The pop corn chicken is good. The tea is alright and also the Wifi does not work. Like ever

Very upsetting experience. These new younger workers are just rude and non sanitary. Earlier today, a female worker was asked to remake my tea bc I asked for 70% & it was super sweet still. She used a clean knife to cut open the plastic from my cup, then put the knife in the sink & realized she needed to cut it more so she can reuse my drink contents. She then picks up the knife from the dirty sink & continues cutting open the plastic off of my cup. I called her on it & asked why she would do that. She denied it & rolled her eyes as she started over with a new cup. I then let her finish, but I had to ask another worker to redo it bc I could not trust her to touch my drink anymore. She saw me ask another worker & tried to argue with me. I had to defend myself & remind her why I could not trust her to touch my drink. What a terrible customer experience. The new crew needs to be retrained. The young man that helped me fix her mess, he had a nice smile the whole time & didn't give me a hard time. Management needs to fire that girl, there is no training a bad attitude and lack of common sense. No common sense, no proper respect of food safety, & a bad attitude. Fire her, please bc I fear she will spit in my drink the next time I'm there, and I'm a regular. read more

There's a couple of amazing things about this place: the best being that it's open until 3AM . . . EVERY. NIGHT. This makes it the perfect place to study, gets some work done or just hang out and catch up friends. It is very laptop friendly -- when I arrived it appears that there were several outlets scattered and near almost every table/booth. Their zucchini appetizer is AMAZING and they add just enough spice to give them a kick. The side of ranch it is served with appears fresh and maybe even homemade ?? SO GOOD. Unfortunately when I called to check how busy they were (and also to see how laptop friendly they were) the phone rang for quite some time and I finally just gave up and took a chance on relying on outlet availability, I guess they were really busy, ha. Sigh,,. I used to come here a lot even before it was dragon fly and it was lollicup. I actually preferred their teas when it was Lollicup, but for old time sake my boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately we were disappointed with our drinks. They were pretty much empty so we got our drinks quickly. I ordered the Passion fruit black tea, and he ordered honey black tea. It was wayyy tooo sweet. Even after vigorously shaking our tea to mix them in throughly we were still able to taste the syrup in our drinks. Especially my boyfriends honey black tea tasted like brown sugar rather than honey. Service was okay, although the two servers didn't look like they wanted to be there. This place proves that monopolies really do work. They are the only boba establishment in the area with the rest of orange in full boba prohibition. This in other words, is the boba speakeasy of orange where they can charge whatever they want for bad tasting milk tea. Dragonfly is convenient and they are open late. Came by after work today and waited in line for about 10 mins with only 1 person ahead of me. Cashier clearly didn't know how to work her register and was having problems. I was waiting in line and some guy who doesn't observe social distancing walks up and gets in between me and the lady at the register. I thought he was with the lady because he stood sooooo close to her. When the lady finally left, he walks up and proceeds to order...I say "hello." Cashier looks up for half a second and doesn't say anything and continues with the order. I've been looking for a different popcorn chicken place during my lunch break...this spot was the 2nd closest. The first time I decided to check this place out the guy told me the kitchen is closed because something is "backed up"...so being an understanding person and also drove all the way down there I told him "oh no worries, I'll just take the milk tea in that case" Learning from that experience I decided to call before I drove all the way down there to be disappointed again... and guess what, now he is cleaning the fryer...right before lunch...for most people. I'm giving the 2 stars for time management, this place could have potential but unfortunately I haven't been able to try their food twice now. Stopped by here to try their watermelon slush and the tropical slush. I hate to say but I was a bit disappointed with the drinks we got. The watermelon slush tasted so artificial. No watermelon taste at all just pure syrup. You can tell so because you get that weird after taste. The slush was so sweet that we didn't even get halfway through the cup. read more

2nd time here since the place changed from lollicup to dragonfly. The first time I had some taro coconut milk tea and it was horrible! Way to sweet and tasted disgusting. Just tonight I decided to give this place another try. I got the honeydew slush with honey boba and it was really good! My friend and I shared the popcorn chicken and fried zucchini. The popcorn chicken was okay I didn't really like it that much. It didn't have much meat. The fried Zucchini was great and a good portion. Tea was fresh brewed but, as best as I could figure none of the other ingredients that went into my milk tea were. Taste of the tea was fairly good but there boba was not as good as many other boba tea places. The balls were all stuck together which made it hard to suck them through the straw. The milk tea was also too sweet; I don't think I'd get one again unless they could make it with less sweetener but I don't really like my tea very sweet so it might suit you, just the way they make it. We also had a mango and apple Icee which were very flavorful. Don't bother with this place if you have a restrictive diet. They instilled no confidence in conveying what goes into their drinks. What can you say? it's a pretty decent boba spot. Great selection of milk teas, black and green teas, yogurt drinks, and blended drinks. Good add-ins, and great snacks (called Munchies, and there are "entree" versions that come with rice and a pot sticker). Try the squid balls. Their new "mango" chicken taste like sesame general tsao's chicken. Not my favorite. Certain days they have certain specials with certain dishes and a teas. My favorite drink is the sunset blended. Reminds me very much of the "love at first sight" at Cha for Tea. It's a little small, and gets packed, even on a Tuesday night, for no reason at all. Tried to study, but if you have more than 2 people, you'll have to use 1-3 aligned tables in the front, and combine them. The booths are smaller and can barely fit 3 people with 2 books and a laptop. Otherwise, the price is decent, a little on the high side, but they are more of a specialty type of place. For drinks you can get for $4/large at Lollicup and Tapex, this place will run you 5. People are nice though, the workers don't harass you at all if you study. But please, GET A NEW PLAYLIST!!! The drinks are good, not great, but a good variety, and if you need a Boba fix in Orange, there arent many choices. It can get busy, but usually its full of "students" on laptops or reading books. Customer service is always friendly, but can take some time to get your drinks at times. Parking is usually pretty good, but because they share the center with a Stater Brothers, In N Out and a 24 Hour Fitness, the traffic in and out of the center gets pretty hectic. Many boba places also have a good selection of food, while Dragonfly is no exception, this is definitely not their strength so my suggestion is head to In N Out, Taco Mesa, or Flame Broiler(next Door) if you want something to eat. read more

Great late night place! Cheap and very relaxed environment. The floor setting is interesting in the layout, but makes do with the small space that they have. Yummy snacks like popcorn chicken, dumplings, and squid balls for a decent price. All in all it's very similar to guppies restaurant, just better food, sweeter drinks, and better service. I've been coming here for three years and it's my favorite boba place. 99% of the time I get the milk tea coffee with small Boba and it's delicious!! It packs a punch, if u need to stay up late, this is ur go to drink. The clientele is usually college students, they have a rewards card where u get a free regular drink after buying a certain amount of drinks. I've gotten tons of free drinks, again I come here all the time. They have a printer for people to us, different styles of seating, and they're open very very late. Again a college friendly place. The food isn't the best I've only bought food about two times. It's too fried, dry, or not tasty. They also have raffles, last time they were raffling an iPad. Cool small place in orange. read more

Drinks are good but a little pricy for what you pay for. We came here due to yelps rating 4 stars but I don't think this place deserve 4 stars overall. Here are the reasons why: SERVICE: service here was fine I had no problem but it would have been better if you're promoting a sale then you NEED tell your customers about the sale. She didn't mention anything about it until I actually have to ask about the BUY 1 drink and get 1 for $1 ( btw it ends sept 15). DRINKS: "rainbow snow" which has strawberry, mango, and peach. $4.49 small +$0.45 boba= $4.94 without tax. --his: " sunset tea" has passion fruit and peach. $3.65 small + .45 boba =$4.09 w/o tax. ---My smoothie rainbow snow tasted very good very similar to TASTEA'S strawberry sensation. My bf also liked his tea too. PRICE: ok I think the price is way too pricy for what you pay here. My smoothie is almost $5 for a small cup and his was only tea and it's $4. At other boba/ tea locations they are way cheaper than here. Usually tea drinks cost around $2.75-$3.50 and smoothie range $3.50-$4 without add ons. Plus these drinks didn't even come with fruit bits inside or anything special to make it worth the price. If your gonna sell a $5 drink you need to make it super good with fruit bits/ free add ons or sell it in a bigger size cup to make it worth $5. So yea it's OVERPRICED! NOTE BEWARE: I found 5-6 little pieces of fruit fiber in my smoothie. It was strange when I had found this while outside sipping at their tables, in the car going home, and at home. In the beginning I had only found one so I let it go; however, as I keep drinking my smoothie overtime I had found more fruit fibers on my way home. (I hope it is fruit fiber and not some weird stuff!). I would have said something if I had discover those fibers while still at the tea location. I didn't realize I had found so many on my way home. Since my drink did had "mango" inside I'm assuming it was from the mango. STILL THIS WASNT RIGHT! It left me a really bad impression about the cleanliness of this place. I mean it could have been worse....What if it was "plastic or hair"???? Omg I do NOT wanna think about this. CONCLUSION: I would have given a better star for great taste on drinks but I lowered it due to high prices and stuff I had discover in my drink. First time here. Interesting deco, friendly staff. The food is very cheap. I got the Friday meal special: Organic Mango Tofu Meal with Rainbow Specialtea. The tofu is nicely fried. I asked for light mango sauce and it's pretty good. Maybe I'll just get the regular next time. It also came with a giant slab of rice, a side of salad and one fried dumpling. Over half the place was filled with people on their laptops and with their books out. They have tea samples near the front for you to try. The empty tables were all sticky and there's really no space for you if you just want to stand and wait for your drink... What I got: Popcorn Chicken Monday Special ($8): comes with one fried gyoza, salad, and rice. The gyoza was okay, tasted like it came from those frozen dumpling bags. Salad had a light and simple vinaigrette on it, could have used more to give it more flavor.They give you plenty of rice though, but it was a bit on the dry side. Popcorn chicken was nice and crunchy, next time I'd just order the popcorn chicken by itself. Comes with a free Specialtea too. Tropical Beach w/ Lychee Jelly (included w/ Daily Special): lychee and strawberry flavored tea. Comes with 1 add on so I got the lychee jelly. The drink was pretty good actually. Sweeter than most teas I've had though. Mango Chicken ($4.50): it was overly sauced. Didn't taste like it had any mango flavoring at all. It was sweet and covered in sesame seeds and not crunchy at all... Service: Drinks came out a lot faster than I expected. Supposedly you get 20% off any 'munchies' when you order the daily special, but I don't think the cashier took the discount for the mango chicken. This place is so tasty! The milk teas are always good and they are also non-dairy which is important to me, regardless if it sounds strange since milk is in the title of the drink, but I digress. The snacks they serve here are pretty good and are fresh. I originally came in for the crispy tofu. Mmm. Every time I came here, it was around noon, but its nice to know this place is open late if you are a student looking for a place to study or just having a late night boba craving like I periodically have. came here on a saturday night to study although there is ample studying space, the wifi was down :( i ordered the peach snowy drink, popcorn chicken, and cajun fries. the peach snow was good but it got really icy towards the end of the drink. i adjusted the sweetness to 75% which was perfect for me. that was ~5$ popcorn chicken was alright. the pieces were a little too big and was kind of too oily. that was also ~5$ fries were super oily (even though they were crispy) but probably the best thing out of all the things i ordered. fries were ~4$ had to leave early cause i needed wifi but it seems like a good place to talk with friends late at night cause it closes at 3am! may come back here but if you need wifi, you should call before coming cause it was down the entire time i was here! I'm really glad I found this place on yelp since it's close to my house and I've been wanting to find a local boba place. I read a lot of reviews before trying it and it does seem pretty cool that this place is open til 4 am. I went with a friend last weekend to grab drinks and when we got there the place was deserted, granted it was the middle of the day. It has a nice set up for a small location and easy to read menus. We ordered 2 drinks and a mango chicken meal to go. The drinks had these crazy amoeba looking things which I think are from dragon fruit. I'd never tried it before, but they were delicious!! I agree with the other reviews about the food, it didn't taste like mango at all, but it was good for the price. I've been here a few times now. The milk tea is great. The seating is good but it's a little cramped inside when it gets busy. The customer service is good! It's usually college girls working so we'll talk for a bit about school. They're also pretty fast with making the tea. My friends usually get the fruity drinks or tea with boba and they're all addicted. Dragonfly has a good location and is pretty easy to find. It's also near El Modena HS and SCC so there's a lot of high school/college kids that go here. The atmosphere is chill and the seating is comfortable. The major downsides for me are the food. I had popcorn chicken and steamed dumplings. My friends had egg rolls and a chicken/rice plate. None of us really cared for the food to be honest, BUT it is a tea bar so I wasn't going in expecting the food to be great. The chicken was mostly small, fried bits and the steamed dumplings looked/tasted like the Costco ones. For college kids - this is a great place to come and study and have a drink. Unless you're good with club level music, I mean dear god if they're going to be playing music that loud they should be serving alcohol too. I don't know if it's always like this or if it's just one of the employees because the first time I went here I had really good study vibes, but the next two times were horrendously loud. I mean I had a hard time hearing my friend next to me as she asked what I was going to study for.
