I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Dr. Gerosa and his office has been absolutely unacceptable and extremely frustrating. I went in for a routine visit with no pain, and I was told I needed two fillings. After having both fillings done, both sides of my mouth became extremely sensitive and difficult to chew on for several weeks with no improvement. I returned for a follow-up to address the issue, expecting a professional assessment and solution. Instead, Dr. Gerosa tried to deflect blame onto other parts of my mouth, rather than acknowledging that the work he performed might need adjustment. After a back-and-forth, he reluctantly redid one side, which drastically improved my discomfort, essentially proving that his work was the problem -- but he refused to redo the second side, leaving me unable to chew properly on half of my mouth. When I asked if I would be billed for this redo, I was assured I would not be, yet the office went ahead and billed my insurance anyway. Because of this, I cannot even get a second opinion, as both of my annual exams have now been used up until February of next year! I have been trying for months to get this claim corrected. I have emailed multiple times and even sent multiple texts; they attempted to fix it ONCE but did it incorrectly, and since then, they have completely ghosted me. No follow-up, no resolution, and no accountability, no response at all. The level of unprofessionalism here is staggering. Ignoring a patient's ongoing pain, refusing to acknowledge mistakes, and then ghosting repeated attempts at resolution is beyond negligent. To add to all this (prior to these issues) I referred a coworker here who had the SAME EXACT THING HAPPEN. She went in with zero pain, had to go back 4-5 times for repeat work and still cannot chew on that side of her mouth. This is not a coincidence! Do not trust this office with your dental care. I am left with a half-functional mouth and no way to resolve this because of their incompetence and disregard for patient care. read more

I can't say enough positive words for the care that Dr. Derosa and his Outstanding Dental team provided for my daughter. It was BY FAR THE BEST DENTAL EXPERIENCE any person could hope for. It was actually the first time I had no issue with any costs associated with dental care, because we all know how much those uncomfortable cost can be. However, Dr Derosa made me feel like my daughter feel comfortable, he allowed me to sit by her side, his procedures were efficient, detailed and his assistant Jessie. Worked as one unit as they danced around her effortlessly. Dr. Derosa provided education to me as he worked on my daughter and kept me informed of the steps and tools and sealants he utilized as he went along. It was an extremely pleasant experience. Been coming here for a few years now and it's always a pleasant experience, as pleasant as going to the dentist can be anyway. It's located at the top of the tall corner building, and you can either park in the garage (get validation after) or on the street. I never had a problem finding street parking. The location is convenient and allows me hop over to TJ after for some groceries. Just got my fillings replaced with composites, white ones, and have had other fillings and I don't feel a thing. I usually am so afraid of the anesthesia part because I can feel needle entering my gums. I love the numbing gel I get before the actual anesthesia. The cringe and painfulness of the needle all goes away! It's amazing, this is the only place that I know to use this and I'm not sure why I haven't experienced it before. Dr. Gerosa is extremely gentle and highly skilled. He goes over the treatment plan with you and doesn't make you feel like he's pushing you to get more care than you need; but sufficient to maintain a good oral health. Also the RDA, Joel, is on top of his suctioning duties - I don't ever feel like I'm swallowing all the dirt and residues while they're working on me. I also am happy with the hygienist, Jack's, work and always walk away with a really good cleaning that I feel motivated to keep it that way until the next cleaning. Definitely going to continue my dental care here. I'm also pleased that I get an email and text reminder for my appointment, and the office keeps their patients updated on hours as the world keeps changing. They will harass you almost everyday to book an appointment. They will call, text and email you every other day pressuring you to schedule an appointment, at one point I had to block their number. After being pressured, I finally scheduled an appointment but the morning of, I needed to reschedule my appointment for a later time due to a work conflict. I was informed that if you cancel less than 48 hours before your appointment, they will charge you $75. When booking my appointment they did not inform me of this policy all they cared about was my insurance and how much my appointment was going to cost. I've been a patient at Dove Dental Spa since 2009. Five years ago I would have given them four or five stars (I actually thought I had written a review of the place but I guess not). Anyway, I really liked the service I received and Dr. Gerosa seems to know what he's talking about. In fact, I haven't really had any problems with him as a person. However...I'm changing dentists and it's for a pretty simple reason. They are way too salesy here. Everything is always an upsell. I was grinding my teeth after I went through a breakup, and I went in and asked for a recommended brand of a mouth guard I could wear at night. They recommended something that cost like $500. Eff that. I got one for $20 and when the grinding stopped two weeks later, I threw it out. I've had cavities show up during an x-ray even though I felt no pain at all. They'd schedule me for a filling. I'd go in, get the work done, THEN I would feel the pain. I think once I had to go back four times to get the thing set right. This happened on a few different occasions. There's some weirdness that they pull when the calendar year is closing and you need some work done. I'm not sure I fully understand what they do but I am pretty sure they are not supposed to be doing it. All of that is weird but I kept on going because I was too lazy to go somewhere else. Last December they told me I needed a few fillings. I think I have run out of teeth to put fillings into so I decided to go somewhere else. I cancelled any future appointments and I figured that was that.. Noooooope. They call me like a girl that doesn't get the hint. No joke. It's crazy. I started looking at how often they call me and I am almost offended at the frequency. Last week, they called me 14 times in a three day span - on my mobile alone. They called my office line a few more times as well. 14?! Is my mouth a bomb? What is so urgent that you have to call me this much?! I used to just delete the voicemails but out of curiosity I listened to one the other day to see why the hell they were calling me so much. It was an offer for teeth whitening. read more

I had a root canal and crown done here once and they completely botched it. My tooth ended up having to get removed a couple of years later because of the sh*t job done here. To add insult to injury, the husband and wife team here both came in angry and blabbing about how people with hmo are a waste of their time and ranted on and on about ppo etc... These clowns are definitely in it for the money and not for your oral health. Look elsewhere unless you like botched dental jobs and disrespectful business owners. read more

I love Dr. Warren. I had an emergency Dental procedure due to my own fault that ended me up in the ER over the weekend. I called my Old dentist and he told me that even though it was an Emergency, he was totally booked and unavailable. Considering I was in pain, it amplified the situation until my freind heard what was happening and told me about how compassionate and empathetic and professional Dr. Warren is. I called, and got an appointment right away when I told them I was in pain. The entire Dove Dental staff and Dr. Warren greeted and treated me on arrival and got me healthy again ASAP. Not flexible with their patients which shows it's all about the money. If you cancel an appointment less than 48 hours it's $100. They don't care if you're sick or can't get the time off work. I was told, "I'm only here for 15 more minutes and there is no way I can find another patient to fill that spot." They are not open on Saturday which would help with those that have children and jobs. I've also noticed that they are overcharging me when I compare my EOB and their bills. I didn't choose this dentist, my dentist that I LOVED passed away and somehow this office received his patients. Although the staff is very friendly, I'm unsure about the quality of work. Came in for 2 fillings, I had no sensitivity! After two visits to fix the problem, I still have extreme sensitivity where the two fillings were done. So sensitive, I do not enjoy eating as much and have lost five pounds. I called the dentist last week and no response. At this point I'm looking for a new dentist who accepts Aetna HMO. Recommendations welcome. read more

When a patient( me) has concerns of their porcelain veneer covered tooth darkening over time, Wouldn't a proper dentist be concerned with a patient issue as such? My uncle Warren didn't pay any mind to my concerns of a non-aesthetic smile. I asked about a proper implant, he brushed off the idea as I'm sure he thought I'm looking for a handout. My mentality is as such: I go to my uncle for dentistry work because he is family and I support my family, it was never about "a discount." BUT When your subordinate is helping you re-attach a veneer and offers white cement adhesive (TWO TIMES) to adjust for color darkening of a dead tooth with a cap (as I've expressed my concerns), should it be considered SHADY if the dentist denies a subordinates request for white cement and after two times says "give me the clear" when I EXPLICITLY expressed concerns of darkening, there is something VERY SHADY going on. I love Dr. Gerosa... the man is an artist... I told him last week he was the "Da Vinci" of Dentists... A few years ago, I went to another dentist who was in Beverly Hills... she was good... but she put in a cap that was too big... and it ended up putting enough pressure on another tooth to break it... I had mentioned that there was a problem long before the tooth broke but was informed that it was normal... when the tooth broke, I called her... but she had retired... so... being the kind of crazy guy that I am... I just kind of did nothing.... for a couple of years... anyways... when I got to Dr. Gerosa... I was a little skidish. He informed me that I had a number of things that had to be take care of... Being skiddish... I took the list and went to another dentist... and he told me I had a number of things that needed to be taken care of... So I went back to Dr. Gerosa... now three teeth later, I am beginning to see the light of day... First, he does great root canals... absolutely no pain... none... and I could talk afterwards... plus he stated that he saves as much of the root as possible. Second, he is open, informative and have a great positive manner. Third, his staff is great... every single one of them is pleasant and helpful. Fourth, the office is pleasant and relaxing. I was referred to Dr. Gerosa by my friend (who also happens to be his wife). I state this upfront because I want full disclosure and I think it's important to be honest. Now that being said, Dr. Gerosa is amazing. I searched for a dentist in LA for over 6 years....and it is a true rarity to find a dentist in LA who is not trying to sell you cosmetic work or push you to buy the newest "miracle" treatment. Dr. Gerosa does not do this. He is honest, straight forward, and has magical hands. His staff, in particular Katie (reception) and Luis & Jackie (dental hygienists) are the best I have ever had. If I did not have to give one star I would not. Went in as a new patient and was greeted nicely. I was using my new insurance for my annual cleaning. All good. I am very very meticulous about my teeth and go for cleanings every 4 months. This was the first time for me to see this new dentist named GEROSA. The X-Rays took some time which I have no problem with and the machines he has and uses look quite old. Still it's OK. GEROSA comes in and was charming as if you could actually trust the guy. He did my cleaning and did his inspection as we chatted then told me I had 4 cavities. I was shocked as I go to the dentist every 4 months, which obviously he had no clue of. My dentist prior who I saw 4 months ago before I moved to Los Angeles never mentioned anything but positives about my teeth and gums. Suddenly GEROSA tells me about all the work that is needed and simply cant wait. I thought wow could that much damage happen in 4 months? Things just sounded shady to say the least. I decided to get a second opinion with a reputable dentist. I phoned GEROSA'S office for my X-Rays which they would not relinquish nor transfer without a fee. I decided to pay out of pocket and obtain new X-rays with state of the art equipment and sure and behold I do not have cavities not a single one. GEROSA"S office called me "3" times asking me to come in as soon as possible to do a "recall on x-rays" EXACT WORDS whatever that means. Maybe he needs to update his old fashioned equipment to take more accurate X-Rays? I refused. I obtained new X-Rays and paid out of pocket with no cavities...go figure! I have never had in all my years of going to the dentist such a horrid and dishonest experience. I find it fraudulent and it's unjust to want to collect money in such a dishonest way. Im not the first to complain and I will not be the last. But if I can warn you be prepared to deal with a dishonest dentist. He is an example of why we pay such high insurance premiums as GEROSA feeds off the system. read more

I have always been complimented on my teeth... The coloring of my teeth, etc. I have gone to my family dentist for AGES!!! She just so happened to not accept my new insurance... She took awesome care of my teeth and I trust her... HOWEVER, this dentist???? Gave me a treatment plan showing that I had a mouth full of horror!!! $3,000 in co-pays... I forwarded the treatment plan to my former dentist and she told me this was FRAUDULENT!!! That there was no way my teeth required all the work he listed........ I've been coming to Dove Dental for a long time now and I can honestly say that this is the best dental office I have ever been to. The service is unmatched, every time I come in I am greeted by the friendly staff and they make me feel like I am at home. I actually look forward to going to the dentist. Dr. Gerosa and his staff have definitely helped maintain my family and my dental health at a very high level. Their recommendations on how to best take care of our teeth are immeasurable, I haven't had a cavity in over 15 years. When my kids were younger they dreaded going to the dentist, but when I started taking them to Dove Dental it all changed. The staff would treat them with such care that they weren't afraid of dentists anymore. To calm my 5 year old one time a staff member sat on the floor with her, gave her a teddy bear and played with her until she calmed down. I travel two hours to Dove Dental Spa for all my dental needs. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The environment is relxing (I had a warm, soft blanket and a massage chair during my visit) TV is available but I chose the spa music instead. I have never felt the needle from anesthesia because Dr. Gerosa is careful to apply a topical anesthetic first! My crowns, fillings, and now cosmetic work is painless, and beautiful...love the results...makes me keep wanting to come back for more.z(have you ever hear that about a dentist office?) Has a Dentist ever refused to clean your teeth?I went to this office for about 6 yrs for regular cleanings and maintence. A few weeks ago I canceled an appointment for a filling but kept the appointment for a cleaning. I was seated in a chair and in came Dr. Salesmam Gerosa. I told him that I only had time for a cleaning that day. He said okay and that he was just going to take a look at my teath. And so the sales pitch began. He started with pockets in my gums, tarter, old fillings, Bone deteration and almost everything you could imagine. I repeated that I had only made an appointment for a cleaning. He told me that the girls in the office couldn't decide what i need because he was the dentist. I asked him to proceed with the cleaning and he refused. He said it wouldn't do any good to do a regular cleaning. He was rude and obviously mad that he couldn't make the extra money on me that day. I imediately made an appointment with another dentist a few days later. My teath were cleaned, no sales pitch and I was assured that I wouldn't be spitting out my teeth anytime soon. Sell, Sell, Sell. Hygienist (Asian dude) total asshat with crazy ego that you would have thought that not only was he an actual dentist but that he was the best dentist in Los Angeles. Stick to your job jackass and let the Dr. deal with the patient. First of all the office is extremely out dated, smells bad and annoying music. The assistant couldn't get the computer working while the hygienist was doing my exam, so the hygienist takes his hands out of my mouth and starts trying to reboot the computer and then tries to put his hands back in my mouth without changing his gloves. When I asked him if he thought he should change his gloves before continuing, his response was "Dirty gloves in your mouth are the least of your problems" ... seriously? If that wasn't enough, They said that because I don't floss often, I lack commitment to my teeth and they would only clean half of my teeth and I would have to come back in 4 weeks and they would check to see if I had been flossing. If I had done "my part" they would then finish. Pathetic attempt at milking for the office visit $$. I got out of the chair and left. This place is horrific and sad. Think twice about going here! The way they talk to patience is completely unacceptable and I'm very surprised that someone hasn't knocked out this hygienist teeth! This office was abnormally not busy.
