We stopped in after a Can Am ride in the area and it didn't disappoint. Total hole in the wall, neighborhood watering hole vibe. Service was fast and friendly. Food was delicious. It was fun reading the walls of dollar bills.

If you're ever in Payson AZ, you don't want to miss this out in the nowhere bar. Their food was great. The friendly bar host was amazing. Too bad I don't live here or else I will be a regular customer.

Hands down one of the best spots in payson. Had a wonderful experience during our over night trip at Christopher creek. The service and food were outstanding! Being that it's off season, the bartender was also the server and the cook! She was on top of everything and we never had to wait for drinks or anything. Pizza was phenomenal. Sarah, thank you for the great conversation and for making us feel like regulars. Definitely will be a mandatory stop for us every time we are in the area.

Fun hidden forest gem! Ask for off menu items. On the way to pinetop and will definitely stop here again.

Wow! This place is cool! We went for lunch off the beaten path with an airstream. Really glad we did. The bar however, has limited food menu on the weekdays. Pizza was good, but the onion rings were burnt. Long sleeve T-shirts I thought were way over priced $25. Melodi was very nice and great bartender answering all of our tourist questions. We will definitely be back! Hoping you will have RV parking if we come back on a weekend.

Ordered takeout and unfortunately after returning to our hotel we realized a large portion of our…read moreorder was incorrect. We ordered a double smash burger with bacon (an extra $2 charge) along with tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. The burger arrived with no bacon and none of the listed veggies. We also ordered a triple smash burger with cheddar cheese and tomatoes, lettuce, and onion -- again, none of the veggies were included. We also ordered a mashed potato bowl with chicken, corn, and brown gravy, but there was no brown gravy in it at all. Even though a lot of our order was missing, I will say the food itself still tasted good. The biggest issue, however, was the customer service. The young girl working there, who looked to be around 16 years old, was extremely rude and snotty. When I asked for plastic utensils, she replied, "We do not have any." I asked how we were supposed to eat mashed potatoes and gravy without utensils, and she shrugged and said, "Ma'am, we are a bar, we do not have it." I responded that I've ordered takeout from many bars before and they always provide plastic utensils. She then sarcastically replied, "Good for you, have a nice day." I tried speaking with who I believed was the manager (he nodded when I asked if he was), and while I was explaining the issue, the young employee continued interrupting and talking over me. Another waitress overheard the conversation and quickly returned with plastic utensils, proving they did in fact have them available. The employee then changed her story, saying she "didn't know" if they had utensils and claimed she was super sweet to me(not rude). There is no reason an employee should be speaking to customers this way. She clearly needs additional customer service training before handling customer interactions on her own.

The location was really nice and open with a patio, and the inside was spacious without the tables being packed together. Plenty of room to sit back and actually enjoy your meal. I went with the ribs, and they were smoked just right--exactly how I like them. Honestly, they didn't even need BBQ sauce. I ate some with just the rub and some with sauce, and both ways were delicious. The mashed potatoes were so good I should've ordered more. The mac and cheese wasn't overly creamy, which was perfect for me, and I can't forget the Caesar salad. Really good Caesar salad, and one thing I always appreciate--serve it on a cold plate. This one came out nice and cold and was super fresh. Overall, really good BBQ, great sides, and a nice comfortable location. Definitely worth the stop if you're in Payson.

Hello Everyone: This review is for Rim Country BBQ and Wood Fired Pizzas in Payson, AZ…read more This was our first time at this restaurant. We would definitely come back again. Because we could not decide what to order, we got the sampler plate which had meats, sides, and dipping sauces. The photos show you the "before" and "after" of our meal! Bathrooms are clean. We had no problem finding off-street parking. Analysis of experience: This plate is enough for two people. You get: two ribs, two 1/2 pieces of sausage, a scoop of pulled pork (about 1/3 to 1/2 cup), two thin slices of brisket and some sliced smoked turkey breast. Also included is a sampler container of their dipping sauces to enjoy with your meat. Sides included: baked beans, corn, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, potato salad and mac & cheese. Our meat favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork. This is why: I first tried a bit of each meat with no sauce. I don't want to review sauces and sauces can cover up/mask many issues just like a coat of paint on a wall. Therefore, I started with meat (no sauce) tastings, then moved to the meat and sauce tasting. Ribs: The rib meat easily cut off the bone and was tender. There was not a lot of meat, the bones were pretty big as you can see, but what meat there was had a nice flavor and was tender. Pulled Pork: The pulled pork was some of the most tender I have experienced. This meat went well with ALL the dipping sauces served to us. I did not get a lot of smoke flavor to it, the flavor was subtle, but that allowed for the sauces to shine a little bit. Brisket: The brisket was tender, but I felt the fat line on the top of the brisket was still too intact for me (not rendered enough so the fat juices get down into the meat) and I thought the brisket was a tad dry. Turkey: The turkey breast had a nice flavor, but again, it was very subtle. This meat was also a tad dry, not bad with sauce on it, but could have been a little juicier. That was perhaps my least favorite because it was on the dry side. Sausage: The sausage was 1/2 of a sausage cut in 1/2 again as you can see in the photo. This was a spicy sausage with a charred cut side, very nice. The char on the sausage added a nice crunch to each bite. My husband and I both agreed our favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork and should we return, these two meats would be on our radar. Regarding the sides, here is my review: The yellow corn was average - nothing special. The mashed potatoes were average - nothing special. Mac & Cheese - average, nothing special. The sauce on this item was too runny for us. The sauce wound up against other items on the plate. The cole slaw was nice, fresh tasting, but I think it needed a dash of fennel. The coleslaw and the potato salad (items which are served cold) were co-mingled on the plate with all the hot items. I would have preferred them being served inside a small bowl or container on the serving platter to keep them cold. The potato salad was very good - I would definitely order that again. The beans were excellent - I would definitely order those again. This menu item is also served with a piece of garlic bread which was very good - it had melted butter on it and tasted like garlic! I am giving this 5 Stars even with some short falls regarding flavor and or juiciness because of the environment, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, available to find parking without driving around, and menu choices. The menu is large, enough choices for everyone to get something. If we are back in the area, we will try one of their pizzas. Hannah was our server and she did a nice job checking on us since she knew it was our first time there. Very pleasant, nice smile, and good with her customers. Enjoy!

We were seated quickly and started deciding what we were going to order; drinks came fairly quickly, my Moscow Mule was good and gingery, the others had the brewery's own ale beer. Our server Americus was absolutely wonderful: as usual I explained my severe allergy to peppers in general and specifically any type of chile. She went inside to consult their "allergy" food list and came back with what I could safely eat. She's the only person ever, here in AZ, to have gone and double-checked the various dishes to keep me safe. Thank you so much Americus :)) We shared the fried green beans - deliciously crispy :) - with the wasabi mayonnaise dip for them; also had the onion rings that were nice and crispy, and although tempting to get a second order of appetizers ....we decided to go on to the mains. Mine was the Patty Melt on rye and fries, cooked medium rare as I like it, with onions on the side, the other orders were the Whisky Bacon burger that was looking very good as well, and another diner had a big salad - not sure which TBH because I was busy eating ...oops! The evening was nice and the patio had a few dogs: Yes, it is dog friendly !! We left sated, with replenished growlers, and looking forward to next time.

We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice but ended up moving inside because of all the mosquitos. During our time outside, we did see elk across the street and our waitress said that sometimes they come right up to the patio fence. Super cool. We ordered a flight of beer, coconut shrimp and the August food special : Quesabirrias. The beer was decent and both food items were good. Jaime was our waitress and was very nice and helpful. They usually have live music on the weekends and make homemade cobbler everyday which I really wanted to try but was to full.
