This was my first time at a Dairy Queen in years. I had a craving for a strawberry milkshake while driving by. A milkshake on a cold winter's day may seem strange but it hit the spot. It was so thick it was tough drinking it with a straw. I considered using a spoon but that would turn my milkshake into just another cup of ice cream. There were some nice large chunks of real strawberries, unlike certain fastfood chains that just whip up some kind of artificially flavored thickened milk product. Since I have not had any other food or ice cream items there, this review is all about the milkshake. Only negative is that they need larger diameter straws to be able to easily suck up those great strawberry chunks. If you like milkshakes, especially strawberry, this is the place to go. read more

Usually go to this Dairy Queen because it is the closest location to my house. I love blizzards and usually get the cotton candy blizzard. Ordered a medium cotton candy blizzard with cheesecake bite pieces in it. 79 cents was added on for the cheesecake bite pieces. The worker handed it to me upside down like they usually do. Started to eat it then realized there was no cheesecake pieces in it. So I said something to the worker and she said they must be at the bottom then. Ate it all and there weren't any pieces at the bottom! I had already left so didn't say anything. So got charged for extra add ins but didn't get the extra add ins. The blizzard wasn't mixed like it usually is and wasn't as sweet as normal so was disappointed. Girl working was nice but didn't get the order right. Store was clean inside. read more

If you get tired while gulping down your blizzard, then you can rename it Dreary Queen. Or if you're a cartoon explorer, then maybe Dora Queen. I like this location. The blizzard they made me was good, not as good as the NFB location, but still enjoyable. They close a little earlier. The employee that served me was absolutely stunning. She was also a manager. She's the very tanned one who knows how to dress. She didn't seem to like me at all. If I was as attractive as her, I probably wouldn't like me either. No worries. I'm just glad I didn't have to ask her out as a Dare, because she doesn't seem like a Dare-y Queen. Try the blizzard with Salted Caramel. It's my fave. I don't come to Dairy Queen often. Maybe once a year just to fulfill that Oreo blizzard craving, but dang prices are crazy. A small royal blizzard is around 4.50?! That's not cheap at all. Sure I get Oreos blended in but for that much I'd really rather just buy my own bag of Oreos and crush them and blend em up with some of McDonald's ice cream or something. Also, this is the first time I've gotten the royal blizzard which has the fudge in the middle. I was hoping it would make it better but def not. Chocolate fudge and Oreo doesn't work for me. Finally, I noticed in the past they have funnel cake! I've always thought about trying it and since I was with my mom and I know she loves it decided to try it. As far as I know, you can only get those when some fair is in town so had to jump on this opportunity. Wow, this crap was $4.50 for the size of maybe 1/4 or 1/5 of what you'd get at a fair. The girl taking our order did ask us if we were sure we didn't want the ice cream that it normally comes with so I guess that's partly the reason. Chain ice cream store. Last time I tried DQ was over 20 yrs ago. On a whim we ended up here instead of their locally run competitors down Transit Road. Status post- Dilly Bar, buster bar and Guardian of Galaxy Blizzard - we were happy. Inside has a nice, clean seating area. Prices were reasonable too. This place being in a plaza near other restaurants makes for a busy traffic jam and hunt for parking. No green space outdoors to eat your sweet treats. I will however state the following... I OWN YOU!!! Oreo Blizzard, Large ($4.50): 28 oz. cup filled with a mix of Vanilla DQ Soft Serve and an abundance of Oreos. Granted, 750 calories for a mere 28 oz. cup of Ice Cream should render anyone with any sanity speechless, but NOT I! Remember... I own you! Upon ordering and receiving the Blizzard, it was off to the races... 48 seconds later, the 28 oz. cup was empty! There... 48 seconds to take down 28 oz. of Oreo Blizzard while ingesting 750 calories! This is why I own you. In part, I will give the Blizzard credit in that the balance between the velvety texture of the DQ Soft Serve and the crunchiness of the Oreo Cookie was welcoming. With ice cream parlors in existance like Sweet Jenny's, Lake Effect, even gelato from Sweet Melody's, why would anyone still go to Dairy Queen?? Was treated to a blizzard here last night. Got cookie dough and vanilla blended up together in the new mini size treat. This size is completely perfect. It's not too much, not too little. Perfect small sweet for after dinner. It's great that they are offering this size to patrons. I can't say I loved it though. It was at best just okay and that's really only because there were cookie dough chunks in attendance at the lame ice cream party in my mouth. The ice cream is more like ice milk, not rich or creamy like my beloved Jenny's. It just lacks in every account- taste, texture, even visually it's lacking. It was literally MEH. Standard quckie menu burgers, fries (hot dogs?), chicken, etc. Nice variety of budget combo meals, and as expected a braod variety of yummy, frozen treats. This particular one is located right in front of a Regal theater/IMAX, so we've been here more than once to grab food before a movie. Everything tasted great and was hot and fresh/cold and perfect, reasonable priced. Dining room was always clean, and staff friendly. Not too much more to say about it, but nice cheap eats, and a great place to meet up before/after a movie. This Diary Queen is definitely one of the better ones I've been to in Buffalo. I had been searching all over town for a Dairy queen that had the full menu including meal items - not just ice cream. I was so excited when I found this dairy queen, it was clean and had plenty of indoor seating (the dairy queen on niagara falls blvd only has outdoor seating). The food itself is pretty standard for a dairy queen. You have your ice creams, blizzards, burgers, fries, etc. One thing I do have to say is that diary queen has the best onion rings, so if you find the opportunity to try their onion rings, do it. I'm not a huge fan of beer battered onion rings, so the breading on their rings are to my taste. Of course, if you are into more of the boutique ice cream shops, there are plenty around and you may want to skip dairy queen. It's not the only option in buffalo for good ice cream. But there is something special about blizzards and their onion rings that keeps me coming back for more. read more
