I decided to review this place since I have now been a return customer three times. Double Dave's pizza is a buffet pizza place similar to Cici's but ten times better. The atmosphere is comparable to Cici's. The tables and seating are almost cabin-like. The benches were a little uncomfortable. I am 5ft 5in tall and my feet couldn't touch the ground because the bench seat slopes upward. However, that's a minor issue (but something that bothers me every time I go so thought I would mention it). They have a small salad bar with the usual toppings and dressings. They even provide those little plastic cups for Ranch dressing without giving you a hard time. That is a must have for dipping crust! They have a self serve soda fountain and tea station. (this time they were out of straws - a little weird). The pizza buffet sits along the back wall under heat lamps. They have great pizza. One of my favorites is the Alfredo & Cheese pizza. I have tried most of the types they offer and have no complaints. The advertise their Stromboli pizzas and pepperoni rolls - both of which are great. I really enjoy their Philly Cheese steak Stromboli - DELICIOUS! They also have a great dessert selection. My favorites are the apple or cherry Stromboli, cinnamon/sugar pizza with chocolate chips, or just the plain cinnamon sugar pizza. Soooo good! The restaurant was clean with a family atmosphere. The bathrooms were also clean and smelled good - not like most public restrooms (big pet peeve of mine). Also, they had a very small area in the back that housed arcade games and those machines you can put a quarter in and get a prize in return! Cool for the kiddos!! I have officially written this place off, the only reason I came is because CiCis closed. The service is ho-hum. The pizza and salad bar are over priced and lacking in quality. The pizza was cold, the salad was wilted. They have promised for two years to renew their liquor license, but never following up. Based on the fact that most of the staff has changed over the years my guess is the owner is managing the place which is why it never improves. Never again, I'm done with you Double Daves! read more

I ate here yesterday and had a very good experience. I haven't eaten at a DoubleDaves since I was in college at A&M and eating here brought me right back. There were lots of great choices of pizza to choose from (like 10+), something for everyone, but their specialty (in my opinion) are their pizza rolls. MAN they are good! They are a must try when you go here. The staff did an excellent job of keeping an appropriate amount of pizza available to eat, constantly turning out the new pizza and calling to the restaurant what was newly available. While I can't eat here that often (I already have a problem controlling my amount of pizza intake), I will definitely return, and I very much look forward to it! read more

I love DoubleDave's! I have such fond memories of driving to Austin from Waco to experience the greatness of pizza rolls in college. My visit tonight KILLED my memories! The Keller DoubleDave's is awful! If this is a franchise, you should bring in a new owner immediately! The staff could not care less. They are completely unresponsive. We asked them to make a cheese only pizza roll for my daughter...they said "NO"! WHAT?!?! They ran out of pizza rolls and it took forever to bring out new ones. (Note: the pizza rolls are still awesome, but everything else sucks!) We found a HAIR in one of the dessert pizzas. We told a staff person and her response was "ok". She didn't even apologize or even take the slice away. Basically, it was "meh"...who cares?!?! WHAT??!?! And the rest of the offerings...pizza...salad bar...desserts...were awful. They just don't care about a good experience or product. Do NOT go to this location. You should probably just go...I can't believe that I'm actually saying this...go to CiCi's. UGH! read more

We luv, Luv, LUV Double Dave's!! Definitely been a family FAVE while the kids were growing up so for years. We eat at one EVERY opportunity we get. Been traveling with my husband's job for a few years so we were Sooo EXCITED to be back and get to the Keller location. This time we took our grandson with us. He loved playing the games in the arcade while our food was being prepared. As usual, it did NOT disappoint! Peproni rolls came out first (appetizer ) then pizza followed abt 7 minutes?? Our "Sticky Fingers" pizza was COVERED with hot, fresh toppings and was oh Sooo yummy!! The crust and sauce are great too! Then... they popped in our cinnamon w/icing sticks to cook WHILE we ate so our dessert came out hot, fresh-made, and Scrumptious!! I mean... WHO does ALL that?!!? Might have to wait just an extra bit, especially when they're busy but it's ALWAYS worth it!! Efficient, friendly staff go out of their way to serve! There's great music, nice family environment and the place is always clean!! Just a great experience all the way around. We had the pleasure of meeting John, the owner of this location. I love pepperoni rolls. Anyone that doesn't is wrong. I first started loving DDs about 14 years ago and this franchise is good. The bad thing was that they were not busy at all. Everyone in the area seems consumed by the small pizza speciality places, but I am here to tell you that pepperoni rolls are the boom. On Tuesday's you get two for the price of one. I picked up 18 rolls and my family about killed themselves to get at them once I got home a couple hours of driving later. Yum. read more

I don't have an issue with the price if it would have been a full buffet. The salad bar was nice, fresh and clean though Carbonation of drink Machine was out. Soda and pizza go hand in hand. I ordered a small Margherita pizza and a medium chocolate chip cookie pizza. If I were just reviewing the food, it would be a higher rating. For a buffet, it tastes pretty good! However you are risking your health by visiting this restaurant! It is filthy. Everywhere I looked it is dirty or in disrepair. Washing your hands won't help as the tables, sneeze guard and utensils are all dirty. Full disclosure: Pizza is my favorite food. As of June 2017, I have been to this location three times. Ever since graduating college at A&M, I've been trying different Double Dave's that are closer than College Station. This is my goto Double Dave's all the way from Plano, Tx. It is about a 45 minute drive and always enjoy coming here to eat. I always call ahead to make sure the buffet hours are running before making the trip. This location also has a few games/arcades to keep speedy eaters entertained/occupied while the slower eaters can enjoy their food. I enjoy eating here. If you are a fan of Cici's Pizza Buffets or think it could be better, try this place. They have a salad bar, pizzas, pizza rolls and desserts. Each month they have a speciality pizza that is unique and I always enjoy trying them. I hope to go there again soon! read more

I've always been a fan of Double Dave's. We use to go to the one in Euless all the time. My wife and I decided to go to Keller and we're excited when we saw one was there. The price was higher thàn I remembered and I didn't see it listed anywhere. When an employee told me the price, I was fine with it. The quality is so good it's worth it. But then John the owner went out of his way to come over and apologized for the price being so high. He said the employee thought I was upset with how much it cost, which makes sense because I've been told I have a terrible case of "RBF". Even though I wasn't upset at all, John went out of his way to make us feel special and welcome. We would go back just for the Philly cheese steak stromboli. Now I'm not sure where or how the name originated from, but the pizza was REALLY good! At the first attempt to write this review, I was giving it a four star rating. But after I reheated up three slices I had as left over and seeing how the taste and consistency didn't change very much, well...I was impressed! I ordered "The Works", minus the green bell peppers. This place does not treat customers with respect! They falsely advertise gift cards for sale and then do not accept them. I purchased $100 in gift cards for my children at Christmas and now they are useless unless I drive to another town to use them! The gift cards for sale were clearly under the Keller, TX DoubleDave's webpage, yet when we went in to redeem them we were told that we would not be able to. This ruins my relationship with them!! This is better than most buffet pizza joints. Good variety, clean and well stocked. The music has been loud on both of our visits, but not to the point of being annoying. Ah DoubleDave's...eating here was very nostalgic for me. I crushed many pepperoni rolls while in school at the original DoubleDave's (College Station). The pepperoni rolls were just as good as I remembered! My wife and I agreed that the philly cheese stromboli was amazing! Here's the rub though, just as I remembered, the pizza is just meh. We have been a fan of the DoubleDaves chain for many years. Since moving to Keller 2.5 years ago, we have frequented this location. We also order delivery from here at least once a month. We have family in Plano that drive over just to eat DoubleDaves. In the past several months, the quality of the delivery and dine-in experience has dropped dramatically. Recently, we arrived at 12:15 for a lunch buffet and discovered that there was NOTHING on the buffet. On another visit, so many tables were in-bussed that we had trouble finding a place to sit. The employees seemed irritated that we were even there. The kitchen struggles to keep their famous rolls on the buffet, so they under-cook them and throw them out a dozen at a time, while patrons watch, waiting to swoop in like buzzards. The games that my child enjoys are almost always out of order and the quarter candy machines are filled with old candy that isn't worth eating. Last month, we ordered delivery and received Stromboli and rolls that were undercooked and a dessert pizza that was SEVERELY overcooked. (The pizza slices could be broken in half.) We ended up throwing it all away. SUGGESTION: if the establishment had a light that they could illuminate when the owner is there, we might stop by more often. That seems to be the only time the service and quality are elevated. read more

Lifetime customer of Double Daves... I have visited various Double Daves restaurants in the past 20+ years.. From College Station, Texas.. Houston, Texas.. San Antonio, Texas to Austin Texas... I know what to expect from Double Daves... This location flopped.. what makes it worse... not the first visit, nor the first "flop"... You arrive with your family to eat the awesome buffet of Double Daves, you are not only getting generic pizza, you get pepperoni rolls, steak stromboli, and other custom pizzas... But wait... Keller not only is missing the pepperoni rolls ("they are in oven" when we arrived.. but only appeared on buffet 5 minutes before we left.. (45 minutes).. Lets also make fun of other customers that were/had visited your location.. where other customers could hear... but wait.. there's more... Lets add the "owners" daughter working there... where she is now immune to need to provide management skills and take care of the concerns expressed to the employees. Not only did this touch a huge nerve.. (I don't care if you are the president of Double Daves, your customers expect a level of professionalism, and service, not excuses for poor service... and of course... NEVER blame a customer for your mishaps or poor planning..).. It's obvious by the reports left here.. This location is going down.. one of the 2 DD"s left in DFW, you woudl think they woudl go down with a fight, to stay.. but they are in self destruct mode.. I live in South Arlington, so I made the 20 mile/30 minute trek to Keller for Double Daves.. and I should have sucked it up and drove to Denton...(50 miles/hour drive).. where they keep their buffet stocked with HOT pizza.. hot stale pizza.. They stock the Pepperoni Rolls and Stromboli... and keep it hot... Like a REAL Double Daves.. ... For all the people reading... Take your chances.. maybe the conversation with Corporate will improve things.. or maybe they'll understand that this location is ruining their name...
