Ok so our friends found this funky little dive bar so we gave it a shot. They had pool tables so we were looking forward to just drinking and shooting some pool. Walked in and man that hallway ceiling is LOW haha. Bar is divey and looks geared towards the college crowd. Ordered a Moscow Mule and it was good....not great but it was good. Wanted to order another and dammit he said he was out of ginger beer. Huh? How does a bar run out of Ginger Beer. Oh well I had a beer instead and it was well received. We decided to order opinion rings and they were hot, crispy and tatsty.....in a dive bar sort of way. We played pool.....drank.....laughed and had fun. This place did the trick for a quick night cap. The only thing even "okay" was the service. I would give it an A for service, a C for the food and an F- for anything related to pool:billiards (which is why I went!). The have a "short table" stiffed between tables. You can only get a full shot from the ends! Do NOT go if you are looking for a place to play pool! The burger was okay and I can't blame them for the beer. I tried a heff...it was terrible, but that's just my tastes I'm sure (preferring a good Belgium!). My favorite restaurant just became my worst Restaurant experience because of the horrible waitress who brought us a salt shaker with the lid not on. When my husband put a splash of salt on his food the entire shaker dumped on his food. When we called the waitress over, she laughed and blamed him he should have not made that mistake. He did the best he could by getting most of it off, but could only eat 2-3 bites of a $20 burger. No apology no making things right. When I asked her if she could do something about it, she said No, I don't have Authority to remove it or bring a new one. No apology. Then she tried to say he ate more than half. I told her BS, then she started raising her voice at me that it wasn't her fault she didn't even fill the salt shakers up. I told her but you brought it to him like that and then laughed. I told her I wanted her manager name and she then said I'll take it off and ran off to the back and cried. We had to go tell her we needed our check back so we could leave. nice little place. good for beer. came in with my family for a bite to eat and it was pretty chill. lots of TVs with baseball on, a large bar with lots of people sitting there. booths along the wall. it's a little weird of an entrance because you have to go down this hallway to get to it but it's a good dive type atmosphere. i got some wine- they only had boxed wine. it's not tasty. if you're a beer person you'll be happy though! the wine is meh. they give you menus with markers and you mark what you want. i had a turkey wrap with provolone and all the fixings. it came with some of the best fries i have ever had! they were fresh not frozen. the wrap itself was delicious too- everything tasted very fresh. i liked this place and it's good for a game and a beer and a bite to eat. if that's what you're looking for you found it! read more

This is one of those places where I wish there were 2 categories to rate. If you're downtown and want to grab a beer, they have a good selection and the service was awesome. Super nice! divey setting which I don't mind. Classic Rock. However - The food here was awful. It was the epitome of Schwan man delivery greasy, low flavor, high preservative content, nondescript and just horrible food. I hate to go on and on but I seriously have not had anything as bad as what we ate. We split three appetizers. Jalapeño poppers, nachos and habanero hot wings. The wings were by far the best and they do brag that it is local organic chicken. They were very small so maybe that does come from them not being pumped up with a lot of hormones and etc. and these were *OK*. But the poppers were MEH And the nachos were horrible. I wish the owners would read these reviews because most of them have one thing in common: worst service in Boise. This is a crime because the burgers are so amazing (except for the time I waited two hours for my food and it came back cold and burnt--let's try to forget about that), and the fries are exceptional. Maybe the servers have to pool their tips? Maybe they don't get tips? It is clear that they don't care or know what they are doing and I am usually pretty lenient towards waitstaff since I have worked in the food service industry all my life. It enrages me. I come in every week and they have no idea who I am. I always tip well despite the obvious lack of concern. Sometimes I ask for a menu and I don't get one. Sometimes the server picks one person at random at my table and only asks for their drink order. Sometimes no one shows up at all while the waitstaff (at least, I think that is their job) stands in the corner and stares blankly into the distance. Owners, please train your staff. I was told by some foodie friends that this was the place to get a burger in Boise. Although the service was dreadful, the burger and fries were the best! I ordered a beer and wings upon sitting down and the was told to write it on the sheet, staff "found" elk after the server told us they didn't have any, staff lost 1 of the 4 order forms and argued with us that she never got it, didn't get my beer ordered until after the lost order debacle, didn't get my wings....staff made a weird Jew joke, damn near died of thirst BUT, it was the best burger I've had in years. I would go back for the food, my wife puts more emphasis on the whole experience and probably won't. Up the service game guys, you have potential! Since Fork gave up, this is (in my opinion) the best burger downtown which in turn is slowly served to you by the worst wait-staff in the Boise area. I often wonder if the girls working there, remember they actually work there. There are times they don't even make eye contact with you until you ask for help. If the owner is hiring specific busty women to get lusty guys in there to eat, he's going to forego the people who don't want to take 90 minutes to get a burger and beer. I've eaten there for at least 5 lunches and I've left angry over our server each time(Today she argued with us about when we ordered our burger that took over 30 minutes to come out yet only 3 people were eating lunch at the time). If they can actually hire people who want to serve you, this could quickly turn into one of my favorite spots. But... if you don't care about service and want an awesome burger and some great beer. I almost hate to write this review because I want to keep this place to myself! We go after work for happy hour and to watch games a lot. Their burgers are amazing!!! I ordered one with sautéed mushrooms onions pepperoncinis and blue cheese. The owner came out and asked it I wanted buffalo sauce mixed in the meat because it would go well. So glad I took his recommendation because it was the best burger I have ever had!!! Their egg rolls are also amazing. Not to mention their great selection of local beers. Went there to watch the MLS Cup game, and was very disappointed in the service. The female waitresses seemed like they'd rather talk and hang with customers they knew rather than refill the empty beer glasses. I'm pretty sure that both of them were either drunk or high too. Then we see kids hanging out in the kitchen and even bringing people food and drinks. Smaller bar in the downtown area. Came on a night where there weren't a whole lot of customers, so there was plenty of seating at tables and the bar. Clean. Full bar and a rotating beer list. I was promptly served and given a menu. I got my drink pretty fast, though they don't give you water unless you ask for it. The menu is cool, you select your food and then check off the meats, cheeses, condiments, breads, etc. I had a kobe beef burger with fries. The meal was very good. The burger was moist, they got all the toppings right, the bread was good and held up really well. The fries were hand-cut and came out hot, no ketchup unless you ask for it. The servers/bartender checked on me regularly. The price was higher because I chose the kobe beef option, but it didn't seem completely out of the ballpark expensive. Three stars for the $2 beers on Tuesdays. Servers will get you a beer and a check, but you won't see them much in between. Food is good, but usually any adjustments you request get partially or completely overlooked. Go on a Tuesday, it's easier to overlook the flaws when your beer is so cheep. Oh my gosh, where to start with this review?! We stopped in here last Saturday for some snacks and beer. The place was packed so I had high hopes. That was my first mistake! We sat at the smaller bar near the entrance. We sat for a good 10 or 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. I just figured because it was so busy they were a little overwhelmed. Then the guy sitting next me said the service was terrrible and you just had to flag the server down. So when she came back to fill another order at the bar, I did just that. My husband and I both ordered IPA's that were on tap. Sadly they were luke warm in temperature and had a weird metal taste. So gross! Against our better judgement we went ahead and ordered some food. We had the fried jalapeño bombs thinking they would be pretty hard to mess up. We were wrong again! They were full of liquid in the middle and colder than our beers! My friend and I come here a lot because there is almost always a wait at our favorite sushi place and it's the only place close so we grab a drink while we wait. So I'm here semi frequently (and over a very long span of time) but definitely not by choice. I've never eaten there, so this is based on drinks and service. I have literally never left happy. One time I ordered a double. I watched the lady pour it and measure one jigger and hand it to me calling it a double. I told her I ordered a double and she argued with me saying it was one. I told her I watched her make it and she took the drink and squirted what looked like water into it from her gun. When I called her on it, she said they keep their vodka in a gun. Do they think I'm that stupid?? I ordered a double again recently, I watched her pour it and this time, she used the big side of the jigger and the small side, so still not a full double, and she charged me TWELVE DOLLARS. For a shitty well at a shitty bar. Then we were in there again this last week. We sat down, the waitress nodded in our direction, but never came over and we sat there for TWENTY FOUR minutes. Not a single waitress at our table once. They served tables all around us but never even stopped by ours once. They were barely even busy. Then we got a call from the restaurant and just had to leave. Almost a half hour is plenty for a drink anywhere else but this place just can't seem to get it together. Rude waitresses/bartenders, little to no customer service, and weak less-than-mediocre drinks. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else. read more
