New favorite Ceviche restaurant hands down. Their ceviche is so well prepared and they offer many different variations. The sangria is refreshing, strong and decently priced. The restaurant is small and it's usually packed, even during the week days. Also, every time I have dined here, the service has been solid. Please do yourself a favor and check them out. The full ceviche experience every time. They location is a bit small and sometimes requires a wait, but we'll worth it. I always get the quarentena? It's got 4 different types of ceviche, one fried (INCREDIBLE). I'm usually stuffed after this, but don't forget one of their smoothies! Leche de tigre keeps you wanting more every time. I'm sure the food is good here. But my issue was that we made a large delivery order for the family, I'm a vegan so I ordered the veggie chaufa. So when the order arrived my chaufa had chicken in it. While everyone else was eating I was waiting for them to correct and resend the order. When it arrived the second time, I had chicken again. The hype around Dr. Limon is real. I came to the other location on 88th roughly 4 years ago and it was delightful. However, yesterday's visit went exactly the opposite. We arrived at 9:20pm and got seated after 20 minutes. We ordered the ceviche, tallarines verdes, and the créeme brûlée of maracuya. The ceviche was alright, wasn't what I was expecting but overall "okay". The tallarines verdes came with churrasco, the pasta was good but the meat was spoiled. The manager quickly attended our table and took care of it - apparently the freezer was broken and both of our meats were affected. My mom order sushi and I ordered the lomo saltado instead as per manager's suggestion. Both items were still not fresh but after a 6 hour drive we ate half of it. One of the dishes were taken of the bill. The créeme brûlée was okay- it was cold and runny not how it's supposed to be. The service was great but still with only two dishes the bill was $56 the price doesn't match the quality. Overall disappointed with this visit. read more

The wait was a little long however it was well worth it! We loved everything about it. The food was really good, we got a sampler of 4 different items. This is not on the menu but it seemed everyone knew about it because it was on almost every table. We loved the causa rolls (forgot what the menu calls them) and the fried ceviche to die for. We didn't love the fries seafood mix, but not cause it wasn't cooked to perfection I just personally don't love that deep fried taste. Wish we had the chaufa instead. Is not the first time that I visit Doctor Limon but the first time in 8 street. The customer service as always excellent but the food not so good. I asked for me and my husband a Jalea (fritura mixta de pescado) and there were some pieces of clams that not were fresh. As soon as we tried we noticed this. I didn't know that closing at 11 meant closing at 10:40. We were refused service. Not a good way to start a new location

Dr. Limon has good food, I'll give it that. Not fantastic, but good. However, our group was subjected to a little deception by one of the waiters. We were recommended the "Fire & Ice" appetizer, which we were told was enough to feed 3-4 people. It was described as a "sampler" - the waiter even described the size with his hands, putting them no more than a foot apart. When we received the "Fire & Ice", it was much larger than described and was easily enough to feed 6 or 7 people as an appetizer. When the bill came, it was 54 dollars. As a waiter, you don't trick customers - especially if something isn't on the menu, by improperly describing the size. I guess it's a typical trick that some restaurants used to use in the past, but with the advent of Yelp and other mass communication review sites, those practices have gone largely extinct. Not at Dr. Limon. Be careful with how much you spend here. For the quality of the food, it wasn't worth it. EDIT: Ok, ok I got some flack for giving this place three stars. I would give it a 3.5. Last time I was here, I had a more pleasurable experience. I got that lomo saltado. It was on point. I'm just a little salty about the $54 fire and ice. I shouldve known when they called it "fire and ice" and not "sampler platter" that it would be expensive. read more

I've been coming to this spot for years. A few months ago I started coming more consistently since my boyfriend fell in love with their tallarines verdes and steak plate (100% recommended). And I have the Lomo Saltado (100% recommended as well, they put the right amount of sodium). We come here around once a month. The service has been very good. Although the last time we came our appetizer (sushi - delicious as well) took so long that we almost returned it. We did noticed that our server was eager to get us out of the table. He asked 2 x to take our plates when we were not done at all. We then noticed the line outside and it made sense, but still not appropriate. We've been also notice that although we order TAP WATER they keep charging us for water service, which makes NO SENSE to me as I usually pour my own water... this is something I will be addressing if it happens a 3rd time. I was so disappointed in my first visit to Dr Limon. The service we received was the worst ever. It was a shame since the food was delicious. The beer wasn't cold at all, we ordered a house salad that never got to our table, the coffee was served before the dessert...a complete mess. I don't think I'll be back. There are so many other options to choose. I expect to have a good time when going out for dinner and that includes both good food and service. OMG!!! I've never ever had such amazing flavors dancing in my mouth!!! What a great experience it was to spend Father's Day dinner at their 137 Ave location. Manuel was an excellent, professional, knowledgeable and pleasant server we've had in a very long time. The restaurant was packed, our wait time was barely an hour and it was so worth the wait. Great to have a nice restaurant by the house, but the drinks selection was not good enough to pair with the ceviche and entree plates . They should really expand the wine collection and beer , there is also not enough seating. It is over priced for what they are giving. If the drink selection was better with upper class service I wouldn't have mind spending the 10 dollars on a glass of wine and paying my 100 dollar bill. :) read more

Had a nice lunch at this restaurant. They bring some complimentary toasted corn and a shot of leche de tigre (the juice from the ceviche) to the table as you sit and peruse the menu. The grilled octopus was so tender and delicious! Served with Peruvian corn and golden potatoes and a small side salad. The octopus comes to the table on a sizzling hot cast iron skillet that keeps the food warm. The three sauce tiradito was ok, but I prefer to eat tiradito the traditional simple way with only lime or lemon juice. We also had the daily special which was a whole snapper lightly fried and served with potatoes, sautéed onions and tomatoes, and a side of white rice. The dish was large and good enough to share between two people. The chocolate cake with lucuma ice cream was absolutely delicious and a perfect ending to our meal. We also ordered the chirimoya mousse which was light and good but had no chance next to the chocolate cake. Service was very friendly and attentive. Nice little restaurant you wouldn't expect to find in a shopping center like the one it's in. The decor is simple yet fun with a touch of fancy at the same time. The food is also good here. I always have the remedio casero (fish ceviche) and the lomo salteado. The servers are always friendly and glad to help you. I tried this place because I saw a few people say it was very good. I would say the place and ambiance is very nice. The service was excellent but as far as for the most important reason why we go to a restaurant, the food wasn't great. I have been to Lima 2 times and I love Peruvian food. I have gone to every popular Peruvian place that I've heard of in south Florida so when i think I've tried the very good and very bad. But this place is ok, not horrible but definitely not great. I usually order the same dishes at any Peruvian place but I left there not impressed with the food. I have to say the desert was great and the drink was great so I have to give credit where credit is due but the appetizers and main dishes weren't. read more
