Everything was delicious! The dumplings were fresh and flavorful, and the noodles were really tasty as well. The presentation was beautiful, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was friendly. Definitely a great spot for dumplings and noodles. I'll definitely come back!

saturday lunch in cupertino for a family of 3...2 adults and 1 child...dough zone located in the back of main street cupertino along vallco parkway...most of the street parking along the restaurants are taken by what appears to be doordash and other delivery drivers waiting for orders, but some parking available across the street...entered and seated without a wait...qr menu and phone ordering system, but had no at&t reception inside the restaurant...flagged down a staff to let them know...staff provided a paper menu with a pencil to mark the orders...browsed, marked and flagged the staff again to provide the order...green onion pancakes $4.65 was crispy, large and good...minced chicken noodles $8.30 had some pickled greens that mixed well with the small tasty bowl of noodles...xlb $10.50 was decent/average...boiled wonton in chicken soup $8 was small, but tasty...boiled pork wontons in hot & sour sauce $7.65 was the least favorite...soupy and just didn't like the taste...overall, all decent lunch for about $50 total for 3 people...

Good spot for dumplings, noodles, and sharing plates Had a meal at Dough Zone in Cupertino and ordered the Dan Dan noodles, pork xiao long bao, beef pancake roll, pan-fried dumplings, and pork wontons in chili sauce. The pork xiao long bao were thin-skinned, juicy, and packed with flavorful broth. The Dan Dan noodles were savory with a nice kick of spice and a satisfying chewy texture. The pork wontons in chili sauce were another favorite, with a silky wrapper and flavorful sauce that added just the right amount of heat. The beef pancake roll was crispy on the outside with tender beef inside, making it a good appetizer to share. The pan-fried dumplings had a nice crispy bottom and juicy filling, giving a great contrast in texture. Service was quick and efficient, and the food arrived surprisingly fast despite the restaurant being busy. The vibe is modern, casual, and lively, making it a great place for family meals, casual dinners, or catching up with friends. The menu has plenty of variety, so it's easy to order several dishes and share. Overall, a reliable spot for comforting Chinese noodles and dumplings.

Came here for a casual date night on a Friday. Place was pretty empty for a Friday which meant we got seated right away, and staff was friendly throughout. Portions run small so plan to order more than you think you need. Still a great value. For the food itself: The Dan Dan noodles are the move. Oily, salty, spicy, and the Sichuan peppercorns actually numb your face and stick around. Makes sense they're the most popular thing on the menu. Chicken xiao long bao were good but the broth inside was weak compared to other places I've had them. Still good though. Chicken potstickers were well executed, good crisp on the bottom, but nothing standout about them. Sweet and sour cucumber was a solid starter and looked nice, but the slices were too thick to actually be able to rip out. The egg fried rice is really good. Oilier than most but that's exactly why it works.

We came here for dinner on a Saturday and arrived by 5:30pm. There was no line, and we were seating right away. Service was nice and friendly from the start which was great. The tables and restaurant were clean and nicely spaced apart. You're able to have a conversation at a normal volume without feeling like people are sitting on top of each other. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back again. Ordering is done via your phone and QR code which I think is great. You're able to order at your own pace and see exactly what you've ordered. I believe each person at the table can also "contribute" to the same group order which is nice. We tried a variety of dishes including the XLB, pan fried pork buns, green onion pancake, chicken potstickers, pork wonton (chili sauce on the side), and beef pancake rolls. Everything was brought out quickly and tasted nice and fresh. There is one service experience where they went above and beyond. I accidentally dropped one of the beef pancake rolls on the floor. This was completely my fault. I felt terrible and profusely apologized for the mess that I made. As we were enjoying our other dishes, they were so kind and brought us another order of beef rolls which allowed each of us to try it. That was very kind of them, especially after the mess I made.

First time dining here. We were seated to our table and asked to scan the QR code for the menu. Unfortunately we did not have any cell reception so the menu could not be loaded. We asked for a physical menu instead. We were given a shee tof paper with menu items on both sides. Restaurant is not very big but it was spacious. Tables were a little closer together. They were out of a number of items today - the Q-Bao and the Chicken Xiao Long Bao. We ordered the Green Onion pancake, Pork & Shrimp Potstickers, Pork boiled wontons in chili sauce, sweet & sour cucumber, Pork and Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao and the Dough Zone signature fried rice. The food came out relatively fast. We enjoyed all of the items we ordered. The weakest dish was the signature fried rice. It was edible -was a little disappointing in the flavor department. It was just fried rice with some egg in it. I have had better tasting fried rice elsewhere. The marinated cucumber was interesting and delicious. Had a nice sweet, tangy and nice crunch. Presentation was also pleasing to the eye! Portion was generous. The Xiao Long Bao and the potstickers were delicious. The potstickers had a nice crunch and flavor. Service was pretty good. When you are finished with your meal, you go to the cashier and pay on your way out. Would definitely come back and try the other dishes.

It's alright. For this category of restaurant (buns and all), I feel like there's a lot to choose from and among its competition, it falls below average. Beef pancake rolls were kinda mid, I wish it had (more?) hoisin sauce. The pan fried pork buns weren't crispy enough and the bun texture is a bit meh. Wonton in chicken soup is a bit on the oily side. Service was fast and restaurant interior is modern.

Great dumplings, love their soup dumplings, their customer service is good too, they have always been friendly. We have been here a lot over the years; though recently tried taking it to go but it wasn't the same as dining in, and can't wait to come back for in person dining. Who doesn't love soup dumplings?! The interior can get super loud and busy! The lines can be long, but for a dumpling enthusiast, its not bad- but this isn't a spot to have deep conversations

A decent dumpling place with good dumpling staples at reasonable prices. The Chicken Potstickers are good. Nice crunch on the wrap, and tasty flavor of the meat. The Pork & Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao is okay. The broth inside the bao is mild and the meat inside was okay. I did like it more than the pork and shrimp. The Beef Noodles is okay too. Mild beef broth, with good noodles and okay beef meat Lastly, I tried the Sweet & Sour Cucumber. It's a good tasty crunch in between baos and dumplings. The balance of the sweet and sour is pretty good. The cut of the cucumbers is fun. There is a waitlist system and the wait can be long during busy hours. But once you're seated, you just scan the QR for the menu and order, and the service is fast. The restaurant is modern with cozy yellow lights. The prices are reasonable. You get good amount of food and the price points are usually $10 and below per dish. Overall it's a decent go-to place for dumplings and baos.

Play go to place when ordering soup dumplings whether I'm craving them, I'm sick, or I'm hung over. They never disappoint. I'm a big fan of their pork dumplings and their damn noodles plus they're green onion cakes. The service is always quick and friendly. I enjoy coming here by myself.

The food presentation is excellent and looks great, the service is attentive, and I'll definitely be back. The store's environment is nice.

Stopped by Dough Zone in Cupertino for lunch on Christmas Day and were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't busy. We've been here many times before, but this visit felt a bit different from our usual experiences. There was plenty of seating available for parties of four or less, but the seating layout itself felt tight. Even at an average height, the tables and spacing leave you feeling a bit cramped and squished, which made the dining experience less comfortable than expected. Service was average--not especially attentive or helpful. Cell service inside the restaurant is poor, which made their QR-code ordering system frustrating and ineffective. When we asked for a paper menu so we could check off what we wanted, our server gave us some pushback. As usual, the portions fit the price point: smaller servings, but expected given the lower per-dish cost. Overall, the food was consistent with past visits, but the service, seating comfort, and ordering process made this visit less enjoyable than previous ones.

Went here with my sister for lunch and had a good experience. Half the restaurant was filled, and we were seated promptly after arriving. The interior was clean, nice for a casual lunch. You have the option to order with the paper menu or QR code, but the wifi was weak which made it difficult to order by phone. After ordering, the food arrived quickly but most of the dishes were warm, not hot, so that was disappointing. The flavor and texture was good. The service was okay. The experience overall was good (I would come back), but nothing mindblowing.

We ended up being seated in the far back of the restaurant, right in front of the kitchen and where all the staff handle the plates. It is not a good location to be seated because it was loud at times from the clinking of the plates from the staff. The food came out instantly after we placed our order. It was super fresh and piping hot. We got a variety of dim sums and a beef chow fun. The dim sum is decent and comparable to other places I have eaten at. The ones that stood out were the beef rice rolls and pan fried chive and shrimp dumplings. Unfortunately, the beef chow fun was our least favorite because it lacked flavor. Some of the staff are kind of rude too. I asked for our tea because it was taking a long time to arrive and she glared at me and didn't give me a response. Also, when it came time for the bill, one of the staff lingered around our table to watch us tip. Parking can be difficult as they have a small lot. By the time we arrived past 1pm, it was completely filled and we just so happened to get lucky with one empty spot remaining.

The restaurant wasn't too big, and it was pretty noisy inside. Decor and service was typical of a Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area. Their tea was more diluted than other places, though. The tea pot design was pretty bad that no matter how careful I tried to pour the tea, I got tea leaking all over. It's good that they had a disposable plastic cover on top of the table cloth. We ordered our dim sum off a sheet, but they also brought out quite a lot of specials on trays, and there's a sweet tofu cart being pushed around as well. The dim sum themselves were just mediocre, and not very flavorful. The Peking Duck special only came with 4 pieces of thick bun with one or 2 pieces of duck inside. The duck was chewy and not authentic Peking duck. Our daughter liked it, though. The Chinese Broccoli was cooked well, but the oyster sauce was pretty low quality and very salty. The Soy Sauce Chow Mein was very dry, which was better than oily, but lacked flavor. The Deep Fried Taro was kind of bland. Part of the head of the Mango Pudding fish fell onto the floor as the server was setting the plate on our table. Taste was normal, as were the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns. The beef inside the Beef Rice Noodle Roll had chewy bits of connective tissue. We're all disappointed with their food quality and would rather go to a different dim sum place next time.

I noticed even with more people coming in, they took orders quick and were able to serve them almost instantly. It looks like they take catering as well. My hubby and I got an order of the siu mai ($6.15 for 3 pieces), har gow ($6.15 for 3), BBQ pork bun (~$3 for 1), and the black bean spare beans ($6.15). Prices were fairly decent and the portion sizes were fairly big! The siu mai was a bit sweeter than I normally like, but I liked the size of them. Har gow was fresh (it did come out 5-10 mins after we sat down) and was actually very plump and the skin was easy to eat (most places the skin falls apart). BBQ pork bun was also very good - can't go wrong with a simple bun. Black bean spare-ribs were just OK, definitely could be better as it felt too garlicky and most of it was fat. I am deducting a star mostly due to the food not being as hot. Since we were able to eat right away, we were hoping the food would be fresh/hot but the siu mai and spare-ribs were just very lukewarm. I would most likely come back but bring home our items to microwave and enjoy at home.

Definitely would get again. - Yi-Lan green onion pancake: Crispy pancakes and it looks so simple but was really good nonetheless. - Boiled tofu with house special sauce: Tofu was cooked very well and the sauce is on the sweeter side. I would also get this again. Overall I really enjoyed all the dishes and I would 10/10 come back and eat them again. The prices are all very affordable too for the amount that you get.

Great service and food! Shao long bao and duck never misses…read more A new flavor I hadn't tried before was the crispy pastries w/ salted egg yolk. This was definitely unique with texture and flavor from first bite to last but the gooey sweet rich taste at the bottom of the pastry was delicious! This one was tricky…read more If I am only judging the food, I'd give it over four stars. Everything tasted delicious. But there's two things that hold the rating down - value for money, and customer service. First the concept - This is a "nice" Chinese restaurant that's part of the Koi Palace restaurant group, which includes Koi Palace restaurants but also dim sum restaurant Dragon Beaux and Palette Tea House. This restaurant was originally described as a "best of" concept, mixing dishes from all of their restaurants. I can't say it's super clear to me which dishes come from where, but they definitely have a good variety of both dim sum dishes and entrees. Service - the service here is absolutely terrible. I normally don't mind a restaurant that charges a fixed service charge vs. letting people leave a tip, but it feels like this restaurant's staff have chosen to put in the bare minimum of effort since the tip is automatically included. I saw four well dressed staff talking around the register area and yet none could be flagged down to help. A single, overworked busboy+runner seemed to be the only staff member actually getting food to tables and helping. I had to get up and ask for soy sauce for the dim sum, and even then the wait staff brushed me off as if they were too busy to help, only to have that harried busboy finally come up and ask what I needed. Seriously, Koi Palace Contempo. Hire some good staff. This is the worst service I've had at a restaurant in the Bay Area in years. Due to the slow service, the pacing of food coming out of the kitchen was hit or miss. Dim sum dishes came out promptly on a Friday at lunch time, but entrees took nearly an *hour* to be served. The restaurant wasn't full, so I'm not sure why everything was so slow. That said, the dim sum and the entrees we ordered were delicious. Finally, let's talk price. You're paying a premium for a name here, as well as a posh location in Cupertino Main Street, next to Alexander's Steakhouse. The portions were average and the quality was good, but the value for money is iffy at best and compounded with the bad service, drags down the score. Would I eat here again? If I had hours to kill and wasn't too hungry, and just wanted to chill with friends, honestly maybe. But there's better ways to spend your time...and money.
