I've never been in the location, which is sounds like most the bad reviews are from. I've only ordered delivery on Order Up. I've never had a bad experience! The most recent time, they forgot our drinks. It was a deal for two drinks and two calzones, so I wasn't sure the exact cost of the drinks (maybe like $3). So I called, and spoke to a manager. She offered a refund onto the card or a credit for a free calzone (more expensive than the drinks) which I opted for. It was quick and immediate service and she was very apologetic. So I'm very happy with their service! I have gotten an Italian zone and a buffalo chicken zone, both delicious. They didn't give me blue cheese dressing, I got ranch instead. Awesome food, but extremely frustrating delivery range. They don't work with outside delivery services, and they don't deliver to large areas of Fort Collins. We would order calzones often, but after we moved to southern Fort Collins, suddenly we're outside the range. Not great! read more

The food is good most of the time. The customer service is poor mostly cause every is so high. You have to take your chances on a group of people that are super high. Calzones are simply something that I fail to remember to get. I always opt out and go for pizza. Of course the two food items are not that much different from each other. It was refreshing to go to DP Dough and see nothing but calzones to pick from because it is something I just never get. After a bit of thought I got the calzone called The Spinner which included spinach and of course cheese. Service was fast and everyone seemed attentive. First of all, I'd like to say that I can't believe Perkin's closes. WTH? As Jared and I walked to out "nearby" hotel, we stumbled upon many great places we'd like to try. The problem: it's 1 AM and nothing is open. We were hungry, cold, and realized that we weren't going to get our CTM from Perkin's. The solution: DP Dough. At 1 AM, you will find a variety of people here waiting for their calzone. I think the mixture of people is to be blamed on our problem. Nothing is open. Regardless, it was nice to see the Colorado version of the Jersey Shore. We thought we were going to see some fist pumping in the place and I swear someone said GTL. We took the calzone to go and I must say it was amazing. I ate every bite of the calzone and then passed out on a roll-away watching the oh so entertaining movie, Fear. It was a very memorable trip to Fort Collins. read more

Along College Ave--from Harmony up to Mulberry, I would dare to say pizza eateries report at 20 strong. Not surprising, as College fences in... a college. Here, calzones take precedent, and at $7 a pop, they are hard to pass up with you need some protein and carbs in your diet filled with other empty carbs, i.e. booze. The cheese blend they use inside the 'zones falls a little into the bland territory, but the ingredients they use seem fresh, as if to provide some redeeming qualities. More disappointing were the wings, soggy in texture--perhaps a smidgen too much sauce sitting atop the poultry product. Not much to report on in terms of menu offerings or quality. Simple, affordable eatery, with a focus on pizza... that really isn't pizza. Don't be deceived my friends. They won't be able to crank out pies. read more

DP dough is usually my fave. However, they sucked this time! Placed my order at 12:03. Quoted 40-45 minutes. At 12:53 I called. The guy on the phone was snippity and said "your order is at 23 minutes. It will be there soon" Anyways, I'm guessing their online ordering system is off sync. Or something. Not my issue. read more

If you need a calzone, this is the place. Staff was dirty filthy hippies that all needed haircuts and showers but otherwise pretty decent place. Go to the Boulder location if you want a cleaner and nicer eating experience. read more

Wow. I went in and tried a calzone and it was fantastic. Delicious food for sure and left extremely filled and happy. As far as the calzone goes it was nice and large. There was not too much dough as some are just a bunch of dough with nothing inside. This had a very generous amount of filling and came with dipping sauce. I used to have D.P. Dough all the time (drunk and sober) when I was a student at CSU and it was ALWAYS delicious. In fact of all the great food fort collins has to offer this is what I missed the most. Well I was back in Fort Collins today and the only "must do" on my list was to devour the best calzone known to man. Now that I've completed my mission I have to say it was just as good as I remembered -- I just hope I don't have to wait another two years for another one. All I can really say about DP Dough is that their calzones are most certainly a gift handed down from the gods of Olympus to us mere mortals. Wherever I end up when I die, there better be D.P. Met the owners wife, while helping her fix her computer. She was so nice and gave me a token for a free calzone..so of course I took advantage of that. I got the pineapple/canadian bacon calzone and it was off the hook (is that still a thing?) I will definitely be stopping in more often to get my calzone fix. This has been one of my favorite places in Fort Collins for well over 4 years and for the record, I don't order it after getting wasted- actually, quite the contrary. Yes, I am admitting that I love this place SOBER. I've always ordered the Maui-Wowi, it just always hits the spot for me. The reason I give it four stars instead of five is because occasionally, you'll get a bad calzone. Most of the time, things are absolutely fantastic, but every once in awhile, you'll get one that's burnt, or dripping juice (from the pineapple in the Maui Wowi, like it wasn't drained or something). Love dp dough, it brings back so many college memories of before we lost ours in Madison, wi . This dp dough (Fort Collins) is especially awesome bc of the super cheap quality beers- on tap! It was only $2-3 for pints that would usually cost $6 at least in the Midwest. For those who are not familiar dp dough serves a Smorgasbord of different flavor combos in calzone form. Food tasted great. However, my order took an hour and ten minutes to be delivered, the driver forgot my credit card receipt at the store, and he didn't seem terribly friendly either. It's 2014. Delicious calzones prepared with hatred. It's the tears of the employees that gives them their soft flaky texture that is irresistible. The air they get when they are tossed haphazardly from the oven tray to the box is responsible for the fluffy lightness, and the haggard angry halving of the calzone by one of said employees really merges the flavor. Surprisingly good calzone! Stopped here late on my last night in town for business after working well past operating hours of the more upscale restaurants. With limited dining options I decided to give it a go and ordered an Italian Zone calzone to go. I wasn't quite sure what to expect in terms of food quality as this place obviously caters to college students and the late after hours crowd, but I was pleasantly surprised by the light, flaky crust and generous portion of cheese and meat in my calzone. I was told this was the place and I was told this was the best late night calzone imaginable. So I ended up here at around 1:30 am one night. I ordered the one with Pepperoni, sausage, and onions to split with my boyfriend. We started eating it and I was already 1/2 done when this guy that worked there leaned over the counter to get our attention. He said something along the lines of that doesn't look right. This place is good for what you pay. I always get the "combat zone" which is green peppers, sausage, mushroom and a few other things. They're decent sized calzones with some good flavor. Nothing ground breaking, but worth a good lunch. If you never had a Stromboli or calzone (they don't sell Stromboli though) and want to give something relatively new a shot, give this place a whirl. read more

My wife and I rode our bikes 20+ miles to get there, essentially planning our entire day around having lunch at DP Dough, only to arrive this past Saturday to closed doors. The Passing Zone (Chicken, bacon, tomatoes, mozzarella, and ranch) is one of the tastiest things I've eaten in Fort Collins... and I've eaten at a good portion of Fort Collins establishments. That is not to say that the food quality is the best of the best, just that this 'zone and my (taste) zone were in perfect harmony. My first experience was not too shabby (Had what amounted to a Philly calzone), but this trip has made me a believer. The dough tastes (to me, anyway) like what you'd find in beer nuggets and the warm pocket of love contained within is highly customizable. Find something that sounds appealing and give a try. It's hard to go too wrong with DP Dough and it should be one of the top considerations when looking for budget-friendly cuisine near CSU. read more
