This establishment was a random pick we decided to go and eat after a long day of skiing and tubing in the mountains. Take note we are visiting in Colorado and are not familiar with any restaurants here, so we walk in and my first impression of the restaurant was the warm lighting and the hostess greeting us making the experience welcoming. Now to the food, my nachos were good, crispy, and freshly done. The tinga was well cooked and marinated and went well with the crunchy nachos. Definitely recommended. Also I almost forgot to mention the horchata drink was extremely delicious , this drink goes with any dish on the menu. Customer service was great as well, being we were a party of 10.The staff did really well. I hope this helps my fellow travelers choose a great destination to grab a delicious bite . P.S. The tacos at Dos Santos are really excellent! So yummy! And the margaritas are yummy too! I recommend this place wholeheartedly! The atmosphere can be a little bit crowded and noisy sometimes if you're indoors but outside on the patio it's not usually a problem! Dos Santos is a great weekday lunch spot in my opinion. The fun atmosphere lends itself to a quick stop for tasty food. They are in a great location and have a menu that suits just about everyone I have brought by to dine. Favorites include the chicken tinga chips, al pastor taco and the tuna tostada with the tostada being my number one choice. Serving sizes are small and prices don't quite reflect that (see note about great location), so I try to look at it as an opportunity to try a few things. Variety and all that. Most of the food has a lot of flavor and the temperature is usually pretty good. They do seem to disregard special requests (like no cilantro) and aren't overly engaged so most times we've just worked around the oversight since it's not an allergy issue. Thinking back, I am pretty sure almost every visit has been lunch on a Monday usually bringing an out of towner by before heading to the airport. Dos Santos is located in downtown Castle Rock. It looks small from the outside however it can see quite a few people I would recommend this place for a group of 6 to 8 and that's about it for a larger group. Other than that it's a fun vibe place to have drinks and tacos for a group of 2 to 4 parking is going to be found along the streets sometimes you have to pay for the parking at the pay machine. I came here with a party of five and we were accommodated right away on a Saturday around 7 PM. The music was good. The service was great. We were helped by Nate and the transition of him having to enter shift to the next person was so smooth, I had the hibiscus margarita and it was absolutely delicious. The brittle on top of my chocolate pudding was so yummy I don't really like flan but the presentation was beautiful. The salsa's were Dell-icious ! The chips or nice and warm and had a crisp seasoned flavor. There were many tacos ordered, and a tuna tostada as well as a State, Asada, and chicken taquitos. Service was good! No complaints there. We mainly stopped by because it was National Margarita Day. Unfortunately they didn't have any specials, but we happened to stumble in during happy hour. I saw street corn was on the happy hour menu for $6 and I LOVE street corn. While it was absolutely delicious and pretty spicy (probably from the habanero aioli), I didn't think it was worth $6 (usually $8) because of the portion. It was disappointingly small. We also tried the House Tommy Margarita made with Arette Blanco, agave, and fresh lime. That one was $8.50 during happy hour which normally costs $13. The high prices are most likely due to the location, which is too bad. Excellent margaritas! Im sure their other drinks are great too. I just don't think it's worth the price. read more

Add an extra 5% to the already expensive, small tacos you are buying because that's the hidden cost they add to your bill to pay their kitchen. This is just a deceptive way to get more money. This isn't going to sit well with their customers. They would be better off just increasing their food prices by 5% and then paying their kitchen more. We don't like sneaky fees. It feels yucky, like you are being stolen from. And forget about asking them to split the bill. I mean, why try and make your customer's experience easier for them? Food was as good, no complaints other than the proportion size and taste was not worth the money. Server was kind, but not attentive. We won't be coming back. read more

Tacos are somewhat overpriced but good, chips and salsa flight is good. Service usually leaves something to be desired. You can tell the servers usually cater more to bigger groups or younger people more often and don't spend as much time on tables of two (like me and my husband). Pretty much always have to ask for refills and things that we may need. But when I've been in with a bigger group of girls, service has been better. This is the kind of place the you will walk away from and think, I wasn't blown away, but it is a solid joint. So here is the thing, the food was delicious!!! Like seriously great tacos! Killer even! But their "happy hour" margarita was $15!?! That's ridiculous! It was tasty and unique, but served in a low ball glass, I was shocked when my two tacos, 1 happy hour taquito (cheap at $4) and 1 drink was almost $40! I'll go again, but based on cost alone cannot rate higher than 3 stars. Definitely worth 3.5 but alas here we are... Fish taco was the best, Al pastor was good but slightly chewy meat. Taquitos we're also fantastic, deep fried flour tortillas are hard to beat! Definitely go but plan to spend more than you'd like to. Which is sort of the norm these days... read more

Came here for brunch and it was awesome! Started with Bloody Mary and Margaritas and chips and salsa. The kids loved the house made limeade too! Our server was super attentive and helpful. I got the breakfast sandwich with tots. It was okay. The sandwich was light and fluffy but the tots were hard and tasteless. Hubby got the chicken tinga taco and OMFG taco - both were very good. He was disappointed that they didn't offer full taco menu for brunch - good heads up if you are heading there between 10-2 on a weekend. Kids got quesadillas that were larger than my face! So good and came with a healthy supply of guacamole. Our friends got the Buddha Bowl and Chiquiles. We chose Dos Santos due to the unique menu offered. Based on other reviews, we expected the prices to be a little higher. We ordered different tacos that we all just loved! The mushroom and cauliflower tacos were delicious as well as the chicken tinga. Our table had two couples and the tacos were divided on 2 different plates. Dos Santos called it family style. I like the location and the atmosphere is trendy too. **I know they are new and maybe working out kinks so I'm writing this in hopes that the management is open to feedback and change. Happy hour marg is good! Food selection is not so good. I can't get over the fact that they make you buy chips and salsa. I'd rather go to a Mexican restaurant that includes chips and salsa complementary. Menu is limited. Tacos I have tried are good, but let me point out these are street taco sized so you need to keep that in mind when ordering amount. They are all sold ala carte. Brunch times aren't very flexible. They only offer on the weekends. We are in suburbia and need weekday brunch while kids are at school. Tribe is everyday of the week and great divide does bottomless mimosas. Stools are uncomfortable at tables because they are backless. Great music selection but it can get loud. It has t bothered me at the bar but at a table it's hard to talk over. Prices are high if you don't go on taco Tuesday. Hope the bartender is amazing. She is so friendly and honestly great at her job. She deserves a raise. read more

My friend and I met here based on the reviews, it is a great meet up spot! It's really cute and a great location in Castle Rock. We got in just at the tail end of happy hour and our bartender was able to get in an HH round for us. I got a happy hour house marg and it was decent but could use more tequila. We ordered chips and salsa and they came with a great green salsa and smoky salsa- but, I reeeeeally have a problem with places that charge for chips and salsa! C'mon, it's like .20! I paid $5 for chips and two small things of salsa. That's a bummer. It took a while to order because they were busy, but our server/ bartender was so nice and slammed so we weren't mad. The tacos were amazing! They were small but the filling portion was generous. But seriously, so so good. My friend got the Akumal bowl, she can't have any dairy and they accommodated her. The prices were kind of high for the portions- I paid $32 for 2 tacos and marg and chips and salsa. The tacos are around $5 each, which is common for street tacos, but they could be bigger. Really enjoyed our late lunch at this Mexican modern style restaurant. We ordered a number of different appetizers and entrées, and everyone loved their food. Delicious experience. Definitely needed this in Castle Rock. It is not your typical "Tex Mex" mosh of beans and rice you find around here. Ingredients are fresh tasting and the food is unique. I love the flare they added to their food. Restaurant is kind of small but it has two bars and a variety of seating. Chairs are small stools, so might be tough with small kids. You can park on the street or in the Encore parking structure. The restaurant sits under the encore condo structure which makes it easy if you park in the parking structure. Food is pricey at over $5.50 a taco but its worth! It was $76 with out tip for my husband and I. We had 5 Tacos, steak quesadilla, chips and salsa, and 2 drinks. We hadn't planned to go to Dos Santos but we are really glad we did! The chips were so good, they have seasoning on them that added just the right amount of flavor and both the tinga nachos and guac were fantastic. The tacos were also great - my personal favorite was the fried shrimp. The batter had a sweet hint to it that made it stand out. The only reason why it's not 5 stars is because the space itself is cramped. I get that might be the style they were going for but I felt like I was on top of the couple sitting next to us. read more

My god I slept on trying this place way too long. It is a bit pricy so it will have to be an every now & then treat but it soared to the top of my favorite Mexican spots in CO. The decor inside is adorable, & while it's tight in there, we went around 4:30 PM & we would've had no trouble being seated from then til 5:15 PM on a Friday (started to pick up on our way out). We tried the salsa flight, spicy passion fruit marg, blood orange marg, barbacoa quesdilla, & 3 tacos (barbacoa, chicken tinga, & beer battered shrimp). I really want to like it here, and there are some things to like. The food is good. But I just had a bad experience. We ordered the breakfast burritos at the window and came inside to eat them at the bar because it's 30 degrees outside. We have done this for a couple weeks every Wednesday at 11am after our workout. No one else is in the restaurant at this time. First, when asked what kind of salsa we wanted (green or red) and we asked for one of each, we were told we could only have one. They come in the tiny to go cups. Is this the kindergarten lunch line? We can only get one? That seemed strange but maybe the kid taking our order was new. As we sat at the empty bar in the middle of eating, the manager comes up and tells us that we can't sit inside if we order burritos from the window. "It's not a big deal this time, but next time you can't sit in here." I said, "really? That seems strange. It also seems strange that we are only allowed one salsa cup, that can't be right." She said, "that's always been the rule, one salsa." We felt shamed and embarrassed and continuing to sit at the bar eating after being told we shouldn't be there felt like we had gotten in trouble in front of all of the staff, especially since we were the only customers. We felt humiliated and in shock for what just happened. Right then she went up to the kid that took our order and told him to not allow people to sit inside who ordered from the window. She scolded him right in front of us. It was extremely awkward and put a damper on our morning. We did tell the manager how we felt and she refunded our burritos and gave us a card for a BOGO burrito. I asked her to give our feedback to the owner. They are missing out on business. If they allowed people to eat the breakfast burritos inside at the bar, people would probably order drinks, as well. Let alone, getting more business by not shaming their customers. The friend I was with takes a lot of his clients to local restaurants for business conversations and loves to recommend places to new residents. I know that this experience will get out and won't be worth whatever reason they have for not letting people eat inside the empty restaurant during winter or give customers more than one salsa cup. Even though we got the BOGO gift cards, I feel too weird going back there. Again, it's like getting trouble in 2nd grade for no reason. I'm too embarrassed to go back. Plus, I want to give my money to people who are kind to me. Coffee 33 next door has awful burritos but I'd rather go there where I feel welcomed. As someone who owns businesses for a living, I recommend the owner and managers read the book "Give Them The Pickle" and learn the art of business ownership and customer service. read more

Food was served pretty quickly. Nice that HH is daily 3-6 and all day Monday, but the HH menu was nothing to write home about... Unfortunately is was so ridiculously loud in the restaurant we could hardly carry a conversation. The servers changed three times during our meal and they forgot several items and served the wrong items.... They were bringing apps to our table as we were getting ready to leave that we clearly didn't order. I know for a fact they didn't hear half of what we asked for. We suggested turning the music down a little for both parties' benefit and we we're laughed at. Restaurant is pretty tiny and we were seated right as you walked in. Those in single chairs were bumped every time a server walked by. I may go again when the weather is nice and check out the patio. If the music is blaring....
