First time here and it was a wonderful experience. I was looking at their menu. They had like a little of everything. What stood out for me was the half gallon size container. I ordered one and it was a $15 dollar well spent. I was amazed at how there is a half a gallon " family size ". The night ended with me being overdosed with thai tea! I recommend you guys to get the family size because I think it is worth it. They can't really ripped you off with ice and you can take it home and fridge it for the next day. I would love to re use this container for water. Service: 10/10 Food: haven't tried Drink: 10/10 the thai tea has a nice creamy mix that is sweet enough to make me come back for another sip. Friends and I came here because it was late, and they were the closest boba place that was still open. I ordered a Taro Snow, which came out like a slushy. It was a bit deceiving, because they had a section for slushies too. One friend ordered a slushy and her drink came out creamer than mine! We ordered popcorn chicken too which was good, but not great. I might give this place another shot and order something different next time. But, if you're craving boba at a late time or just need a good place to go chill with friends, this isn't necessarily a bad spot to go to. I've always visited a little boba restaurant with the exact same name in Rowland Heights, so when I noticed this pop up when I asked for a Siri search of late-night boba places, I decided to visit this place! It's remarkably different from the one in Rowland Heights, especially when it comes to the vibe in the area. The menu was slightly different, but I've always loved tofu so I ordered it. I was disappointed because the tofu was cold and hard, and the chicken wasn't the best either. On top of that, it was extremely crowded and noisy and definitely not an ideal place to study. The furniture was also on the older side, and some of the rips and tears made seating uncomfortable. None of the tables (the available ones, at least) were clean, and they were covered in little crumbs. Next time, we'll stick to the drinks. read more

I've been going to this location ever since it was a Lollicup (2011?) and it's the closest boba shop to my house. This place is not bad for being all the way in Orange, but the rising competition has been beating it down. Okay, I hate this parking lot almost as much as I hate my high school's, mainly because it's mostly students that drive here. It's almost always packed (that In N Out line...) so I park outside 24 hour most of the time. The darker ambiance is quite unique in this part of Orange and it has a cafe/study spot vibe. Usually I come here to just pick up a drink and leave since it can get crowded (especially at night) and there are a lot of students that (loudly) spend their time here. There are outlets if you plan to study or do work here. I only order milk teas and regular teas with boba. First, there's a large variety of drinks, however the drinks are expensive for what you pay for. $5 for a small milk tea flavored with syrup is really a fail when I can get the same drink (that tastes the same) at 85 degrees for more than a dollar cheaper. I also can drive farther to 7 Leaves to get a drink that is brewed and made without flavored syrup for more than a dollar cheaper as well. The only food I order from here is popcorn chicken, which is good, although it can take a while. The only reason why I come back is when someone asks me to go here, or I want thai tea (since 85 degrees doesn't sell it). Otherwise, there are a TON of other local boba shops that outshine Dragonfly. read more

Right when you walk into the building you automatically feel welcomed. The employees welcome you with a smile and a "hi, welcome!" The boba is slightly bigger than most places i've been to, and not as squishy as other boba shops, but that's how I like mine. If you are looking for more firm/less squishy, and slightly bigger sized boba, this is the place for you! I've been to so many boba shops, and this is by far my ABSOLUTE favorite. I will drive 40 minutes out of my way to go to this specific boba shop. read more

You had people studying, some talking, and the music was pretty quiet to accommodate the mood. Lots of tables/seats. I wanted to give this place a 4 star because of their service and atmosphere but the drinks didn't do it for me. I got the taro milk tea with boba ( promotion=buy one, get one for $1) it was a great deal but it the boba just lacked flavor. I feel spoiled that every boba place now has honey boba as their default boba, so when you just have plain boba it's just not that good anymore. How dare you call this a TEA place! The drinks that they put out are more close to sweetened water. Absolutely terrible and such a shame that this is the only boba place in the Orange area. When I have a craving for tea and have no other option but to come here, I have to get my drinks made with black tea (to cut the sweetness and add more of a tea flavor) and half sweet. Five stars because of this place's hours. Otherwise, the food and drinks are about a 4/5. If your going to order food, make sure to do it by 2:30(?) since they'll close the kitchen after that. Perhaps it was an off night but this was clearly not a good effort. I walked in after wanting to try it for a while no and my first instincts were to turn around and go next door. Ordered the mango chicken which came out less than attractive covered in sesame seed. Ordered the dumplings and was told they didn't have them, then I elected for the chicken rolls...... yeah they came out black as asphalt. The mound of mushy over cooked rice is better suited for people with no teeth. As it was more paste. And changing the radio station is getting annoying. As I look around clearly there is a reason there is only tea in front of other guests and not food. And personal hygiene seems to be an issue, kind of like the quality of the food, it just wasn't there. read more

The first time I came to check this place out was to try their Milk Tea Boba, due to the reviews on Yelp. The place was a little packed but there's enough space for everyone. The milk tea was pretty good, also considering it was my first time trying boba in general. When I came I also noticed they had a printer which could be used by the customers. The next time I came it was with the intention of using their printer. When I arrived we purchased their mocha blended drink with boba. I would buy their mocha again but without the boba next time. I tried using the printer and even downloaded everything it required in order to use, probably took an hour just setting up my netbook to the printer just so it wouldnt work in the end which was very disappointing. If i go back it'll be to try their mocha again not their printer. read more

Since Dragonfly Tea Bar closes at 2am on weekdays and 4am on weekends, I am ensured that my boba cravings can be satisfied at any time of day. However, outside of this convenient fact, the drinks are average in taste. Berry Terrific ($4.10)- A respectable drink composed of strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, and boba. A bit on the sour side for me. The boba here is inconsistently made--from their sizes to their taste, they change daily, it seems. Coco Almond Tea Milktea with boba ($4.10)- Full of almond flavor, but leans heavily on the sweet side. "The house favorite." Rainbow Tea ($4.10)- Might as well be called diabetes. Suh-weeeet, in a bad way. Contains strawberry, peach, and mango. With these ingredients, I would've thought it would be sour, but there was sugar overload. Mangoholic ($4.10)- I was told this concoction is it's most popular and I can see why. A refreshing drink made up of mango and blueberry. Popcorn Chicken ($3.99)- I appreciate an extra fried and extra battered piece of chicken, but Dragonfly Tea Bar takes this to another level. I'm unsure if this is a bad thing, but it can't be good, healthwise. Eat at your own peril. ------ Conclusion: Not terrible and not outstanding either. Being Asian and loving sweet dessert drinks I can't help but give this place 4 stars. Most of you have probably tried many boba places... what makes this one stand out is the location hours of operation. If you live in north OC you don't have many decent options. This one is one of the best ones I've tried. It's quality in drinks with appropriate sweetness and size for its price is definitely what puts it over the top. The clean environment and mellow lighting creates a soothing environment which quickly puts you in a comfort zone. After all we get these drinks to relax and satisfy our cravings...
