anything about it while dining. Our friend knew that the dinner was in his honor anyway, but it would have been nice for the restaurant to say or do something on their own... but they didn't. And I didn't remind them. I shouldn't have to. Most restaurants are good about it when we have provided the information in our reservation. A 5-star worthy restaurant certainly would've been on top of that. Now for the food. I will say that our friend, the birthday boy, was very pleased with his food. There's always a chance he was just being polite and appreciative and didn't want to hurt our feelings because we were treating him.... BUT.... he said he loved his dishes, so I'll take him at face value. I didn't try his food, so I don't really know. He ordered the soup of the day, which was minestrone soup, Venetian style, made with chicken and corn in a tomato broth. For his entree, he had pappardelle pasta with beef tenderloin, wild mushroom in a barolo sauce. He finished his food, so I guess that's telling. As for my husband and I, that's another story. My husband ordered a Caesar salad, which he said was really good. However, the chicken parm was not. The chicken was pounded really thin, and they overcooked it, so it was really tough and even dried out, which made it difficult to not only cut, but also, to chew. He didn't finish it. He said there was enough sauce and cheese to help it along, but it didn't fix the underlying problem. I ordered the most expensive entree on the menu, which I only mention because the waiter said it was also their "signature" dish of the restaurant. It was "fresh Chilean sea bass." For $56 and it being their "signature" dish, I expected to love it. Also, because it was a favorite fish of mine. The fish wasn't noticeably seasoned and was in a very sweet balsamic glaze. It said balsamic sauce on the menu, but I didn't know how sweet it would be. Not all balsamic products are served outright sweet; every restaurant does it differently. Theirs was very sweet and not to my liking. Plus, this fish was strange to me and didn't taste or have the texture anything like Chilean Sea bass. I honestly don't know what I was given. As for the lentils, I loved them, BUT they were swimming in the runoff balsamic glaze/sauce, and I didn't want ANY sweet or balsamic flavor competing with the wonderful flavor of the lentils. I was able to eat about half of the lentils, and the rest was inedible to me. As for the accompanying arugula salad, I unfortunately saw a tiny bug fly out of the salad, and that ended my interest in eating it. I squashed the little bug on the tablecloth, so it was not my imagination. I did save the best for last, though. We ordered an apple tart, which was very cutely made in the shape of an apple, dusted in powdered sugar, served with caramel sauce and amaretto gelato. The gelato was outstanding; we all loved that, and we thoroughly enjoyed the apple tart. I probably would've rated the tart as outstanding were the apples not as tart as they were... would've preferred them to be sweeter, but we still really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, this is not a place I will be returning to. I don't mind being charged a lot of money, but the food should be commensurate in quality with what I am being charged. This clearly was not.

Our waitress made some good recommendations so we decided to try a few items (family style). We ordered duck confit, spicy pomodoro, sweet corn agnolotti, branzino (highly recommended), charred octopus, steak tartare, cavatelli finocchio, hamachi crudo, date cake and banana pudding tiramisu. Everything was absolutely delicious! You really can't go wrong with any choices on the menu. Everything we cooked to perfection with a lot of flavor. Also, if you sit at the hightop bar, the kitchen is an open concept so you can watch the chefs cook and plate the food. As far as the drinks, I am not sure if they have a full bar but they do have a few selection of wine along with a small cocktail menu. I stuck with the cucumber basil (with tequila). Flavorful and refreshing. Street parking may be hard to find but they do have valet parking for $12. Overall, it's worth a visit. I look forward to dining here again.

Sitting at the bar was definitely a plus because we got to watch the chefs cook throughout the night. We ordered the spicy pomodoro, squid ink mafaldine, and steak tartare, along with a sauvignon blanc and merlot to pair with the pasta. The steak tartare was good, but it was lacking a bit of flavor. The bread that came with it was perfectly toasted and honestly my favorite part of the dish. The spicy pomodoro was perfectly al dente and flavorful but it didn't really live up to the hype for me. I couldn't taste any truffle and it wasn't spicy at all. It was still a good pasta, just not life changing. The squid ink mafaldine was unfortunately pretty lackluster. The pasta tasted like al dente salt water, the prawns were overcooked, and it felt like they just threw a handful of raw basil on top and called it a day. The wines were good and paired well with the food but there wasn't anything particularly memorable about them. Service was great. Our server was super attentive and helpful. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was great, service was on point, and even though some dishes fell short, I'd definitely come back to try their other dishes!

Still stands-up to the hype after all these years…read more If "Trendy" was a restaurant, Bestia would easily be in top contention, even after being around for more than a decade. That says a lot. Once upon a time (a few years ago), my CFP + banking institution wanted to thank me for being one of their top private clients. They expressed their gratitude with a very generous, all expense paid full-course meal at Bestia. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. Fast forward to now, I knew that coming back here would be a good idea. Make no mistake, even if you try to book a reservation several weeks in-advance, don't be surprised if the only available seats are at the counter. Granted, I was in a spacey table during my past visit, the counter can be an enjoyable & unintentionally entertaining space. It's great for a more casual vibe, as you get to see some of the kitchen workers put together some of their signature dishes. In many ways, Bestia seems like a microcosm of the city that it rather humbly resides within. What always catches me off-guard, is that the surrounding simple area really doesn't reflect the happening, vibrant, night-life that resides within the building's walls. You feel like you're taken so a different, very social, very bustling world. WINE: Podere 72, Poderi San Lazzaro (Marche region, central Italy) - 8.7 / 10 A very robust blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese grapes that results in a balanced, medium bodied red wine that stands-up to heartiness of a beef ribeye steak. FOOD: Roasted Bone Marrow - 9.4/ 10 I have several friends that go here just for this particular dish. Funny enough, one can almost always tell that one is at Bestia because of the rather peculiar manner in which this dish is served. Hot, melted bone marrow is appropriately scooped out of the bone & poured onto spinach gnocchetti. It's like eating beef flavored mouth pillows of potato + spinach. It's definitely a dish that will impress whoever you are with. I can never resist ordering this whenever I am here. Oxtail alla Vaccinara - 8.9 / 10 The deep, rich maroon color of the rigatoni (thanks to beets) is a sight to behold. The pasta is firm but not too hard. It's a humble yet complex pasta dish that complements any main course. 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye - 9.4 / 10 Anybody who knows me knows that I love my ribeye. Any decent fancy restaurant does a ribeye. But no one does a ribeye quite like Bestia. The fermented mushroom cream delivers a punch of pungence not unlike a delectable dijon mustard, but to the highest of levels. This dish also makes me a believer in well-cooked onions served alongside steak. I usually like to take a home a portion of ribeye for later, but this is one of the very few instances when the steak is so good, that I can't help but finish it here. Again, the portion is more than enough to be shared. Fromage Blanc Mousse - 9.1 / 10 This seasonal dish hits all the right notes. It's the fanciest of cheesecakes, so I recommend sharing this. With its decadence, a little truly goes a long way & that's perfectly fine. The richness of the cheese is offset perfectly by the right balance of candied kumquats. A great "bite" to end on. Huge shout-out & thanks to Radu for being the nicest & most enthusiastic of servers. It's little things like him being so down to take pics of you with your party that really make me want to come back here. It the owners / management is reading this, please recognize how pivotal he is to your team. If he was working under me, I would most definitely give him a raise. Also, shout-out to Dani at the hostess stand. She is one of the most personable people. For being the first person that patrons see upon entering, she is the perfect face, attitude, & welcoming personality that the hospitality industry is in dire need of. She's a rockstar of a hostess & a pleasure to talk with. Bestia is a better place because of valuable employees like Radu & Dani. As always, come for the food. Come back for the service. I would definitely come back because of how amazing Radu & Dani are. Years after the hype, the vibe is still very much happening at Bestia.

Bestia was unfortunately very overhyped. The restaurant encourages ordering shareable plates, but…read morethe portions were extremely small, and the food itself was just okay--not bad, but nothing memorable. The biggest disappointment was the service. Our server was unwilling to accommodate even simple requests. One friend in our group doesn't drink, and when we asked if her mocktail could be served in a cocktail glass so she could feel included, he simply said no. He also refused to make an espresso martini despite having the ingredients available. To make matters worse, one of our dishes never arrived. When we brought it up, the server responded, "I asked you if it came out and you said yes," instead of apologizing for the mistake. Afterward, he took the bill and appeared to be talking negatively about our table. For a restaurant with such a stellar reputation, I expected much better. Between the tiny portions, average food, and poor service, I won't be back

Everything we've tried has been excellent, and it's one of those rare restaurants where every dish feels like a hit. The Caesar salad is easily one of the best I've had. Every piece of lettuce is perfectly coated in dressing, the croutons are great, and the mountain of freshly grated cheese takes it over the top. The garlic bread is unreal. If you order the prawns, do yourself a favor and dip the bread into that buttery garlic sauce, spoon some extra sauce on top, and eat it while it's soaked. It's ridiculous. The Alla Vodka pasta is always a safe choice, rich and comforting without being too heavy. The lasagna came out with a beautifully crisp top straight from the oven and was packed with flavor. The potatoes were another surprise favorite--super crispy and served with a house-made aioli that made them impossible to stop eating. The chicken parm was excellent too: crispy, fresh, loaded with sauce, and exactly what you want from a classic Italian-American dish. The meal ended on a high note with complimentary limoncello shots from the house. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and panna cotta. The panna cotta had a subtle basil flavor that made it unique and memorable, while the tiramisu was honestly one of the best I've ever had--light, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Service was fantastic. The staff was friendly, funny, and genuinely welcoming. The funniest part of the night was that we accidentally booked a reservation at the Donna in New York instead of this restaurant. Even after our mistake, the host was incredibly kind and got us seated within about 15 minutes. One thing to note: pets are not allowed, except for service animals. Donna's has become one of my favorite spots. Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. I'll definitely keep coming back.

We made a reservation for Thursday night just incase there was a wait. Upon arrival, we noticed they were very busy and the wait was pretty long so I do recommend making a reservation a least a few days before arrival. The hostess sat us after 5-10 min, the whole restaurant was BUZZING with people and dates. The restaurant overall was fairly small and intimate so it's understandable why the wait would be long. The server, Robert, was extremely friendly when he greeted us. He recommended a few cocktails to us and apps. We grabbed a few cocktails and got their garlic bread and cesar salad for the table. The garlic bread was good but honestly a pass for the future visit. The cesar salad was really good and refreshing so we will forsure get another. I, personally, got the Limoncello Drop (Their twist on a limoncello and lemon drop martini) which was delicious! I highly recommend getting one, it's extremely light, refreshing and zesty. For the mains, We decided on the chicken marsala, spaghetti & meatballs, and Fusilli alla vodka. The chicken marsala was extremely juicy and flavorful while it's smothered in onions and mushrooms. The spaghetti was decent, alittle bland and lacking flavor so we'd pass on it next time. The Fusilli alla vodka was our favorite though! The flavor is the chilis and vodka sauce work well together and the pasta was cooked very well. I got extra calabrian chilis for the pasta which complimented the pasta very well. We noted that the vodka is a MUST in the future. For dessert, since we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, we got the olive oil cake which was soooo delicious. They do NOT offer free or complimentary dessert for birthdays (which we didn't expect nor want) so just a heads up! The cake was really moist and flavorful yet did strongly taste like oil (kinda obvious). The did put a candle and whip creme on top for us to sing which was really cute. Overall, I recommend stopping in for a cute date night or to celebrate birthdays! The staff was really nice and funny. Most of the food was really yummy and flavorful. Plus all of the cocktails were a decent price point and full of flavor and ingredients. I will for sure be back soon to try more and grab another Limoncello drop martini!!

The Caesar salad was really good, and the branzino was honestly one of the best I've ever had - great presentation too. The kitchen staff in the back were some latino dudes but tbey clearly know what they're doing because the food tasted very authentic and well executed. I'm giving 3 stars for service because we waited way too long for our bottle of wine. When it finally came out, it wasn't the bottle I ordered, and our waitress Lauren insisted it was the same thing, which felt insulting because it was obviously not the same vintage - it was off by two years. At that point, I just wanted some wine already, so l let it go. That said, the ambiance was great, and the food alone makes this place worth visiting.

We stopped here on our way home from our honeymoon, and it turned out to be a great choice to end the trip on a high note. The service was genuinely excellent. We had a reservation for two, were warmly welcomed, and our server did an outstanding job throughout the evening. In Los Angeles, it can be hard to find places where the staff actually seems to enjoy what they do, and this was a refreshing exception. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed experience. The margherita pizza was the one that disappointed me the most, mostly because I had high expectations. I love a good margherita, but this one had too much cheese and sauce and not enough basil, so it ended up tasting more like a plain cheese pizza, which is honestly my least favorite. That said, the crust was absolutely sensational. The meatballs were decent but could have used more salt. The desserts, however, were the highlight of the meal. When we mentioned it was our honeymoon, the staff surprised us with a complimentary olive oil cake, which was my first time trying one and it was wonderful. The fried dough with Nutella was also amazing. The desserts here are generous, well-made, and absolutely worth saving room for. Overall, a lovely experience with room for improvement on the savory side.

The experience did not disappoint -- it was beautiful from beginning to end. Our extraordinary server was James. He was engaging, attentive and unpretentious. His knowledge of the menu was impressive as he explained each section and item in a simplified way. After making our choices, he suggested changing one of our pasta selections since they all had heavy sauces. We accepted his recommendation of the Spaghetti Arrabbiata, which turned out to be everyone's favorite! The tomato-based sauce was light and perfectly spicy. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was amazing. The focaccia, oxtail meatballs and burrata with ham were a great start, showcasing the quality of the ingredients and thoughtful preparations -- they set the tone for our entire meal. The taste and texture of the freshly made pastas were unmistakable and so, so good with the wonderful sauces. The lamb chops were well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. I especially enjoyed the bed of sliced snow peas, green beans and English peas set over mint sauce. After all that, we had just enough room for shared desserts -- Budino and Tiramisu. Both were the perfect finish to a delicious meal. If you like chocolate, the Budino is for you -- rich but not overly sweet. Each yummy bite with the crumble topping was nicely balanced by the sprinkled salt. Service was impeccable and well-coordinated. We especially appreciated that dishes and utensils were changed after each course. A couple things to keep in mind: *Reservations - Via Resy. The reservation window is open 14 days at a time. *Parking - Valet is right in front. We found street parking just around the corner on Sunset (metered but free after 7pm). *Price Point - Approximately $100 per person. Mother Wolf is a cashless establishment. A 5% wellness fee is added to all checks. We will absolutely be back!
