Food: The meal was very delicious. Everyone within my group ordered steak and it was something that just melted in your mouth. Side orders of mushroom and vegetables were ordered, along with a couple appetizer, and they were all so very well cooked! Cost: The cost of the total meal was pretty expensive. Definitely not a place to come to every day but occasionally, if visiting the resort, I wouldn't mind making a reservation for a nice steak dinner. Environment: Very elegant. The interior decoration was very glamorous and I enjoyed all of the attention to detail within the restaurant. Service: The servers were all very courteous. Our water cups were always refilled, the wine glasses were refilled, and we were always checked up on to see how everything was going. Amazing food and beautiful, modern facility! It looks like a place you would only see on tv or in a magazine! We ate here over our family Christmas holiday celebration while staying at Kahlahari. The rosemary bread and specialty butter was so full of flavor and seasonings, who could have room for an appetizer? They offer many varieties of bread and butter boards, I'd like to come back just to sample those! Kyle, our waiter, was incredibly helpful with selecting menu items and explaining how everything is prepared. We tried lamb AND tuna tartare for our first time as a family, and ALL enjoyed it. So much flavor all around! Kyle was sure to keep the drinks refilled and dishes cleared as we shared multiple entrees together, family-style! The sushi plates were so fancy and tasty-the garnishes alone were scrumptious! We actually found sushi that impressed us MORE than our local "tried and true" favorite family owned restaurant back home, which seems unbelievable...I topped off my meal with Kyle's handmade cappuccino-SIMPLY THE BEST! Recently visited without a reservation and was able to sit and dine at the bar. Lots of space - very friendly and attentive wait staff. I ordered a Green Tea Gimlet and was very pleased. I was offered bread and decided to order the red pepper "butter board" which i've never heard of but it was absolutely delicious, complemented the bread perfectly. We order the Lobster Mac N' Cheese and it's no wonder it's a featured as a Double Cut Favorite. Of course we eventually ordered steak - New York Strip and decided to try a few of the sauces: Madeira Mushroom, Hollandaise and Horseradish Cream. Each sauce complemented the steak. Tip to owner--maybe invest in some fancy serving dishes and a block of dry ice to have it present better. If your serving 1/2-1" then maybe calling yourself a steakhouse shouldn't be permitted. My slab, maybe 3/8"; devoid of savor; some helpful spice and fairly tender.... but no real char. Would I give it a 3? Maybe on a good day. The fillet, though, was a good 1.75 inches, tender, a decent char and graciously spiced. A solid 3.5 and maybe 4. The service was attentive--not overbearing and cheery. I'd give it a good 4. Lighting was terrible and piped in music not noticeable and might have been absent. Compared to other steak houses, and balancing out price and food quality--it's a gentleman's c. I strongly suggest the owner 1. buy thicker and better cuts of meat and 2. Go to Pinterest and bust out some innovative sides. We put the order in on another account and they serviced us. We asked them why they wouldn't service the other account and they told us they didn't think we were adequate customers. My wife treated me to a steak dinner while we were at the Kalahari water park for the past two days. I was really looking forward to this outing but reading the reviews had mixed feelings. But after experiencing the restaurant, here are my main takeaways. Food: For a semi-high end steak restaurant I'd say it's a 3-star. The calamari isn't as amazing as everyone says it is, plus they mix in veggies which isn't too great. Gnocchi wasn't anything special. The broc was a bit over cooked. The prime rib wasn't bad, but nothing I'd ever come back for. Service: 4.5 stars. Our waiter was very attentive, always checking up on us, and was able to change my order mid-stream. Also we ordered a kids meal late in the meal and was able to get that done promptly. Ambiance: This is where I give them 5 stars. The restaurant was very well set up. Since this was a waterpark aimed mainly for family with kids it was really nice to see families with young kids sitting in a nice steak restaurant. If I went to a nice steak restaurant back home you'd have people wondering why you're bringing a 4 yo to a steak restaurant. But no, we had my son litter our table with dinosaur figurines in the midst of wine glasses and steak knives. Overall, it was a good experience. At 5:05PM, one of the people waiting went inside (the door was closed, but unlocked) to ask someone when they would be seating everyone, and they couldn't find a single person. We waited until about 5:10PM and still no one came out to open the doors to let us in, so we decided to leave and eat elsewhere, because we had an appointment at the Kalahari Spa at 6:30 and couldn't be late. It's a pretty overpriced steakhouse that wouldn't make it were it in NYC. In fact, it probably wouldn't make it were it not directly attached to Kalahari, yet it is and here we were. They've certainly spared no expense with the decor. There are multiple gas fireplaces and a sleek modern bar area complete with flat screen TVs, high-top tables, etc. I imagine this place draws a decent crowd after events at the attached convention center. I got a laugh when we arrived on time for our reservation. Like everyone, we were escorted to a waiting area adjacent to the bar. I know our table was ready and they could have brought us right over, as the restaurant wasn't crowded. But they made a show of having us sit in that area for a few minutes so the decor could be seen and noticed. IF WE'RE GOING TO HAVE THIS BEAUTIFUL SPACE, YOU'RE GOING TO SEE IT WEATHER YOU NEED TO OR NOT!!! The food was absolutely fine. The Caesar salad was enough for 2-3 people. They really need to organize the kitchen staff to get food out quicker. We started off our family Valentine's Day dinner decent but then it went downhill. It took an hour and 37min for our food to come. And the majority of our order was vegetables- so it's not like our order was difficult. The waitstaff was nice but they didn't do much to remedy the long wait. Management needs to step up their game. This place wasn't worth the wait - the food was "meh" and by the time it came we were starving so at that point we'd eat anything and say it's great but it wasn't worth the amount of $$ we spent. The place I had a beautiful ambience, dimly lit nice fireplace, clean silverware and China on the tables in a very polite and very friendly waitress. We started off with an Austrian white wine and a bottle of sparkling water as well as fried calamari, chicken fingers for the kids, and a dozen oysters. For dinner we all got prime rib, 7 ounce cuts for the kids and 16 ounce cuts for the adults plus a very nice bottle of Cabernet to wash it all down. All in all a great yet expensive experience , if you were able to I would definitely take the time to visit them. Dinner with tax and tip was right around $450. read more

AMAZING!!! Our second night here my husband, our two small children, and myself made a reservation here. It is 1 of 3 places you must make a reservation to dine here. We were slightly early so we sat in the fireside lounge which was so cozy and inviting. We then were seated at our appropriate time. The place is so beautiful inside. We were sat right near the fireplace. Our server was Joe. He was absolutely awesome! He made great suggestions throughout the evening. He was friendly and made conversation throughout he evening. He was knowledgeable of the menu and what they offered. My husband started with the Dirty Dirty Goose and I had the Bloody Mary (Miller lite chaser). The drinks were amazing! Mine had so much flavor and even a shrimp on the side, which was big! We started with the oysters on the half shell and the beef tartare. The oysters were a great size. They weren't measly little oysters you overpaid for. The beef tartare was full of flavor and it was an excellent portion. The mustard complimented the dish well. We also split the tomato salad, which was an excellent portion for us to split considering everything else we were eating. Very fresh tomatoes and mozzarella! My husband ordered the strip steak and I ordered the 8 oz. filet. I tried his and it was one of the best strip steaks I've ever had. The charred outside with the juicy flavorful inside. There was very little fat on it. My filet was perfectly cooked and it was seasoned well. We also split the lobster Mac n cheese. It was a HUGE side to split. It was excellent! I visit Kalahari often with my family. This week we wanted to eat at Double Cut because I was in the mood for a steak. We entered the place about 8:00 p.m. Our first sign of trouble, was the empty restarting and I mean empty!!!! We found it odd that they asked us if we has a reservation. But the place was a ghost town. Our waitress was very attentive. We ordered prime rib, which was salty and very fatty. More fatty than prime rib we have had at many steak. Houses. The baked potato was 7$ so for the three of us it was 21$!!! And it was small. Wendys gives you a bigger potato for $1.99. Also on our plate was some kind of bread puff. How can any food quality control manager of a steak house allow such a disgusting piece of puff, covered with cheese to compliment a steak!!!! My husband and I eat at many steakhouses everywhere we travel. I don't get this place. In my opinion, it is a C rated establishment, overpriced priced food for no reason, only because they can. The quality of food is so low. Save your money and visit the market place for a good sandwich or all you can eat for $20 per person. The ambiance may be different but the food at all you can eat is superior to Double Cut. I would never eat at this place again and will be telling other families to avoid this establishment. Low quality steaks, at high end prices, trying to swindle you out of your money by providing you a sweet ambiance. I will visit Kalahari again in a few weeks and will not eat at Double Cut. We will find and Outback Steakhouse or go to the all you can eat buffet on the Kalahari premises. If all else fails.... I will eat soup and a sandwich from the market. For Shame... But, based on the previous reviews and coming here, I didn't expect much, knowing that this place is situated in a family resort. We were first greeted and directed towards the lounge area to wait. It was cozy and they had a bonfire going for patrons waiting to be served. It was nice since the entire resort had their a/c on blast. We were then seated after a few minutes. We received 4 warm rolls of bread prior to ordering. It was enjoyable at first, until I realized that they tasted like bread that were warmed up in a microwave rather than the oven. So moving on, we ordered the shrimp cocktails, a dozen market fresh oysters, and jumbo lump crab cakes for apps. Both the shrimp and crab cakes were delicious. The oysters, on the other hand, were mediocre and didn't taste fresh. For our main course, we had the petit ribeye, the salmon steak, and the chicken tenders with cheesy mashed potatoes. Hubby said the ribeye is pretty spot-on, even without the a1 sauce. Baby said the chicken tenders was, of course, yummy as well. My salmon steak was made well-done and something I enjoyed as well. I would say the main courses were delicious, only downside is that they don't come with any side dishes. I must say the service was also slow. It took some time to receive our dishes and the table next to us was also attended and cleaned up after a long while. But overall, the restaurant was inviting and cozy. Surprisingly sophisticated ambiance, service, and execution for a waterpark in Poconos. As a matter of fact, if Double Cut opened in North Jersey it would do well. Hell, the quality is on par with any major metro airport district. Entirely enjoyable and a welcome respite from the buzz of the rest of the waterpark.
