My basic breakfast, great griddle biscuit and cinnamon roll
    TJ H.

I was visiting with a friend. We met a gentleman who recommended this place. Now we know why! Many foods made from scratch. When it's your first time, they FORCE FEED you a cinnamon roll. It was really good! Please force feed me more. Just a good down home cooking restaurant. We were there for breakfast. The best meal of the day.

I think this place is great. I've been here a number of times and each and every time it has not disappointed. The breakfast food is awesome, and their portions are huge so make sure you come hungry. They have a lot of great options from sweet to savory, to loads of meat, to eggs on eggs on eggs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My kids love this place as well which is a bonus because they tend to be pretty picky eaters.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've never been sad with what I've ordered but my favorite is most likely the Papas (Cowboy).

We had a party of 11. They accommodated us quickly and the service was amazing. The food was delicious. Highly recommend The biscuits were so tasty. They are crispy on the outside and the sausage patios were the best. Will be back for sure

OMG!!! Looking to absolutely send you tastbuds to the moon? You have to come to Doug's Diner. I got the Colorado bison burger (locally sourced meat) and it did not disappoint. Was skeptical with the grape jelly on top but thought "welp, when in Thornton!" Perfectly cooked and super tasty. I would have paid 50$ for this burger. We also had the hillbilly breakfast, which came with a godly amount of biscuits and gravy, 3 eggs and bacon that tasted like a ribeye steak. Our serve Selena was very friendly and super on top of everything. You need to stop here if you're in Thornton/Denver area!! 1 million stars

    We're here & we're hungry !

Solid menu , great prices for a local diner in 2025 ! Food came out fairly fast as well. And I like that menu wise they do what they want and not what everyone else is doing. Almost reminded me of everything cracker barrells restaurant wanted to be . But just outshines them by miles flavor wise.

It was my first time here and the food was delicious! It was plentiful and the service was amazing. Even on a weekend the wait wasn't long at all. The waitress had us seated fairly quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place and great food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be back.

This is a great brunch place in the area and worth the wait. We came in around 9:30 to beat the crowd. I do think they can fit more people in if they break up some of the tables since they don't really have two tops. Their staff is mainly friendly and helpful. The food is what makes us coming back. The food is fresh and homemade. The homemade jams are a must try along with the griddle biscuits. The side of tomato with the pesto was also really good, and a great alternative to more carbs.

Fantastic food and service! The Frontier burger is legit - everything else was wonderful and a great value for the price!

I only gave it 4 starts because the lace is just too small , I don't like waiting to eat good food-especially when I'm hungry .

Ask the Community - Doug's Diner - Thornton

Can I make a reservation, need to" hash" things out with a friend wondering if I can elect a time to sit down?

Unfortunately no, they are a first come first serve restaurant.

Do they offer an gluten free substitutions or accommodations?

Yes! Gluten free bread is an option for sandwiches and burgers, and there is gluten free French toast as well (not pancakes however). If you get something with their green Chile, they have a gluten free (vegetarian as well!) option.

    Is breakfast served all day?

Yes! They are so awesome here you can pretty much customize and ask for anything you want!

They have a ton of different burger options and they all sounded so good. From mushroom burgers to bisons to ones that had so much bacon on it, you really can't go wrong here! Came in to pick up and service was pretty quick. They pointed me in the right direction. Not enough interactions to give them a rating. The restaurant and bar was popping. It was busy on this Friday night around 8pm. About 3/4 full. It was sorta loud but good energy. I think I would have preferred to eat in rather than take out. I ordered sweet potato fries (you can sub them out for others like onion rings or truffle fries etc) with my short rib stacker burger. The burger was on point. The fries, maybe because they were cold by time I ate them, were disappointing. The herb infused cream cheese was the cherry on top. The braised short rib wasn't as juicy and I'd never order it separately but together, it made for a pretty good burger. I also had the Brie and bacon bites which are crispy pastry bites stuffed with brie cheese & applewood-smoked bacon. They dust then with powdered sugar which I thought was okay. It is served with housemade cranberry cream sauce. They have multiple locations it turns out. So if you don't pop by this one, don't fret, there are others!

Seating for 6 at best and mostly a counter and a kitchen. Is this in a location that is just a little unexposed to drive by traffic, yes. It is off Sheridan and 10th Ave between apartment buildings and houses not what you expect. As I drove up to the location it is in a building with an off brand convenience store and a dry cleaners with no other businesses nearby. It's not real inviting from the exterior or even the interior as far as that goes. This is a classic case of " don't judge a book by It's cover " or you'll be missing out on a real gem for customer service and tasty eats. We were greeted upon arrival by a very pleasant lady behind the counter. We took one of the three small empty tables and studied the menu. You order at the counter and most of the customer traffic while we were there was Doordash type orders and the to go orders were steady. My son ordered three tacos and a bottle of Coke. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon as the protein and smothered with green chili. This is rare but my son raved about the tacos, not just that they were good. He stated that he would definitely be returning to repeat the experience. He said he could taste every ingredient used to make his tacos. My breakfast burrito was very tasty, every ingredient was cooked to my expectation. The eggs were fluffy, bacon crispy but not burnt and the hash browns cooked to perfection. The star of this dish for me was the green chili that smothered an already delicious breakfast burrito. We both agreed this was one of the best lunches we have enjoyed over the years. Don't be put off by the location or the exterior, its worth a visit. The service was good, food was excellent, the place was clean and the prices were reasonable. I don't know the story behind this restaurant but I hope going forward they get good business demand because good food and good service should be appreciated. In the last three or more years service has certainly declined and good food is harder to find at reasonable prices. I will be back when I am in the area to try other dishes and my son who lives not too far away says it is his new taco place. I would invite other Yelper's to give it a try.

That's exactly what happened at the Magic food bus Chef Gary & Ashley were some of the nicest, most welcoming owners I've met. The passion and care they put into their food is palpable, making the meal even more enjoyable. What I ordered: Green Chili Cheesesteak, MFBUS Smashed Burger, MFBUS Hot Chicken Sandwich, Colorado Burrito, Truffle Parmesan Brussels Sprouts, Fries. Best bite: I texted a friend after my second bite of the cheesesteak, and I'm quoting myself here: "I think I just had the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had." The name may have been wrong, but the taste was correct! Perfectly cooked beef, Colorado green chilis, and an amoroso bun that altogether made the perfect bite. The hot chicken sandwich was top tier, with the perfect amount of spice without sacrificing flavor (my biggest pet peeve with spicy food). The smashed burger? Easily in my top 5 (maybe top 3?) in Denver Metro. And that burrito--WOW. Perfectly cooked steak, fresh smashed avocado, and a cheese-crusted tortilla. 10/10, no notes.
