Went to Nashville with a bunch of friends to visit local friends and watch a Blink 182 concert. This was the highlight of all the food we had in Nashville for my hubs and me. Our favorite item on the menu? THE TARTINE. Absolutely delicious. So grateful that my hubs ordered it lmao bc I picked out the kouign amann (bc hi, kouign amannnn hnnggh) and one of the savory scones. My picks were good, but the tartine was AMAZING lol. Hands down would order it again whenever we're back in Nashville! Came on a Sunday late morning. Some things were sold out. The lines move, despite it queuing almost out the door. Ate inside. I DO wish they had a little corner with utensils/napkins so we wouldn't have to request those items, but maybe we missed it! Would come back. :) read more

Food and drinks were pretty good, but the service was not as good. The woman at the register wasn't very friendly which was a little surprising and they wouldn't heat up the two pastries we ordered. Tucked away in the Wedgewood neighborhood, Dozen Bakery has quality drinks & an array of goodies to choose from. I walked into carb heaven. All the breads & pastries looked delicious, I wanted to order one of each. I ordered a chai latte & the focaccia egg sandwich which were both tasteful. My friend ordered the golden milk latte (iced) & an egg sandwich. The service was positive & efficient. Be prepared for a longer line if you visit on the weekend, seating is first come first serve so you have to move quick or keep an eye out for a table packing up. They do offer outdoor seating which is more ideal for those warmer days! Can't wait to come back & try more items off the menu. read more

I had the strawberry thyme iced latte and kouign amagn and both were phenomenal you definitely have to try them, the kouign amagn was so light and fluffy. There was a line right when they opened at 7am on a tuesday, but the line moved quick and getting my latte and breakfast sandwich was also fast. The focaccia egg sandwich has great flavors and the focaccia itself was enjoyable. I just moved to Nashville from San Francisco, and the bakery scene here makes my fat girl heart cry. Thankfully, Dozen Bakery is nearby and doing the heavy duty lifting in the bread dept, and is now a regular place for us to live our Parisian dreams. I'm a grandma stuck in a young woman's body so I'm too old for the brunches on Broadway - Dozen is the perfect place if you actually care about your coffee and food, and can forgo the mimosa for your brunch. My typical order is a half split baguette with butter, avocado, and eggs. Like a good millennial, I make sure to eat my avo toast everyday during the week anyway, just on weekends I get to upgrade my bread to a baguette (this explains why I don't have a house or a car). The eggs at Dozen are unexplainably luxurious even though it is something I indulge in everyday - really that first bite never gets old. They use crema roastery beans for their coffee, I like to get an oat milk cappuccino on weekends but will sometimes opt for a seasonal drink if something catches my eye. Love coming here for pastries, coffee, and breakfast! Too many good things about this place: 1. Great value: we ordered 3 drinks (1 specialty), 2 breakfast entrees, and 1 pastry for $31 subtotal. Amazing. 2. Breakfast items come out HOT, TASTY, and flavorful. Anything with eggs on it was so delicious. 3. Outdoor seating feels so nice and relaxed! 4. Baguette is SO yummy. 5. Dozen's Kouign Amann is a perfect blend of chewy, crunch/flaky top, and sweet (Not overly sweet!) Few other things: I didn't entirely love the basil espresso lemonade (the specialty drink) - too many flavors going on, I think. It was on the more savory side. Also, their croissant is decent. Stopped at Dozen as soon as we got into Nashville from Indianapolis. There was construction nearby, so we were a little confused on how to access the bakery, but an officer was in the street and directed us to the nearby parking lot. When we walked in we were greeted, grabbed a menu, and then got in line. Our food came out fast and was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast, lunch, coffee, or a quick snack. It also seems like a great meeting and workplace for locals. read more

I get the high ratings. Dozen represents the local scene well. It's hip, it's modern, it's clean. They've got great products and incredible variety. Most of Nashville's trendiest spots can be found in select parts of town; 12 South, Germantown, the Gulch, Greenwood, Berry Hill. We know the culinary havens well. But Dozen is a bit of a geographical outlier, an anomaly nestled along the railroad tracks near the formerly used Greer Stadium. Obviously Nashvillians have no trouble finding it, and I'm sure Music City will find a way to soon blanket this desolate area with condos, one of the last bastions close to downtown without them. All of the sourdough breads are very good. The herb croissant is deliciously flaky with tons of flavor. The pecan bar was a highlight, with its subtle crust, not too sweet, and its soft layer of pecan filling on top. Personally, the ginger cookie stole the show, the best I've ever had. Soft, chewy, intense with ginger flavor but not overpowering. This was my favorite item. read more

The focaccia egg sandwich is the best thing I have ever tasted in my entire life. no food will ever amount to the level that breakfast sandwich was on. my tastebuds will shrivel and die as soon as they touch any other food because nothing will ever be as good again. I'll be honest, when I first walked in the doors here and joined a long line and saw the menu prices for breakfast sandwiches, I was skeptical. However, the closer I got to the display case, the more excited I became. They also have a half wall full of the cutest little goodies (cards, books, gifts, etc) that you pass by in line. They really have a wide variety of breads and sweets that aren't on the menu, but are in the display case and have labels with prices. I ended up getting a bacon cheddar scone and a dark chocolate brownie with snickerdoodle crust on the bottom. Both were really good! There aren't a ton of seats but they have a booth wall with little lap tray tables which ended up being perfect for my friend and I. Next time I think I'll try a baguette sandwich because those looked great! All In all, worth the wait and the hype! Ps there are some chairs and tables outside. I most definitely will be back. It's a cute location and seems to be a super hot topic. I have a thing for visiting bakeries whenever we are in a new location and he surprised me with this one. From the moment we pulled up and parked until we left there was a steady flow of customers coming and going. When they say get there early listen and GET THERE EARLY!!! We went on a Sunday and arrived around 1030am and and the options were slim due to the majority of items being sold out. Eventhen we were still able to purchase a few goodies. We left with two baguette loafs, an olive loaf , a slice of pecan pie and a granola bar. Now let me start by saying that the pecan pie was AMAZING !!! Like many reviews have mentioned, the bread here is AMAZING! We got the split baguette with avocado YUM. We also ordered a chocolate croissant which barely had any chocolate so that was disappointing. The iced mocha and iced oat milk lattes we got were good. Maybe I'm being a little nit-picky, but initially I was excited about the compostable cups, but as we were leaving I realized there was no collection container for them. Why it took me almost 3 years of living in Nashville to come here- I HAVE NO IDEA. Wow, this place is freaking amazing. I've enjoyed their bread when I've purchased it from Whole Foods. But when I tried their breakfast for a sit down meal in their restaurant- my mind was blown. The eggs were perfectly soft scrambled. The bacon was perfectly chewy and cooked just right. While you will need to brave a bit of a line on the weekends, I imagine if you come by right during opening or perhaps an odd hour in the afternoon, you should find yourself with ample space in this streamlined, open bakery set-up. The staff are so down-to-earth and efficient, even a long line won't stop you from sampling their delectable baked goods. I highly suggest the sweet galettes. Mine was a thing of beauty, with blood oranges and luscious berries in the middle of perfectly crisp, gorgeous pastry. The main issue here is seating. Since you will have many other patrons vying for space, I think takeaway is a prime option. On my most recent visit the seasonal menu had changed a few days prior. This meant lots of goodies to try. We ordered an egg sandwich, egg in a hole (my favorite), blueberry muffin, pumpkin cranberry muffin, a delightful pear pastry, a s'more croissant, and the seasonal latte. I cannot begin to describe how delicious everything was. The pastry were so buttery, flakey, and filled with flavors that would blow your mind. As stated above, the blueberry muffin is life changing. Don't be shy about the (fall) seasonal latte. It was not too sweet and I love the brightness of the orange zest. As far as atmosphere, they have utilized a narrow space really well. I've enjoyed Dozen Bakery for years! Thru the pandemic they were quick to adapt and have done a great job with both the quality of food and service. Their baked items and sandwiches and quiche... all amazingly good. I do have one significant criticism of late that will give me pause before I come back. That is that wait times for food can be not only far too long but with too little concern on the staff' part. Today I waited 20-25 min in line to order and then waited another 35-40 min for an egg sandwich. Lots of staff busy getting ready to close but none of them able to pitch in to get the food out? Literally no one waiting to order with 4-5 staff doing it's of close prep here & there. A casual "sorry for the wait" as almost an afterthought doesn't do it for me.
