We live in Kentucky and went there with family who live in Boise. All of us are Soccer fans and indeed this is the place to come to watch a match in Boise. The food was outstanding, I had a Elk Burger with fries and a cold beer and all were great. We went there three times to view World Cup Matches during our visit, with the pub almost like attending the Brazil vs. Belgium match in person with all the Brazilian fans in attendance. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel like a regular, even if you only come once every few months. I was in Boise for work and decided to walk over to have a bite & a drink. My first time visiting was Fantastic! Gavin (bartender) was great- he was personable, extremely friendly and just a great guy! The food was great, and I felt like I was at home. My Co- Worker and I enjoyed it so much we decided to visit one more time before heading back to Atlanta.... Again, it was fantastic! Gavin was on his way out but he was very friendly , remembered me and took the time to talk with me a few minutes before heading out. Nicolette was bartending and she was just as amazing as Gavin, she was very attentive and friendly! This place is a MUST visit if you're in Boise. The food, drinks, friendliness and above all- the respect to Veterans and Active Duty Military makes it a place you HAVE to visit! Nice job gentlemen. Great story line behind the ownership. Great selection of whiskey. Can't wait to try the food sometime. Service was great! Good burger a bit high on the cost. The service was horrible, I don't care how good your food is if you get horrible service like we did I have no reason to return or recommend. Went w/another couple we split our burgers w/our gf's & ordered apps. My friend's burger came out first, waitress blamed the kitchen for missing the apps when we asked about them. The apps came out a few minutes later & I still had no burger. When I asked about my burger I got attitude from the server that my burger was coming. Came in and ordered bloody Mary's, also ordered food and appetizers. For the drinks pretty quickly. After 35 minutes my entree had still not arrived. So I prepared to leave to go to another place where when they come up with a "good idea" for ordering, can at least bring me my food. The service is horrible. If you aren't at the bar ordering drinks, they don't care about you. Waited entirely to long to place our order, then waited longer for our food. My burger was still raw in the middle and when I say raw, I mean it was cold. My husband ordered an IPA and got a coffee stout. We didn't even get napkins!! Worst service ever. Waitress paid more attention to the table with more people than us. We all got our food at different times and it was mediocre at best. Then to top it off, she never came back to check on us and see how our food was and if we needed refills, then when we got the check, she tried to charge us more than what our bill should have been. This is a great great place, love the bar, love the food (seriously one of the best burgers I've ever had) and it's the place to watch larger sporting events (mainly futball, "soccer") in Boise. This being said it is a bar so you would think drinks would never be empty, they would need your table, and your server would be diligent about bringing refills of alcohol and water. Unfortunately, this is only the case 1/10 times I've been here. I so want to love this bar, because it has such great atmosphere. But the it is a rare occasion that you get good service, and I don't think I'm that demand of my server/staff/help. I think the service industry is hard work, and very much appreciate every person who has a part. But when your two wait staff for the afternoon spends more time flirting with guests and the other picks up slack that's an error in scheduling and staff. Make an effort to be welcoming, bring rounds of drinks, ask about the food you serve, and check up as best you can. People understand being understaffed and busy, they will wait for drinks and food orders when you have the amount of people they did. But this place would make more than enough in tips to support double or triple the staff working on a given busy day. But I would just love to see more effort given by specific staff members or more staff in general for this up and coming pub. I know the Boise area has some wonderful people that would love to help out and work as even a cocktail server to help refill drinks. I've waited up to an hour and half for a refill that never came. In all, wonderful food, semi worth the wait. I love the message and the owners of the place, and when they have good staff on its an awesome place to drop by. But please for the sake of your becoming regular customers hire more staff, and have honest conversations about patronage with your current girls who would make triple the tips if they served everyone instead of just the hunky men who belly up to the bar. read more

Super service, super food. The hamburgers were mind, mouth, and eye blowing!! You get to choose the meat, bun, and fixings so truly have it your way. The burgers are huge and come with a side. Firstly, I will preface my review that the food was excellent! The service was horrible. We sat down, ordered our food, then 20 minutes later, only after asking, we finally got our waters. Food arrived 34 minutes after ordering. Our group of six was there on our lunch break so when our food finally arrived, we had to ask them for to-go containers. Had they come and checked on us for refills or to let us know there was a delay-we would have saved them the effort of plating our food and had them put it in boxes right away. After we got our waters, we didn't get checked on until the food came. VERY disappointing service. When our waitress finally brought our food, she never apologized or explained the delay. She took our payments and that was it. Not a pleasant luncheon by any means. Was sad to have to eat my sandwich and cold fries back at my desk. read more

Really depends on who's working... Pretty good food. The service is probably the worst service you can ever imagine. The people that work there pretend they don't. This one time I went and got a beer with a friend, charged me for my friends beer when we said we were on separate checks, told me I bought it for him, then charged him for the same beer. This is the bar I head to if there's a sports game on I'd like to watch. I've had no problem getting a nice seat at the bar by myself. The service is very friendly although it can get busy for just having one person serving and bartending for the entire place. I haven't tried the food although they have a fantastic beer and liquor selection. The owner is a local vet who opened this pub on his return to the states. You might find him running around in the back helping out, or sitting at the bar with friends and customers. read more

They are busy with the counter crowd and can't get around much. Even if there were more servers the layout is not good for efficient movement of more than 4 at best. I ordered the wings and fries. The fries were undercooked and soggy and the oil used was old and left residue on the fries. The wings had no seasoning. I was charged for four drinks and only had two. My policy is never to return items to the kitchen due to personal reasons. I was charged $8 for a shot of scotch. I have been meaning to stop into this place for a while and see what it is about. I am a retired AF enlisted guy and was welcomed right away by the staff. The two owners circulated among the guests and talked with them while the other staff served up meals and a great selection of beer on tap. Hungry? Try one of their burgers made to order. You get a laminated sheet with all the fixens written on them, choose beef or Angus then mark your toppings with a marker and give it to the staff. I like mine with grilled jalapeno peppers and extra bacon. Good luck trying get your teeth around it when it arrives. I had to smash it down and cut it in half to eat it. I have met a mix of current and former military here. As for age range, the place I observed young college folks to older couples hanging out and chatting. I have come back a few times and now this place has become my regular hang out. There is never a rush here and I am free to stay as long as I please. I spent about 16 bucks tonight on a monster burger, a whole plate of fries, 2 beers and a pop to go with dinner while I watched the local BSU game on the big tv screens above the bar and over each booth table. Over all: It is like Bill said, a good place to stop in for a drink and some food. If you're looking for a loud party-on lots of glitter place, this is not your style.
