    Quesadilla with Hatch Chile
    Melanie L.

Been coming here with Natomas Run Club to help support local businesses and the staff is always amazing! Ordered at the counter and food came out quickly. 5/5 steak quesadilla with hatch chile. Their steak is SO DANG GOOD. I smell it the second I walk in. I asked for spicy and they added extra chile. The ends could've been more cheesy but there was a good amount of meat. This is high top 3 on my list of favorite quesadillas for sure! 4.5/5 green avo salsa at the salsa bar 5/5 Yucatán steak salad - huge portions and the presentation is everything. 4/5 green chile stew - hearty with tons of flavor. Comes with 2 tortillas. I'll continue to come here for the steak!

It is a good place to eat something fresh clean and quick. I always order yolo mango burrito, it is delicious. Services here is always good, employees are very friendly.

Dos coyotes is an American Mexican spot that doesn't really try to be more than what it is. You have the standard options like tacos, burritos and sizzling fajita plates. Nothing is going to knock your socks off but you're not going to be mad either. I was in the mood for a surf and turf burrito so I got a shrimp burrito and added steak. Super solid. The salsa bar had some nice options too so overall was a good meal. I will say, the thing that will bring me back is the service. Everyone there is on top of their game. The food comes out lightning fast, the "waiters" are always humming by if you need anything. I was impressed. Food: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Marcels foodie score: 4/5

This might be one of the only perfect 5 star places of all time for me. I would give this place a 6/5 stars if possible. This place is one of the few places that actually allows dine in during COVID (a major plus). I was so happy when this chain moved from its mid town location to something much closer to me; it's practically in my backyard! I have been coming to Dos Coyotes at other locations to eat for decades. The food is always better than expected. Almost everything on the menu is a hit, no misses. My go-to is always the border burrito. They have a wide beer selection. There are vegetarian options on the menu like potato tacos or salads. This restaurant is a really great example of how to do Tex-mex/Mexican-American food the right way. The ambiance is nice with top hits playing and a really neat Arizonan pueblo architecture that has hanging peppers throughout the r Probably the best part about this restaurant is the salsas. The roasted tomatillo is quite literally the best flavor that will ever come in contact with your tongue. I always get extra salsa and practically drink it while I eat it is so good. The service is always very friendly and FAST to prepare your order. The restrooms are consistently clean and the hand soap smells so good that I want to steal the wall mounted soap and use it at home. Bottom line/TLDR: absolutely nothing wrong about this place, really good food.

The food here is excellent! This place has great ambience and courteous customer service. I placed an order for pick up was ready in less than 10 minutes. They also have a great salsa bar where you can have whatever you like! What you see here is a border burrito, ranchero style, and a side of steak

I love our neighborhood Dos Coyotes. We have dined in and ordered takeout and food is always good. Our all time favorite is the paella burrito. Always great service. We do not wait long for food. Nice place and clean. Thank you.

Burritos have gotten smaller at this dos coyotes. I mean I don't care about the prices of everything going up (I do but) but at least make the portions equal to what it used to be. Geez! Pic shown is 1/2 burrito and real thin.

COCKROACH DEEPLY EMBEDDED IN MY SALAD. They continued to serve guests after this was brought to their attention, including serving the exact contaminated salad I got 4 minutes later. Called the County Health Inspector, who said the roach was in the lettuce obtained by Sysco foods, purchased by Dos Coyotes. Why aren't they inspecting the FOOD THEY GET FROM SYSCO???? WOW, DO NOT EAT HERE. At least they didn't try to deny it and saved the roach for when the inspector showed up hours later.

The service is quick Comes on a nice plate Ambiance is kinda quiet. We came early My meal was good - bit on the spicy side and you get tons!

Crispy potato tacos with a flavorable crunchy slaw in the front. In the background were the salmon tacos.

While in West Sacramento, we were in the mood for some good Mexican food. Dos Coyotes was close to the hotel, so we stopped in for a light dinner. We ordered at the counter, and found a high top table next to the window. Shortly after sitting, we visited the salsa bar and found a nice selection of salsa's. Our food was out quickly, and it looked delicious. I ordered the potato tacos and the potatoes in the crispy tortillas were crispy, there were a lot of nice textures in these tacos. Mr. Bee ordered the salmon tacos and found them delicious. The chips on the side were crispy and the salsas all were scrumptious. We were very happy with our meal, and would absolutely eat there again if we find ourselves back in the area.

    Eliza G.

I like their Yolo Mango Burrito Bowl. It has a nice kick to it with the mango and tangy sauce evening out the spiciness. It's nothing super amazing imo but it's a quick simple meal and comes with complimentary chips. The salsa bar is convenient as you help yourself to as much as you please. I like the Pico de Gallo and the Green sweeter ones the best. I've tried some of their regular chicken tacos and didn't really like them. Makes me not want to explore the menu and just stick with the mango bowl I like. Service is good. Restaurant clean. Not busy the times I've gone.

Border burrito, $16 same size as hand. Very small.

I hadn't been since last summer and was happy to return. Parking can be a bit hectic, but once you're inside, the atmosphere makes up for it. It's a family-owned spot, and you can feel it right away -- everyone is kind, welcoming, and takes the time to check in on you. We came for breakfast, but they also offer lunch and barbecue options, so there's plenty to choose from depending on when you go. They've also expanded and now have a location in Elk Grove. I ordered the French toast plate, which came with thick-cut slices of bread, eggs, and bacon. The French toast was soft on the inside with a nice golden finish, full of flavor without being overly sweet. The eggs were well seasoned, and the bacon was cooked just right. BB ordered the cheeseburger with fries and a side of grits. The burger was juicy with grilled onions and melted cheese, and the fries had that crispy, beer-battered texture. Everything came out hot and satisfying. Overall, a great spot for comfort food with genuinely friendly service. Definitely planning to come back -- especially for the biscuits and gravy next time.

They had some unique syrups, such as bourbon caramel and praline. The syrups were on the more subtle side, which some people prefer. I am not one of those people, but it was a good latte for a breakfast/ brunch spot. I wish there was more ice tho.  The skillet cornbread with sharp cheddar, creamed corn & garlic, honey butter & house made seasonal jam on the side was a great starter dish. We learned on our very first visit how good the gumbo is and it's become a must ever since. The people who work here are friendly and you can tell they have a lot of regulars who stop in for food. There's a gravel lot right next to the building and you can take your food to go or enjoy it there. Our food took about 15-20 minutes and then we took it home to enjoy. The portions are definitely fair for the price. They also pack everything well for the ride home. The gumbo is our favorite, it's flavorful and packed with protein like their sausage, chicken, and shrimp and has just a hint of spice. We tried their riblets for the first time and it was a generous portion and we really enjoyed the bbq sauce they used. The mac and cheese is good, but I like mine creamier. It does have a little spice which was nice. The dressing was packed with flavor and we were excited they offered this side because you don't see it everywhere. Their hot water cornbread is definitely something they're known for and is really good on its own or dipped into the gumbo. The Palmer here tastes like Brisk raspberry tea mixed with lemonade, and we really enjoy this twist on it. Overall this spot is a local gem and we love visiting.

I decided to stand there and review the very clear appetizing menu, taking a moment to soak in this unusual eating spot. I enjoyed the uniqueness and creativity of the layout--you have to be here to understand it. Anyway, as I was standing there, I heard a very pleasant voice ask, "May I help you?" I reached up and turned up my "pretend" hearing aid to make sure I heard that voice coming from a professional Young Queen. It made me forget I was at a soul food establishment! Usually, I am greeted with rolling eyes, laziness, and--most of all--attitude. (See one of my old podcasts link below regarding my opinion on soul food restaurants on iHeartRadio): https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-the-david-mack-show-105280474/episode/lena-s-soul-food-in-oakland-ca-119449772/?cmp=android_share&sc=android_social_share&pr=false Back to my review: Her name is Victoria... like the Queen! I told Victoria I was looking at the menu, which has a very nice variety of soul food selections. Victoria asked me if I would like to sample the gumbo. Sure! Victoria came back with a small, teasing sample, and after tasting it, I told her, "SOLD!" Just from the taste of that gumbo, I knew my Mother's Spirit was back there doing the cooking. It was a very cold day, and I would have eaten there, but because of the layout, I ordered the family size to-go. The gumbo also comes with hot water cornbread. Victoria took my order, my payment, and advised me it would be ready in five minutes. I waited in my car. I came back in four minutes, and my order was already bagged and ready for pickup. I "suffered" during the hour-long drive home, smelling the aroma of that meal the whole way! Finally home, I opened the secure bag, filled to the top container, and took out the prize. The food presentation was excellent! I put the gumbo in a bowl, and it was still very hot. I then proceeded to taste my meal: Rice: Nice and fluffy! Chicken: Flavored perfectly. Soup Juice: Perfect. Prawns: Excellent. Sausage: Plump and sliced perfectly. All many other ingredients: Very tasty with a hint of spice. Note: There were no crab legs to make a mess (which I did NOT miss) and no slimy okra (which was great)! The sweet hot water cornbread was very buttery and looked like a thick pancake. I put mine in the toaster oven to warm it up and get it a little crisp. It was amazing! That gumbo not only warmed me up, but it also put me to sleep like a big baby! If this restaurant continues with the trajectory of this review (professional attitude, unique layout, and great menu items), they will be the "go-to" soul food spot on the 80! I wouldn't change a thing! I will return because I want to report on another food item I had my eye on before the gumbo sample! Go check out this spot and see the Young Queen Victoria! Make sure you tip her for great service (No Tax On Tips), just like I did! David Mack (Reviewer-in-Chief)

Q1227 easily became one of my favorite dining experiences in Sacramento…read more We started with the lobster bites and broccolini. The lobster bites came with a lemon wedge and their house Thousand Island sauce, and that sauce was incredible. The combination of the crispy lobster, lemon, and sauce worked perfectly together. The broccolini was also seasoned really well and paired nicely with the grilled lemon. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the smoothest I've had. One detail I loved was that they stamped the restaurant's logo into the ice cube. Small touch, but really cool. For my main course, I ordered the Grilled Huli Huli Chicken with a crispy rice cake, pineapple, greens, and a house sauce that completely made the dish. The sweet and tangy flavor paired perfectly with the chicken. Me and my girlfriend also shared the mac and cheese, and honestly, this was one of the best mac and cheeses I've had. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and the breadcrumbs on top added the perfect texture. My girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and carrot purée. The short rib was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. Everything on the plate was delicious. One thing that surprised me was the portion sizes. Everything was very filling, and we ended up taking some food home. By the time dessert came around, we were already pretty full, but there was no way we were skipping it. To finish the night, we shared the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy and lively, but it never felt crowded. The tables were spaced out really well, so my girlfriend and I could still enjoy our conversation and watch the basketball game. I also appreciated seeing Chef Q and his wife walking around and checking on guests throughout the night. They stopped by tables to see how everyone was enjoying their food, which was a really nice touch. I even had the chance to take a picture with Chef Q before we left, which was super cool. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail, this is easily one of the top restaurants I've been to in Sacramento. Definitely worth a visit.

When we arrived on a Monday, the restaurant wasn't crowded, so we expected attentive service. We were seated, our server came over for drinks, and we let him know we were celebrating my aunt's birthday. This restaurant usually has a nice way of acknowledging birthdays, so we were looking forward to that, but it never happened. We ordered the lobster bites, and they were outstanding as always. My mom, who is allergic to seafood, started feeling a little nauseous from the smell and asked our server for some lemons. He walked away, and we never saw him again. After waiting for quite a while, we asked another server, who brought them over immediately. Our salads and soup were delivered by a food runner, and once again, our server was nowhere to be found. I eventually had to flag down the manager just to have our appetizer and soup plates cleared from the table. Our entrees arrived, the server asked how everything was, and then disappeared again. The next time we saw him was when he dropped off the check. What made it even more frustrating was watching him repeatedly check on, laugh with, and chat with the table behind us while barely acknowledging ours. We completely understand that restaurants get busy and servers can get overwhelmed, but that didn't seem to be the case here. For a $300 dinner for four people at an upscale restaurant, I expected a much higher level of service. The manager did remove our desserts from the bill, and I appreciate that gesture, but I honestly felt more should have been done once it was clear how neglected our table had been. The biggest disappointment is that the food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was delicious, which made the lack of service stand out even more. This has always been one of my favorite locations, so I truly hope this was just an off night. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and didn't reflect the level of service I've come to expect from this restaurant.
