I've been a customer of Downey Nissan since they opened their doors in Downey back in 2009. Most of my experience has been with their service team and let me just say that everyone that I have dealt with has done an exceptional job of helping me get my vehicle repaired, as well as being clear on any necessary repairs, why the repairs are necessary, and the cost. The Downey Nissan Service Department Team has a lot of great people that really care about the customers. Ricardo, Joni, Randy, Steve, and Jessica are all great. And because they do a great job of servicing Nissan vehicles, it's only expected that the Service Department is going to be regularly busy because I am pretty sure that their excellent reputation is well known with other Nissan owners. . When getting your car serviced, it's important to remember that this is not Jiffy Lube. No, instead Downey Nissan's Service Team consists of highly trained individuals who are diligently working to repair and or diagnose the problems of fellow Nissan owners, as well as perform regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc. As such, when you take your vehicle in, expect that the team is going to take care of your needs and you can either sit in the comfortable lounge eating complimentary donuts/bagels while drinking coffee/tea, or you can utilize their free shuttle service to take you home. If there is an issue with the repair or procedure that is being done on your vehicle, the Service Advisors do a great job of following up with the customer to let them know of any unexpected issues that may come up as well as providing updates on a completion of service. I highly recommend that any current Nissan owner who needs quality work done, visit Downey Nissan's Service Department. Not only does Downey Nissan have a fantastic service department, they also have something unique and special when it comes to their sales team. Before I purchased my 2013 Nissan Rogue, my experience with car sales people has been poor because I've always dealt with disrespectful and dishonest people who would say anything just to get me to purchase a vehicle. Well at Downey Nissan, I met with Oscar who walked me through the process of trading in my 2005 Nissan Altima for my new Rogue and the experience nothing short of professional. I would like to start this review with saying the service was unexpectedly horrid. In fact I have been car shopping for about the past 4 months, and I can with no doubt that this was by far the worst experience. We all know salesmen of all kind are pushy and sometimes annoying but there is a point where you draw the line between convincing someone to make a purchase and harassment. Jorge the finance man seemed to make it a goal to go way past this line. Jorge was very unprofessional, made me very uncomfortable, and was extremely insulting to work with. I came in today looking to buy a brand new car for my family, unfortunately I had the awful luck of having Jorge as my finance helper. He was very rude with an attitude and temperament problem (which seems very inappropriate considering he was hired to work at job position in which he would be interacting with people, of course anyone could realize that it is not the best fit for someone like that to be working in customer service) He seemed unstable and became jaunty when it came to me asking about additional charges we had not discussed. He continuously insisted that I sign the paperwork and only then he would explain afterwards because according to him "those numbers don't really matter right now, we can work something out afterwards"(obviously for anyone who knows anything you never sign without knowing what you're signing for.) I was straightforward and informed him that I would not be moving forward with buying this car if I was going to be harassed by him into purchasing it. As I was leaving the parking lot he became defensive and began to shout nonsense numbers and changes he could make to coerce me into making this purchase. I kept walking to my car as I was done dealing with this nonsense, surprisingly he came right up to my window and began cussing me out saying, something along the lines of "f*** off, you weren't even worth my time". I am not someone to normally write reviews but this was too bad an experience that I felt it could not go unaddressed. and I am shockingly writing this, seeing as my brother in law said he had a decent experience, but then again he probably got lucky enough to not have to put up with Jorge's customer "service". Ok - I bought a new Altima today..stone blue with the works. I read allllllllllllllllll the reviews on here before I went in...FROM GLENDALE...all the way to Downey, and I spoke with the Internet manager, David Scott, and told him some of my conerns, namely the stuff I read on here. David listened to each of my points and explained his point of view on each. As he was very well spoken and patient, he made me see that there definitely are 2-sides to every story....as for some of the stuff, he just admitted that "those problems have been solved" - I love that kind of intellectual honesty... So I went in and met with him and the internet director, Sam. I admit, I walked in with a nice sized chip on my shoulder, ready to throw down...especially since I did a TON of homework and walked in with my iPad ready to rock. Sam asked me about myself, we talked about our backgrounds, where we're both from and what questions I had. I let him have it.....I opened up Yelp and read a good number of the negative reviews to him.....we went through each one in detail....for the ones that Downey Nissan was at fault, he explained what had happened and how they went about fixing the issue/problem.....for the other far-fetched ones, he gave me general info about what had truly happened, the unrealistic expectations of the potential customers and the unfortunate behavior they displayed prior to coming on here and bitching unfairly....shame on you douches. I went in at 10:20 this morning....I started chatting with David and Sam at 10:25.....I started negotiating at 10:50-ish, after picking the exact Altima I'd come for....I left the dealership at 12:20 in my brand new, fully-loaded, fully-detailed, BADASS Altima.... I could not be happier with the experience... I could not be happier with the FANTASTIC deal I got.... I could not be happier with the service and proffesionalism..... I will be referring Downey Nissan to friends & family.... I will be going back for my next ride.... I do not agree with the LAME reviews on here... I am from the central valley (Fresno Area) and after weeks of dealing with shady Nissan dealerships in my area I was placed in contact with Sergey Ulchenko at Downey Nissan through the Consumer Report car buying program. The deal sounded way too good to be true when I was given the offer and in all honesty I figured I was going to get the bait and switch. I spoke with Sergey over a few days and he was well aware I was unable to make it down right away and he assured me he would hold the car for me. I frequently sent him questions via text and he quickly answered them. He sent me photographs of of the vehicle and the questions he answered were thorough. I received a break down of the price and rebates I would be receiving along with the finance I requested. Sergey said everything would be prepared by the time I arrived. I drove 3 1/2 hours to Downey Nissan thinking the whole time I was more than likely dealing with just another dealer and going to waste my day. Upon arrival Sergey showed me the vehicle he held for me and assured it was EXACTLY what I wanted. Sergey then took me into "THE ROOM" where he showed me the break down of what the offer was. This is where I figured things would change. What Sergey showed me was to the PENNY of what we spoke about over the phone and the quote he emailed me. The finance was all set up too and no surprises. Sergey said everything would be prepared and it was.....I was out of there in an hour. Sergey then showed me all the features on my vehicle and was very familiar with it since he owned one himself. The car was cleaned, fueled up and floor mats were in their place. Sergey even helped me get my rental returned before I left. This has been my best experience with a dealership ever. Everyone at Downey Nissan was easy to work with. If Sergey moved to a dealership in San Diego I would make that drive, just to have the easy experience. read more

Walked in today to shop my options for a vehicle. Was greeted by a couple of people. Ultimately was helped by George Solis , AKA "Texas". Let me start of by saying how phenomenal my customer experience was, thanks in large part to George "Texas" Solis. Mr. Solis made it his point to make us (my wife and I) feel as comfortable as possible, all while searching for the best possible deal for us. I've purchased a vehicle in the past and expected to be at the dealer, if a deal was stricken, for quite some time. This was no different, I was here for a while. The difference, was that neither I nor my wife felt the time pass. It was very smooth. The deal I received I truly believe was my best option, and I opted in because it was all throughly explained. I came in prepared with what I considered the "right" questions and wanted to offer no B.S. nor did I wish to receive that in return My intentions were made clear and Texas respected my approach and worked with me no B.S. All in all I am very satisfied with the type and level of service I recieved. I would and will recommend my family and friends to Downey Nissan and more specifically to George "Texas" Solis. I feel if I do, they will be guided fairly and efficiently. 5 stars for service. 5 stars for dealer ambiance 5 star for selection. 10 stars for George Solis! I called Downey Nissan on September 1, 2020, and my entire experience was fantastic. Within 20 minutes on the telephone with Marisol, I felt confident Downey Nissan was the place for me to conduct business. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by the reception staff, then greeted by Marisol shortly afterward. She showed me the vehicle we discussed, and began the paperwork. Negotiations had been tentatively hashed out over the phone, and they honored their commitments with me. I'm impressed with the amount of time it took to meet, test-drive the vehicle, negotiate and finalize the deal, as it took about 2 hours to complete everything. My amazing sales team consisted of Marisol Alatorre (Sales Representative), Omar Alatorre (Sales Manager), Raul Alatorre (Sales Manager), Eric Lewis (General Manager) and Joon Yi, (Desk Manager) who were all honest and transparent in their dealings with me. I called the Service Advisor, Maury Toro early AM, and he said Randy was in and that for me to come by. So the moment I arrived, spoke with Service Advisor, Randy Toro & he smiled & asked me to be in the customer lounge & he would take care of all paper work & will get the mechanic in the shop to get it done, Later they said the car was all completed with necessary service & asked whether I wanted it to get my Z washed & I agreed with the wash. I got the car back in no time... I am always very satisfied with the service I get from Randy & Maury Toro. Their excellent customer service, dedication, good advice & genuine professionalism is so great. I only go to Downey Nissan because of these two gentlemen. I also have used the services from Mr. Frank in the past & he also is a great Service Advisor. Prior to using Downey Nissan, I used to go to Cerritos Nissan, who was not the right fit for me as employees at Cerritos Nissan seriously lacked enthusiasm to take care of their customers in a professional manner. This Downey car dealership is one class act, no question about it. Very personalized service that is eminently fair and takes all of your questions and needs into consideration. From my initial phone conversation with Erasto to salesman Franky (honest and very professional), to the finance manager, lovely Elizabeth they all demonstrated patient and caring service. Downey Nissan's customer care was highly commendable. When I threw an unintended but complex curve at them re: installed options - that did definitely not make their lives any easier, Franky went to work and came up with a perfect solution (perfect for me - discount). The fact that I travelled 570 miles to visit David and Joon-Yi at Nissan Downey, should go to show they are unbeatable in prices and unbeatable in service. Considering I searched around the state of California to get the best deals on a Platinum Rogue, this location had the best inventory for stock. I've leased with this dealership for two separate cars, and would say that even though I live a nine hour drive from their premises, they were worth the trip. David and Joon-Yi worked incredibly hard, and David in particular was very patient with me as I pushed for a quick sale in order to resolve a soon-to-expire lease. He answered all questions, and explained everything very clearly. Joon-Yi and David worked hard on finding the best rest for the needs I had. As a future foster mum, I had specific requirements and you could feel they enjoy people, as well as care for their customer, not just a sale. In short, this location bucks the trend for the stereotype of questionable sales people, and will resurrect your trust in car dealerships once more. Downey Nissan = CROOKS!!! I purchased a used vehicle and brought it to Nissan dealer for a full diagnostic. I payed $2,500 for all recommended repairs. Three months later I get an oil change at Jeffy Lube as recommended to find out I still have the oil leak Nissan was suppose to repair. I drove the vehicle for a couple of months and it shuts of on me while driving. So I take the car back to Nissan and they diagnose the vehicle, they come up with another $2,000 worth of repairs. Cam Shaft being one of the repairs. I pick vehicle up, yes it turns on but now it makes noises it DIDN'T do before. When I put the car on Reverse it clicks, when I turn it on it makes a rattling noise, ect. I've paid almost $5,000 and expect vehicle to be running 100%. Customer service SUCKS!! The fist time I went Rick helped me and he seamed cool like he wanted to help me but the second time I went I was disgusted with customer service. I am so disgusted I forgot and don't want to remember the guys name who helped me all I can say was he's a big guy with a bull dog face. UGH, SO DISSAPOINTED!!!! read more

What can I say....everything here is amazing from the moment you arrive to the point that you leave, the experience is great. I really had a difficult situation about my car that I wanted to trade in for a new 2017 Nissan Altima. Even with the issues that I had about not being about to do a down payment. My boys said, "No problem, we can help you with that. We'll give you a hand by giving an 0.9% apr with a $0 down payment." In May 2021 I purchased a brand new Nissan NV 2500, what a mistake! I purchased the vehicle new from Downey Nissan in California. The dealership was atrocious, I went to the dealership and later made an offer that was accepted via text. When I got to the dealership it was a whole nother story, they tried to force backup Nissan funding on me when I was financing and pre-approved through my credit union and only needed a purchase order. They insisted on financial information and then tied to charge a different price if I financed through a third-party rather than Nissan financing. They concealed the uplift promotion from Nissan Corp. And said they only offer that to a Selected Few. Deinstall company referred Buy Downey Nissan had a 3.0 review rating. What should have taken half an hour on my second visit ended up taking hours! They were relentless on the Nissan financing! Horrible experience! read more

I had been in contact with three other dealers and had researched inventory at every Nissan dealer in LA/OC area (17 to be exact) and checked prices (Cars go by fast due to Covid times so you gotta make your trips worthwhile). JJ ( Jan Josef) and Marcus were able to offer the best price and beat everyone else including the Costco price. I've bought several cars in my life and I've had other dealers acting intimidating or just being inflexible which forces me to walk away. JJ and Marcus have been THE BEST sales manager and representative I've worked with. Towards the end of the deal, they ran across a few snags (wasn't their fault) and they were able to make it work to make us stay. I brought in my new Nissan Altima 2015 for Oil and Filter change , I was promptly greeted by Charlie with a smile and hand shake -service advisor who has helped me in the past, I signed up the necessary paper work and was told my car would be ready in half hour , Charlie directed me to Refreshment station where a fresh hot cup of coffee had my name on it , tasted wonderful on a cold morning like this , was just perfect . I met the owner Bill Hutchinson and General Sales Manager Mohammad Basith .. Great guys I am really glad I bought the car from here , they inquired if everything was to my liking and the service being provided was to my expectations , Absolutely ! We contacted a bunch of Nissan dealership in the area and I have to say this is the best experience so far. Other dealerships didn't answer any of our specific questions but just say whatever they could to get us into the store or trying to get our address. But Ricky here is a really sincere guy that you could have a conversation with via email. He's patient and transparently answered our questions and worked with us on price before we go into the store. We eventually came in here and worked on the details with Ricky, JJ and Jose. They're very nice and and pleasant to work with and we're interested in building a long term relationship with them. Honestly we dressed a certain way with a certain older car to get an honest working sales person. As a business owner (automotive/rentals) i have purchased over 10 vehicles from various dealership, also working and managing a service department in carson i have seen many tactics they use. I am aware of how shady and judgmental some people can be just because you look a certain way. Lucky for me and my wife we got the professional help we needed from Josephs team of amazing individuals to help my wife get into her brand new altima! With a good price and offers listed we drove out of the dealership under 3hrs! (Yes 3hr lots of work,vehicle selection,checking and moving numbers) I recommend his team better than honda wich ran my n her credit more than 5 times when we had already our banks credit line smh Thanks guys! read more
