Everything was superb. From the speedy service to the drinks and food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Went on a Friday night and it fills up pretty quickly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter explained all the specials and kept our waters filled. All our dishes were amazing and even tried something new. The Che' Carlos was worth every bite and had a sauce that we afterwards dipped everything into. Just got back from Peru where we ate up a storm. We always knew Peruvian food here was great, but now we know for sure the food here is just as good rivaling their homeland. Dr Limon's ceviches, causas, chaufas, and ají de gallina were top notch. The service was quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was bright, clean, spacious, and vibing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be adding this chain to our Peruvian craving list.

I went with my mom to Dr Limon for my favorite ceviche! It was fresh and delicious, with just the right amount of fish. Looks are deceiving because it doesn't look like it's a large amount of food, but it is large enough to share. We also ordered the arroz chaufa with chicken. This was superb! Flavorful without being overly salty and there is more than enough to share. The surprise treat was the passionfruit creme brulee. I don't like passionfruit, but this was delicious! Creamy and not overly sweet...definitely hit the spot! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was great and the ambiance was comfortable and trendy, with some great tunes![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am so glad Dr Limon is close to my mom's house (right across the street from FIU). I'll definitely be back when Im in town!!

First time eating at a Dr. Limón and it did not disappoint! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small but tables are spaced out enough to not seem overcrowded. It is nicely decorated and has more of a casual dinning ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] From the start the service was great. Our server explained the specials and gave us suggestions when ordering. She made sure to mention if something was spicy or had an ingredient worth mentioning. We had drinks to start. I ordered a traditional Pizco sour which is a drink Peru is known for. It was a great cocktail, it had a nice taste and it had that alcohol kick. My daughter ordered a passion fruit pizco and she loved it too. My husband had what is called a coconut lemonade which in non alcoholic. It was very refreshing. For food we had a ceviche called "Psychiatrist". It had fish, shrimp and octopus and it was delicious. It had a little spice and had the perfect lime balance that a ceviche should have. We also had a seafood grill which was a dish with shrimp, white fish, calamari, octopus and mussels. It came with an ají sauce and leche de tigre sauce which was spicy. The grilled seafood was perfectly cooked and the spices delicious. My husband and I shared both and the portions were just right. My daughter had a ceviche in a soy and sesame sauce. It had a perfect balance taste of citric and soy. The prices were between $18-30 but the portions and quality of food is worth it. We will definitely be returning.

As always, fantastic food and service at Dr. Limon! [[HIGHLIGHT]]While visiting upon opening, the dining room was quite busy an hour later.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had the usual Remedio Casero Mix, and added the Messi Roll along w wine and a sangria. The ceviche was fresh and energizing. The Messi Roll was rich and full of flavor w nice layer of crab topping. I finished up w a cortadito for dessert. The staff is warm and helpful, and very patient w my hacking thru the espanol language. An added bonus was our upbeat chat with manager Carla.

This restaurant was a total disappointment and a straight-up rip-off. I ordered a Lomo Saltado with rice listed for $20, but my bill showed $32 for something called Trilogía Peruana -- which turned out to be a ball of rice, one potato, and three tiny pieces of lomo. When I questioned it, the staff couldn't explain why. The waiters clearly didn't understand what we ordered and kept suggesting random items without warning us about the prices. A glass of sangria was $18, mostly ice with barely any drink. But the worst was the ceviche. I asked for a simple one and got a bowl of overly spicy soup with a few fish chunks and five fried octopus slices -- and they charged $26 for it, while the giant ceviche sampler costs only $35! It makes no sense at all. After checking online, I found out this place is actually known for overcharging customers, and now I believe it. Between the confusion, inflated prices, and poor service, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Avoid this place -- they take advantage of people.

Went there for lunch and it was a good experience. I've been to the other Dr. Limon location. My ceviche had a lot of shrimp and I think it was a good value for ceviche. The staff was really nice and helpful. My server was very knowledgeable about the menu. The two cons why I have this place a 4 rather than a 5: - the tuna in my opinion had too much different flavors going on. I think it would've benefitted if the white sauce was excluded - I think the menu should make it more transparent that if you order ceviche with just shrimp it'll cost more (I don't remember the specific numbers but I think it went from $21 to $27) Other than that, I had a good experience. I'll come back to try more stuff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food at Dr. Limon. I appreciated all the little details. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Every table immediately welcomes you with a fresh lime (the lime didn't stay at our table and left us longing for some).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When our server arrived we were greeted with what was basically a pureed ceviche, which altbough it was a bit salty was absolutely delicious, and I recommend topping a tostone with some of this stuff. They also brought out some roasted corn kernels to nibble on. Our server was very friendly and helpful eith understanding the menu items. We ordered the Lomo Saltado, a Morongo plate, and a seafood plate. Everything was absolutely delicious. I loved all the attention to detail. The food was beautifully served, ingredients were fresh, and the portions were generous. I recommend giving their Cucumber mule a try because it was refreshing and just perfect. If alcohol is not your thing, ai was also pleased to find that they served Inca Cola, and they also have a delicious fresh frozen lemonade. For dessert we tried the suspiro al Limon. It reminded me alot of cooked condensed milk with a thin layer of a whipped cream and sprinkled with some cinnamon. It wasn't my favorite but it was nice to try. We can't wait to come back and try new foods.

Absolutely delicious! Service was friendly, and the food was made to perfection. Sangria was the perfect amount of sweet, and well balanced w the rest. The menu had plenty of offerings, something for everyone in my opinion. Highly recommend the main entree of El Tunche - a delicious combination of Mofungo, mahi mahi and a coconut cream sauce. We also devoured the crab salad tostones. Really glad my family and I gave this a try.

After eating at Dr. Limon last night, I just have one question: How did I go so long without Peruvian food?! This meal was an exciting, flavorful experience from start to finish, and I'm grateful for the massive portions because it means I get to enjoy it all as leftovers today! I tried the Shrimp Causas to start, and it was unreal! Super flavorful with just a hint of spice to add some bite to the creamy, delicious sauce. For my entree I had the risotto special with octopus and shrimp, and WOW did that blow me away! The risotto was incredibly creamy and cheesy, and the octopus and shrimp were well-seasoned and very tender. My mom had the Beef Chaufas and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was really, really good because at first glance it looked like your typical Latin take on Asian fried rice, which I often find to be a bit dry. Our waiter Luis was very kind and helpful, making great recommendations for my first time and describing every item I asked about in detail. My only regret for this meal was that I didn't save room for dessert! The portions here are massive, so I highly recommend coming with a group and sharing entrees and apps so you can enjoy a bit of everything. Though, coming solo isn't a bad idea - just be prepared for leftovers!

Absolutely delicious Peruvian cuisine! For appetizers, we had the Causa Variety Platter, it had delicious creamy, layered potatoes topped with delicious toppings. Then we ordered a jalea. This crispy seafood plate was served with a dipping sauce. The seafood was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Lomo Saltado with Tacu Tacu in Ají de Gallina Sauce: Although not on the menu, they graciously prepared this combination for us, and it was absolutely worth it! The beef was tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with the ají de gallina sauce and the unique tacu tacu, which had a fantastic texture. We also ordered shrimp truffle Sushi Roll that was a unique take on sushi with Peruvian flavors. We also enjoyed a refreshing fruit smoothie, which was the ideal complement to our meal. We visited on a Wednesday night, and no reservation was needed for party of 3, which made for a relaxing evening. Highly recommend this spot if you're craving authentic Peruvian flavors for a good price!

If you are in the Miami area, you must try Dr. Limon, else cheat your taste buds. Muy bueno! We were on our way from Key West to Boynton Beach, had a traffic delay on the interstate and found Dr. Limon while making use of the delay. What a delight! Good food, but horrible waiting time. I strongly recommend you order just to go. We waited for more than an hour when told it will be only about 30. On top of that the location is horrible, we waited in the sun. Once inside, since it was about 6:30 the sun was right in our faces. I suggest you avoid the times between 4 and 7. read more

This a great place to eat a fresh ceviche. I am Peruvian and my family owns restaurants for many years. I ordered a ceviche that comes with fried calamari too and I ask them to make it extra spicy. It was absolutely great, the fish was fresh and the seasoning right in point. My husband had a lomo saltado, it was good, it could improve with less soy sauce. This restaurant isn't anything special the food is good. We ordered a jalea, arroz chaufa, a causa, and a chincalo. For drinks I had a frozen lemonade and a chicha morada. The jalea was not the best, it is fried sea food like shrimp, calamari, fish , etc. It was alright not anything great I don't recommend it, came with onions on top and corn. For entry they gave us leche de Tigre and fried corn. It was very good. My favorite would be the jalea we got the one with everything. Really good I recommend it the causa had potatoes with seafood on top and it wasn't the best but it was good. The chincalo was very good also it was a shrimp soup super good. The drinks were also good I recommend the frozen lemonade it isn't too much ice and is big enough for someone. The chicha morada is a purple corn drink very good. Over all I had a good time and the service was good the place was nicely decorated and very clean. read more

So if you are interested in fresh and delicious Peruvian Ceviche on the the west side of Miami, you must try this gem hidden in a shopping center in Tamiami. This is not for the discerning diner who likes atmosphere and to be "in the scene." It's a local hotspot for those who don't want to drive east for some delicious raw fish. I gave it 5 stars because it is top notch food at a local dive. read more

Great for lunch! When I got there the pace was packed and with good reason. Food is very tasty, drinks are great, I had a chicken causa as a starter, and was almost full with it alone, had a Majarito to drink, it was delicious. Ordered the special of the day roll, it was called "Me derrito por ti" roll, AMAZING!!! It had tuna and steak?!?, topped with mofongo, topped with melted cheese it was amazing! Prices are super reasonable. The only complain I would have is that the place is too small for their success, but I think that's a good problem to have :) read more

After the gym my mom and I were craving some ceviche (of course healthy choice) we haven't been to Dr. Limón in years, so we said why not. The first thing i asked if they had lunch specials, just in case specially because of the FIU area. The hostess had no idea what i was talking about, she had to call a server... the "server" was more lost than the hostess. They talked among them while we were standing right in front of them... However, we ended up sitting outside. They didn't acknowledge us. Only a guy brought us the leche de tigre and corn right away. Then that same lady server came out and said "oh you are going to eat here?!" Excuse me??? You think I'm going to sit down just to look pretty and drink water??? Of course not. Anyways to make the story kind of short, we ordered a ceviche and ají de gallina with a different server, since the lady was not around.. The ají de gallina was cold, when we told the 3 people that came by the table they didn't know what to say, only one kind guy took it with him and said he would have it fixed. The lady server never came back until we were almost done with the ceviche. She told us and that the ají de gallina wasn't made fresh that they had it from yesterday. That they don't make the plates fresh that day. I looked at her so shocked. How can you say that to a guest??? Overall horrible experience from that lady and also reminds me why we never went back. Also, it's kind of confusing having 3 different people come by the table as if they were your server.. at the end of our only plate she pushed us to look at the dessert menu when we continuously said we didn't want anything else. It took her and the other 3 people 15min to bring the check... they either hire people with ethics and experience and know of customer service or train them on how it should be because what this restaurant have in little details like decorations and nice uniforms they don't have it in service which is what brings the guest back. Something also important, the hostess was wearing a crop top with no bra on and a mini skirt. Personally not appropriate. Especially her not wearing a bra??? Come on people. read more

Amazing peruvian food. I always get the family platter which brings Arroz Chaufa, Fried Ceviche, regular ceviche and jalea de mariscos its around $55 but so worth it. My favorite is the fried ceviche. causa de ceviche is also amazing. The ceviche trio is very good too and the service is good but the place is very small so their is times where the wait time is long. read more

This is currently my favorite restaurant. I love ceviche and they have the most variety of ceviche- it's all delicious. I always get the sampler, which comes with your choice if three flavors. It's a good sized portion and I always have enough leftover for a second meal. My boyfriend is not a fan of seafood so he ordered the churrasco and quinoa with a pepper cream sauce. His choice was delicious! Not only is the food great, but the staff offers impeccable service. If you love ceviche and haven't eaten here, you don't know what a gem your missing! read more

Omgggggg- everything is amazing!!!! Remedió Casero ceviche is incredible! El Lomo Salteado is to die... not to mention- they truly have the nicest and most patient staff! We go with my two year old toddler who has had good and bad days. They never make us feel uncomfortable despite our embarrassment when he spilled water or made a mess! What a great experience. The moment we walked in we were immediately greeted at the door with a friendly smile. Our server Eloy was very attentive and also provided a full explanation of the the menu items as well as recommendations. We decided on the "mar y al fuego " and were impressed. The fried ceviche was delicious and the Jalea was perfect. I have tried Peruvian restaurants in many different states and this has already made my top 5. When specifically asked about a food allergy while walking in the door the last thing I expected to ingest was the specific food I was allergic to. Had my server checked up on me maybe it could've maybe been avoided. When the manager checked she asked if i would like it to be remove off my check. This is a great place to experience something good and different from the usual fare. The wait staff is helpful and knowledgable. The owner comes by your table to make sure everything went well and that you are happy. The food was delicious and plentiful and to top it all off, the price is right. I been here twice to take my dad first then my mom both time were hell. First I went with my mom because she love ceviche. I must say I spent like 70 dollars worth in food. Let me tell you how disappointed I was with Arroz con pollo who ever is the cook you need to calm down was it your pepper. I never have had a spicy Arroz con pollo in my life and that's am cuban. W.e I told them I didn't like it I wanted somethjng else the waiter goes and rolls her eyes like wtf am I bothering you sorry but am a customer I pay for my shit. Which also I am a manager of a restaurant I would so fire you for doing that to a customer. So I waited nearly 30 mins for my food my mom was beyond done with her food mind you am here waiting. I ask my mom how was her ceviche she said very very salty which is odd. So I order her another one becau see ask like maybe just the one you order well sure enough this one had only like 5 shrimp like wtf am paying for veggie n no shrimp. But am still waiting for my food by time hit 30 mins I told her not to worry about it I didn't want it she goes omg let me check when bring the food. I obviously don't want it and I told her well this dimwit is basically forcing me to eat something I didn't want because you suck as a waiter. Not going toe mention your name but you need to go to customers service school. Second time was very very disappointed I got charge twice and they never told me until I find out I called n told them how can they be so ignorant and cold for not telling me they pass my card twice.there ecuse was she charge another tables order. I didn't know they order 60 dollars worth of iteams like we did. She goes and argues with me n didn't want to past me to a manager. When it comes to authentic Peruvian food, most people think of Ceviche. We thought of just that and did not stop there. We wanted to make it a fun and enjoyable culinary experience for everyone alike and decided to launch a fresh new restaurant concept in the heart of Kendall, named after our chef and owner Carlos Brescia's nickname, Dr. Limon. Our trademark is not only a personalized service, but also a fresh menu where most of the traditional Peruvian plates have been reinvented and changed into medical terms. To complement this innovative cuisine, our guests can choose from a wide variety of wines, wine-based craft cocktails, real fruit juices, and of course... desserts! Come and try a "Ceviche Ginecologo", taste a "Sangria de Laboratorio" and top it off with a "Sobredosis de Chocolate". Established in 2015.

Our first location was established in 2012 in the heart of Kendall by Chef Carlos Brescia and partners Jose Antonio Combina & Fiorella Terrazas, Dr. Limon was creatively designed from scratch to go with the theme of a Medical institution. The creative theme, from the plates to the servers jackets, were all designed and created to go with one another in an all around real world theme. From the presentation of the plates to the logistics of handling a hot and cold kitchen, Chef Carlos Brescia and staff are known for the dedication and one-of-a-kind taste that you will experience with every plate as you indulge into your own delightful pleasure bite after bite. Since we use only the freshest ingredients available as well as helping our local farmers and product providers, our plates are accessible to every type of food enthusiast, Vegetarian, meat and fish lovers alike! Thanks to God, our loyal guests and hardworking employees we opened this second location in November 2015.

Meet the Business Owner: Carlos B.

Carlos Brescia, a.k.a. Dr. Limon, is originally from Pimentel, Chiclayo, a coastal town in the North of Peru. Living right in front of the ocean got him extremely familiarized with seafood cuisine since he was a kid, learning first to fish and then to prepare his daily catch in a variety of delicious recipes. After moving to Miami in 2000, Carlos finally introduced himself completely in the culinary world, working in different oriental restaurants where he acquired the experience he would later use to create his own dishes, fusioning typical peruvian plates with international cuisines. The rest of the story is well- known, Carlos worked for 3 years as a chef at a famous Peruvian restaurant, where he met Jose Combina, his partner in this adventure. Together, they came up with an fresh menu switching the names of most plates to medical terms. The result was a total success! Dr. Limon opened its doors in April 2012 and ever since has satisfied your cravings with the best Ceviche in Miami!

Still, Eddie's plays to its strengths: it encourages you to bring your own food or order in, as long as you keep the bartenders busy. I showed up at close to 11 pm and ask the server to bring us a menu and he was like, "we are close; we close our kitchen at 11 pm. I was like, "really ?" it is not even 11 pm yet. He was like, "sorry sir, that is our policy." I then asked to speak with the manager and three long minutes later and guy with blood shot red eyes appeared and he said exactly the same thing. I asked him, " so if your guests presently seated at your tables ask for something from the menu what are you going to tell them..?" He said, that our kitchen is close. This was such a lie because I saw the such chefs rolling such rolls. Anyways. the manager / owner is an idiot. He should be tested from medicinal marijuana use. I am posting my review on Google and their other location on SW 8 Street. For the record, you guys have no idea how to use your discretion. Rule of thumb, "the customer is always right.." I have Been coming here for years. But today is and will be my last time golng to a Dr. Limón. It's 11:27 am. Trying to go in to have lunch and we are greeted with "sorry we are not OPEN yet, we open at 11:30 am". And they locked the door behind us as we walked away!!. Please!!!! this is why restaurants are going out of business and don't last. We could have gotten in and have a coke or water. They are having a team meeting 3 min before opening. Great planning!! And still have 4 people standing around not in the meeting but they could not sit us for 3 min!!! read more

We made our line and it was worth it because the food was outstanding and I highly recommend to get a sample platter of your favorite Peruvian dishes so you can have a little bit of everything.This is one of my favorite places in Miami to come and enjoy delicious food. The first time I placed an order for pick-up, I accidentally placed the order with a different location and the employees took quick measures to correct the order and prepare my meal right then so I could leave a happy customer.
