    Reuben sandwich lunch special for $12.99

    I was on the way back from Ocean City Maryland driving north on US 113, and saw Doyle's Restaurant along the way. It was lunch time so I thought I'd stop and get some lunch. There a traffic light right at the restaurant so it was easy to get across the highway to it. Lots of parking. On entry everything looked clean and neat. Was greeted promptly and offered choice of seats. The server arrived promptly to get my beverage order. There was a small board with specials listed on the way to the dining room with one of them being a Reuben sandwich with fries. I opted that special. The food came out very quickly and was piping hot. Fries were good, similar to most diners (probably frozen precuts), and a good sized serving. The Reuben itself had good flavor, but the meat was sliced a bit thick, and some parts were a little tough, so not great. The rye bread was lightly toasted, but one side seemed a little soggy, probably from sauerkraut juice. All the servers were very friendly and checked on customers frequently. All in all not a bad experience but a little disappointing. I'd give them another chance next time I come through.

    My sister and I stopped by here on the way back to Philly, and we both enjoyed our meals. I had the shrimp scampi which was delicious. Plenty of garlicky broth for the shrimp and fettuccini! My sister really enjoyed her Chesapeake Chicken - plenty of crab meat and she enjoyed the Imperial sauce, as well. She said the chicken breast was done just right. The presentations our our platters made them look enticing - we couldn't wait to dig in! We did start with potato skins which were yummy! Our side salads were crispy and fresh. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful and funny. I look forward to going again during my trips back and forth from VA To Pa! Check them out! PS Next time, I plan on sitting in the old diner - it looks so cute in there with the fifties vibe - the counter with stool and the old time booths :0)

    My husband and I visit Doyle's frequently, always for Breakfast. The food is fresh, reasonably priced and hot. The staff is friendly and swift. We love this place!

    My sister and I stopped for dinner on the way home from VA. I got chicken Chesapeake it was very tasty , would definitely get it again ! My sister had shrimp scampi she enjoyed it , she really like the garlic sauce on it . Will definitely go back if nicewhen I go back to visit my sister in VA. Again. I will ask her to stop there again . Service was great and the restaurant was set up cute , blast from the past at the 50's. side of the diner .We sat in another section which was very nice also . Our waitress was very attentive and friendly

    i don't eat a lot of fried foods but Doyle's has the Best Fried Chicken on the shore. Crispy, tasty and not greasy.

We ordered steamed large crabs; it was juicy, and unbelievably sweet--you could taste the freshness. You break the claws and the juice literally drips out--so good. The oysters? Also insanely fresh. Just wow. The service was excellent as well. While it's not a full-service restaurant, the staff were incredibly friendly. They even welcomed my dog on the outdoor patio and brought him a bowl of ice water. The owner was kind and shared that everything is fresh, caught daily, and made to order--which explains the wait time for the steamed crabs and also what sets them apart from other places. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in the area and highly recommend it to anyone who truly appreciates top-quality seafood.

I will summarize my four most recent happy hour off season visits. We were first here at the bar with my six family and friends. Well finally the off season happy hour half price dinner entrees have finally returned here starting around mid October with pretty much the same entrees and menu as last year. They subsequently updated the half price entrees in early November. All items have pretty much returned here except for some new entrees. The good news is that at least two new half price happy hour dinner entrees were added including the surf and turf with espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon with two skewered shrimps, yukon mash, tomato garnash with blue cheese in the middle of the tomato for $40 or half price for only $20. I never had espresso encrusted filet mignon, therefore I ordered and enjoyed mine medium rare. I could barely taste the encrusted espresso. I ended my dinner with my favorite Fiddlehead's draft honey porter for $6. My total bill was $111 with half price discount of $36.50 so my final bill was $77. On my second return I enjoyed my ahi tuna rice bowl with broccoli, ginger fried house rice, sprouts and ginger vinaigrette for $36 or half price for $18. My total bill was $72 excluding gratuity. On my third return I again enjoyed the espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon, which I had ordered medium rare, but was over cooked to medium. I did not complain about returning my filet for a replacement, however I did show it to bartender Dennis. Next time I will order my filet rare. On my fourth return I enjoyed my usual cosmos and my ahi tuna rice bowl which was always properly cooked ahi style. Bartender Dennis always remembers I prefer a little extra spice, without me even asking for my Sriracha. Dennis recommended both of the above entrees. See my most recent pic of the new menu. Chef Cowan waved to me at the bar. Bartender Dennis served us very well supported by our usual excellent recommendations and conversations. Chandra and Cameron also said hello. The staff here are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. On Black Friday I purchased another $1k in gift cards for the off season from Off The Hook and Hooked in OC. Needless to say we will continue to return here for happy hour to spend our $1k.

I was here with my family of nine including two children for Friday night dinner after Thanksgiving day upstairs at a corner table. I started with my spicy margarita for $14. We also shared a bottle of Duckhorn Decoy Brut champagne for $52, which was reduced down to $26 by 50% off due to Friday 50% off on all wine bottles. The Decoy brut champagne was excellent. We also shared and enjoyed the crab dip for $21. We also shared and enjoyed three dozen raw oysters samplers for a total of $81. I also enjoyed my crispy duck confit special with pappardelle, basil pesto, fried onion and garlic chilli vinaigrette for $32. My total bill was $455 excluding gratuity. Morelia C. (nicknamed Mo) served us very well as usual despite us having two children. We first met Mo, when she bartended at the downstairs bar, when we were here prior for many Sunday afternoon happy hours. Raspberry Point Oysters are premium, cold-water farmed oysters from Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada, prized for their firm meat, distinct briny flavor with a sweet finish, and deep cups, taking 5-7 years to mature in New London Bay's tidal waters. They're known for being easy to shuck and popular in gourmet settings due to their consistent quality and appealing salty-sweet profile. We also shared the calamari for $17 and the devilled eggs for $19. I also enjoyed my confit lamb shank for $38. Caleb M. served us very well despite us having five children. My total bill was $737 excluding gratuity. Caleb applied our Indian River High School band 10% discount to our bill, which reduced the total from $737 down to $663 excluding gratuity. On Sunday's our favorite bartender is Nick C. Nick said hello, when we visited during the Thanksgiving holiday. We will continue to return here with family and friends for happy hour, lunch or dinner.

They told us their story and shared a scrap book of their off season home in New Mexico. They were in the process of training and orienting their summer staff while we enjoyed our meal. The attention to detail, customer first, quality service and passion for excellent food was on full display. The dining is beach rustic and perfect. There's a good amount of parking and it's easy to find them right along coastal highway. What initially seemed like a disappointment today turned into a wonderful discovery of a new favorite.
