Just to see, I spent a day calling around for quotes. Some places wanted nearly $300/hr plus a long laundry list of hidden fees, and I thought there was no way it was worth it. But the last company I called was Sterling Interstate, and wow--what a breath of fresh air. We had already dealt with a lot of stress while closing on our first home, and we just needed a reliable team to cross the finish line. The moving industry doesn't always have the best reputation, so I was praying they'd be good--and they turned out to be the absolute best. Not only is their hourly rate very fair for the quality of work, but they also don't hit you with random fees. My husband and I had our home 95% packed and stacked, leaving them to navigate moving everything down a flight of stairs and prepping/packing the larger furniture. Since this was our first time hiring movers, we were blown away: they wrapped and packed everything like it was going cross-country! Even knowing it was only a 15-minute drive, they took zero chances with damage, and everything arrived completely untouched. I am terrible with names, so I've already forgotten the exact crew who came out, but they were AMAZING. On a brutally hot and humid July day in Arizona, they hustled nonstop for 6.5 hours. They took necessary breaks, but they worked so hard, all while cracking jokes with us and keeping the mood light. By the time they left, it felt like saying goodbye to old friends. Pro tip: If you hire movers in the AZ summer, please be kind--offer them cold water, sports drinks, and maybe some Rice Krispies Treats to keep them going! They saved us so much time and left us with the energy to unpack and settle in half the time it would have taken on our own. We are so thankful we went with Sterling Interstate. I don't even want to think about moving again, but it's a relief knowing exactly who we'll call when the time comes. 10/10 recommend!

What really stood out was how careful and methodical they were--making sure nothing was damaged during the process, especially with something as awkward and heavy as a full-body mount. They communicated well throughout, took their time where it mattered, and still got everything done quicker than expected. She is also very pleasant to work with because of her upbeat caring personality. The first time I met Jenny, I was not well and in need of help going through things in my home to decide what to ship to my other out of state home. Never overbearing, her helpful suggestions were well thought out always keeping in mind my needs. She carefully organized, packed, measured and weighed each box so that everything was was ready to be picked up at my front door. Jenny also photographed donations for my records then dropped them off at the donation center for me. Because I had planned on being away for months, Jenny suggested then took photos of my good silver that I was not moving so that I would have it for insurance purposes. Something I had not even thought about. Months later, when I decided to stay longer at at my other home, Jenny helped me once again. She went to my house and found everything on the list I sent her then professionally packed and shipped it all to me. There were many sentimental and fragile items. Everything arrived on time in perfect condition. Most recently, Jenny came to my rescue once again when I decided to sell my home. Downsizing and moving to another state is overwhelming and extremely stressful. Because of COVID I could not return. I was totally dependent on Jenny's expertise. It was a huge job. Doing this remotely via phone, photos and FaceTime felt like an impossible task but Jenny made it all seem so effortless. Her genuine compassion in understanding my concerns gave me so much peace of mind. She treated my home and all of my belonging like they were her most precious possessions. Her continuous communication via phone calls, photos and text messages kept me apprised of every aspect of the entire project from start to finish. She was always tireless, cheerful and on top of every aspect of my move right down to recommending a great moving company. As an added bonus, Jenny sold things I no longer needed or could not fit in my smaller home and took other items to consignment and donation places. Her knowledge of what would sell, where to sell it as well as pricing was extremely helpful. I was pleasantly surprised how much she sold! Jenny's professionalism at my home when meeting buyers for the furniture and other household items she sold for me was also impressive. To avoid having strangers walking through my home, she had things ready outside whenever possible. When picking up larger items Jenny stayed with each buyer while they removed their items. Thoughtful of my finances, she scheduled items to be picked up during a time she was already at my home working on other things. Every detail of clearing out my home was completed quickly, efficiently and so much easier than I could have ever imagined. I highly recommend Jennifer Almodover and More Than A Move!

All of the big name interstate movers turn down small sized interstate moves. I must have called 12 different movers; which included the well known companies and some of the smaller ones. The local companies are happy to take your business for intrastate moves; but not interstate moves. I was concerned when no contract was required by Brandon. However, this guy can be trusted to perform what is agreed upon with just using text messaging. He is also very careful with fragile pieces; taking great care in delivering them in one piece. Some movers suggested shipping our boxes. However, this is not an inexpensive option. Plus ,unlike Brandon, who carries your boxes out of the unit and into your destination ( we have three levels ); the usual shippers require delivery to the store and drop off at the eventual destinations front stoop. Their management team kept calling our movers (5-6x) trying to rush them for their next job before they were even done with our move. I could tell these young guys felt pressured and I actually had to tell them to stop answering because that's unprofessional. Not to mention, they charged our card before we ever authorized it. These guys are scammy. Don't use them.

We have a modular couch that didn't fit how we wanted it in the new place and they moved it all around until we got it how we liked it. They were incredible and we appreciate them so much. After we requested that our furniture be pad-wrapped for storage, we were charged $1,200 for 60 furniture pads at $20 each. Before work began, we were not given a written estimate stating the expected quantity or warning that wrapping could add approximately $1,200 to our bill. Our concern is not the wrapping itself, but the lack of transparency about the quantity and total material cost. A $20-per-pad price does not clearly communicate that approximately 60 pads may be used. A charge of this size should have been disclosed and approved in advance, rather than presented afterward as an unexpected surcharge. We asked Moving Team Six to review the charge and consider an adjustment, but did not receive the adjustment requested. Before hiring a moving company, get the expected material quantities, per-unit prices, total estimated costs, and approval process for additional charges in writing. This review reflects our experience and opinion. The lack of transparency and unexpected $1,200 surcharge made this experience particularly disappointing. I do not recommend hiring this company.

As we were packing we discovered the amount of items we needed to store were expanding. Judy realized they didn't have a 3rd unit and called several other local storage facilities in an attempt to help me locate one. When that didn't come to fruition, Judy emptied the unit they use to store their items for the facility and rented that to me as well. The place is clean and secure. Easily accessed. If I ever need storage again, I will call Greenway Mini Storage first. And I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone who asks.

Her positive attitude is contagious. She helped me with my storage needs. She was very thorough. She walked me through the property. The property is very nice. It looks brand new and extremely clean. It is centrally located, and unlike most climate controlled facilities. That one is actually cold inside. One of the things I noticed while touring the property was Renee knew all the renters that were on the property by name. I thought was wonderful. Throughout my three visits to the property to Renée was on site. One thing I will mention is being a store manager. I seen her personally with the cleaning cart and gloves on cleaning storage units cleaning as well as the facilities. As a manager myself, I thought her leading my example was amazing. She also checked on me to make sure I was doing OK because it was hot outside while unloading my U-Haul unit. She's very hands-on. She has a great personality. This store facilities is a very lucky to have her. I would highly recommend the facility based off of how clean it is, how well kept it, it's very centrally located in Phoenix. And of course, because of Renee.

I was looking for a recycling center that accepts soda cans, soda glass bottles and plastic water…read morebottles. This place only accepted my soda cans. They just don't accept plastic or glass bottles here. This place looks like a dump but the customer service is very fast and efficient. Most of the workers here are Spanish speaking so hopefully you can make out what they tell you. My Spanish is Sykes rusty so I only understood 5% of what they said. All in all, this was a pleasant experience. Obviously, you're not gonna get rich by recycling anything but it does give you some pocket change to maybe buy a lottery ticket or two. I don't recall what the exact redemption value was for bringing in your unwanted cans for cash but I got around 50 cents for maybe 1.5 lbs of soda cans. Almost enough for a $1 lottery scratcher. The workers here will unload your trunk for you and weigh it all and than give you the proper amount of money. Fast service and you don't even need to lift a finger besides opening your trunk that is. I'm from Hawaii and back home, you can actually pay a utility bill or cell phone bill with your recycling money. Not here in Phoenix, it's a totally different process here so I'm gonna start trashing all my recyclables instead. Hope this helps my fellow planeteers!!

Stay away from this company!!! I got a few quotes from different moving companies and Dose came in the cheapest. Marilee came to my house and estimated my job to take 2 people 8 hours for packing at $145/hr and 4 guys 7 hours to move us at $185/hr. Do the math and that comes to approx. $2450. She then suggested sending 4 packers to get it done faster. "I estimate packing to be 8 hours. Since you have small children we can always send 4 packers and get it done super fast to get out of your way of nap time etc....." Well the day of the packers being there it took 4 people 9 HOURS to pack our house. I stupidly had 8 hours in my head for as long as it would take the packers. My husband and I even packed up one of the rooms to help move things faster. Did the packers work hard? Yes, in fact they never took breaks, not that I saw at least. I was originally thinking the packers just went over by one hour from the estimated time but after the bill hit my credit card I saw we were charged almost $4,000!!!!!!!! In the chaos of the movers leaving and us trying to get organized my husband signed for the bill and said he thought they said it was $3100. I thought that didn't seem right at all but we were given 3 pieces of carbon copy paperwork and nowhere did it have the total on it. So it wasn't until Tuesday that it hit my account that we saw the real total. Now, to why it would take 4 packers a total of 36 man hours to pack a house estimated to take 16 hours. The OVERPACKING was unreal. I really wish I would have known how much we were being charged when we were unpacking the first few days. We were getting a kick out of how overdone so much of the stuff was. For example, a plastic travel soap dish was taped shut, wrapped in paper, taped, wrapped in bubble wrap, and taped again. I should mention that we have moved many times over the past 10 years. We lived in Europe for 5 years and made 3 big moves (bringing all of our belongings including furniture with us.) We've never had it take even close to this many hours for our stuff to get packed and that was for international moves! In addition there were many pieces of furniture they didn't need to pack as there was nothing breakable inside. On international moves, everything is removed from dressers, cabinets, etc and is packed. We've also never had someone be so far off base with their quote. We also packed up my son's entire room minus a few pictures on the wall. We did this in less than 30 minutes. I'd be willing to bet it would have taken them a few hours. I contacted Marilee initially just to inform her of the over packing and some damage done by the movers. Wasn't wanting to make a big deal out of anything or get anyone in trouble, just wanted to give her some feedback. That was before I realized how much we spent on moving our 2600 sq ft house 2 miles. That was before I realized she grossly underestimated how long it would take to pack our stuff and charged us $1500 over what she estimated. She said she was going to do some investigating and would get back to me. She later emails me to tell me she fired one of the packers from that day. Seriously?!?! 1)You just fire an employee like that and don't try to work with them or retrain? 2)You tell a customer that you fired an employee because of their feedback? Now I'm left feeling like not only did I get ripped off by this company but now someone lost their job because of me. I wish that on the day of the packing that when we hit the 4 hour mark I would have raised a flag but again, I had in my head it would take 8 hours. I wish that I would have been supervising more closely what they were doing but I trusted that they were efficient and were aware of the time I was quoted that the job would take. You'd think if they knew they were more than doubling the time I was quoted that someone would have said something? I also wish that we would have helped with the packing to help things move along faster but they seemed to have a process and I didn't want to get in the way. I also have 2 babies under 2 to take care of. At the end of the day, the only justification for why the cost would have been 60% higher than what was quoted is if we did something to hinder the packers ability to complete the job, which we didn't. So, there are only 2 other possible explanations, Marilee grossly underestimated the job (either intentionally to gain our business or unintentionally due to incompetence) or the packers were extremely inefficient (due to severely over packing) either way, that's Dose's fault and we should not be charged for their mistake/poor performance. So in the end, some poor guy lost his job for a poor performance but somehow Marilee escapes with no blame. I should mention that out of "good faith", they refunded me a pathetic $300 to compensate for the over packing by one employee, which means we were still charged 48% over the quote we received. read more

Let's start with the good, because, unfortunately it's much shorter than the bad. The people who showed up from Dose were really kind and gentle with the belongings that they managed to pack. Now the bad. We signed a contract with Dose for 3 packers. Only 2 showed up. We were informed upon arrival that Dose had the wrong packing list and did not provide the necessary items for packing our home. Then, the packing was slow, no doubt because they were given another client's packing list. No boxes for lamps, no boxes for lampshades, no bed cover. The process was further slowed down because they had to call the office to get some of the packing materials. About an hour later some of the packing materials arrived, some did not (no bed cover). At about 4 hours into a 3-person job, with only 2 people and not enough materials to pack, another two people arrived. One would think that 4 men could then make up for all the lost time. That did not happen. Initially, I was told by Dose that we were charged by the hour (not the men) and that they would finish the job no matter how long it took. At 4:45pm, with more than half of the cabinets in our home waiting to be packed, ¾ of the furniture unwrapped, all 4 men left the house. Really. They literally dropped everything (the house looked like the end of a garage sale). One man came back into the house to say, "We got a call from the office, we have to go to another house." And they wanted me to pay, in full, for a job half-done. I called Dose office immediately to confirm this. I was mad. I explained the situation. That's when a man who worked in the office talked down to me, for several minutes, about the definition of packing. By his own definition, Dose left half of the house unpacked. For a half-packed house, with fewer men than contractually promised, we were charged $2k. We had to hire another packing company to finish the job. The last thing anyone who is moving has time or energy for is writing a bad review. Look, we all have bad days and mess up stuff, but when Dose refused to call me back and communicate so we could make this mess right, I had to write this review so that others will be aware of Dose's lack of communication and follow up when their services aren't up to par. I'm sure Dose is great in many areas, but communication and honoring a contract was less great than we signed up for. read more

I would have summed up the experience to bad circumstances with Covid restrictions (all businesses are struggling with adjustments, I get that) but after having the owner curse and yell at me today, they're just not a good company to use. I will sum it up this way according to the owner a proper quote was not done - they could only go off the information provided by me and usually they would do an in person home bid but due to Covid " i am not going to be coming around houses with diseases and F****** sick people" - so that's my fault that they did not due a proper quote since they claim they never received the final move list from me - but showed up anyway? Thankfully all communication was primarily through email and they contradict themselves. My call was to find a resolution because I felt communication was the issue and that's something that can be easily solved. Communication issues are often two sided and we could've figured out how to meet in the middle on this. I was meant with hostility - cursing - yelling telling me I was "abusing" his wife by sending her an email with the issues we had and when I say yelling. I was at our office, our staff looked over because they could hear him through the phone. If this is not enough to make you not hire them, no floor coverings were used, property damaged, furniture broken, COVID guidelines (example: no masks unless asked, asked multiple times) are not being followed. The owners response " I don't appreciate you bad mouthing me to my employees after the move was rescheduled several times and not rebooked the proper way when booked with Patrick" referring to her husband who apparently did not rebook properly, and that is also my fault. Unfortunately this was a referral from a relator, who will never refer them again. but if you look through their (many fake) reviews you will see that this is what the owner does. He explodes, cursing and threatening you to intimate people. Appalling company. This review is long overdue, but still worth writing. We moved in October of 2016. I called about 4 companies and got quotes and Dose was in line with all the quotes we received. One reason we chose to go with them is the customer service we received when I called for quotes, but the other was the reviews. I did all my research and they had great reviews and are in good standing with the BBB etc. We couldn't have been happier! Choosing movers is very stressful, especially when you are trusting the reviews of others. Brandon and Nick were our moving team and they arrived about 25 minutes early. The entire team was extremely professional. We had the house packed and ready to go so they loaded everything and then started breaking down furniture. They were very hard working, at our new house they took the time to walk through room for room and make sure they understood where everything should go. They reassembled all the furniture. They even moved a treadmill into our basement and didn't scuff any of our newly painted walls. They even squished a scorpion for me as I burst into tears. Thank goodness we haven't seen one since. We survived the move (and hopefully will never have to move ever again in this lifetime), it was made so much easier because of Dose. They are worth every single dollar and I'm so happy we found them. I would absolutely without a second of hesitation recommend them for anyone who is moving and wants to hire movers. Marilee was the person I booked with. She was very knowledgeable and professional at setting up my move. She was factual, quick, and did not waste any of my time. I felt confident already about using this company after my conversation with her. My moving team that was led by Victor called me in the morning prior to our planned meeting for our move to let me know he was on his way and would be there soon. Victor and his team arrived at 8:25a.m., five minutes prior to our 8:30 start time. The team started immediately at my promised start time. All three guys worked fast & hard, no messing around period. They loaded my stuff much faster than I anticipated. We met approximately 30 minutes later at my destination, they actually got there just before me. They immediately started unloading and taking my belonging to the 3rd floor apartment which was our destination. Once again they were fast and efficient and finished much quicker than I had expected. Victor immediately got the paperwork and reminded me that I'd payed $100. Deposit and he informed me of my balance left to pay for the move. They're were no hidden fees or extra charges. A very straight forward & honest business transaction. 100% perfect move from start to finish. I can't stress enough how nice & professional victor and his crew were throughout the entire move. I had originally booked with another moving company in the valley but my friend used them the week before me and had a terrible experience so I decided to go with Dose instead. I am so happy I did. From the moment I booked, I knew I made the right decision. I had an appointment for Wednesday April 6, 2017 at 9am. I received a phone call at 825 that morning from Victor confirming my address and letting me know he would be there in approximately 20 minutes. At 10 minutes to 9:00 Victor, Casey, and Johnny showed up ready to work. They worked quickly and carefully, wrapping all of my furniture and treating it like it was their own. All three gentleman were kind and respectful of not only my possessions but of my time. At one point Casey was running when they were unloading the truck and said "I'm just trying to save you some money." There were no hidden fees or unexpected charges, the cost was actually less than I expected. I could not have asked for a better crew to move my stuff. My first time hiring movers. Great experience from start to finish. A real human being answered the phone EVERY time I called the office. Their quote to move my one bedroom, three level apartment/townhome was significantly lower than their competitors. Everyone I interacted with were clear, polite, and professional. On moving day, they kept me updated on when the crew would arrive, and my crew leader Jim called me once he was on his way. The truck was clean, undamaged, and well taken care of. Jim took detailed records of my belongings, including photos of all the furniture. Jim, Eric, and Ricky were exceptional. Professional, efficient, and careful. They wrapped every piece of furniture in blankets, then in plastic. They emptied my apartment in ONE HOUR, when it had taken my friend and nearly 8 hours. Dose was accommodating of my requirements of moving out on a Friday, and moving in on Saturday. They stored my belongings overnight in their secure facility. Move in was a breeze, and they were done in an hour. There was no damage to any of my items, walls, or floors. I have to say, I rarely write a review for vendors we have used but I feel this is one is warranted. We had a move planned with a local Phoenix/Peoria vendor who, because of the state lock down situation for the coronavirus, they had to cancel our move. This was upsetting in all kinds of ways but we totally understood, this was out of their control. At the last minute, I received a call from Marilee Dose. She explained their company had the licensing required to complete our move and we were elated. We worked together and put together the move in a few short days. Marilee sent the team of Ricky(crew leader), Alonzo and Jasper. They were FABULOUS. They arrived on time and did a wonderful job. They treated our belongings as if they were moving their own items and had everything moved assembled and ready for occupancy in a few short hours. They actually ran to and from the truck! As good as they come and as good as it gets. I'm a Realtor in the Valley and I have referred every client needing moving and storage to Dose. I do this because I know that they will do their best to serve my clients at the highest level, and they do! If it turns out they can't, they refer them to another company that is better suited for the clients needs that serves at the level they do. Here's the thing, very few people take care of their employees the way Dose does theirs. The culture of the company is one of the healthiest I've ever seen. So, if the owners take this kind of care of their own employees, how do you think they will handle you? And what kind of care will their employees take when serving you? That's enough for me, but it gets better. The care that the owners have for others is another level many people don't see, because they don't interact with the owners on the other side of the business. Marilee and Patrick Dose are BULLIES who made so many harassing telephone calls to me threatening me with DEATH after I posted a negative review about them that I had to file a police report against them (Scottsdale Police Report No. 19-08030). I had a terrific move by Mike, Donte, and Bryce on 3/19/21. The guys found both my old apartment unit and the new one without any directions from me. They were on time, actually beating me at every step, and I'm not a late person. They were called me ahead of time and gave me a head's up, then beat me to my old apartment. They listened to what I needed and got it done. They also beat me to my new apartment. They were done within 2 hours, with all my possessions inside and undamaged. I was charged what I was quoted with no hidden fees. These guys deserve more than a large tip, they deserve raises. They were professional and kind as well. Just an aside, but when you're a single female and three guys show up in your tiny apartment, it's nice to to get a safe vibe from them. I will definitely use Dose again, as I move yearly in the valley. I hope the guys see this and know how easy they made what is usually a chore. Great job Dose! read more

I wish I could give Dose Moving more stars...they were fabulous! Most of our furniture was recent and I was able to get full value insurance for many of our expensive items. Greg and Ruben were most helpful in the front office. When Elliot and his team (very polite young men named Steven, Chris and Chris) arrived, they immediately went to each item on my insured list and investigated it throughly, noting the condition. They did treat all my items in the same manner, whether specially insured or not---everything was padded and shrink-wrapped and handled very carefully. All my pieces were placed in the locations I wanted in our new residence and even rearranged when I had second thoughts. This is my 15th move and I thought I had seen the best and the worst of this industry but Dose has exceeded all my expectations. We have one move left in the next year and I am so relieved that Dose will be here to help with that! read more

He was so quick to get us our quote and book A time that worked for us as I booked last minute, he totally put my mind at ease. The crew, Ricky, Elliot, Chris, Brian and Damian went over and above to make sure all our household items were packed properly so as not to incur any damage at all. After having moved several times over the years, both long distance and local, and with both national and local movers, I can state without reservation or equivocation that Dose Moving is by far the best of them all. I have had negative experiences with other movers in the past. I came on to Yelp and found excellent reviews for Dose. I am thrilled to be able to add to them. From my first call to the end of moving day, the communication was excellent from Marilee and all of her team. My moving team, Tanner and Dillon called when they were on their way to let me know when they would be arriving. When they arrived they were happy, friendly and efficient. They took great care with my furniture and seemed to really enjoy their job. My storage unit was challenging to reach with their big truck. They skillfully manuevered the truck around very tight corners. I was impressed with their energy and positive attitudes. If i could give them 10 stars, i would. From my first conversation with Marilee to my awesome movers, it was hands down an amazing experience. Most places go through to an automated system or I had to go through a website only to get a quote. It was so nice, personable and reassuring to actually speak to a human. And, Marilee was very professional and sweet. Then we have my movers (Steven and Ruben)...I can't say enough about them. They were so friendly, fast and efficient and I loved that they cared for my belongings as if it were their own. That's all anyone moving can ask for. Again, they were so fast. It was hard to believe they could get so much done. It was like hiring Superman and his twin brother. Dose moving was recommended to me by a coworker who also recently moved and I would in turn, definitely recommend this company! The quote & cost was very fair and did not charge fees for extras, like other movers I researched (such as no fee for stairs, no trip fee), which was great because I moved from a 2-story to a 1-story home - lots of furniture & boxes. Jim and crew (Victor, Manny & John) were awesome! They helped make a difficult situation so much easier. They were on time, courteous, polite, hard working and very careful. They were also very helpful, even to the point of helping to repair an old piece of furniture I had that was falling apart on me (without me even asking). I needed a mover, went on Yelp and saw that Dose had an incredible amount of positive reviews and most importantly , the one bad review was resolved by Dose, satisfactorily. I decided to call Dose and from my initial call to the end of the move I had the most incredible moving experience. They are onto something special here. Ian was in charge of my move, one of the nicest guys ever, his crew were equally as professional. Soooo happy I found Dose Moving on Yelp. After reading some reviews, I decided to go with them, and they exceeded my expectations by far!! They sent the most amazing husband and wife packing duo who were the absolute best! They packed my family's home and took care of our things as if it were their own. They made moving out seem so easy and were also able to help us move into our new place too!
