I've been eating Double Dave's for over 30 years. It's consistently been a a quality reasonably priced Texas staple. Since moving back close to one of their locations, I've been ordering the same special consistently for small gatherings. Only 5 weeks ago the Mercedes Deal was $50 for 2 large specialties, 12 rolls, and a large calzone. Today that particular special no longer exits and has been replaced with a new special that removes a specialty pizza and replaces it with a 1 topping. This new less valued special is now quite literally double the price from $50 to $100. I get inflation is hitting us all, but Double Daves should be known for pizza, not Doubling their price in less than a month's time. Crazy business model from the new ownership. Good luck. read more

My son asked me to stop by Double Dave's pizza in Keller, Tx on my way home from work. I saw on their website that they were open until 9 PM. I arrived just before 8:30 and I was informed that the kitchen was already closed. They were not accepting any orders I left and informed my husband who tried calling to see if he could place an order for pick up and the time was now 830 pm. They stated they were already closed and could not take any orders. I would highly recommend they change the hours of operation to 8:30 pm, so customers, especially those who drive from out of town, will not be turned away empty-handed half an hour before the advertised closing time. read more

Love this place already walking through the front door , gives early 2000s vibes (someone said it's outdated but I say it's not modern, who likes modern anyways it's BORING.) The pictures on Google Maps and Yelp show an ice cold beer next to a dish. Much to our thirsty desires, no beer is sold at this establishment. The ambiance, meh. It's definitely dated and does need more attention to have no food droppings on the floor and dirty tables with used dishes just sitting there. Service was okay. Ordered a meateater, a cheese, and a bbq chicken. The cheese came out like 10 minutes before the bbq, and the meateater was third. I think the kitchen needs to do a better job with timing so that the presentation of all three pizzas is at the same time. Watch out for false charges on your bill here. And if you ask them to correct them they'll call you an a**hole and a c*nt! I had been a frequent customer of this chain for decades but this location is the pits. The high staff turnover and dwindling food quality contribute to an overall bad customer experience. We were enjoying a nice sunny day at Bear Creek and searched for a pizza place to have lunch. It was 4 minutes away so we thought about giving it a try. Being our first time here, it was a great ambience and wonderful customer service. We give it 3 stars for the pricing and pizza. Not knowing they had a pizza buffet and upon our arrival being wowed by the delicious salad bar that took me back to my childhood pizza place, we made an abrupt decision to purchase the buffet. However, they charged $9.99 per child, which in regular restaurants, you can get a decent meal for $5.99-6.99. Our children are 3 and 6 years old and only ate about 3 slices of pizza and a small drink. We ended up paying $48 for a lunch. The pizza was okay. Crust was thin and I was full with only two slices since I made two trips to the salad bar. Not sure if there was a different price only for the salad bar. Didn't think about asking. Anyways, being in a tight budget and being a family of four, it hurt our wallet but we are thankful we were able to support the business. read more

My husband and I moved back to Ft Worth 8 years ago. We have driven past there and never stopped in. We received a coupon in the mail and thought that would be a good time to try it out. DoubleDave's has been in its location for a long time. We wanted it to be good but it just wasn't. We really didn't know what to expect. We walked in and right away we noticed it was kinda like CeCe's as they have a buffet too. But they have a lot more food choices. We ordered our pizza and sat down. When they brought the pizza it didn't look very good. First off it was very dark, almost burnt. It really didn't have much flavor except for the pepperoni. That was crispy and good. It was barely editable. We went ahead and ate it and left the crust. It was a a little worse than the pizzas you get at a kids birthday party. All I can say now is we gave it a shot, tried it, but won't be back. There are too many good places to get pizzas here. With new ones opening all the time. One being Mama's right across the street. My family and I have been coming to Double Dave's since I was a little girl, and it has never failed me. But I come on Yelp and I see these past 3 bad reviews and they actually shock me, because people like the ones below me, are the reasons why my childhood memories of other Double Dave's get closed down. This is one of the last Double Dave's in the area, and they are still here after 13 years for a reason people! They have positive attitudes, and if there is something you have a problem with and you let them know, it gets fixed without hesitation. FED UP!!! I'm so tired of this location. Months ago we went in for dinner on a non busy week night for the buffet. I had all my family, my three kids and my wife. We get in at 8 pm. An hour before they close. Right upon getting in to pay they are immediately shutting us down, telling us they won't make any new pizza since they close in an hour. Now that might have been ok but the buffet was lacking at that time and a pizza or two would have been nice. Also they expected us to pay full price for half the food. So we left and went elsewhere. Now to today. I wanted DD's so bad, so my wife and I make a longer drive, and we arrive somewhere close to 7pm. Parking lot is empty, one car. We walk up and there's a paper sign in the door saying they are closing early but with no reason. Website says 9 pm close. Now look I get staffing issues, and I'm ok with that. But maybe they should have given a reason. But for now this location and Double Dave's in general, my family and I have given up on them for good. We will take our business elsewhere. read more

Every time I am in the Keller area visiting family, I try to go to Double Dave's, but my most recent trip is the one I'm writing about...as it wasn't as great as previous trips. We walked in with after checking in on Yelp with a family of about 6 adults & a couple of kids. I love checking in on yelp not only for the deals but to show my support for local businesses. When I came in & showed the deal, the cashier immediately said it wasn't their deal, it was the first time she'd ever seen it & didn't know if she could honor it...okay...in the end, I showed her again that it pops up on their page & typically it's the page owner that sets these deals up, when she finally accepted it. Great. Later we saw we were a cup short so I asked the pizza cook if we could grab one for water. He said he was too busy (cutting 2 pizzas) and asked me to wait...Now, back in my early days I worked for Pizza Hut for well over 5 years....he was not busy. And dude, if you're overwhelmed with 2 pizzas, it's time to find a new job. On to the food! The buffet was mediocre when we arrived around 6 with stale, old pizzas sitting under warmers. We asked for a couple standard pizzas (pep and cheese, bbq) & they were quick to get those made. Luckily a few additional families arrived & new pizzas were coming out. We were expecting the food to be good as always but it wasn't. The pizza changed recipe and it's now thin and just awful. Very disappointed. I've been coming here for years. If I could ever see a business slowly deteriorating this would be it. It's pretty sad, got to the buffet which is only open for 2 hrs, with about 1 hr 10 min left to eat. Paid the $50.00 for myself, wife and two children. There were only about 4 pizzas on the buffet with a few slices on each. While we waited more and more people started to pile in. Still not much on the buffet. There was a large line at one point waiting on pizza. Guy behind the counter kept looking at the buffet and then at the crowds as they walked in shaking his head and muttering something under his breath. Pretty sure the people that are entering the facility are there to help support the establishment. Not sure if getting upset at the crowd of patrons was the right thing to do, just because the business was faiIimg to supply what everyone was paying for. I would think that if you are only offering the buffet for 2 hrs, you would make sure your ready, unfortunately this was not the case. I was able to eat about 5 slices before I gave up and went somewhere else to eat. Ever since I moved (second grade) to Columbus Ohio, I have dreamed of my sweet reunion with this diner. The game arcade was my humble abode, and dare I say, the gauntlet of all arcades.
