Been wanting to try this spot for a while! I actually came a few times in the summer and they had closed early, so I'm happy school (Emory) is back in session, and theyre back to their normal hours. The food was delish! The bar/ drinks are even better. I felt like everything was a good value. For me, the starters were a high light. Arancini was the best I've ever had at a restaurant! I normally don't order it, but I'm SO glad we got it! Totally worth it! I KILL for Artichokes anywhere I can get them; these are prepared as halved hearts (larger than a canned artichoke heart, but smaller than a full artichoke, halved): with amazing and refreshing flavors that combine the whipped ricotta, seamlessly. Warning: at first taste, the cauliflower was delicious and we thought it would steal the show as the BEST dish of the night! But it does have a fishy/ sardine-y after-taste: probably something written in plain sight on the menu, that we just missed! Our service was the best part. We had so many questions and she knowledgeably and patiently served us, educating us on broader knowledge about pizza and even beverage/ alcohol histories! I'm on the fence about this restaurant. The calamari and shrimp appetizer lacked flavor ( and we try it at every restaurant we visit that serves it) and the breading did not stay on. My husband said the shrimp breading was flavorful ( just wouldn't stay on), It was also really greasy suggesting the oil was not hot enough. That is only my opinion( because I fry calamari at least once a week at home, when we do not go out). Hubby ordered the meatballs and garlic bread ( which is actually deep fried pizza dough) so, it's hard outside but soft inside filled with garlic butter and cheese. He said it was too difficult to eat with utensils , which is what you will need, unless you pick up whole roll and bite into it. He liked the meatballs. Nothing special. My chicken dish, which I can't remember the name , but pictured, was enough to feed two or three people. It was huge. After a bite or two, it was packed up. So make sure you order only one of those. I ate it the next day for lunch and then dinner.. Three meals for the price of one. The sauce was good and it was really cheesy and breaded. The pasta was more than al dente but the reheat fixed that. Our waitress was nice. We probably will not return as this was our restaurant choice this month based off recommendations. Very kid friendly so if you want a more adult atmosphere, this is not the place. We have definitely had better. It seems like a very nice family friendly establishment but not somewhere I would go on a date night. I used to love double zero pizza, but the last 2 times I've gotten pizza, I've noticed the crust is not light and airy as it used to be, It seems denser and heavier. Maybe they're rushing the dough hydration or fermentation or having issues with the oven temperature, I'm disappointed with the change, also the sauce did not taste as fresh as it used to be. Maybe a different chef? Not sure but I hope they can fix it, I haven't tried the pasta that used to be one of the best in town, hopefully that hasn't changed. Dinner time review: The ambiance here is amazing! It's not too bright, the music isn't too loud, you don't feel like you are sitting on top of anyone. The service is spot on! You are greeted upon entering, the staff is attentive to your needs, make recommendations, open to feedback, very conversational. The drinks are delish from the red wine by the glass list, to the recommended cocktails, to even the mocktails. Starting with appetizers: the garlic knot is literally a giant knot with a huge glob of garlic butter on top. While I admire the concept, it is messy to eat and not necessarily with the price. The Fritto Misto is super flavorful pieces of calamari, zucchini, bell pepper, and shrimp. The shrimp are huge. The two dipping sauces complement it well. For entrees, the chicken parm is the best deal with the giant piece of chicken and the hem lettuce salad. The only thing we did o to ow what that the red sauce would be spicy and the breading would be salty. This doesn't come with any pasta either. The portion is huge though. The eggplant parm is 3 very thick circular slices of eggplant breaded and cover with sauce and cheese. It was just ok. The eggplant was not the style I like and it was too salty. I ordered a side of pasta and would have preferred something beside spaghetti but it was the only style offered. For the price, I would skip this. The fungi tortilini stole the show and they were overfilled with this decadent filling of mushroom and cheese. Dinner for 3 came out to $145 before tip. It was ok. I think that a little less salt and spice would have made it better. We will have to try the pizza sometime. read more

I've been to Double Zero a couple of times, and each time I enjoyed my experience there! The most recent visit, I had the Funghi Tortelloni which was very filling, rich, and delicious. We also ordered the salmon, which was cooked really well. I've also been to Double Zero for Valentine's Day and tried their prix fixe menu which was very tasty and nicely thought out for us to enjoy the experience. The service has been great every visit, and the ambience is nice and clean, with lighting being not too dark. There's also usually free street parking nearby which is a plus! read more

I came here after a big reservation for my birthday. The location is in Emory Village, conveniently near Emory University. There's limited parking around there, whether it is the few spots on the street or nearby parking lots like the Jimmy John's. The atmosphere is quite dim with soft lights. Our server was nice, but I think she was overwhelmed with the number of people and that a lot of people weren't ready for drinks or food yet. It's so convenient and easy to use the QR code to pay or split the bill, compared to the server manually splitting food between customers. People who shared food could easily pick which guest their food was listed under and pay for it. She was also sweet enough to take a group picture of us. The garlic bread was amazing!!! It was delicious and super garlicky. The bread was soft on the inside but had a good crunch on the outside. I got the spicy speziato, which was a spicy shrimp with squid ink pasta. The sauce had a good kick to it, so I wound up dipping the plain pizza crust into it too. The pizza was a thin crust, but I think there was a wide crust and lot of fresh arugula on top. Squid ink is just used for food coloring and has no added taste for those who were wondering. The duck risotto also looked phenomenal, but could have had more meat. A group of us was visiting the Emory Conference Center last week for a training program. While walking around Emory campus, we ended up going by Double Zero and this is where we had our dinner that night. What a great find. Out wait staff was friendly and recommended the pizza to us. What a great rec as it was EXCELLENT. We all shared a pizza and got pasta dishes, which were also great. I felt the price was reasonable considering we had pizza, pasta and a drink -- I think $37 was the total. We almost went back another night given the fun atmosphere but weren't able to make it. When we have our training program at Emory next year, we'll be back. Others who went also recommended the garlic knots heavily though unfortunately we didn't try them -- next time for sure, though! read more

We used to dine at Double Zero all the time when they were located in Sandy Springs. The service and the food was always on point. We loved it there! For Valentine's Day this year, we went to the Emory Village location and quite honestly weren't impressed. i don't know if its standard or just because of the occasion, but the hostess literally started the night off by telling us how much time we were allotted to dine for. That instantly turned us off. we felt rushed throughout the meal and when our wine glasses were empty, we weren't even asked if we'd like another. We did love the garlic knot and calamari. The short rib was okay. i don't think we'll back again. i don't know if there was a change in ownership/management, but if so we miss the old team and menu. read more

I came here for a friends birthday dinner and had an absolutely delightful time. I got the salad with salmon and i would return just for that. The garlic knot is huge and covered in a garlic butter. The pizza dough is soft and fluffy - they serve it with scissors so you can cut through it! While the food is good the service is even better. Where to even begin with Double Zero?! The food here was EXCELLENT. We went for my father-in-law's birthday. There were 6 of us total. Highly recommend making a reservation, as it's a pretty popular restaurant. This location is right in Decatur, right on Emory University's campus. To start, we all shared the garlic knot and the fritto misto. We got two orders of the garlic knot, as it's essentially one big knot, that you share. It was so good. The butter on top was such a good add-on, and the bread pulled apart so nicely. The fritto misto was enjoyed by our group (I am not a fan of calamari, but they all said it was really good.) This fritto misto did have some pieces of shrimp in it as well, which I had a piece of, it was quite good. For my main course, I got the chicken parmesan and got a pasta add-on of cacio e pepe. When I tell you this is the best chicken parmesan I have ever had, I mean that with 100% truth! It was EXCELLENT. It wasn't a huge piece of chicken in the sense that it was so thick, but it was big in the sense of the size of the entire piece of cutlet. It had the perfect amount of crispiness and softness to it. It also came with a side salad too. You can choose from a pasta add-on of cacio e pepe and pasta pomodoro (for an additional cost). I got the cacio e pepe. It was so good. The perfect amount of everything. My fiancé got the ravioli al formaggio. This dish was also excellent. It was flavorful and had the perfect amount inside each ravioli. If you haven't noticed by now....all the food we got was incredibly flavorful. From the appetizers to the entrées, everything was a 10/10. Our group also shared a bottle of red which was recommended by our server. The service at Double Zero is far from terrible. Our server was incredibly attentive and continuously checked on our table throughout the entire evening. He engaged in conversation with us unrelated to dinner and made suggestions when appropriate at the same time. The only reason that I am not giving Double Zero 5 stars, is because parking is an absolute madhouse. There is a lot directly behind the restaurant, but fills up very quickly around dinner time. I had to circle the area about 3 times before I found a spot that opened up. Other than that, everything else is 5 stars. I highly recommend dining at double zero. We were in town visiting for a conference and tried out Double Zero because the shuttle from the Emory Conference hotel took us there. It was a Monday night and took advantage of half priced bottles of wine. The service was great and the food was very good too. I had the margarita pizza and was surprised that it comes uncut and they bring you scissors to cut it yourself. It works well if you are sharing and don't want big slices. Honestly Double Zero is just okay. It is not the best pizza place I've ever been and not really worth the price. I ordered takeout and was a few minutes early so I was prepared to wait but ended up waiting twenty minutes after the scheduled pick-up time which isn't great especially if you have plans. I got the garlic knot because it has so many good reviews but I didn't like it very much. It was very lemony and had almost no garlic flavor and I've had better garlic knots for cheaper. The margarita pizza and ravioli were okay but not worth the price. You are probably paying for the ambiance but if you are getting takeout it's not worth it and I doubt I'll go back. read more

My son wanted to come for dinner after his last day of school. I made reservations the day of for early Friday night and we were seated quickly in a spacious booth. We ordered the fritto misto and garlic knots for appetizer which I recommend. My son orders the kid's chicken Alfredo which was amazing and messy as the sauce was drippy. My husband ordered the chicken pasta (fancy name he does not remember) which he liked. My daughter and I shared the Margarita pizza which was tasty. Finally we got the cannoli which husband liked. Our waitress was nice, manager was helpful. Husband did not like the additional charge for paying with QR code, so he asked to have it removed (3% charge). The atmosphere, food, and service were great. Jordan, our server, was enthusiastic and enjoyable. To start, we shared the arancini. It was interesting to say the least as we both try to pick the most unique item off the menu. My first impressions of it were either two large looking meatballs or hush puppies. Lol. The inside housed what appears to be rice and cheese if you were to put it in more simplistic terms. The San Marzano tomato sauce helped neutralize the saltiness of the romano and added flavors to the mozzarella and parmesan arancini that was in the interior of this ball of rice. The hubs actually liked my pick of the diablo chicken pasta. They used real shredded chicken with lots of garlic bits of which were dubbed garlic croutons (that explains their chunkiness). There was a lingering spice from the calabrian chillies that's similar to red pepper flakes. A very doable spicy level. The olives and red bell peppers provided some nice colors and slight flavors. A lover of spices and garlic, this became the hubs' instant like. I actually liked his pick of the OG DZ pizza that's comparable to a medium size. The garlic oil was an interesting base. There were the grana padano and siano fior di latte cheeses that at first appeared to be romano and mozzarella. The arugula and prosciutto were really great. Though it was a simple ish pizza, it reminded us of when we visited the many pizza shops in Rome and Naples. An interesting fact about Double Zero is how they use double zero flour imported from Italy. We could distinguish how it was more chewy and light in its consistency. read more

We were planning to attend a concert at Emory a couple of blocks away, so we chose this as our pre-concert dinner venue. We parked in a deck for the concert, but I think this place has a shared parking lot for the strip-mall around back. There is also street parking within a block or two. Years ago, I think this space was partially occuppied by Jagger's. Now, DZ takes up a large volume in the center of the Emory Village strip. The overall atmosphere was sort of dark / sleek. They also seemed to have an abundance of servers (which had been rare through much of 2022). However, the dining experience was somewhat laid back. At one point a manager happened to stop by and we ended up asking about our entrees just before the showed up. Our server was friendly, but his appearances were a bit sporadic. We were able to find items to try on the menu, but they seemed to try to have some sort of twist to most dishes. My wife's was a bit spicier than she expected. My pasta dish was a sort of 'fall squash harvest' dish on steroids. The description implied that there was squash involved, but they went all out with it. I didn't especially dislike it, but I would probably not order it again either. Portions were decent, but not large enough to merit a to-go box. We were full enough to skip dessert. We had eaten at a Double Zero location in Silicon Valley and enjoyed it more. I was surprised at the either regional or seasonal variance in the menu. I think that this place has potential, but for our next concert-dinner, I may check out other venues in the area for comparison. read more

I think this is my new favorite pizza place! We did a pick up order.. Got the Margherita pizza and the flavor was outstanding. Loved the crust it wasn't soggy like some Neapolitan style places. They were also generous with the toppings as well. Other places I've tried put like two pieces of basil on the whole pie or not enough fresh mozarella. But not here! Great job. Posting a review today because we had an exceptionally good meal with server EB. She was on point and explained all the new stuff to us. Stopped by here for dinner with my toddler and husband and we ordered the bolognese pasta, kids cheese pizza, garlic knot, and the diavola pizza with arugula. The garlic knots and pizza were good and crust was really nice. I think the pasta had ok flavor but i was expecting a little more sauce, it was on the dry side. Server and host were very nice and accommodating. More on the pricey side. In a cute area with parking nearby. Cute bar inside and plenty of seating as well. read more
