Good spot for dumplings, noodles, and sharing plates Had a meal at Dough Zone in Cupertino and ordered the Dan Dan noodles, pork xiao long bao, beef pancake roll, pan-fried dumplings, and pork wontons in chili sauce. The pork xiao long bao were thin-skinned, juicy, and packed with flavorful broth. The Dan Dan noodles were savory with a nice kick of spice and a satisfying chewy texture. The pork wontons in chili sauce were another favorite, with a silky wrapper and flavorful sauce that added just the right amount of heat. The beef pancake roll was crispy on the outside with tender beef inside, making it a good appetizer to share. The pan-fried dumplings had a nice crispy bottom and juicy filling, giving a great contrast in texture. Service was quick and efficient, and the food arrived surprisingly fast despite the restaurant being busy. The vibe is modern, casual, and lively, making it a great place for family meals, casual dinners, or catching up with friends. The menu has plenty of variety, so it's easy to order several dishes and share. Overall, a reliable spot for comforting Chinese noodles and dumplings.

Came here for a casual date night on a Friday. Place was pretty empty for a Friday which meant we got seated right away, and staff was friendly throughout. Portions run small so plan to order more than you think you need. Still a great value. For the food itself: The Dan Dan noodles are the move. Oily, salty, spicy, and the Sichuan peppercorns actually numb your face and stick around. Makes sense they're the most popular thing on the menu. Chicken xiao long bao were good but the broth inside was weak compared to other places I've had them. Still good though. Chicken potstickers were well executed, good crisp on the bottom, but nothing standout about them. Sweet and sour cucumber was a solid starter and looked nice, but the slices were too thick to actually be able to rip out. The egg fried rice is really good. Oilier than most but that's exactly why it works.

First time dining here. We were seated to our table and asked to scan the QR code for the menu. Unfortunately we did not have any cell reception so the menu could not be loaded. We asked for a physical menu instead. We were given a shee tof paper with menu items on both sides. Restaurant is not very big but it was spacious. Tables were a little closer together. They were out of a number of items today - the Q-Bao and the Chicken Xiao Long Bao. We ordered the Green Onion pancake, Pork & Shrimp Potstickers, Pork boiled wontons in chili sauce, sweet & sour cucumber, Pork and Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao and the Dough Zone signature fried rice. The food came out relatively fast. We enjoyed all of the items we ordered. The weakest dish was the signature fried rice. It was edible -was a little disappointing in the flavor department. It was just fried rice with some egg in it. I have had better tasting fried rice elsewhere. The marinated cucumber was interesting and delicious. Had a nice sweet, tangy and nice crunch. Presentation was also pleasing to the eye! Portion was generous. The Xiao Long Bao and the potstickers were delicious. The potstickers had a nice crunch and flavor. Service was pretty good. When you are finished with your meal, you go to the cashier and pay on your way out. Would definitely come back and try the other dishes.

It's alright. For this category of restaurant (buns and all), I feel like there's a lot to choose from and among its competition, it falls below average. Beef pancake rolls were kinda mid, I wish it had (more?) hoisin sauce. The pan fried pork buns weren't crispy enough and the bun texture is a bit meh. Wonton in chicken soup is a bit on the oily side. Service was fast and restaurant interior is modern.

Great dumplings, love their soup dumplings, their customer service is good too, they have always been friendly. We have been here a lot over the years; though recently tried taking it to go but it wasn't the same as dining in, and can't wait to come back for in person dining. Who doesn't love soup dumplings?! The interior can get super loud and busy! The lines can be long, but for a dumpling enthusiast, its not bad- but this isn't a spot to have deep conversations

Play go to place when ordering soup dumplings whether I'm craving them, I'm sick, or I'm hung over. They never disappoint. I'm a big fan of their pork dumplings and their damn noodles plus they're green onion cakes. The service is always quick and friendly. I enjoy coming here by myself.

A decent dumpling place with good dumpling staples at reasonable prices. The Chicken Potstickers are good. Nice crunch on the wrap, and tasty flavor of the meat. The Pork & Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao is okay. The broth inside the bao is mild and the meat inside was okay. I did like it more than the pork and shrimp. The Beef Noodles is okay too. Mild beef broth, with good noodles and okay beef meat Lastly, I tried the Sweet & Sour Cucumber. It's a good tasty crunch in between baos and dumplings. The balance of the sweet and sour is pretty good. The cut of the cucumbers is fun. There is a waitlist system and the wait can be long during busy hours. But once you're seated, you just scan the QR for the menu and order, and the service is fast. The restaurant is modern with cozy yellow lights. The prices are reasonable. You get good amount of food and the price points are usually $10 and below per dish. Overall it's a decent go-to place for dumplings and baos.

Stopped by Dough Zone in Cupertino for lunch on Christmas Day and were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't busy. We've been here many times before, but this visit felt a bit different from our usual experiences. There was plenty of seating available for parties of four or less, but the seating layout itself felt tight. Even at an average height, the tables and spacing leave you feeling a bit cramped and squished, which made the dining experience less comfortable than expected. Service was average--not especially attentive or helpful. Cell service inside the restaurant is poor, which made their QR-code ordering system frustrating and ineffective. When we asked for a paper menu so we could check off what we wanted, our server gave us some pushback. As usual, the portions fit the price point: smaller servings, but expected given the lower per-dish cost. Overall, the food was consistent with past visits, but the service, seating comfort, and ordering process made this visit less enjoyable than previous ones.

Went here with my sister for lunch and had a good experience. Half the restaurant was filled, and we were seated promptly after arriving. The interior was clean, nice for a casual lunch. You have the option to order with the paper menu or QR code, but the wifi was weak which made it difficult to order by phone. After ordering, the food arrived quickly but most of the dishes were warm, not hot, so that was disappointing. The flavor and texture was good. The service was okay. The experience overall was good (I would come back), but nothing mindblowing.

Went here on. sunday night with friends and it does get busy here but not overly packed! There is a parking spaces right behind the restaurant! We started with a bottle of sake and it had a light sweetness to it and was pretty good! We got the special egg fried rice and dan dan noodles which tasted good and the noodles had a nice spicy taste to it. The chicken XLB and the crab and pork XLB had a lot of flavorful soup in it, my favorite was the chicken flavor! The potstickers and pan fried pork buns were both so good and probably my favorites of the meal! Also liked the high tail shrimp as it had full pieces of shrimp in it! Altogether a solid spot that won't be as costly as other dumpling places!

I had a nice dining experience here with some friends on a weekday! It's a part of Main St Cupertino, around the corner of Meet Fresh, Ippudo, Somisomi. There's a parking garage for retail if you're struggling to find parking. The restaurant has a modern and chic feel to it with a nice ambience to it. There is a QR code to order, which is straightforward, but you can't pay from your phone. So if you were wondering when you'd get some human interaction during this meal, it'll be when you look at the damage you've done to your wallet, hah. I got a green onion noodle to start while I waited for the vegetable dumplings I ordered. The green onion noodles were okay-I actually dressed it up a lot with the condiments that were provided on the side. It was a nice little bite since I was hungry though. The dumplings came out all skimpy, which was kind of disappointing, too. Overall, dough zone is just alright. It feels like it's catered more to the American palette and American expectations. I've tried the SJ location before and I wasn't really awestruck by either experience. If you're hungry, Doughzone does the job.

Tried dough zone recently over the weekend. Being the vegetarian tried all the options in the restaurant. The food was good but sitting was small. They have amazing and fast service.

I went on a Sunday evening around 6 and there was no line with several open tables. I ordered for pick up and it was about a 15-20 minute wait for the food

Do you guys offer party trays?

Are the vegetable dumplings vegan friendly? (Do they contain egg?)

    Do you take reservations?

On busy days you have to go in and get yourself on the waitlist. On normal days, yelp waitlist online works

The restaurant is a "family" place that is not fancy or upscale. You can bring kids, be loud, be casual. It's clean, but not TOO clean, if you know what I mean. I didn't knock off a star for that because it isn't classified under that type of venue. Shanghai Family Restaurant is ALL ABOUT THE FOOD! Please tell me how the pancake look brown and crispy on the outside and still comes out cold and not crispy at all. My nephew even said they weren't crispy and he's 3. The lady told us that the sauce on the inside was salty and that's why they don't give extra and man was she right. 1/5* The beef noodles soup itself flavor wise was good and portion wise it was good for $21, but my noodles had no chew to them at all. I was attempting to pick them up with chopsticks and they would just break into pieces. They do give a decent amount of beef though in this. 2.5/5* for the flavor but don't expect much from the noodles. Same thing went for the works, it was a peanut buttery sauce that the lady claimed wasn't spicy, but my parents noticed that it had a kick to it even though they asked for it not to be spicy. The egg is a nice touch but not too sure if it's worth the price. Noodle consistency was the same as the beef noodle soup. 2.5/5*
