We found a few reviews on yelp that led us to this place. The food was wonderful, the staff was friendly and prompt. We also got a chance to talk with Miguel, the owner. The salsa was a great way to start. They had a great white cheese dip (chili con queso) that comes in a hot skillet. We loved our enchiladas, tacos and tamales. The place is tastefully decorated and the staff was welcoming. They brought us chips and salsa immediately, which was delicious, the chips were thin they way I like them and salsa has a kick. The queso was average. The steak fajitas came out tough and the onions were barely cooked. The second time they brought it back it was much better and they were very nice about it. The chicken fajitas was good, chicken cooked well. The guacamole was mild tasting and overall I would say a little more flavoring is needed on the steak and guac. Yeah, so this place really shouldn't exist given the plethora of good Mexican options in south Florida. I originally ordered a Fajita salad with thousand island dressing. The waitress didn't know what "thousand island" was and kept recommending the Caesar dressing. When I pointed to the listed dressings available (under the Green Salad entree), she took that to mean I wanted a green salad in addition to my fajita salad. No. I've never had a waitress so terrible at understanding English. After at least 3 minutes struggling to get her to understand what "is land" dressing is, she finally takes my order. Except not. She comes back in 2 minutes asking what dressing I wanted. Again. I thought that was the end of it, but noooo... 15 minutes later she comes back out and says there is no "is land" dressing. I cancel my order because I didn't care for the other dressing options. She gets the chef and/or manager involved. He then explains to me again that they didn't have thousand island dressing. I said (again) that I didn't want the salad anymore. He throws up his hands in an exasperated manner since it seems like they already prepared the salad. Frankly if you let me know that there was no thousand island initially (or at any point during the painfully difficult interaction with the waitress) I would've ordered something else. But. I finally chose the veggie quesadilla. While I commend the restaurant for getting the quesadilla out in lightning quick speeds, it is not an exaggeration to say that was the worst quesadilla I've ever had. And this is coming from a girl that enjoys Taco Bell quesadillas. Who puts CELERY in quesadillas??? Also carrots, but that wasn't nearly as offensive in the quesadilla as CELERY. I like celery, just not in cheesy torilla Mexican food. Needless to say, I won't be back. I also wouldn't put it above the chef to have spit a loogie in my food. Gross. read more

Came here on a weeknight after reading all of the great reviews. But I was quickly disappointed. I ordered the jalapeño margarita to start and after receiving it, the waiter told me they ran out of jalapeño so that was the first thumbs down of the night. Then after 15 min of waiting, the restaurant was empty btw we ordered the main courses. I ordered the steak mi pueblo, it was just a plain steak with peppers and onions on top and it came with rice and beans. The food was bland and flavorless. After living in Vegas for 3 years and having really good Mexican food , I have yet found authentic Mexican food here in south Florida. My hubby had pork enchiladas in a green sauce. His food was a little better than mine , it had more of the Mexican flavor but it still was kind of bland. The service was so so , we sat at our table for a good 15min before they took our dinner order. Sadly I don't think I will be back. Everyone in the previous reviews talked about the table side guacamole, however, it was mediocre at best. It needed salt and wayyyyy more lime. Arroz con Pollo wasn't arroz con pollo at all, it has some random red sauce, didn't really get what we expected. In the combination section of the menu is where I went for my choice, I got a chicken enchilada and a beef chimichanga, both were good, I enjoyed it. The beef was seasoned well and I liked the crunchiness. The salsa was soupy and lackluster, didn't really have any tomatoes and was clearly missing some seasoning and herbs (I.e. cilantro). Let me say that the service was impeccable, the server was attentive and very nice. Consistently bringing us chips and cokes as we finished and refilling the salsa as we finished with that as well. read more

Best Margarita I have had. Not full of sugary syrup, just delish and so refreshing! The table side guacamole is a MUST. We asked fro medium spice (that was still VERY spicy for me). Chips and salsa just kept coming and the salsa was very very good. Fajitas, were ok. Fried Ice cream hit the spot. The ambiance is great and the service was above fantastic. I made an order online and when we got home after picking up the order we realized my sons combo was missing a taco. I call the restaurant and the woman on that answered put a man on the phone when I'm explaining to him that a taco was missing from one of the combos on my order, he went back and forth with me with an attitude and told me to go in and pick up the taco. I drove my 15 yr old son back to the restaurant to pickup his taco, as he approached the counter, a man asked him if he was there to pick up the taco, my son answered yes, then the man proceeded to tell him with an Bad attitude "well they are not done" , my son answered ok thank you and walked out of the restaurant and he felt so awkward and insulted at the mans attitude that he told me to forget the taco he did even want anymore. This is really sad he is just a kid, you need to have good customer service along side good food. Food is decent but service was awful not worth the food. We will Not be going back. read more

We went here for a birthday celebration. I had the feeling it would not be good based upon the fact that they say they have Margaritas but no liquor license which means the Margaritas are wine base. Service was horrible. We ordered guacamole it took for ever to come. They had one server for the whole restaurant. We finally get our food but we have no silverware or napkins. We asked several times they finally brought them. I had a 3 taco dinner . Taco Nells taco are much better. Retried beans snd rice err tasteless. I recently had the opportunity to work as a Server at Dos Amigos and I please urge you to read this before visiting. I was very unhappy with my time there. I found out a lot about the place and how it is run and how unsanitary it is. Concerning the food and sanitation I have a few warnings. Much of the restaurant is unclean. I was appalled when I started my first day and I could smell the aroma of roaches and bug spray in the air near the bar and around the bar sink. After wiping down the counters I found that most of the surface area near the bar sink and ice station where they keep the drink cups were covered in roach feces. After I made a few margaritas one night they informed me that I do not have to put the silver cocktail shakers or the big "Margarota" glasses in the bin to be washed in the back, but was informed to quickly rinse the cup in the front bar sink and leave it to dry on the surface...where I had just cleaned up the roach feces. On another occasion I was looking for a small salsa cup for a customer that had ordered more salsa and I could not find any clean saucer cups. Estelle a waitress and the wife of the owner, as well as the cook /"dishwasher" told me to quickly rinse out a dirty cup with water.... and use that to give to the customer. no soap, no steam. so a cup of salsa was sent out to a customer where it had just been sitting in dirty dishes. Not a good experience and food was very bland. Prices were average. Messed up our order....did go back and correct it but didn't prepare a new dish, just added missing uncooked onions to the original dish. This restaurant was recommended to us by our Airbnb host and it definitely did not disappoint! This was our first meal in Pompano beach and it was well worth it. We started by ordering the pitcher of margarita and we are both bartenders and this was one of the best margaritas we have had. Our waiter, Mario made it with fresh ingredients and it showed. We both got the tostada and enchilada combo, my friend is vegan and they were able to accommodate her with absolutely no issues! Also, they have Tapatio on the tables but they also have an amazing (extremely spicy) homemade red hot sauce as well!The service was beyond amazing by Mario. He gave us so many recommendations on where to go as he would as a local and he even told us about the groupon deal that was going on and I was super impressed by that as well.
