One of the worst experiences at a steakhouse I have ever had. I should have stuck to the yelp reviews that said how bad it was and never went. Not only did I have food poisoning, so did my kids. Mac and cheese for kids was plain not even 2 spoons of cheese melted in it. a steakhouse that's so beautiful and has such a nice menu this was such a big disappointment and I'm disgusted that I paid 320$ for this meal and got food poisoning. Garlic crème mashed potatoes were regular mashed potatoes with a piece of garlic on top Lobster Mac and cheese was a joke. Not one piece of lobster in it. Kids meals were a joke. We ordered two appetizers and our entrees. An hour later, our entrees arrived. What took so long? When we asked the server where the appetizers were, she asked if I wanted to cancel them. I advised her that was not the point. We had not seen her in the past hour and asked why she did not check in on us. I then asked to speak with a manager who apologized, and when I advised, we waited over an hour. He responded, "Let me know if there is something I can do," and walked away. I wanted to leave, but it was 8:30, and the boys were hungry; we stayed. I am not sure why the manager appeared annoyed with us. We have visited this place before, and the food is decent. Cattleman's board was our entree and has a great variety for our size party. Our server was extremely attentive and had us try the steak to make sure it was to our liking, medium. However, it was a bit over done so she politely took it back to have it replaced. The house manager came over and apologized for the inconvenience. He then insistently brought us a couple sushi rolls to snack on, free of charge, while we waited. Second steak came out as ordered and the entire platter was really good. I have been trying to try Double Cut for the longest time and I finally got to try it. It did not disappoint. Our Reservations were for 8pm on a Saturday night. The ambiance was nice, when we walked in there was a piano player who was taking request and he was pretty good. We were seated right away, our waiter greeted us and was very friendly and gave us the menu run down. I liked that our sitting area on one side was cushioned with pillows which made it very comfortable. We looked over the menu and both my husband and I decided on the prime rib and we shared a family style mash potatoes. Before receiving our meals our waiter brought out a bread loaf that had Asiago cheese in it and a butter. I really enjoyed that it was different and very good. Our meals then came out and the steaks were cooked perfectly. We ordered a Crème Brûlée for desert and that was a good choice. Lucky for us we got amazing service, and incredible food cooked fresh and hot. The complementary bread that came with the table was actually really amazing and homemade in the house with some of the freshest butter I've ever had in my life, amazing for a steakhouse. I don't eat red meat or seafood but came here with my carnivore husband. There were literally two non meat entrees: a weird pasta dish and rosemary garlic chicken. I hate rosemary to my core but when I tried to order without I was told it's premarinated with rosemary and the dish can't be prepared without it. I spent the weekend at Kalahari resort, and I had a great time. I went with another adult, and Double Cut Steak House was a pleasant surprise. After hearing excited, happy, and screaming kids all day, it was nice to be in an adult area. The ambiance set the tone. There was lovely live piano music, a beautiful fireplace, and cozy seating. I'm not much of a steak eater so I opted for the lobster Mac and scallops. My friend got the stuffed shrimp and Brussel sprouts. We both had Raspberry wisp as out cocktail. The scallops were the star of the show. I didn't even touch the sauce because the scallops were so buttery delicious. The next highlight was the cocktail. Kudos to the person that made our drinks. This is a fantastic steakhouse. The hanging bacon was amazing! Our steak was delicious and prepared as order. The ambiance is very nice and the dessert was top notch. Try the strawberry cheesecake, so creamy with an amazing strawberry sauce. There was also plenty to walk around and explore to keep my 2 year old busy while we took turns with him (arcade.) Came here with my family for the first time and we will never come back. The server was super nice but..... the most important part of the meal (meat) was over cooked. My husband and I always get medium rare but it was cooked medium well, it very dry. We told the manager and she asked if she could order another one but we didn't have time and we already waited 30 minutes for the food. I arrive for my 11pm reservation and they tell me the kitchen is closed an unfortunately they cannot do anything about it. Visiting PA for my son's birthday weekend, also Valentine's Day weekend. This was one of the only places that had reservations left on the Wednesday before, and now I can say was I lucky to snag these reservations, although it was at 9:15 PM. The restaurant sent a text message to inform me my table was ready. In which you can respond to with a 1 for on your way or a 9 to cancel. Upon entering the restaurant, you're greeted for check in and then taken to your table. The menus were paper so they can just be thrown away I assume. The atmosphere and ambiance is very nice, low lighting and quiet. In my opinion it could have been a little more socially distanced as we were sitting side by side instead of tables being skipped. However, the restaurant was not crowded at all. So I imagine they may be limiting capacity. Our waiter was Kyle and he was great. He answered all questions and made great menu suggestions. I ordered a glass of wine and had water. Also the esquire signature cocktail was ordered and it was nice and strong. Not sure who the bartender was but they did a good job making sure you got your money's worth for a good drink. Meals ordered were the ribeye, crab stuffed shrimp scampi, lobster Mac, and kid burger with corn. Starting with the ribeye, it was perfectly cooked. It looked tender on the plate and upon biting into it, it was soo flavorful, no steak sauce was needed at all. The crab stuffed shrimp was 5 tiger shrimp with crab balls on top. The crab balls were made with jumbo lump crab meat, no filler! They were a decent size and tasted great, I also felt full. The kids burger and corn was pretty standard, not the rave. The lobster Mac unfortunately was a downfall for me esp since it's labeled as a favorite menu item. There was plenary of lobster, but the Mac lacked flavor. It didn't appear to have any seasoning on it, not even pepper. So that was disappointing. I think with the right seasoning it could have been a hit. Overall, this was a pleasant dinner experience and I would return. I was skeptical because the reviews are very mixed. Some extremely poor and others kind of hit or miss. My wife and I went to Double Cut for our anniversary. We've been looking for a new place up here in the Poconos for special occasions. We were greeted by a nice woman who was very pleasant and took us to a table by the fireplace. We sat and almost immediately we were disappointed to hear a couple who were boisterous and then they both got on speakerphone with the mother of one of them. Couldn't hear each other over the noise. We asked to be moved and about 5 minutes later our waitress came and moved us into a booth. We ordered a wedge salad and prime rib (only avail on Sat btw) for me and Lobster Bisque and Filet with crab Oscar for my wife. The salad was very good. A full head of lettuce cut in half with the center "filled" with blue cheese crumbles and dressing and two pieces of bacon one whole. My wife's bisque was great with three pieces of lobster, one she had to cut up since it was so big (claw meat). She loved it. I had iced tea as my drink while my wife had two glasses of the one Merlot they had by the glass which she said was very good. Dinner came while we were half way through our soup and salad. The young lady who brought it saw it was too soon and said she would take it back to the kitchen and bring it back in 10 minutes. We fished the salad and soup, the dishes cleared and dinner came about 5 minutes later. I was worried the steaks would now be overdone or the sauces congealed but that wasn't the case. We ordered creamed spinach and mushrooms. The spinach was good. They brought mashed instead of mushrooms. By the time the mushrooms arrived we were basically done and sent them back. About mid way through our entree they seated a family of 5 in the booth next to us. They were loud and a bit vulgar. The wife said she was a little cold and the man got up and took off his shirt and gave it to her. He did have an undershirt on so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. This was as wee we're leaving which we were doing because of the noise. So in the end we paid high end steak house prices (bill was about $210) with nice ambience but brought down by diner patrons. Our waiter, Shawn was nice helped explain a few things on the menu so we ended up ordering drinks and appetizers. THE DRINKS ARE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. 2 of the drinks we ordered came in some smoking case which we thought was cool but the drinks tasted awful. We ordered a charred grapefruit smash, terrible. We asked for simple syrup to hopefully make the drink taste better but that was never brought to us. After waiting for 20 minutes someone finally came over to the table after we flagged them down and we were finally able to ask for another drink. The worst part is....THE NEW DRINK WAS WORSE THAN THE FIRST DRINK !!!! All the other drinks lacked flavor, lacked alcohol and honestly taste nothing like how they were described on the menu. So after receiving drinks we got our appetizers: the hanging bacon, tuna tartare and the calamari. The hanging bacon was super sweet, a nice thick cut but just not worth it. Tuna tartare was mid, and the calamari was surprisingly good and not over cooked. Unsatisfied after eating the apps we patiently waited for Our entree which took another 25 MINUTES ! When we asked another waiter for our entreee they said they were waiting for the chicken, and honestly they could've kept the chicken if we knew it would take so long to bring out the rest of the food. We should've left after eating the appetizers. 4/6 of us ordered the Ribeye, and the steak was rubbery, cooked terribly and flavorless. We also ordered the king crab legs which were overcooked and the chicken which was under seasoned. The mashed potatoes were good, the brussel sprouts were not. Our waiter Shawn was nice but just not attentive, he should've informed us that our entrees would be taking longer than usual but instead he didn't even check on us the whole 25 minutes we were waiting. We made a reservation in advance to our hotel stay and we were looking forward to dinner here. Unfortunately it was simply not good. Our server was fantastic!!!! Nothing was her fault. Unfortunately my lobster bisque was watery and the bone in ribeye was far below average. My scallops were served ice cold before we finished our appetizers. This was entirely the managers fault. The manager (smh) served our entrees seeing our apps on the table. And she took or apps before we were finished! I had to ask for our apps back and for them to return our food to the kitchen. When I asked for a re-fire, my request was ignored by the manager! Finally I sent my scallops back, but the manager would not re-fire the steak. The rib eye was of the lowest quality. We make better steaks at home. It was a 20oz bone-in ribeye and it was thin and fatty. The scallops came back warm, but the meal was ruined by that time. To top it off there was a giant cob web hanging in the corner by our table (see pic). Do not eat here! We wasted so much money in a fine dining meal that was anything but fine! Our steaks came prepared as ordered, and the quick smoked salmon was served with an interesting flair. There is a kids' menu with some of the usual trappings. The cocktail and wine lists are nicely curated. Try the Smoked Old Fashioned for some more service flair. And as far as service goes, everyone from the front door to the table was very personable and helpful. If you can swing the high end resort pricing, then give Double Cut a look. read more

Double Cut is the signature dining establishment at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos and you can tell that they spared no expense in its design and decor. The bar, dining area and restaurant as a whole is modern and looks like a location you would find in any major metropolitan area - not in the middle of the Pocono Mountains. Menu here is standard steakhouse fare - steaks, chops, your standard sides. We got the tomahawk steak (cooked well but a tad under seasoned), spinach (excellent), lobster mac n cheese (tasty with a large piece of lobster meat), broccoli (boiled so meh) and a few others that were just so-so. In general, the steak here was just so-so and they charge NYC prices so I wasn't that impressed. Service here was excellent. Prices were pricey for the area but I can see how they feel the amount they charge is justified. Food was just average IMO so that's why it's not higher on my list. Still it's a pretty good option if you don't want to leave Kalahari and get a meal that's not mass produced buffet fare. read more

Flawless. After the mayhem of waterpark lines (and thousands of stairs walked to get to said rides) and the volume at the arcade and having to weave in and out of hundreds of people no matter where you went... it was nice to break out the button-down shirt, pants (and a belt!) and to dine in style. Three of us ordered the filet mignon (medium) and while there was a bit of Goldilocks going on (one was under, one was over and one - mine! - was just right) - the steak was just dynamite. Tender and beautifully seasoned - it would be a crime for anyone using one of their additional sauces or creams to mask the flavor. (Second kid went with their tacos and swore they were the best he ever had.) The garlic mashed potatoes - off the charts. The baked potato - possibly the largest Idaho spud I ever saw, and also delicious. Wine selection looked good and we went with a reasonably priced red that was pretty decent. Staff - couldn't have been any nicer, professional and on top of things. Dessert menu - surprisingly light on the actual desserts but packed with ports and bourbons and all sorts of things my 10-year-olds aren't allowed to indulge in. Classy (even if that piano at the front is really a keyboard in disguise!) and quiet and much larger on the inside that you might expect.
