From Mike at the shuttle to Caise at the front desk and the servers at dinner and breakfast we couldn't have asked for better service. Caise got us the things we needed since we had no luggage. My reservation was not available when I arrived. My daughter and I were sent to a 1 king bed and a sleeper sofa. Both of us have certain allergies and noticed that we were sneezing more than usual. The bathtub was filthy and there were crickets chirping somewhere in the room. We reported our experiences a to the front desk, received the key card for a room that's was what we initially requested. I took our bags to the new room. The refrigerator was dirty. The tub was dirty. We reported our findings to the front desk and were assured that everything would be addressed before we returned that evening. Guess what...you guessed it. Nothing was done to address our concerns and the crickets were louder in the new room than the last. I would never, ever stay in or recommend this hotel to anyone. I have a disability and can not walk. We were fooled by the web site, which touted how "accessible " they are. We arrived in the evening. The first room was not accessible. When I went back to the front desk, they told me that the room had not booked as accessible, even though we had used an actual Hilton reservation agent. The second room they was a joke. It looked exactly like the other room, except that they had torn out the space under the sink and put a couple of grab bars in odd places. We tried again. The third room was pretty bad, but at least it had a shower that we could put a tub chair in. And the chair was needed because the shower had a high threshold and looks like it had been built in the 60s. The floor had multiple kinds of surfaces with uneven thresholds between each section of flooring. My wheels were constantly getting stuck. The Capper was in the morning at breakfast. They offered what hotels usually do: an expensive buffet and a smaller sit down menu that cost the same amount of money for way less variety and amount of food. The server waved me and said that the buffet was downstairs. I asked where the ramp was. The host didn't know and went into the kitchen to ask when he came out. He said there wasn't one. There was no way to get to the buffet to eat breakfast. I wasn't going to pay the same amount of money for one plate of eggs. We went to McDonald's. read more

This hotel has an airport shuttle; however it is hell trying to contact the hotel for the service. They had old ladies waiting out in the rain for over 45 minutes because the front desk attendants kept hanging up on them and putting them on hold when trying to explain that they needed a shuttle. Absolutely ridiculous. The hotel itself is basic and not worth the price. Nothing hospitable about this place. Spend your $$$ at Crowne Plaza or the Marriott---way better service. read more

I love staying at this DoubleTree. It's like a resort! The pool is huge and goes to 9 feet deep. They don't make them like that anymore for sure. The jacuzzi is big too so it can easily fit about 10 people. The lighting at night is really cool. I like the layout of the buildings and the grounds. The front desk staff is very warm and welcoming. They loaded us up with gift bags of bottled water, trail mix and warm cookies. Even when checking out they offered us water and cookies for the road. Next time I visit I'm gonna wear my Cookie Monster costume. The summer time rates are really reasonable and give a great AAA discount. Highly recommend staying here. read more

So this used to be my second favorite hotel in America. Yes, in the whole US! However, today the water stopped working. No problem except I was mid-shower. I understand things happen so I call the front desk asking what happened to the water. She is not sure but confirms it is not working. An hour and a half pass, and still no water, no update...nothing. Thank goodness I was not attending a business meeting today or I would have looked like a half soapy disheveled mess! Shouldn't they have at least made a courtesy call to guests or drop off a bottle of water so at a minimum we could have finished brushing our teeth? I had no additional time and needed to checkout! As I am walking through, I see a hose with water flowing. So was this incident limited to only my building? I don't know...I get to the front desk and the staff do not know anything. I get that things happen! However, as a hotel, inform your guests of things that can impact them. Offer water if this occurs in the morning when you know guests are getting ready and checking out. I am glad I had not begun putting shampoo in my hair or I would currently be screwed!! Off to my next hotel, the Marriott in Tempe! PROS: - They do fulfill your requests if you put them in (Thanks for the extra down pillows!) - The beds are comfortable This incident just left a bad taste in my mouth...or maybe that's because I was unable to brush my teeth. Facility is clearly dated - acknowledged by the front desk staff. I was last here in the mid-1990s when it was Fiesta Inn and it hasn't changed. The staff claims that planned upgrades were halted because of COVID. Possibly, time will tell. a. Bathroom sink in rm 220 had a crack in it b. Security latch for the front door was not secure - mounting bolts were loose c. Bathroom is incredibly small given how the door opens into the bathroom. You almost have to be standing in the tub to fully open or close the door. d. King bed was uncomfortably firm. e. Sign on the mirror in the bathroom stated that if you wanted housekeeping you had to call the front desk. When I called the front desk I was told: * On short stays like ours, they typically don't do any housekeeping because of COVID. Whatever the Covid policies are, they should be stated via signage in the room to clearly indicate what the policies. I don't fault the hotel for being cautious because of Covid, I fault them for poorly communicating their Covid policy. Covid has been with us for 20-plus months now, policies and communication should have been figured out by now. f. Housekeeping seems to be understaff/overwhelmed * Requested new towels and additional bed pillows at 6:45 a.m. Saturday 9/18/21 before we left the room. The extra pillows were an attempt to counteract the overly firm mattress. Came back to the room after 1:00 p.m., no towels, no pillows. We also couldn't get into our room as the electronic keys no longer worked. Went to the front desk to report both. They reactivated the keys (not sure what happened). Made a second request for towels/pillows. Waited until after 2:00 p.m., was on my way back to the front desk to get towels but found the housekeeping cart a few doors down and got them myself. g. Pool surface has patches of spalling, needs to be recoated 2. DoubleTree typically provides a better experience than this. It's surprising that Hilton put their name on this location. read more

We attended a conference at the Double Tree on 06/13/2022. They had a turkey sandwich box lunch available for the participates. My wife got deathly sick from her warm turkey sandwich. The sandwich was left out for hours with no refrigeration. I refused to eat the bad smelling turkey sandwich. I called and filed a complaint nut the hotel restaurant offered no condolences or explanation why they put people at risk with unrefrigerated food. I have informed the organization that hosted the conference about this problem and lack of concern by the Double Tree by Hilton Conference Center. read more

We've stayed at this hotel for a conference two years in a row as the conference center is here. If the conference weren't onsite then I would not stay here. The highlight is the food is pretty good at the hotel restaurant. It is very convenient to go downstairs and grab a bite to eat or order room service. The first morning there was a problem with the hot water so we all got cool showers. We were definitely awake though. I do like how the exterior corridors face inward and not toward the parking lot. Our room was clean and comfortable. They say they offer free shuttle service but there have been issues every time we tried to use it. When we landed we called the hotel and after 10 minutes on hold we called an Uber. We made a reservation for a certain time on the last day of our conference so we could get to the airport in time to make our flight. There are two shuttles. When the conference let out everyone that had a reservation to shuttle to the airport was standing in front of the hotel. Both shuttles were parked in the parking lot with no driver. After several minutes I called an Uber to take us to the airport so we wouldn't miss our flight. They shouldn't advertise this service if they can't provide it. read more

I stayed recently for a baseball tournament. I'll be complaining to the tournament coordinators also. This hotel is outdated and run down. In a span of 3 nights, 3 vehicles had their rims and tires stolen, left on blocks. A transient assaulted a kid, it was a shi* show! I would never stay here again. I never once saw any security on the property. The staff was ok but nothing outstanding. Beds uncomfortable.. expensive and no free breakfast unless your Hilton honors member. read more

Went to my husband's company party here. Nice place, friendly staff, great food for the meal, but found it rather odd that there wasn't coffee or iced tea available for drinking. Since we aren't much into alcohol, we didn't partake in the cash bar and wasn't about to get soda from there, so we settled for refreshing ice water the whole evening. As far as the festivities went, we were in a nice big room, complete with gambling tables from a party service and a live DJ, complete with quite a mixture of music and a colorful disco light. There was a decent-sized dance floor for gettin' down and boogiein' too. The thing that disappointed me, as I mentioned before, was the fact there wasn't coffee or iced tea to enjoy, despite the fact there were coffee cups on the tables and little pitchers of creamer for the non-existant coffee. read more

My husband and I recently celebrated our 52nd wedding anniversary (delayed due to Covid) with a party at the Doubletree. We worked with Mary Concepcion who was very helpful in meeting our needs and desires for the event. The food was excellent, service was great, and we had several compliments from our guests. The rooms used were very nice and set up just as we requested. The only thing missing was the sign pointing guests to our event. All in all a very lovely evening. read more

Very outdated hotel but they have the best staff in place. My room was clean and had no issues. The shuttle drivers Tom and Mike took us wherever we needed. Front desk people at checkin, Demarcus, Sereena and Rosey were all exceptional and provide the best service i've received in a long time. They made us feel like family. Stayed here last week for work. My first impression was that the place was old and run down. But I did realize it appeared they were doing some renovations. The front desk staff was friendly but they weren't helpful. I guess they just assumed I knew where to find my room , and where to get breakfast, etc because they literally told me nothing. The only question they asked was if I'd like a water and cookie. Once I found my room, I noticed there was construction going on and they left ear plugs on the desk with a letter of explanation. I didn't care much because I was leaving early. The room itself was lacking lighting. The only lights were table lamps /bedside lamp. The towels that were in bathroom had hair on them. I was kind of grossed out. In the morning I went down to meet colleagues and THEY told me I should have breakfast paid with my room. So I went and asked and sure enough that was the case. Glad I didn't pay for it myself. All in all a very underwhelming experience. read more

Which was very much appreciated. ( im 39 weeks pregnant) this was a staycation me and my husband decided to get away for a day before baby is born. Only bad thing to say was the breakfast buffet is NOT worth 16.00 a person. Make sure to clarify if its included with your stay. Stayed here for the weekend in Tempe and we really enjoyed it. The hotel was really nice and clean. Everything in the room was updated. There was a heated pool and hot tub. They have a business center and exercise room. There was also a restaurant. My favorite part was the bed. It was very comfortable and soft. They greet you with a warm cookie!! read more

I wanted to thank Alfonzo and Todd for being so helpful and kind getting us on a shuttle and giving us extra cookies when we found our bathroom was under construction. We would have had the best opinion of our stay in spite of the weird bathroom situation because of their kindness. After four and a half hours of sleep we arrived downstairs in the morning however there was no shuttle- Les (the new desk manager) said very UNAPOLOGETICALLY-you missed it. You are late. IT WAS 603 (the shuttle was scheduled for 6). He was extremely condescending and rude - it made the whole experience really terrible. All we really wanted was a little compassion as weary travelers caught between canceled flights just trying to get home. I'm so tired of rude people. read more

This is the worst Hilton stay i have had ever if i could this would be a 0 star. The front desk was unhelpful and rude. I have never been told i am a liar even when showing my hotel reservation booked directly and a bank statement showing i had paid in full. Then when you finally find it no im sorry my mistake nothing. Then you lock me out of my room and charge me again for it and refuse to refund it. After now 3.5 hours on calls you find where you charged me 3 times oops our bad and still no I'm sorry we messed up. What is going on Hilton you use to be much better. Convenient location and decent rooms, but because it's all outdoor access to the rooms it gets very noisy when people are talking or moving around. It is a reasonably decent place, especially the very friendly and helpful staff, but if they're going to brand this as a Doubletree by Hilton they need to be able to live up to the brand. read more

Stayed here on a voucher provided by US Airways, we didnt have to wait at the airport shuttle pickup line very long, maybe like 10 minutes, driver was friendly and made sure people were going to the correct Double Tree location, he helped people with bags that needed it. Check-in was easy with the voucher, he was ready for the unload of people from the shuttle in our same situation, check-in was late around 11pm or so and he was the only person working the front desk. Also asked us what time we needed the shuttle back to the airport and took a head count to accomodate enough room in the van. He was nice, friendly, quick and informative. Gave us 2 complimentary warm cookies as well. Nice touch! The hotel looks like it would've been swinging in the 80's!!! Palm trees, outside pool, conference rooms, the rooms were outside entrance type, looks like an apartment complex, inside of the room was ok, we were only sleeping there for the night and back to the airport the next morning so it did its job. AC unit is pretty loud so that woke me up a few times in the middle of the night. Sheets were clean, bathroom was standard and the shower was nice. Airline or hotel provided us vouchers for free breakfast in the morning as well. Wait staff was very friendly, not too overly in my face in the morning as I only got about 5 hours of sleep. Quick to clear plates and cups as well. Be sure to tip them! Back on the shuttle to the airport and we out! read more

I can't thank the staff enough for being so amazing. We flew in from CA and booked a reservation through priceline for a different hotel about 5 miles away. As soon as we arrived we found out that they canceled our reservation and that they were sold out. So I scrambled to find a different hotel and ended up here. (Through a different booking site) As soon as we arrived we were met with smiling faces at the front (Danielle and Les). They asked how our day had been and I told them what happened and they felt so bad and went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. Not only did they feel horrible about what happened to us, they let us check in early and got us the room we needed and gave us some cookie. From that point on the whole vibe of our trip changed. The property was really pretty, we were on the 3rd floor facing the pool and the courtyard and we woke up seeing palm trees and listening to all the birds singing. Thank you so much Danielle and Les. Stayed here our first night in the Phoenix area. The staff was fantastic and pleasant which was nice after a long flight. They also went ahead and put my family of youngsters in a room far away from the conference rooms being attended by many 20-30 something men. THE BEST PART: I accidentally left my raincoat WITH MY KEYS IN IT in the closet, checked out and didn't realize it was missing for four days! (Great weather) I called and the cleaning staff had found it, secured it, and held it for me until I was able to return the following week. THANK YOU Maria! This facility is convenient to PHX and I-10. I didn't check the conference center, so can't review. I did eat in the restaurant and it was OK. The bar and lounge area is small and seems dated. Actually, the whole facility feels dated, dirty and badly in need of a refresh. Our room had layers of deodorizer smell to it, trying to mask the smell of smoke, or stale beer, or both. Not much water pressure in the shower and again the bathroom needs an upgrade. One of the shower pull handles feel apart in my hand. The bright part is the staff was collectively awesome. Whether it was the check in staff, cafe, or bar - they were great! Great service can make up for many things and can be too hard to find theses days... read more

Solid 2.5- 3, the grounds are kept well. Sadly that's about it. During our stay, the room was not ready- well after check in. We paid extra for a pool view and were told after coming back from medieval times about 9ishpm that they had no availability because the manager accidentally promised us a pool view room that still had occupants. We were put into a room on the far backside of the property and were given an extremely discounted rate due to it being their mistake. Disappointment isn't even the word. Unfortunately customer service here is lacking, covid was at an all time high with almost nobody wearing a mask, with the exception of some employees. The manager even had his under his nose. This was probably the worst double tree we've ever stayed at. There was even a cannabis product wrapper on the floor of our room with some other trash we randomly found. It's convenient if it's one night to hit the airport early morning but sadly did not live up to the double tree expectations. We didn't even get offered warm chocolate chip cookies. Heart break. Just don't do it guys. We will not be back. read more

Our family really enjoyed our experience in Arizona. We loved our stay at Double Tree. Upon arrival checking in was very quick and easy. Once in our room everything was super clean and we had no problem with the condition of the room. We stayed two nights and room service and housekeeping did an amazing job with our requests. I'm looking forward to coming back to Arizona in the next couple of months and we will definitely stay here again. The courtyard was very relaxing to lounge around. They have a couple chairs and tables near the pool. The pool area was very well kept and the pool water was very clean. Just by walking around and looking through different sections of this double tree i noticed management and staff are doing a great job maintaining the place which is great. For us people with a sweet tooth they have the best cookies free and water upon request as many as you like. Lets just say I took full advantage of that because why not. My kids loved their stay as well. Definitely worth staying here if you plan to visit Arizona. read more

Our flight got cancelled last night due to complications of some sort so we were given a complimentary stay at a hotel of our choice as well as a complimentary meal. Everything including the time that it took to book this hotel as well as getting the shuttle (also included) was very very simple. The woman helping us both over the phone and at the front desk of the hotel was very friendly and helpful! We arrived and were immediately given water and a hot fresh cookie from the front desk. The driver of the shuttle was so so kind lifting our heavy bags for us! We ate breakfast in the morning from the breakfast buffet which was delicious. I spent pretty much all day outside in the pool even though it was 50 degrees! The big pool is heated and was very warm, the jacuzzi was the perfect hot temperature where you can sit in it a while and not get over heated. Even though our flight was cancelled and it was a big let down, the over all experience at this hotel made up for it. read more
