Oliva Italian Eatery, a hidden gem in Keller! This was our first time eating at Oliva's, and we were not disappointed! Sitting at the end of an unassuming strip mall, Oliva's has a nice family atmosphere. Even though there were a couple of larger parties in there, the servers were prompt and friendly. Most importantly.... The food was plentiful and delicious. I had the Seafood Oliva which consisted of a "Fruiti de Mare" of shrimps, clams, mussels, and calamari rings over a bed of linguine in a flavorful white wine tomato sauce. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the linguine was "al dente"! My wife had the Chicken Toscana, consisting of grilled chicken breast, artichokes, and tomatoes, in a lemon butter caper white wine sauce over another bed of "Al dente" linguine which was excellent! There was so much food that we each only ate half of our entrees so we could save room for dessert! For dessert we had a piece of homemade tiramisu and a cannoli which were delicious! Excellent food, great atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. We will be coming back to our new found Italian "Go To"restaurant and we'll be bringing friends with us! read more

Cute little Italian Cafe and we had high hopes. Servers and managers were really nice and food came out quickly. However, if you're calling yourself an Italian Eatery, you have to nail the pasta and unfortunately it was all overcooked. My son's pene, my wife's spaghetti, and my linguine were all about 1-2 minutes over and none al-dente. The Aglio Olio linguine had about three pieces of vegetables and garlic and was otherwise a mound of linguines pasta...although my wife and ai agreed the sauce was good. Not sure we'll come back but we wish them well...hope they improve the pasta coming out the pass. read more

Ambiance is a little worn but nice. Server closed a curtain that block the bright Texas summer sun without being asked. It is nice when your needs are considered without having to attract someone's attention. My wife wasn't hungry, so she ordered bruschetta. I opted for shrimp scampi. It took longer than reasonable for a nearly empty restaurant for our food to arrive. The bruschetta had the dreaded fast food chopped tomatoes that appeared to have been stored longer than normal. My scampi consisted of 6 dry shrimp sitting atop an enormous bowl of linguine. The lemon based sauce was flavorful but not overpowering. The pasta was overcooked as were the shrimp. I attempted to send mine back to have it remade. The manager explained that the pasta was precooked and if they remade my order, it would come out exactly the same way. I searched the menu and settled on a large Caesar salad. The salad was large, fresh and had a reasonable amount of dressing and cheese. Unfortunately, I had anticipated having a bowl of fresh pasta. We came here with some friends who are Italian and raved about it, so that should tell you something right away. This is a very intimate local restaurant and checked all the boxes for me. It fills up pretty quickly on weekends; we got there right about 5 p.m. and got a table right away but it got crowded quickly. Of course this was a Friday. Toasted ravioli was delicious, hot and crispy with marinara sauce. Also loved the fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic. I ordered their special of the day, butternut squash ravioli. It was delicious with portabella mushroom sauce and fresh grilled veggies. The table shared an order of the chocolate chip bread pudding that was incredible. We don't live in Ft. Worth or we would have this on our regular rotation. As it is, I won't hesitate to make the trip to enjoy it again. read more

Overcooked pasta that was like mush - ok need to enter more characters to make the app happy

This has been one of my favorite Italian restaurants.... Until yesterday. A few weeks ago we had an outstanding meal delivered that was nearly perfect! So yesterday I decided I was ready to repeat my order. I had the veal parmigiana and my husband had the salmon picotta. He said his was great. Mine was cold, the cheese was no longer melted and the meat was so tough, I had to get out my sharpest steak knife to TRY to cut it. I finally gave up and threw the whole thing into the trash. It was alright. when we got there, we were the only ones in the restaurant but I think they were putting together a huge catering order so that definitely impacted the wait on food. They brought table bread and it was good but the oil served with it tasted sour and old. Our server stood around a lot with not much to do yet we had to ask for water refills. Took almost 30 minutes for our food even tho again we were the only ones there. My husband's meal was good but mine was drenched in oil or grease. And for a shrimp meal, it sure didn't have much shrimp. Great cocktail. The Russian beach. Delicious. The garlic bread was powdered garlic and was so pungent I could not eat it. Service was amazing. They have so many runners. I've been here before and it's usually been pretty good but tonight was very disappointing. We arrived just before the dinner rush. I get that our server was newer, but all of the interactions were very awkward. First, we attempted to order 2 salads, but after the first one was ordered, the server walked away after only one of us ordered. We had to call her back. The server then took our menus when we hadn't even ordered our entrees yet. 15 min later, the server came back and asked if we wanted salads because they weren't in the system. We ordered again and eventually only one came out. The other salad came later. Soon after our entrees were served. One steaming, one cold. At this point, I did not want to send back the plate so I just had them wrap it up to go. I mentioned it to the server and she said sorry. We have been trying to eat at Olivia's for a while and every time we go they have a wait. So we came in on Father's Day around 2:00 ish so it wouldn't be so busy. Such a nice little restaurant. It's very clean and the service it's definitely the best in the area. The waiter was so attentive the food came out fast and was delicious! Large portions and great prices. Now I know why there is always a wait. We will definitely be going back! 4.5 stars if I could. Typically, I don't eat Italian out since we cook it at home, but our friends suggested we meet there for dinner so we did. This is a small restaurant in a strip shopping centre. Don't let the fact that it's in a strip centre stop you from trying the restaurant out. The service was excellent and so was the food. First off, excellent job on getting the #GlutenFree menu and food spot on; the owner has been Gluten Free since 2006, and when you have food allergies there's tremendous peace of mind knowing that the restaurant is well-trained and understands the GF requirements perfectly. Very large portions; great value; good prices:'; good service. Everyone ordered cocktails, but I went straight to a glass of wine: this was the only thing I didn't care for that night was the glass of Pinot Noir I ordered. It's the only "by the glass" pinot on the menu. Very disappointing vinegary taste and I couldn't drink it. (If you've read my other reviews you know I know my reds.) I'm thinking the bottle had been opened a while. My spouse tasted it and made a face and did one of our friends, and they, too, said it tasted like vinegar. read more

The ambiance was an intamemt causel feel. The owner keep all the Togo order outside in a climante control environment to not disturb the guest eating at the restaurant. The service was spot on, and even if your raider wasn't around another waiter was there to help. we were seated fairly quickly and were provided menus, chef special and wine list. We started with the Caprese and garlic bread. The Caprese had tons of fresh basil, which was really nice. The garlic bread was good, but it could've had more of a garlic flavor. My fiance thought it was great. I got the salmon piccata with spaghetti, and the white wine sauce that comes with had so much flavor, which is very rare. I would highly recommend this dish for any person that loves a white wine sauce with flavor. My fiancé got the blacked chicken fettuccineaAlfredo, which also had tons of flavor and a lot of chicken. It was enough for him to take some home. we ended with the tiramisu, which was also very delicious. The cake was very fluffy and light and not heavy compared to other cakes in tiramisu. We also ordered a bottle of Chianti Classico but the wines do interchange but this one for the value we received was $50 value at the restaurant but online it was selling for $61. read more

First time trying this place out as it was close to the house and looked delicious! We went on a Saturday evening for two around 7:20ish. We got the last table for two and we're seated quick. The bar service to get your drinks was a bit slow but beer and wine they served much faster! We got the calamari to start and it was a large portion and was incredible! My boyfriend got the chocolate martini and I got a glass of wine. Then I got the side Caesar salad and chicken parmigiana which was a huge portion and tasted absolutely delicious. you could taste how fresh the pasta and the pasta sauce was! We left a conference in Denton and needed to stop for food on our way back home to Austin. I was curious about this highly rated Italian restaurant with a large gluten free menu. All I can say is, WOW!!! Cynthia (co-owner), who has celiac, has crafted a menu that transports you to life before wheat illness. I enjoyed my huge plate of gluten free pasta with a delicious vodka sauce (Oliva with grilled chicken), and we LOVED our salad! We also ordered two of the five, yes FIVE, GF desserts, and they were amazing, and we took a meatloaf dinner to go, also delightful and GF!! I can say it was literally the BEST Italian food I've eaten in my 44 years of living. We had the pleasure of meeting both Justin and Cynthia, the owners and husband and wife team, and they are the sweetest. They have outdone themselves, and my hubby and I are so happy to have enjoyed the pleasure of dining at their lovely restaurant with their sweet and attentive staff. Absolutely awesome! We have ordered from here 8 times now since moving to this area and every order has been awesome. The order are made correctly, good portion sizes, and quality ingredient's. The salads, meatballs, baked ziti is my fav, chicken olivia, and the cannoli you can't miss out on. One thing I love ordering here compared to others is when I order my baked ziti I can customize it and add a the meats I want and load it up. Other places you can't do that. My wife and I were going to be in town for a quick 4-day getaway. I booked a different restaurant each night. Tonight we went to Oliva's. At first glance you think - uh Oh - this is in a strip mall type location - do NOT let that dissuade you from coming. When we entered we were seated immediately (it was almost full and we got there just before the 'rush'). Our server immediately came over to welcome us and take our beverage orders (we are boring - my wife drinks water and I drink diet soda). Our beverages were quickly at our table and were consistently refilled throughout our meal without ever being empty and without ever having to ask. For an appetizer we ordered the fried zucchini with horseradish mayo dip. The zucchini slices were breaded in a beer-batter and deep fried. The perfectly done crunchiness of the coating went well with the zucchini. The dip was very tasty - I would have liked a bit more horse radish flavor but I probably like too much horse radish - my wife thought it was perfectly balanced. The one and only 'disappointment' was the bread which was brought with the oil and pepper (and we had them add balsamic vinegar). It was almost like a soft dinner roll that was cut into slices. It wasn't bad but it did tend to get soggy when dipped. I had the Mediterranean salad and it was one of the best I've had. It had many fresh and bold flavors which made it stand out from most I've had. My wife had the Chicken. Tortellini which was also prepared well. The tortellini were not over cooked as often happens. Another great dish. For our entrees my wife had the fettuccini with creamy marinara sauce and Italian sausage and I had the baked ziti. First, let me say that we could have fed three people with each entree - their portions are VERY generous, which often means then quality is lacking and is being 'made up for' in quantity. That was NOT the case here. Both dishes were prepared perfectly. The pasta was exactly as it should be (many places can't seem to do that) and the flavors were to die for. If it were not for the fact that we would have gotten sick by eating more, I think we would have eaten more - but we will have enough to take home for at least another meal (which we are looking forward to). Though we were full from our meal - we couldn't pass up dessert. I had a cannoli and my wife had the 'Cynsational Chocolate Custard'. My cannoli was delicious. The outer pastry was perfect - a good crunchiness but not over-done and had a very subtle hint of cinnamon. The filling was a rich smooth vanilla. There was a drizzle of chocolate sauce on the plate. It was wonderful. My wife's dessert was also great. It was a rich, creamy chocolate custard with a dollop of whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Very tasty! So, with the exception of the bread, the dinner was VERY delicious. The staff were clearly working in sync with each other. Someone was always at the table to take care of every need before anyone had to ask. I was so impressed that I had to ask our server what was different - they all seemed to work so well together - and she said they are like a big family and they all like one another. Whatever it is, it is working and it was noticeable, especially in the current market where restaurants can't seem to keep their staff. If we come back to the Ft Worth area, we would absolutely dine here again! read more

I asked for some basalmic to add to my oil and enjoyed a few slices before my lunch was served. I asked the waitress for her recommendation so she gave me a few. Somehow I don't think I would be disappointed by any of them. I chose the Polo Oliva. A huge portion, the pasta is an Italian brand that has a nice bite to it. It was cooked perfectly. The sauce was creamy and thick with a ton of mushroom, artichoke and black olives. The black olives added a unique bite to the dish. Be sure to ask what desserts are house made, there are several.
