Was looking forward for a new favorite place since we like "small plate" or "tapa" type dinners but no unfortunately. Service staff geared toward moving you on; don't like service staff leaning on the table over you. Not a fan of open kitchens where you can smell everything and hear the clanging and banging. Seats uncomfortable and close (my hearing aids picked up every conversation around me). High ambient noise. Eclectic menu though we found our selections dry and under seasoned. We thought their place in Goldendale was better and we don't like debating with the owner on taste after paying ($100+) and looking to leave. read more

Attended the TriCities Geocoin Challenge and was able to try this wonderful fare right after we finished the long day of geocaching. I had Chickpea Curry with basamati rice and Indian Slaw and it was WONDERFUL! Reminded me of a butter chicken I made a couple months back. SO GOOD and so much food that I had to take some back to the hotel. I also had a Pok Pok Som pineapple drinking vinegar. That was quite refreshing and I could drink that all day long! My husband ordered the meatball sub and we were both impressed. The entire menu looked so good, I wish we could have tried it all! I hope to see them next year. Absolutely incredible food! They have rotating menus for insanely affordable prices (like $6-10 for an entree). Ive tried their tacos, shrimp, and this awesome African pork/mango/rice dish. If you're not looking to break the bank and want a superb culinary experience, this is the place for you! If you do order alcohol, the bill will come out to a normal restaurants, but if you have happy hour at home, this will be a very inexpensive and satisfying meal! read more

I WAS ASKED FOR VACCINATION CARD BEFORE I COULD EAT!!! My wife and I were dressed up for a nice dinner, although we live about 30 minutes out of town, during this pandemic we have made sure that we support the local restaurants as much as we could, we like to try different restaurants to help everyone. My wife and I are fully vaccinated, and wear our N95 masks everywhere we go. That being said, they told us that before seating us down we needed to show our proof of vaccination. WTF, I am in Seattle all the time and not once I was asked for that, and talking Seattle where people wear their masks in their car by themselves and on empty streets, that says a lot . It is not a local, state, or federal mandate. I had pictures in my phone of the vaccination cards of my wife and I because they ask for them when I go to my country of Mexico often; however, I apologized to my wife and I refused to show it and eat in a place where they would do that. It has been known for a long time now that vaccines do not stop people from getting COVID, or spreading it, only helps with the effect on ourselves, but I guess what this restaurant is saying is that they prefer getting infected of COVID from vaccinated carriers than unvaccinated ones. This does not make any sense. We ended up eating in Frost Me Sweet as they never let us down. read more

My wife and I stopped by last Saturday after hearing about this place from friends. It's a cute space in a an old strip mall in Richland and you need to pay attention the first time you go because their sign is not prominent. We were pleasantly greeted and seated right away. So far so good. We ordered two small plates, one of which was the best treatment of mushrooms we've ever eaten. Forest mushrooms cooked in some kind of delicious broth and served with toasted baguette- yum. Next time we go we might get two orders. My wife had a gnocchi dish and I had the African peanut curry. Both were delicious. I only have two critiques for the restaurant: 1) it's really noisy in there and 2) everything you sit on is hard and uncomfortable. For both those reasons you may not want to linger or have a quiet romantic dinner there, but for some casual dining, it is a good choice. They also have a reasonable corkage fee if you bring your own bottle of wine. With the noted exceptions, we liked this place quite a lot and plan to return with bottle of wine in hand in the future. read more

Great food truck, they are at PNNL on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and over at 2400 Stevens on Thursdays. I really like everything on the menu, standouts for me are the fish tacos, the gumbo, the chickpea curry, the risotto cakes with succotash, and when they have them, quesadillas. Also like the home-made ginger soda drink. The menu changes a bit with the seasons to take advantage of local fresh produce. Frequently when we have the Farmer's Market on Tuesdays, Dovetail Joint will have something on the menu made from the fresh fruits and vegetables right there. They are planning to open a "brick and mortar" location in the Uptown, where they will have dinner as well as lunch. read more

We were in town for the Tri Cities Geocoin Challenge, and this was one of the food truck vendors on site. The wonderful aromas drifting out of the mobile kitchen was enough to kickstart almost any appetite, and the flavors offered did NOT disappoint. Portions were HUGE, and prices not excessive. They had no problems keeping up with the long line of hungry customers, and wait times did not seem too long. Hope to cross paths with this venue next time we are in town, as it is AWESOME, and left us craving another go at the menu for other tasty items. Loved the wooden utensils. read more
